As with any village, the Village Hidden in the Sand was also plagued by drugs, chemicals which either boosted a person's reflexes or physical body at a more exponential cost after, or ones that gave them copious amounts of pleasure simply upon ingestion. While the Hidden Sand was not particularly famous for its drugs, due to its relatively small economy and state of it, not to mention the nature of said economy, it was still noticeable. Drug dealers from neighbouring areas target Sunagakure as it is a growing village, its strength once more showing in the hearts of the younger generation.

Indeed, the younger generation that are to form the pillar of Sunagakure's strength, the ones who will take over the village structure and chain of command one day, and most likely to help the village prosper and flourish even more than it already is, is now targeted by the very people who sought to make gains for themselves regardless of any repercussions their s-called 'gains' could have. It didn't matter to these drug dealers, some of which were Sunagakure civilians and maybe even ex-shinobi in their own right, that their actions would bring the downfall of Sunagakure. No, all they cared about was the profit this would net them, the money they would be able to spend in the short-term at the expense of people who didn't know what they were getting themselves into.

Those were the type of people Fuyuki disliked. It was with this reason that, when Fuyuki had seen the mission request to take out a drug dealer who had been lounging about around Sunagakure's ninja academy, targeting the students there, he had immediately taken the mission. His ears were perked and his mind absorbing every information during the mission briefing, though his face carried the same air of nonchalance that always was adorned.

Apparently, according to the mission briefing, a few students had been caught high. The academy teachers were willing to look at it as an isolated incident, only for twice the number of students to show up high the next day, unable to focus at all in their ninja lessons and requiring immediate medical attention to flush the drug out of their body. The instructors had then been on the lookout, but had been unable to catch the thief, thus theorising that the person handing out these drugs was operating during academy hours. The purchases, transactions, and supply of goods were done at different times. The drug dealer would first receive the request or find his target, of which would later decline and keep it a secret for some reason, or happily oblige. Then, they would place in the money in an area agreed upon previously, and at a later time the buyer would find drugs in said position. It was the only explanation as to why the students were still getting high, yet there was no dealer to be found.

As such, the blonde Kuroka made his way to the Academy thinking of how he could catch the person in the act and assassinate him. It was in the job requirement, after all. Any who plotted Sunagakure's downfall whether intentionally or unintentionally for their own gain was not someone Suna needed alive, no matter in or out of its walls. As such, Fuyuki did not hesitate when he brought the option of killing the person to mind. In fact, part of his complex mind even elaborated on how the person would be killed in the most painful way, extending his pain for lengthy amounts of time, causing the person to suffer for his crimes and feel pain as the last stimuli assaulting his every sense before he died.

One strategy the Kuroka could try was to stakeout. If he could catch the student buying the drugs, he could easily warn the student not to. A little intimidation might be necessary, but nothing that would scar the boy for life or start an international conflict between Suna and Konoha. And, if he caught the dealer in the act, the man was as good as dead. He might have to exercise a little restraint in dealing with the man if there were students around, as they were still unused to the sight of killing someone. However, staking out would not be a viable option as he would need to ensure that the place he was staking out in was the correct one. The Sunagakure ninja academy was not exactly what people was refer to as 'small'. One slip up in location could cost a good few students their health. Also, Fuyuki was not too comfortable with the idea of hiding in the shadows for hours upon hours, waiting for the person who may not even show.

Another strategy he could adopt was to get information out of the students themselves. Surely there was a reason why the students who knew about it failed to report it to the teachers, and even feigned ignorance with innocence when they were inquired about the matter by their various instructors. It could be because quite a few students were in on it, and that bursting the bubble would mean getting a lot of the students in the social circle to be punished. That would be a good reason for the students actually keeping it on the low. But, if the instructors, who were somewhat familiar with the academy students, were unable to get them to spill the beans, what chance did he, a stranger to Sunagakure, much less its people and students, have to grind out the information he needed from the sealed lips of the students?

