Nanashi's eye fluttered open it being greeted with the sight of darkness, that consumed everything it touched. Momentarily he wonder where exactly where he was at, till he remember that he were staying in one of the barracks that had been provided to foreign shinobi who were helping Kirigakure in this war against Seven bells. This particular set barracks were assigned to Iwagakure shinobis, who had came along to aid the country. While it didn't concern him must, Nanashi was surprised of the lack of Iwagakure shinobi that actually came to the aid of another country. The barracks themselves were relatively empty, with only a few shinobi that weren't Anbu had been seen around the establishment. The fact that there were so few shinobi from Iwagakure their was a little bit annoying but he had seen with his own eye or eye that self-preservation reigns superior in some of those in the younger generation. Of course there was another reason why many didn't show.
He knew that there was still some animosity between the Iwagakure and Kirigakure for reasons that didn't concern him at all, but that still didn't stop him from aiding the country in need. Some would say it's because he was a medic and has an innate quirk that forces him to help others. Those who knew him would laugh at such a foolish suggestion, and say that he came to Kirigakure on a whim that he could kill others, the individuals who would say that were his mother and those who stayed at the Tea House, for they are the only ones who truly knew him. And those in the Anbu would say that he didn't allow the past to dictate his actions and would put a grudge to the side if the bigger picture is good. The last two answers were correct, and it was the main reasons why he came to The Mist aid. It had nothing to do about the Tsuchikage sending him along with a team of Anbu here.
It does nothing to think about them.” He mused to himself, having just gotten out of the bed, a stinging pain shooting through his body as his bare feet slapped against the cold wooden floor. “Seems like it's going to be a cold day. . .” He thought to himself, sending a small chakra pulse throughout his room, activating the heat warming seals that were sporadic placed within the room. Nanashi were a fickle person, while he slept peacefully in cold weather, he couldn't stand it doing the early mornings, especially when he was getting ready for the day. It's was just one of the quirks that he had about him. Moving towards the bathroom Nanashi began to take care of his hygiene, exiting the room once done and begin to get dressed in his Anbu gear. Once that was done, the silver haired man took out all his senbons, kunai, shuriken, etc. making sure all of them were sharp, those that weren't was taking to a nearby whetstone, and they were return back to their previous sharpness. The sharpening of his weapons was something that he always did, one could never had a dull weapon, for a dull weapon could cause you your life and Nanashi didn't plan on dying because of a faulity weapon. As he were putting them back into their respective places, there was a knock on his door.
Knock Knock Knock
Opening the door, Nanashi head tilted at the Kirigakure shinobi that were standing there before him “What can I do for you?” He asked the mask distorting his voice.
Void-Sama the commander wants to see you ASAP.” Nanashi nodded at the message, sending an additional chakra pulse through his room and deactivating the warming seals and activating the security ones before following the Kirigakure Shinobi to the commander's office.
XxXxXx
The walk to the office was quiet for the most part, neither shinobi talking to each other, their minds being preoccupied with something else. For Nanashi he was thinking about what exactly the commander wanted him for. While he have never been in the presence of the commander he has seen her walking amongst the barracks, talking to shinobi, at times. Yes, the commander of this sector was female and from what he could gather a well respected one. Unlike man chauvinistic men he didn't have a problem receiving orders from a woman, in some cases he find them to be more level headed than men. “No only that they are better to look at. . .” He mused to himself, the pair having arrived to the base of operation and began to long list of security checks that was mandatory for all who come into the establishment. One can't be to safe doing war. . .
Stopping a front of the commander's door, the Kirigakure shinobi, who had been with him through it all, knocked on the commander's door.
Come in.” The voice of the commander came through rather clearly, the pair ushering themselves into the room where the woman in charge was sitting in her desk, staring at them both. Never the one to beat around the bush, Nanashi or Void as he goes by when wearing the mask stepped forward and asked the question that has been bugging him from sometime now “You call for me?”
The commander nodded, shuffling some papers around on her desk before scribbling something down on a piece of paper and handing it to a nearby guard who after read it left the room “Yes. Due to your efforts in this war, I will be promoting you to the rank of Jounin. My promotion of you will be sent to your Tsuchikage who will most likely agree with it after I send in my assessment.” She said waiting for the man's reaction.
And true to being an Anbu there wasn't any visible reaction, though he was excited that he had got promoted for his efforts, this meant he would be one step closer to his goal “Thank you for the promotion.” he said, bowing in respect.
No need for thanks, you deserved it.” The woman said with a smile, which soon turned to stone as she locked eyes with the Anbu before him “The really reason I called you here is because I have a mission for you and another. We're aware that there are some new face in our midst, they are on high alert, though they must be lying in wait for something, some cue, or moment to attack. Locate theses spies and either eliminate them or capture them alive. This is the mission do you accept?”
Yes, I do.” Nanashi said with a bow, mind already going through who he wanted to do this mission with, and a smirk couldn't help but to dance across his face and it seemed like the smirk was visible to the commander or she just knew what he was thinking.
I take it, you want Aisu Iyata to be your partner?” She asked, answering the unspoken question and receiving a nod from the man “Well it's just my luck that she has been called here as well. You will meet her outside, debrief her and complete this mission.” With nothing else to be said Nanashi briskly walk through the building, finding himself outside and leaning against the wall waiting for the woman to show. No sooner after the woman showed up, he would debrief her on their objective and go about finding theses spies.

