Chiaki rubbed the back of their neck awkwardly, looking at the piece of paper with their job on it. Oh lovely. More pet retrieval. No, seriously, it’s wonderful. They smiled slightly, stuffing the piece of paper behind their protector. “Alright… Let’s do this, step by step… Not really, now to find the lizard…" they muttered to themselves, before walking up to one of the nearby locals. “Excuse me miss. Have you seen a lizard anywhere? About this big…” they hold their hands to show roughly the size of the little lizard, only to be disappointed with the shake of the head of the stranger. “Thank you anyway” they respond, sighing and jumping to the roof of the nearest building. Their voice was probably a bit quiet, but well, you can’t exactly tell volume when you’re deaf and lip reading can you?
They shut their eyes, moulding chakra, before opening their eyes wide, Onigan active. Black and red, miniature orbs dropped from their eyes, forming into the familiar shape and pattern of the onigan. Once they had all collected, Chiaki sent the eye off, walking with it to investigate and search for the missing lizard. But which way to look first? Think. What do you know about lizards? They’re scaly, lazy, and cold blooded… The cold blooded part is probably the most important in that thought process. Walking forward, they clicked their fingers in realisation. Of course, the sun. If Chiaki was a lizard and wanted to be lazy and warm up, they would probably go somewhere high to sunbathe. Now, to narrow the field to search. So, logically, the lizard would not have gone too far from where it was lost. Even if lizards aren’t lazy, they have small legs, so it makes sense. That should limit it to… A radius. No clue what radius, but there must definitely be one. So, next thing to do is think of places with sun access. With a sigh, they move the eye behind them, giving themselves a rather good view as they slowly turn around to get a full circle view. Looks like east is the way to go right now.
Next up, noise. Lizards are sensible, so would probably go somewhere noise isn’t right? So, that helps narrow it a bit more. Or, a lot more actually. Smiling, they began running off, a few spots in mind that, if they were a lizard, they would totally sunbathe there. They jumped into the street, rolling for a softer landing and then to run off again. That would’ve probably looked cool, if they didn’t proceed to roll straight into a wall. Rubbing their shoulder, they sighed, giving themselves a second to readjust. They really need to get better at paying attention to what they’re doing.
Deciding that once the mission was done, they’d go to bed, Chiaki found new motivation, at least for this mission. They gave a thumbs up to the wall, before running off again, earning them quite a few odd glances. It wasn’t a long run to the first place to check, but that was the entire idea of a restricted area search. They slowly began sending the eye out in front of them, sending it to look around corners while Chiaki was looking the other way. After about half an hour, they sighed. Nothing here… Maybe, just maybe…. They sighed, dissipating the eye and this time walking to the next destination. It was too hot to keep running, or at the very least, not a mission they really had to run.
After a brisk walk, Chiaki found themselves at the next destination, one they weren’t exactly fond of, but at least familiar with. The Tsumi sand grounds. It’d be a lot easier if they could hear for the pitter patter of the shifting sands, but well, some things can’t be changed. They look at the sands that moved slowly in the stale, humid breeze. While not wonderfully easy to notice, they do in fact spot something that looks like a foot print. About time. Following the print carefully, they finally find it. The little lizard. With a smile, Chiaki outstretched their hand, keeping as still as they could. Chiaki liked lizards. They were calm, lazy, and generally friendly. After about 5 minutes of standing still and looking like an idiot, the lizard finally scurried up into their hand. With a smile, Chiaki lifted the lizard up and began carrying it to the client. The mission completed, it was time for bed. Early bed, but still bed.
