Clouds swirled around the mountain peaks, making their daily appearance above the village of Kumogakure. They were thick grey clouds, teetering on the edge of downpour but not quite there yet. Ame had grown up with that kind of sky above her, and it had never fazed her before. Today however, something felt different. It wasn't a particularly good or bad feeling, but the air was thicker than she was used to and the breeze carried something metallic on it's palette. She couldn't attribute it to the foreigners who had dominated her homeland, as they had been gathering for too long a time. This strange feeling had begun today. She was sure of it. Part of her thought that she was just being paranoid, and the the extra people around were just putting her on edge. It could very well be that. Whenever she descended into the crowds her perception made her get dizzy. The sheer number of electrical signatures was just a bit much for her to handle all at once.

Here in the clan compound it was still quiet. The Ryuzoji lived a secluded lifestyle and it fit most of their personalities well. Ame found that she was starting to prefer being at home more than she liked wandering the streets. It was a strange revelation for her. Her mind was at ease here, and her perception was just a quiet buzz, having already grown so used to the signatures here. She was already dressed for the day, her mother having managed to get her into a more traditional outfit than usual. A pale blue kimono with an intricate silver obi. It fit her like a glove and was easy to move in, something Ame had never associated with the ridiculously pompous outfits. She had been asked (more like commanded) to go out and make good on the family name that day (Ame wasn't aware as to her mother's exact reasoning, but it had had something to do with Ame being her only daughter and never finding a decent husband if she kept on as she was). Her mother had basically ordered her to take a day of from her shinobi lifestyle and visit Mt. Ikkyu for the day. The woman had already left for the resort earlier that morning, stating that if she didn't see Ame there she would personally make sure she was stripped of her rank. The blue-haired girl wasn't sure how her mother planned to accomplish that, but she wouldn't put anything past her.

Ame got up and decided that she didn't have much time to waste. The resort was outside of Kumo, and in her current attire she couldn't run. Walking there would take her time, and her mother was expecting her for lunch. She glanced outside at the swirling clouds, that feeling akin to dread settling firmly in her stomach. Before she left she grabbed a parasol. It was the waterproof kind, as all objects tended to be in Kumo. At least if she was caught in a downpour she'd have something to protect herself with. Fellow clan members barely looked her way as she left home and before long she was among the tourists, barely able to keep her eyes forwards. The constant change was actually beginning to give her a headache, but as soon as she neared the gate the crowd thinned. It seemed that not many people were heading out to the resort that morning. Ame had thought that it was in fact one of the main attractions of the events, but it seemed that people had been wary of the storm clouds and decided to skip it altogether. It only made her journey more bearable.

The path was damp but not muddy and in no time at all Ame was through the woods and into the resort grounds. It was a huge area, filled with shops and hotels and people. Despite living in Kumo her whole life Ame had never visited the resort or any of it's famous attractions before. There were plenty of waterfalls and hot springs to choose from in Kumo, and Mt. Ikkyu was a bit out of the way for her. Despite the overcast weather there were many still milling about along the main plaza, seemingly not bothered. It surprised her, after she had thought that people had not been interested in visiting the resort due to the weather. She was tall enough to see where she was going, thankfully, and already had a place in mind.

Maybe it would be best if she took her mother's advice and take on a day of relaxation for once. She was honestly worn out from Sanosuke's tough training and her own drills. No one could fault her for going to the hot springs. Ever since the surprise of having to train in her underwear with Sanosuke Ame had always brought along a swimming costume with her whenever there was even a hint of water being involved. Knowing her sensei he could pop up out of nowhere and tell her it was training time then and there. She laughed and made her way to where the hot springs were located. They were quite fancy compared to the usual ones she'd been to when in the village. It seemed as if they had one large hot spring rather than separate ones for men and woman. Ame wasn't too confident about that fact, but she knew she was certainly not going to be the only woman in there. She'd just have to deal with it.

They did have separate changing rooms thankfully and Ame hurried to get her kimono off and bathing suit on. She'd have trouble re-doing that obi later, but that was something she'd worry about after she was done. A few other women passed through as she changed, putting her more at ease about the situation. She wasn't one for showing off, and her simple once-piece swimsuit only had a single sets of ties - behind her neck. She knotted it carefully and grabbed one of the complimentary towels before stepping out of the change room.