Iyata ran down around the corner and saw a ghastly figure rise up from the ground before her, without taking the image into her brain she quickly skidding to a halt took a sharp right running down the entire length of the alleyway jumping over a garbage can and once more breaking out into the main street. She looked up in horror at the massive fires that erupted all over Kiri, tears swelled in her eyes dropping down to the ground beneath her. She turned and looked upward once more to see the ghastly figure approaching her like a poltergeist from the air threatening to consume her in the darkness that was his body.

Iyata quickly spun around and continued to run down the main street looking around frantically for anyone that would help her, they needed to fight in such a worse way. They needed to defend their home and kill the invaders and the quicker they were about doing that the quicker life could return to normal. Iyata looked into the distance and witnessed a sight that brought chills to her very core, The Mizukage’s head was mounted on a pike including all the Sannin and strongest Shinobi of her village. Near the Mizukage was Kaguza-Sensei’s head displaying a horrific scene. Iyata dropped to the ground wrapping her arms around herself in the middle of the street, her face twisted and distorted in pain and sadness tears streaming down her face.

The darkness quickly descended around her wrapping the cloak of darkness around her.

Iyata lunged forward out of her bed screaming “NOOO!!” She quickly had her eyes dart around the room looking around in a complete panic looking for anything…someone. She threw the blanket off her body jumping out of bed wearing her tunic and pants she quickly ran towards the exit of the tent and pushed open the flaps, the beams of light that hit her eyes made her wince away in pain covering them up with her forearm. She looked around at the Ninja of Kiri and other nations going about their normal duties in uniform fashion. Iyata coughed back a soft cry and quickly retreated back into her tent and walked over to her bed and placed herself back on the bed and folded her knees up against her chest wrapping her arms around them tucking them close to her. She began to breath slowly reminding herself it was all but a dream.

“Miss Iyata, you have been requested at the Command Center. You have another mission.” Iyata looked up between sweat and tear soaked strands of pinkish purple hair at the young Ninja outside her tent. She took a moment to calm the trembling of her voice and answered in response, “Tell them I will be there shortly..p-please.” She had managed to shake out of her throat. The ninja did not say anything more she was sure that he had heard her, but knew better then to ask. Iyata closed her eyes as the Ninja retreated further away from her tent allowing her the space. Iyata stood up and walked over to her chest and began to dress herself in her usual White and Pink garments. Iyata looked at Garuka hanging up neatly in the corner and she walked over and pressed her forehead against the puppets head and took a moment to gather her thoughts before placing him once more on her back his legs and arms reaching around her frame and locking in place.

