The demolitions corps. A long standing tradition of Iwagakure no Sato, famed for its ability to destroy both with tactical precision and in great areas with gusto. Though this wouldn’t be an official return in any capacity as far as Karumo was concerned, but he selected everyone with this in mind. The best of the best in destruction and guerilla fighting tactics. Though, probably not necessary for a distraction force, it would be great for any potential skirmishes that might arise throughout the duration of this event.
10 squads were what he had prepared, each of them specialists in ninjutsu and destruction, the best of the best in explosive tacticians. Even though the Iwagakure Demolition corps wasn’t an official division anymore, the village hadn’t lost its resolve and tradition of excellence in power. Ten squads only meant 40 soldiers in total, but supplemented by 20 more squads of ANBU black ops to supplement each squad by 2 more additional squads. Set up strategically along the Kumogakure border in key positions of high traffic areas and important positions. Their standing orders were to be a presence but not to engage at any cost, instead returning traffic and pseudo-blockading the area.
They were ordered not to engage unless engaged first or the order came from Kirigakure’s own force. Their order to deter traffic and close down major sections of the border would no doubt gather their attention, but only the demolition corps would be visible. The supplementing squads of ANBU would be hidden in the area with the utmost expertise, ready to move in at a moment’s notice should anything arise to jeopardize those squads.
It shouldn’t end up being too much of a problem though, they would serve their purpose as a distraction force easily. And once word of Kirigakure moving in on their capitol village would spread, they would have by far and large served their purpose and could call it mission complete. That would be unless any arriving Kumogakure forces decided that they wanted to engage against Iwa’s own squads.
Karumo waited a distance off from the Iwa border, ten more squads of ANBU with him acting as a command center and awaiting any potential word from Kirigakure that might come about. He puffed away with his cigar in his mouth and looked towards the general direction of Kumogakure. He was only a few miles off and waiting for whatever word would come about on their new orders and what they should do next. Otherwise they would hold their blockade for the evening and then retreat back to their village and wait until they back from their allies.
