Such a nice weather this time around. The sun was shining, birds were chirping as they swirled around in the sky and moved synchronized into the same direction. From this high up, Rei had the view that he wanted to have; it was perfect, actually. He was sitting on a tall cliff, right on the edge to take in the scenery on his day off. At the bottom of the cliff, stretching along the left side of the sea, there was a beach. You could see many people enjoying the weather and bathing in both the sunlight and the water to cool themselves off. Rei, however, decided to spend his time just relaxing by himself up here, almost being positive that no one would get it into their minds to walk all the way up here, while all the action is going on at the beach. He inhaled, taking in the fresh air and exhaled shortly after. The wind, which was just the right temperature, crawled up against his skin, beneath his clothes. His white hair swayed from left to right. Closing his eyes, he just wanted to take in the sounds of nature. Because of this, the sounds from the beach were blocked out. Both of Rei’s legs hung off the edge of the cliff, dangling in mid-air and his hands placed on the ground a little behind him to support himself, find his balance and attempting not to fall down from this height. It would certainly be his death. Besides the beach, from this perspective you could see parts of the small coastal towns, as well. He had never seen this part of Kirigakure before and was kind of interested in what more this village had to offer. Although he has already been here for a little while, it seems there are still a lot more things to explore and check out other than the most common places people would come to.
One of the birds that swirled around in the air eventually made a landing, right next to Rei. Surprising. Rei thought that normally birds would just steer away from humans and get scared with every little movement that they made, but it seems that this bird didn’t bother with it, at all. Maybe Rei thought wrong? Birds weren’t scared like that, at all? Rei chuckled a little bit. Looking at it right now, it seems that the bird was taking in the scenery itself, as well. Just standing there next to Rei, even looking into the same direction. Almost as if the bird was his own pet. Slowly but surely, he raised one of his hands, that was used to keep his balance, in order to touch the bird, but it seems Rei thought correctly. The bird flapped its wings and just like that, flew off into the horizon to join up with its friends. This wasn’t what Rei expected and considering one of his hands wasn’t touching the surface anymore, he had trouble keeping his balance. His body swayed a bit, moving closer and closer to the edge of the cliff, even to the point where he balanced himself forward too much that he would be able to look right down at the rocks that covered the surface of the sea beneath. A thought crossed his mind as if he was indeed falling down, snapping out of it at the moment that that ‘vision’ reached the ending sequence, resulting in him making an impact on the pointy edges. As soon as he snapped out of his thoughts, he regained his balance and leant backwards, falling with a thud back on the cliff, on his back. His breathing has gotten a little heavier. It really was a near-death experience. If he had shifted his bodyweight a little differently, it might’ve been over. Trying to calm himself down, he looked up at the blue sky, covered by just a few pure, white clouds that didn’t seem to bring any rain with them. It’s nice like this. That’s what he thought to himself, his arms thrown to their respective sides, just laying wide on the rock surface, still trying to shake off the thought of what just happened.