Iyata stepped out of the tent sweeping the flaps aside as she strode out, as the flaps fell behind her she took off at a run moving towards the command center. Iyata quickly rolled in between the trees feeling that with each movement she took the bad feeling was draining off her body like the sweat from he pores. She saw the command center in the distance and quickly closed the distance between her and the building and lunged up over the final tree and landed at the gate. She walked up to the line submitting herself to a security check as they checked her chakra levels and signs and made sure they confirmed she was who she looked and claimed to be.

Iyata quickly strode towards the main tent and saw Nanashi in his Anbu uniform…I mean Void standing just inside the tent and turned as she walked in the Commander walking away from Void. Iyata canted her head softly and walked towards Void and smiled to him softly, “Hello Void it is nice to see you again, am I correct in assuming that they have paired us up once more?” She asked already knowing the answer, they would have been stupid not to put this two together, they were a remarkable team when pinned down and had managed some great results. Besides their training had went well together, they were learning more and more about their abilities together as a team. She was beginning to think how sad she would feel when Nanashi would end up going back to his homeland after this war was concluded and done. It was not a thought she relished even though he had extended a long standing open invitation to come visit him in Iwagakure. That invitation meant a lot to her but the two of them were in amazing team, she honestly thought that maybe she should look into joining ANBU herself. She entertained the notion for a moment before she was shot back into reality.

Iyata looked over the casualty reports that were coming in, she walked over to the desk and began to read over the names looking for people that she knew. She had come a cross a few names that she did in fact know, however they were not close, merely met and exchanged a few words here and there, however her heart did not feel any less heavy at seeing the reality of what was happening in her village. She sighed softly and said a silent prayer for them before walking back over to Void and standing at the ready, “What do you need from me?” she asked with conviction.

Names, names and more names. The lone eye of Guanyin Nanashi scanned across the brown piece of paper that had a detail list of potential and confirmed spies that were amongst the ranking shinobis who were fighting in the current war. Said paper was rather detailed in providing much needed information regarding each individual, their age, gender, rank, a recent photo, and some other misc. information that they had deemed important at the time of the constitution of this scroll. Nanashi recognized quiet a few of the names that were on the paper, as he skimmed through them, waiting for his partner in crime to arrive. Those who he knew had been those who, while never fought together, had shared a meal and laugh with them only just a day ago. And to think that the person who he had talked to and respected as an equal was working with the enemy in bringing the downfall to Kirigakure, their home, was unnerving to say the least. Of course not everyone on the list were from Kirigakure there was quite a few that were from other villages as well, and this caused him to raise his eye brow slightly. How did Seven Bells plant spies in other villages, without anyone knowing it? When exactly did the tyrant make contact with the people to turn them? And why was it now that theses spies, who have remain hidden perfectly amongst the ranks, make a mistake, stumble, unknowing exposing themselves to the enemy? Either it was a honest mistake on their part, or Seven Bells planned for them to be found out. “It would make sense.” He mused to himself, mesmerizing the given information on the scroll.

If there was one way to cause chaos and discord amongst a group of people who all united for a common goal, it was to cry spy. Saying that their were potentially spies amongst the ranks, will causes others to distrust the person standing beside them, believing that they might be an enemy. Rumors will spread like wild fire, people theorizing who or who not are spies, and always acting suspicious around one another. In short utter chaos would erupt within the ranks, and it would be up to the respective leaders to try and quell the rising tension within their solider ranks. And Nanashi couldn't help but to think that this was exactly what Seven Bells wanted to happen. Add on the fact that theses spies has apparently 'stumbled', discreetly exposing themselves to others, and allowing for information to be gather on them, it would just add fuel to the fire. The suspicion of one another will continue, for there was no way in hell that this list comprised of every spy within the ranks. Speaking of spies. . .” looking over the list once again, many of theses spies were of a lower rank, all being genin and chuunin level, this made since for while they might not be allowed into meetings they were usually teamed up with higher ranking shinobi who gave them details about the war and in theory they could slip away from their leaders and report in to whoever they might be under. For who would expect a genin or chuunin in being a spy?

