Elements: Earth, Water
Specialization: Ninjutsu
Clan History: The Shokubutsusou clan ( literally meaning "Flora" ) is a clan with the nature transformation kekkei genkai that is a derivative of the first hokage's wood release, thus the Shokubutsusou clan is a distant branch of the Senju clan. The Shokubutsusou and the Senju clans share a history together, as the founding members of the clan were allied with the first hokage. Members of the Shokubutsusou are characterized by their trademark long green hair tied in braids and green eyes and the clan is known for producing shinobi skilled in the art of its unique Kekkei Genkai, Vine Release. While relatively small in number compared to other clans nor as influential, the Senju and Shokubutsusou are in good relation and the Shokubutsusou still remain in Konoha. Today the small Shokubutsusou clan maintains a small nature garden and preserve open to the public.
Kekkei Genkai Description:
Vine Release, similar to Wood Release, is a nature transformation jutsu in which the user combines earth and water elements plus a specialized chakra seed, the formula and harvesting a secret within the Shokubutsusou clan only, to grow and manipulate vines or other plants. The vines are essentially infused with chakra and are controlled by the user akin to a puppeteering method. The trademark long braids of the Shokubutsusou clan act as controls while vines mirror the moves of the braid. Each vine takes a certain amount of chakra to manipulate, depending on the skill level of the user and the number of braids he has, sometimes only 1 vine can be controlled or 2-5 vines can be controlled simultaneously. Vine Release is a versatile jutsu, techniques can vary especially from the types of vines controlled. A normal vine is plantlike and can act like a rope or whip, other vines can wrap around a victim and drain chakra, others sprout flowers with pollen of various effects including a genjutsu type flower that can cause hallucinations to flowers that hold sleeping or paralyzing pollen. The different types of vines come from the arsenal of various chakra seeds the Shokubutsusou clan grows, and as mentioned before the formulas and harvesting are within clan secret only. A Shokubutsusou clan member is never found without a seed pouch to hold their chakra seeds.
Drawbacks: While Vine Release is versatile, it also has some weaknesses. As a user often plants his chakra seeds in the ground, the seeds may not grow very well in nutrient deficient soil or in dry areas, such as a in desert or rocky terrain. A user may combat this by physically bringing soil or fertilizer or water with him or by using an earth/water jutsu to create an ideal soil environment. As the vines are made of plant matter, Vine Release is not very effective against fire jutsus and is vulnerable to extreme temperatures, especially the cold. The vines, being plants are heavily dependent on the environment in which they are planted, their strength varies from a strong suitable nutrient rich soil to the weaker cold, deadened wasteland. Some of the ways to combat the weaknesses of nutrient deficient soil and extreme temperatures is using different types of seeds to grow different vines that have a varied resistant to those weaknesses, though complete immunity can never be reached. Overall, Vine Release is also very taxing on the users chakra, as he constantly expels some to control his vine(s), thus Vine Release cannot last for very long. As the user gains skill, however, he is able to control more vines with a lesser amount of chakra. The vines are stationary to where they are planted, and thus a user has a measured radius around the vines he must remain in order to control them.

Cooldown: Duration+ 3 posts
Description: The User plants a number of chakra seeds in the ground, using Vine Release, a combination of Earth and Water elements, he is able to grow the vines he planted from the seeds, corresponding with the numbered vine technique. (First vine = 1 vine, Second vine = 2 vines and so on). The number of vines also correspond with the number of braids the user has. His braids become the puppetmasters of the vines, he animates them via chakra control and the vines mimick the movements of his hair. A user is not required to always use the exact number of vines for every one of his braids, for example if he has four braids he has the potential to use the Fourth Vine, but he allowed to Second Vine, using only two of his braids to control the vines. He cannot however control more vines than he has braids. The vines can act from whips to slash at opponents to ropes to bind them, similar to extended separate extremities of the user. During this time the user cannot move very far away from the area in which the vines were planted, and the extent of the vines reach is limited to user ability. When this jutsu is finished, the vines quickly wither away and the user is free to move about once more.
- Parasite Flower:
Name: Vine Release: Parasite Flower
Canon/Custom:Custom

Element: Earth, water
Range: 30 m
Specialty:Ninjutsu
Duration: 2 Posts to activate, drains 30 chakra continuously until User's chakra is deficient to provide
Cool down: Can only be used once per thread or until user is healed
Description: Instead of planting the seeds in the ground, the user takes the a certain number of chakra seeds and swallows them. The seeds then grow inside the user, taking nutrients and chakra from his body. The vines take root within the user becoming essentially a parasite to him. This technique is extremely taxing on the user's body and chakra. A large orange-crimson flower with reddish spots grows on the user's back, this flower has no leaves, only petals. When the flower opens, the middle is a hollow hole and the vines (corresponding to the number of chakra seeds the user ate) burst through the hole. These vines are colorless for they do not require photosynthesis to provide their food, which is instead provided by the host body. There is longer a need for the vines to be controlled remotely by braids as they are now directly part of the user. With this direct link, the user is also mobile and no longer bound to fixed position of planted vines. Reaction time between the user's command the vine's execution is faster than ever before. The vines themselves are also stronger and bigger because they have a direct access to nutrients and a live chakra supply. Though the relationship of the vines and the user can be considered parasitic, in exchange for constantly depleting his chakra and the draining of nutrients from his body, the vines become extremely volatile and dangerous to anyone around the user and even the user himself. While the vines are part of the user, the longer they are active the more independent they become from the user. The vines themselves will willingly strike at anyone or anything that may to harm their host body, protecting him as well as it can. The user can effectively control the vines until the they realize that his body may not be able to supply sufficient nutrients to the plant, resulting in the vines searching for another source of chakra or nutrients. if this point is reached before the vines die out, the vines will grab and trap any source of chakra or nutrients they can sense and will literally suck the life out of it, killing it within minutes. Though the substitute "food" that the vines find is not nearly as potent as that found in the direct link from its host body. The vines will act like a starving mad beast on the hunt, while still depleting the user's host body of sustenance. This jutsu is finished only when the vines will have drained chakra and nutrients from the user and can no longer hunt or find another source of nutrients. The vines and flower wither and die, falling away from the user's body. The user himself is on the verge of death, his chakra and life practically gone after using this justsu. The User cannot use this jutsu again until his body is healed and he has sufficient chakra to use it.

Description:The user plants a chakra seed in the ground, the vines grow normally but soon reshape themselves in a humanoid form. The vine clones are controlled by the user and can be used in combat as a defense or tactical weapon. The vine clones can be reshaped to look just like a copy of the user to an entirely different person, the only major difference is that the clone must remain attached to the vine it was created from. Vine clones are connected by a vine sprouting from the nape of the neck area to the ground where their seed was planted.
