D-rank
Mission name: Brass Tacks.
Mission rank: D
Objective: Compromise the physical aspect of a competing shop.
Location: Marketplace (any village)
Reward: 160 Ryo.
Mission description: After some talks after-hours with a shopkeeper, you've been tasked with orchestrating certain "structural malfunctions" in a competitor's operation.
Mission details: This mission can be completed during the daytime, but it is extremely difficult, what with so many people walking about. Doing so at night has less risk of being spotted, but you definitely look more suspicious if doing something like this at night. Not to mention the fact that your actions, more likely than not, will be noisy; at least two people will knock on the door after hearing your work in progress, and one will even peek in.
To accomplish this mission, enter the shop without leaving any signs of a break-in. Then, remove - at random- screws, nails, and other things that keep (first and foremost) the shelving standing. As a secondary objective, you may sabotage the windows, doors, and even walls. The goal here is to run down the shop without causing any damage that would be considered overtly malicious (i.e. something that couldn't happen over time).
Mission name: The Slip.
Mission rank: D
Objective: "Inadvertently" aid a robbery and escape.
Location: Marketplace (any village)
Reward: 150 Ryo.
Mission description: You were approached by a rather shady civilian. S/he asked you to set up a diversion so that a small theft could be pulled off.
Mission details: Create any sort of means that s/he can steal the goods from a shop in the market while making it away unnoticed; it should also be noted that you should not draw too much attention to yourself in the process, or you will be arrested as having a hand in the theft, even if they didn't see the real culprit. The diversion(s) should last at least 5 minutes total, and should be both visible and audible (though not necessarily at the same time); even if the shopkeeper cannot see the thief, they could still hear items being stolen, especially during the last 20-30 seconds in which the thief starts getting shaky and clumsy. Alternatively, you can distract them for half the time and set up traps to delay (but not harm) anyone who would try to give chase to the thief.
Mission name: Red Hands.
Mission rank: D
Objective: Shill a competing shop out of business.
Location: Marketplace (any village)
Reward: 160 Ryo.
Mission description: You've arranged a behind-the-counter deal with one of the shopkeepers the day before. Plant some small "stolen" goods in a rival's shop (or even on their person) to get him arrested; you have a five minute window after their lunch when they're a little more relaxed or lethargic.
Mission details: You can plant the items however you want to, but they need to be in a place that one would logically hide such things; in a pocket, perhaps, or even under the counter. Obviously, the shopkeeper attends their stall, and many of the ninja villages' shops have been looted before; s/he has C-0 Perception when it comes to sight, and D-3 Perception in all other categories. Getting caught simply gets you chased out, but mess up more than once and you fail.
Mission name: Eighty-Six.
Mission rank: D
Objective: Destroy a specific piece of property.
Location: Marketplace or Residential Areas (any village)
Reward: 180 Ryo.
Mission description: Whatever you're meant to demolish, it should be on the owner's property, in the yard or house. It might be difficult to sneak in depending on the person, as families are exceptionally hard to totally avoid (for example). It is typically some sort of heirloom or treasured item, and it's not small.
Mission details: Destroying an object is usually noisy. Either be quiet and discrete or be prepared to get the hell out of there. The owner and at least two other people will hear it if you aren't hush-hush about breaking it, and one person will hear you either way. They're no more than civilians, but they're also full-grown; they have at least D-2 physical stats.
Mission name: Queer Pitch.
Mission rank: D
Objective: Minor Poisoning.
Location: Residential Areas (Any Village)
Reward: 170 Ryo.
Mission description: Whoever your employer is, they've been ticked off by your mark in one way or another. A little retribution or coercion is in order: simply poison a meal-in-progress. Not deadly or anything; just a bit of stomach troubles for the next week. You will have to procure the poison yourself, either via market transactions or (if Medical) collecting them yourself.
Mission details: You will fail the mission if any trace you were in the kitchen is left. Since this is mealtime, you will have to somehow get in there without any of the multitude of people inhabiting the house noticing you.
Mission name: Run Dry, Dry Run.
Mission rank: D
Objective: Public Fishing.
Location: Residential Areas (Any Village)
Reward: 190 Ryo.
Mission description: Your employer more wants a point made rather than severe damage done. So, your mission is to pickpocket a certain characteristic item of sentimental value off of the target. It will be either at hip or neck level, both difficult to steal from without alerting the person.
Mission details: It just so happens that their path of travel today is heavily laden with shopping; you won't be able to get them in a place where no one can see you for a large amount of hours. In addition, your employer wants the item to be stolen in broad daylight, just to drive their point home. The mission fails if anyone catches you stealing from the target, including the target themselves.