Before he could continue committing the names to memory, his head snapped up towards the security gate, a smile dancing across his face as he locked eyes with Iyata who were currently going through the security measures. Yep and he totally forgot about the commander that was standing beside him, talking to him about the mission that he and Iyata would be doing. Hey! The man was busy, he was trying to commit all theses names to memory, so don't blame him. Rolling up the scroll, Nanashi waited patiently for the woman, who had just finished going through the checks, and heading his way.

“Hello Void it is nice to see you again, am I correct in assuming that they have paired us up once more?”

As always his head tilted to the right, the smile still present on his face “Yep, got it in one. We are paired up once again, and from what the commander told me, we will be paired together in most cases. We are simply just to good of a team.” He said, the upper echelons weren't stupid in breaking up a tandem that worked so perfect together. It's common knowledge amongst the ranks that the pair worked extremely well together. When pinned down, they always managed to find a way to overcome the odds and succeed in their given mission. Interesting enough on a tactical standpoint they complemented each other well. Nanashi having both the Katon and Raiton element, and Iyata having the Suiton and Fuuton, both which can empower the silver haired man only techniques. If that didn't work the woman had an additional element, which can cause troubles for anyone. Yes, they were the perfect team and it was kind of unnerving how well two people from different villages could work so well together.

“What do you need from me?”

Iyata's words snapped him back to attention, his gaze locking onto hers that were full of conviction, it seemed like she had read the list of potential and confirmed spies amongst their ranks. And despite them being spies, she still seem to care about them, even if it was a little “We have been assigned to root out a couple of theses spies.” He said, handing her the spies they were in charge of find “As you can see they usually hang out together on the very outskirts of the barracks when they aren't on duty. And it's just our luck that they aren't on duty and have been spotted at their typical hang out spot. And that's where we will be going. There's a bonus for capturing them alive, I would prefer that method seeing how it shouldn't be that much trouble seeing they are just genin and chuunin rank.” Once she had collected her thoughts, Nanashi began moving towards the security gate, getting scanned all over again before allowing to leave, with his partner beside him.

Seeing how they wasn't any rush to get to the given location, Nanashi walked besides Iyata in a leisurely pace, every now and than glancing at the woman beside him. There was something off about the woman before for the life of him, he couldn't put his finger on it, deciding to put that aside for now promotion “If you where there only a few minutes earlier, you would have seen me promoted to Jounin or at least in the eyes of Kirigakure, but the commander said she would send in the recommendation to the Tsuchikage, who will most likely agree.” He said leaving out the parts that he has been a special jounin for over five years, the Tsuchikage having been bugging him about not asking for a promotion. Nor did he mentioned that he and his kage was friends on a personally level, at least not yet anyway.
Upon arriving to the location of where the spies hung out, Nanashi's lone eye scanned across the given area. The area itself was surrounding by trees, with a small pathway that led into the circular clearing, and it was within that clearing were voices could be heard, talking about anything and everything. Turning his attention to Iyata and pointed up to the trees, before jumping into the nearest one, and landing on a branch, his head looking downward into the clearing, noticing the four shinobi down there who were all lounging around and simply talking, once Iyata had join him on the branch he spoke “You take two and I take two?” He inquired, waiting for her answer before acting. Despite being in charge of the mission, Nanashi didn't particularly care much for leadership, he having always been incline to ask the opinions of others who he was working with.

“We have been assigned to root out a couple of theses spies.”

Iyata took the dossiers on the spies they were charged with looking for, Iyata opened up the scrolls and began reading down the lines of the information that had already been gathered for them, she casually began to commit each of the spies facial information to her memory. She could not believe that people would willingly help out the Seven Bells it did not make any sense for her, they were a band of cut throat mercenaries and all around evil people that honestly was the low of the low. How could anyone honestly get behind someone who their only agenda was to create strife and pain for those around them. She scrolled the dossiers back up and handed them back to Nanashi.

“As you can see they usually hang out together on the very outskirts of the barracks when they aren't on duty. And it's just our luck that they aren't on duty and have been spotted at their typical hang out spot. And that's where we will be going. There's a bonus for capturing them alive, I would prefer that method seeing how it shouldn't be that much trouble seeing they are just genin and chuunin rank.”