It was very warm and steamy, so she couldn't see much. She moved off to the side of the pool and set down her towel, slipping into the water carefully. Nearby a group of woman chatted and on the opposite side she could hear a man's laughter. It was a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, and Ame let the weariness soak right out of her.

Someone could probably write a couple of books just to describe this never-ending and majestic landscape which went by the name of Mountain Ikkyu, since it was a location which held a special meaning within the heart of the tourists; a place which was never empty. The amount of people which roamed the streets was astonishing, but predictable, especially within this particular time of the year when the Chūnin Exams were about to take place. Even in the morning you could barely squeeze in between the baffling amount of people in order to move within a place such as this, it was almost impossible to move more than ten meters without risking collision within another person if you were to admire the beautiful scenery that surrounded the base of this mountain. In spite of all of this, Tenzō was not the type of person who would find himself interesting by the surroundings of this place, and the whole area which surrounded the man’s points of interest were nothing more than dull beneath those ebony eyes.

Because of the simple fact that the Uchiha did not visit any kind of touristic establishment lately, especially since there was no one to accompany the young man after the of his own beloved sister, Shiro; Tenzō had chosen to invest a bit more time than usual in relaxation, clearing out those haunting thoughts was most likely the prime goal which stood behind this decision. With a natural, thick and grey ceiling above that head, the silver-haired man was strolling between the crowded streets of Mountain Ikkyu, and being surrounded by a large number of people did not bother the man at all. Actually, the man preferred to live amongst a large number of people; the chances of him being recognized in bowl filled with people were slimmer, and the young man did not wish to build up a name since he preferred keeping a low profile that would not attract any kind of unwanted attention.

The hours dedicated towards sleeping were getting fewer with each passing day, since that turmoil which bewildered that mind was keeping that man awake and stealing that opportunity of catching a good night of sleep. Outside, the jōnin might have not left the impression that there was something wrong with him, but inside, the man was nothing less than a wreckage with kept sinking further down and closer towards the bottom of the ocean upon a daily basis. With a normal and plain attire that was like always jet-black, the tall figure made its way further down the alleys of this place just so that the man may arrive beneath a towering building which looked interesting enough that it craved for the man’s attention.  Apparently, this place was one of the few which offered the luxury of sharing the same spring with a person of the different sex; perhaps, banishing those stressful thoughts was not such a bad idea.

No more thoughts were given within the next decision, and  so the Uchiha began making his way towards the building with a couple of lazy footsteps, before receiving a humble welcoming by what appeared to be a female and a man which chose to open up those massive doors and clear the way so that he may lurk within. The first thing which caught the attention of those ebony eyes, was the back of a young woman which face remained unknown due to the fact that she chose to waltz within the woman’s locker; “Odd, but...” the jōnin mumbled before being interrupted by a man who chose to guide him towards the lockers. That bluish kimono might have been interesting along with that obi which was neatly tied around that thin waist, although, both of those colors were rather pale when placed against that blue and dark hair.

Without really thinking anymore about that person which shone like a bright start upon this black canvas, Tenzō followed within the footsteps of the other person just so that he may be guided towards an empty locker. In a couple of short moments, the silver-haired figure found himself standing against the locker which was opened with a quick jerk from the wrist once that round knob was grasped. Slowly, the man took down his own jet-black shirt before following up the rest of the clothes that where  shoved forcefully without any kind of mercy inside the locker. One may consider this particular jōnin a bit odd due to the fact that the man disliked wearing underwear most of the time; however, a plain and white shorts were given towards him which were going to be paid for at the end of the session.

After a couple of minutes, the room which contained the men’s lockers and Tenzō was now standing behind a translucent door that was made out of a sturdy glass, one which lead towards the room with the hot spring. With basically no hesitation, the door was opened and those ebony eyes were immediately shrouded within this steamy mist, and once the first step was taken inside, those curious orbs descended upon the slippery floor which stood beneath those bare feet. Cautiously, the Uchiha began making  his way towards the edge of the pool with just a simple white towel that was wrapped alongside that thin waist, indeed, the man had chose to leave those shorts back at the locker. It did not matter, the room was already moist and filled with a thick steam which reduced the vision quite significantly.