That left one strategy that would be most optimal. He would have to pose as a student in the Sunagakure ninja academy to blend in better with the students. It may take a while if he was unlucky, but the students should open up to him soon enough and begin sharing with him the information of how the entire operation worked. Of course, he was hoping too much if he thought they knew what they were doing was wrong not only to themselves, but to their village as well. And maybe it was too stereotypical to put all the students in the same boat. If what he had heard was correct, only the graduating classes were affected by this.

With that, he went straight to one of the instructor's offices. The Sunagakure shinobi was a little skeptical of him at first, but after hearing his plan and seeing as he had several classes to hurry to, the man quickly relented and introduced Fuyuki to the class as a shinobi dropout who had decided to participate once more in the shinobi forces. Fuyuki was a bit embarrassed when the introduction was made, as quite a lot of students snickered at his misfortunate of having, as the instructor put it, failed the academy six times.

After the introduction, he was seated next to a brunette boy with a talkative mouth. He suspected it was set up by the instructor so he would be able to get as much information as easily as possible. However, he could not gather the desired information with the following two classes taking up a majority of his time, one detailing the history of Sunagakure from the reign of the first Kazekage to that of the current one, Suzume Koga. It explained what each Kazekage had done for the village, and he was amazed by two individuals in particular – Gaara, who had initiated the Sand's 'revival', as he liked to put it, and one Gin Kuroka, the Kazekage prior to Suzume, who was also the head of the Kuroka clan.

She was the one who had most likely executed his father, ending his life for speaking out of line. Fortunately, his mother and he had escaped, earning themselves a few years living on the run before they were confronted by the Kuroka clan, the confrontation of which cost Fuyuki the mother he loved and thrust the fate of wandering alone with no aim in life upon the young Kuroka's shoulders. Fuyuki personally held no malice towards the head of the Kuroka clan – her disappearance left her fate to be known – but he believed that the head of the clan had a reason for doing what she did, and in respecting his mother's wish, he held no contempt for her and instead focused on what he wanted in life.

The other class had been boring, focusing on ninja tactics, all of which were strictly academy-level so as to not over-strain the young minds of students. Fuyuki almost fell asleep in class, a feat which rewarded him with the various snickers of the students who believed that his slacking off was the very thing that kicked him out of the active program, and that even though he was now determined to try again, he was repeating his mistakes far too early.

At last, recess came, and Fuyuki hurried to the closest social circle he could see, which surprisingly also included the talkative boy he had been introduced to at the beginning. It had been boring at first, with each of them hiccuping up rumours as to who was with who, who broke who's heart, who pooped on who, and who was bullied by who, until one of the kids asked about how they could get more drugs. Fuyuki's ears perked open and he expressed his interest as well, and lo and behold, within two minutes he knew to look at the weapons' shed.

He accompanied a young boy to the shed, where he found a suspicious figure hiding. It would make sense that the person was hiding in the weapons' shed, the place where mostly broken equipment was kept. No one ever went in there, so the dealer had the entire place to himself. The sliding open of the door revealed a dark figure that Fuyuki had no recognition of. Fuyuki graciously told the boy he wanted to negotiate a new deal with the drug dealer, something the dealer was suspicious of, but instantly agreed to and shooed the other boy out upon seeing the hundreds of ryo Fuyuki produced.

It was when the door was shut that the man dropped to the ground as a sharp blade of wind cut into his back.

Wind Release: Slash,” Fuyuki whispered.

It was a simple task, following that, to bring the unconscious man's body to the instructors while keeping out of sight of the students. They had been rather surprised at the speed of which he had accomplished things, much less since he had desired to pick a method which usually required much, much more time than what he had demonstrated. Fuyuki just grinned his little grin, and walked out of the shinobi village, hands shoved into his pockets and a stupid grin plastered onto his face.

Time to collect his reward.
