Dead
Rooting out Spies:

Receiving an important notice from a random instructor who had no time on his hands. He did not take too long and read his mission carefully. He was walking around the market place while he grabbed some ramen while it looked peaceful, some of the shinobi here right now could be traitors. He was given notice and told to meet up with fellow shinobi Kitahara Keiko. He took his time to look over the picture before walking around a bit realising this would be difficult.

You could smell blood from the roof tops where many battles had occured. He began to sweat slightly but noticed some suspicious people smiling in an alley way. In the times they were in now smiling was the last thing anyone should be doing right now.

He did not let them notice that he was on to them as he approached carefully. He watched them from the corner not letting himself stick out too much. He noticed they had a lot of kunai as the one man was fiddling with it repeatedly.

"Kitahara Keiko, where are you?" He grits his teeth as he notices them start to walk out of the alley. He follows them from a distance trying to not let on that he is following them. It also helped that his kirigakure headband was hidden, in order to let them think he is just some curious kid. This may not have been too far from the truth, but he knew he had to be careful and tha anything could happen. He was unsure how strong they were or what techniques they could use. All he knew was that they had a large number of kunai, he later noticed the one playing with an explosive tag. By the way they were acting at most they would be strong genin or weak chunin. Either of these would make them stronger than him on his own.

He nearly bumped into an old lady who he helped for a while. He nearly lost them as they were seeming to be heading for the Admin offices of Kirigakure. With the number of kunai for killing large numbers of witnesses and the explosives they had on them. He finally realised they must be planning to destroy the Kirigakure Headquarters. His mission was to find and capture or if he had to kill the spies but he knew he needed Keiko. He never met her and was thinking whether she would be an old lady or a nice girl.

They finally stopped for a while to get some meat from a shop that was still open although half destroyed. They stopped inside and began to eat. He knew he could not go into that adult meat joint, but what if they planned to destroy this shop instead to cut off food supply. He went to sit by the window and he glared at the owner who was about to shoo him away.

Ren had come to this meat joint one other time in order to deliver wine from the vineyard. The owner knowing Yuzu well ignored him and Ren watched over the men from the window waiting for them to act and waiting for Keiko.

Sleep.

That was the only thing that she yearned for at this very moment. A couple hours back in her own bed, without the threat of her mind working itself even when unconscious. But since the puppet attack the day before, she had been up, spending most of the previous day helping out with fighting off the strange humanoid puppets with no puppeteer in sight. From what she had gathered, groups of puppets had targeted the most important and populated areas of the village, including the administration building, the hospital, and the residential district. Keiko herself had been occupied by the administration building, and that little battle had made her quite aware of her inability to fight against people that weren't really … well, people. She had gone on to help organize the panicked people inside the building, and it was late at night that it was declared all puppets were wiped out, but with the devastating losses to their residential district. Keiko didn't consider herself extremely loyal the village, but that didn't mean these losses didn't affect her. And even when she finally returned home that night, she had received not a single wink of sleep, the thoughts of the eerie puppets and sounds of people screaming in fear still haunting her.

She was almost relieved when the doorbell rang early the next morning with a messenger delivering new orders. At least it was organized enough that there were orders being given now, as opposed to the surprise attack yesterday. Sleep would have to wait. The information being relayed was short, she was to meet a young genin and possibly others to help root out spies that were potentially giving information to whoever was behind yesterday's attack. Discovering them and bringing them under custody would undoubtedly delay the enemy's plan … even if it was just by a tiny amount. No matter - any attempt at buying the higher ranked shinobi more time to attack back had to mean something.