Continuously, those ebony eyes were scouring the pool just so that they may notice the young woman with the dark blue hair which caused the man to walk forth with a couple of heavy footsteps, arriving at the edge of the pool in just a couple of seconds. Without thinking too much, Tenzō let go of that white towel which cascaded freely alongside that chiseled frame before the man took the first step inside that warm water; shortly, the second followed up as well which brought the man between the other group of males and Ameryuu. With that back of his lashed against the edge of the pool and with those arms hoisted on the margin, the Uchiha gazed towards Ameryuu with those ebony eyes out of curiosity, since she was the only person alone besides him. “I never imagined that this country was lavished by such beautiful scenery. Are you a stranger towards this lands as well?” were the words which came out between those pale lips, words spoken on a suave and curious tone while that head was cocked against the woman.

Ame felt the tightness of her muscles relax slightly as she soaked in the steamy water. Her eyes were half closed as she enjoyed the water; one hand coming up to kneed the knotted muscle at the base of her neck. She let out a soft sigh of contentment at the feeling, followed by a sharp breath as she hit a particularly sore spot. For a moment she let her thoughts wander, taking that calm moment to sort through her muddled thoughts. Her memories had never been tangible objects and slipped through her fingers like the steam rising off the water. They clouded her vision with their intensity at times, choking her so much she came up heaving. It seemed that just being in the springs had let her mind relax in its usual tirade. She was able to sort through them with ease for a moment, not having to worry about slipping into one and ending up screaming. Used to only being semi-aware, Ame was able to keep an eye on her surroundings as she thought, and the sound of someone approaching did not escape her notice. The footfalls were cautious and heavy, but through the thick steam her eyes were unable to discern anything.

A small splash sounded a little ways away from her, informing Ame that someone had indeed entered the water. Only when a deep voice spoke did she completely return to the present, allowing her concentration to fall back into her current situation. Ame turned her eyes towards the man who had spoken, noticing how he was sitting at a respectable distance from her. Judging by his question, he was one of many who had traveled to Kumo recently - whether it be for the exams are some other reason. Ame had not yet had a conversation with anyone not originally from Kumo, at least not in this time of the exams. “Ah, Kumo’s scenery is beautiful, especially at dusk,” Ame recalled her various brushes with sakura petals at sunset. The splendour of it had always taken her breath away to watch, "but I'm not a visitor to this land. A Kumo kunoichi, born and bred." Ame gave a lilting smile. The man's appearance struck her as odd, with his silver hair and pale skin. Common enough colours for any Kumo shinobi, but from how he spoke she was certain he was not of her land. His hair was long, quite a length longer than her own, and Ame brought a hand up to run it through her locks subconsciously.

"Ameryuu, but you can call me Ame." She held out her hand in offering. It was a bit of an awkward place to have a conversation with a stranger, but Ame had had weirder conversations in her time. This was nothing she couldn't handle. "I'm assuming you're a tourist?" She loved to listen to tales about foreign places, if only so that she could form an idea of what they may be like. Travelling had always been a quiet dream of hers, but with her family and 'work' situation, it was likely that she'd never get the chance. Her hope had been that the exams would be held somewhere else in the shinobi world so that she had the opportunity to see at least some of it. But those hopes had shattered once the announcement of the exam location had come through. Of all the places for the event to be held, Kumo had been chosen that year. Ame supposed that it was a good thing for the village, and it allowed her village's genin to play on home turf, but she couldn't help but feel disappointed at not being able to see a pocket of the world, even for a little while.

She just had to bide her time and wait for the right moment. Despite how restrained she felt in Kumogakure at the moment, Ame put little blame on her sensei. He was just looking out for he well-being, really, and he couldn't be faulted for that. But she needed some adventure, just some time to do something crazy and out there that no one would expect of her. As a relatively calm and cool-headed person Ame had expectations of simple acquiesce placed upon her. She had half a mind to throw off those expectations. But this stranger deserved none of that, having only made conversation. So she kept her smile soft and demure, and remained as courteous as always.