Iyata nodded her head softly, “Counter intelligence would be plentiful if we were to capture them and bring them back for questioning. Not only would we be able to gleam how much they know about our opposition it would provide us with an opportunity to see what we can find out about the Sevens Operations.” She nodded her head firmly getting behind the idea of pulling these Nin kicking and screaming back to the Command Center. The idea made her smile ever so slightly in a very perverse way she wanted to make sure that all the Ninja aligned with Seven Bells would receive the punishment they were afforded for all their acts within this war. She only wished she could of done more to help with the war in terms of ending the stupid thing, at this point in the same she felt like she was merely keeping up with the jones’s or playing catch up.

The two of them with a clear understanding of what needed to be accomplished walked out of the center and once more headed towards the security check line as they were being checked out as they left. Iyata stuffed her hands into her pockets and looked around the area slowly keeping a vigilant eye out for those around her making sure that they were not being spied upon. As they walked together Void provided her with an update regarding himself that she did not find surprising in the least.

“If you where there only a few minutes earlier, you would have seen me promoted to Jounin or at least in the eyes of Kirigakure, but the commander said she would send in the recommendation to the Tsuchikage, who will most likely agree.”

Iyata smiled softly and patted Void on the shoulder, “Well congratulations! I do not believe there is a more deserving person, besides how could they not after all you have done..”She said with confidence in his abilities and more so his accomplishments that he has been so skilled with since coming to Kirigakure. I mean between the two of them, they were successful in repelling a puppet invasion, they were able to locate the source of the puppets and stopped multiple teams of Ninja heading towards the center section of the city all with the help of miscellaneous individuals but bottom line it came down to the two of them. Iyata was not concerned about earning her own promotion at this point. She still felt she had much to learn from her teacher Kaguza-Sensei and others around here therefore getting to Jounin was not on her must do list.  Also with the fleeting idea of potentially wanting to look into joining ANBU she had a lot on her mind. This war was changing many different aspects in her life not just whether or not the village would remain standing. It was changing things about where her future laid, she knew that she would continue down the path and wanting to join the Seven Swordsmen but what other little forks in the road she could travel to get there she wondered.

Iyata heard the conversation happening in the clearing as soon as Void had, they looked to one another and as Void motioned to the trees she nodded her head silently. Iyata launched herself off the ground and scaled the tree expertly like she had been doing this her entire life, which to be fair was accurate seeing as she grew up in this village. As they found branches stable enough to support their weight but also high enough to get a view of the clearing she looked upon the area, she quickly took the numbers down in her head and looked to Nanashi as he indicated.

“You take two and I take two?”

A stiff nod of her head and the two of them sprung into action. She made a series of seals as she flew towards the ground and hit it running. Massive amounts of crystals began to form in the sky above and slowly began to fall from the heavens in large clumps of Hail and snow causing the Ninja caught in the clear to suddenly spook afraid of what was happening. The hail began to pelt all four of them in the head disorienting them not knowing what was going on leaving two of them open for The Angel of Death. Iyata went full long into her group and began to exchange blows with them. She was successful in catching them off balance causing them to collide and crash into one another. Iyata stopped her attack a moment only to once more continue the assault however this particular assault was going to be extremely effective for what they were trying to accomplish.

Iyata weaved a series of seals with her hands, swiftly did nature change as if often does. The hail and water within her surrounding environment suddenly began to shift and gather around her freezing immediately and turning into what only could be considered a massive glob of ice snow above her head. Iyata swung her hands forward sending a cascading avalanche of snow and ice careening down the area smacking straight into the Ninja that were in front of her. The Ninja had absolutely no chance in being able to dodge it, it moved so fast that it caught them entirely off guard. One of the Ninja sadly was completely buried underneath the snow breaking every body in his body and worse of all caused him to suffocate. However the other Ninja that was caught in the Avalanche was buried up to his chest and pinned against a group of trees holding him in place.

Iyata quickly jumped into the air and began firing streams of water from her mouth and onto the snow turning it instantly into Ice freezing the man to the tree it what could comically be referred to as a large ice cube. Iyata touched back down looking over at Nanashi to see if he needed her assistance as her two were disposed of.

