Ryuujin woke up really early and very excited. Today he would be doing his very first mission. He was practically bouncing in happiness. Sure it was merely a D-rank mission but it was a mission none the less. He had a quick purple bubble bath, dragged on some clothing then made his way to the kitchen. He had his usual breakfast with cranberry juice before returning to his bedroom. He woke up his Ninneko partner telling her it was time to go. Kai stretched her body before making her way to the door to wait for him. Ryuu grapped some paper, pencils and erasers and placed them in his backpack. He also picked up a flashlight and some chalk, just in case. In case of what he didn't know but it was better to be safe than sorry. He went back into the kitchen and but a bottle of water and cranberry juice into the pack. He considered bringing Mr.Whiskers with him but decided not to. Calling out a good-bye to whoever was still in the house he and Kai left.
His mission today was to explore the country and to make a map wherever he decided to go and he knew the perfect place. It was absolutely beautiful with different varieties of flora and fauna many of which were very rare. The place he wanted to explore was called Rolling Hills and he couldn't wait. By the time he reached Rolling Hills Ryuu's eyes were shining brightly and he was even bouncier that before. He made his way to the highest hill there and sat down taking out paper, a pencil and an eraser and he got to work. Kai sat herself beside him and fell asleep. He gave a little scratch before he started. He drew any and everything that he saw making it extra detailed. He drew the many smooth rounded hills that seemed to go off into the distance. He drew the streams that seemed to weave itself about the area providing water to the plants and the animals that traversed there. When he was done he looked down at the map pleased with himself.
Waking Kai he then made his way down from the hill, exploring the many crooks and crannies here and there and making a note of them on his map. Kai ran off at some point with what looked like a rabbit leaving Ryuu to himself. He dodged various creatures that looked like they could eat him in one bite, noting how they headed for a specific stream. At one point he had made it to a small hill that had a really big weeping willow tree in front of it. If someone asked, he wouldn't be able to explain why he chose to look behind the tree but he did and he was very glad that he had done so for there was an opening there. Placing a little dot one of the hills on his map, he took out his flashlight and made his way through the opening. The inside of the opening (which he decided he would call a tunnel) felt very smooth and yet it did not seem to be man-made. After what felt like hours to him but was merely a couple of minutes he came to the end of the tunnel. He stepped out and looked around to see if he could recognize where he came out at. And he did recognize where he was. He was right where he had started at the highest hill. He took out his map and added a little dot to his starting hill before drawing a connecting line between the two hills.
He once again started his exploration from the biggest hill this time following what seemed to be the main stream. He followed its twists and turns until he found himself at a pond like area which seemed to be a meeting point of animals. There he found Kai and he made a drawing of the pong putting little animal drawings and a note to signify what it meant. He called to Kai telling her he was ready to go and wondering why the animals weren't frightened of him but shrugged. He wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth and he gazed upon the creatures, marveling at the scene of beauty. Kai and Ryuu then left, Ryuu happy with himself with what he had done. And if there were several drawings of pretty flowers and bunny rabbits on the map, well, he was sure there wouldn't be a problem after all a map was a map and every map needed beauty.