A smile was returned by the silver-haired man once Ameryuu mentioned that she was born and raised upon these lands that were basically surrounded by mountains; there were a few in the Land of Fire as well, but they weren’t that towering nor as many as you could find upon these lands. In that moment, the man remembered that there was a certain acquaintance which he made in the past, a young woman which went by the name of Kameko; however, asking people randomly about her would probably not be a wise move. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ame. My name is Uchiha Tenzō.” he spoke on a gentle tone after that right hand of his was extended towards the side, accepting the young woman’s handshake with a firm and solid grip. It did not matter if it was a woman or man, since this particular person would have treated both of them equally when it came towards mutual respect, as such, that hand was shook like in any other case.

Apparently, this particular young lady was quite refined and capable of holding solid grounds within a conversation even in a situation such as this, and the oddness which first struck the man had slowly began to fade away. Because of those eyes, the Uchiha had gotten a bit used to judging a person from the outside before dwelling deeper inside their skin, and judging a book by its cover was not really something that could be considered anything close to the word wise. Actually, it’s more of a matter of circumstances since body language was capable at some times to scream out the truth about a certain individual, while in the rest of the cases all of those gestures are done by the subconscious. Nonetheless, this was not the best time to have such thoughts roam throughout that head, since the reason which brought the man here was the one which included relaxation and not more thinking.

Upon entering this hot spring, the silver-haired man didn’t had the opportunity of seeing that face of hers, but now, the situation was entirely different and the young man was capable of witnessing those dazzling and prominent features. Even when she smiled, that dimple on the upper side of the right cheek was interesting and added a lot of character towards this young lady. Right after both of their hands departed from each other, the Uchiha extended his a bit further with the intention of giving the young lady a gentle tap with just that thin and scrawny index finger against that left shoulder of hers. Those ebony and dull eyes had already descended upon that area, and a couple of words were going to be let out as well “Those are some interesting freckles that you got there, but, I believe that you get this all the time. And yes, you could say that I am tourist as well.” on a cheerful tone whilst the corner of those lips curled upwards, and which at the end took the shape of a genuine smile.

Indeed, those words were truthful and they did not had any kind of hidden motive underneath, since being born with a white skin which turned quite pale recently could be considered rather dull. It was just a white canvas after all, since this particular vessel wasn’t born with hair upon those arms, legs or even the chest. Shaving was not really a problem for Tenzō if there was no hair to begin with, and there was no doubt that the young lads at the academy had mocked the man since he could have easily been mistaken for a young girl at that age. Even if some of the comments might have been rude, the young lad did not took them to the heart and just simply laughed along those who were actually laughing at him and not with him. This might have been one of the reasons why that presence of his was not really seen that often as a young child, and the other was that he enjoyed playing with that sister of his.

The young man was trying to ease up the tension since awkwardness wasn’t really wanted in a situation such as this, but, there was also the possibility that she might have been an important person which should have not been treated so lightly. “I hope that I’m not being too friendly, because, I have seen you before on the main corridor, and your formal clothes did leave behind the impression that you might be someone high on the social status.” the words came out pouring down like a waterfall, while that head of his slowly cocked forth but still keeping the young lady in sight as those eyes were peering from the corner. Perhaps, it would have been better if the jōnin would have asked that before attempting to do anything that may or may not cause discomfort to others.

Just a couple of seconds later, a couple of hostesses made their way inside the steamy room with the intention of picking up any orders from those who lingered inside the pool, and those ebony eyes quickly locked on one. “Excuse me, do you mind coming here for a second?” the Uchiha inquired on a polite tone while those ebony eyes were slowly moving towards Ameryuu, so that he may ask her a question before the hostesses had a chance of arriving and taking the order. “Would you like to share a bottle of wine with me, or is there something else that you might prefer, Ame?” was the question which the silver-haired man left behind, and there was no doubt that this particular person was filled with questions; curiosity was indeed the man’s greatest weakness. It took the hostesses between five to ten seconds to arrive at edge of the pool, and once she did the lady awaited for the order politely; there was no doubt that this place was rather luxurious.