Nanashi watched almost impassively as his partner began going through a series of hand signs, finally landing on one that wasn't familiar to him, before jumping down to the ground and sprinting towards the downed men, who still haven't realize the danger they were in. His eyebrow arched a little, it being obscured by his mask, what exactly the hand signs did. The heavens seem to answer the unspoken question for the silver haired man, opening up and releasing a large torrent of crystals and snow upon the surrounding area. The hail and snow pelting everything in the vicinity with a righteous fury, startling the men before, and disorienting them, as they wondered what the hell was going on. Nanashi couldn't help but to shake his head at the woman's antics, she charging headlong into the fray of disorienting men. He would have thought that Iyata would have used her stealth to quickly take them out, but apparently the woman had other ideas. Not like it matter to him, the men below apparently didn't have any weapons on them.
Guess I should do my part.” He mused to himself, jumping down from the branch, and moving towards the pair of shinobi that his partner graciously left for him. Not really wanting to drag this out any longer than necessary, chakra began to build up in his throat before being expelled in a fine mist in the direction of the two shinobi who had made the mistake of being close together. The odorless and tasteless mist made contact with the two individuals, getting absorbed into their skin via the expose spores on their face, or through their nasal pathways. The effects of the mist happen instantaneously, with the pair beginning to feel drowsy, before succumbing to a deep sleep, their bodies falling to the ground like puppets who strings had been cut. Moving towards the peaceful sleeping spies, he checked their pulse to make sure that they were actually asleep, before prying open their maws and searched for something. “There it is. . .” ripping off a piece of cloth from one of the down men, Nanashi covered his fingers with it before snatching out an oddly shape tooth from both of their maws. To the ordinary person they would wonder why he took out a tooth from their mouth, but if one was to look closely at the removed tooth they would see that it's actually a capsule, and within the capsule was a liquid base cyanide type poison, that's commonly used amongst some shinobi who fear of capture cause them to bite into the capsule and releasing the poison, causing death. Nanashi having dealt with others who used the capsule knew how quickly the poison takes effect, along with knowing where they are usually hid on a person's body. Thus was the reason why he knew were to look
Having safetly removed the capsules, Nanashi turned his attention to his partner and sweat-dropped at the ice cube on the tree. “Did she really need to do that?”He mused to himself, moving towards the frozen man “You know, most spies have a suicide pill on their person some place or another.” He said as he casually open up the man's mouth and ripped out a tooth from his mouth “Usually they hide it in the mouth. The suicide pill is usually some liquid form cyanide, a nasty but quick acting poison.” showcasing the tooth to the woman along with the other two “And I will bet my life that the one dead member had one as well.”
Pocketing the capsules in his pocket, he pulled out a communicator and radioing in and tell the base that they have secured three members, two which would need to be waking up via medical ninjutsu and the other needing to be thaw out “ So any reason why you made him into an ice cube?” He asked with humor in his voice.

Iyata looked over to see Nanashi had taken care of his group of miscreants and nodded her head gently as he made his way back over to see about her members. She stood next to the ice cube attached to the tree and smiled to Nanashi as he approached the two of them. She began to explain a few things that she had never even stopped to consider about the fact that these people were hiding kill pills inside their mouths. She sighed softly at her slip up, but you had to give her a break it was her first war and she was not use to a lot of the cloak and dagger aspects of this war. Iyata smiled softly and nodded her head as he explained to her the information she would need to store in the future.

You know, most spies have a suicide pill on their person some place or another. Usually they hide it in the mouth. The suicide pill is usually some liquid form cyanide, a nasty but quick acting poison.”

Iyata nodded her head gently making sure she remembered that little diddy of information for the future in case she ran against something similar as today. As he inquired to the other Nin at her side she smiled softly and, “Oh…he wanted to chill out and hang around for a minute…”She commented with a chuckle. She could see that she was successful in getting Void to smile as well and nodded her head gently, “Lets get these guys back to the center yeah?” She asked and pulled the man off the tree and pushed him forward to get walking.

As Iyata walked with Void and their prisoners she felt a very large weight lift off her shoulders as she was starting to see the end to this silly war.
