Following orders was a harsh reality of being a shinobi, even for an elite shinobi like Kenji. Especially when they come from the Raikage, Sano himself. Kenji was rarely called on for such tasks, so he was confident it was urgent. Lately, he was being expected to make cultivating young talent his priority which he had done. He made it his mission to assess and work with both Baki and Ruuvak, two talented prospects, and he was excited to resume training with them. But now it was time for his second job requirement. Diplomacy. And that diplomacy could either be achieved civilly or brutally. This time it was possibly both.

There were two tasks of great importance in Kirigakure. First, he had a message to deliver to Ayakashi, the formidable Mizukage. All he knew about the shinobi was her gender and name... and he assumed since she was a kage... her powers are that of legend. Secondly, there was a certain Kumo nin hanging out in Kiri, and they needed an escort back to the village. Yes, Kenji was also an ANBU operative so that was nothing new.

He had to admit, the possibility of meeting the Mizukage was exciting... and dangerous. Dangerous because... he would be talking with an extremely powerful shinobi of a foreign village... who might deem it politically and military advancing to assassinate a Sanin of a powerful village. Kenji would be alone in their village... so he could be attacked by several Jonin level Kiri nin. Then again, this is why Kenji was chosen. The Chikara nin was not only extremely powerful with technique designed to disable multiple foes, but he was an escape artist. His skills were artfully crafted to deal with situations like this. Not to imply that an ambush would be easy to counter, but it was within Kenji ability to do it.

While traveling, Kenji opted to bring his ANBU armor and mask. Kenji wouldn't wear the mask when meeting with Ayakashi though. He figured presenting himself as the Sanin of Kumogakure would garner much more credibility and respect. As for the kumo nin that he had to retrieve, that would be a job for Kenji the Anbu.

He traveled with his mask in his back pack. On his hip sheathed was his Supa Hane. Tied across his shoulder was his long bow and quiver. Of course he had on his standard utility belt with shuriken, kunai, etc. On his right hand was his ring of Supekutoru. He looked at himself in his gloves of reflection and saw a man who looked like he was on mission.

"Kenji, I've never seen you walk with so much earnest."

Kenji looked back at his giant blue furry combat partner.

"There's the talkative Kasfara I know."

"I'm sorry, I was just a little anxious to speak because of how serious you look." 

"Don't worry, we'll be in Kiri in no time, and then I'll be more relaxed. We both know from experience, the wilderness of Kumogakure is an unpredictable place."

The duo ultimately took their time arriving to Kiri. They arrived on schedule though. The main village was in their sights. It had been quite some time since Kenji was here. The last time was when Seven Bells was terrorizing the town, and Kenji and other Kumo nin fully committed to aiding Kirigakure in the war. Now Kenji was here to facilitate the solidification of an alliance between the two villages.

My meeting with the Mizukage will be underway soon. Hopefully she likes my message. A kage is definitely someone you don't want on your bad side.