First, she would have to locate this Yuzu Ren, who was apparently somewhere in the marketplace … which wasn't helpful at all. Taking off at a run, she took the now familiar shortcut towards the destination that her little partner had last been headed towards, weaving in and out of crowds of people to scan for … Wait. Did that messenger just say … a ten year old? I'm going to be babysitting? In that moment of realization - apparently her mind had been so focused on the details of the mission rather this piece of information regarding Ren - she skidded to a stop, but at that moment, a startling tuft of blonde hair caught her attention. That was it, that had to be it. Taking a moment to control her breathing, which had picked up during her run, she casually strolled up to Yuzu Ren, smiling cheerfully like she was greeting a younger brother. It looked as though he was studying something intently, so she carefully followed his gaze, locking on to two individuals sitting inside the store eating. Okay, so those two were likely the spies. At least this kid had done well enough to trail them without being caught.

"Ren, right?" She asked quietly, turning her back against the window to not look suspicious. As long as one of them kept an eye on them, it should be fine. Having both of them stare into the store would no doubt alert the two ronin of their presence. "I'm Keiko, and I believe I was sent to assist you." This kid better prove useful, even if he just didn't get in her way would be helpful enough … if he could do more than that, then it would be much appreciated. But even as she was giving him her introduction, the two ronin stood up to pay, and had walked out of the store, heading right to the path that would lead up to the administration building. Keiko's lilac eyes followed their turned backs, knowing that the path would lead to a quiet area before going up towards the administration building. It would be the ideal time and location to apprehend them. Nodding her head towards the ronin, she signalled to Ren that it was probably best that they moved now to keep up with the supposed spies.

Dameon had been having a nice and relaxing day at the bath house when he had been called into duty. On top of that he had been charged with finding another shinobi to accompany him. So he had simply grabbed another shinobi that had been at the bath house with him. The letter Penpen had collect from his house had simple instructions of the mission they were sending him along with the notice that they needed his keen eye sight and ability to deduct and tactically evaluate mission critical situations. He was beginning to see that the village was recognizing his talents to some extent or that someone had put in a good word for him the day prior. He wouldn’t know who had done it though or if that was actually the case. He would arrive before the other shinobi that was coming to meet them for the mission as well. He had briefly described it to them back when they were first leaving the bath house.  Now he was looking for Keiko, this would be the second time they had worked on a mission together and the third day he had seen her in a row. Keiko was becoming a regular site to him now and quickly found her amongst the street of the market place.

He quickly spotted the small group of men they were eyeballing and suspecting were the spies. In truth though they could have simply been Kiri ninja on their daily routine. Laughter was important these days it kept spirits high when it seemed as if no hope existed. Even with the degree of weapons they carried they could simply be regular ninja. The only way to completely figure out whether or not they were spies was to get closer or engage in a conversation with them directly. As he watched them walk further and further away he turned to Keiko and the younger boy that she was with that looked like he still belonged in the academy not out fighting in the war. What had their village come to that they needed the assistance of such young new shinobi. He would make a serious effort to protect him if things went south of course he would make the effort to protect all of them.

“Keiko, I need to get in closer to them to see if they are actually the people we are looking for. We have no hard evidence that they are the spies. In fact I’m questioning why spies that had a sabotage objective would be so reckless as to be out in the open and exposing their weapons. If I were a spy I would be taking extra precautions at a time like this where they were supposedly so close to completing their objective. Something doesn’t seem right. I can ask them a series of questions and know if they are lying or not. I think that is probably our best plan of action at the moment. I’m sure you know why they sent me because I have very good eyes for telling these kinds of things, you’ve actually seen them for yourself in our spar. What do you think solid plan?” He asked as he looked down at her. He then turned his head expecting the other shinobi had brought with him to join them just about any second now. He looked back noticing the two men had vanished along their path. Their route was obvious but they needed to come up with a solution quickly. He wanted to take the men alive for questioning and his specific set of jutsu was good for disabling his enemies long enough for them to be subdued.

It wasn't that he had been avoiding the war, or hiding, but thus far he hadn't seemed to be called upon as much as the other shinobi during this strenuous time for much more than trivial and low combat situations. Most likely it had something to do with his random appearance asking to be part of the village, just a few weeks before all of this came to pass. He supposed that meant he wasn't on a high list of value right now as far as his assumed loyalty and ambition to serve and protect the village and it's people went. That didn't mean he had to align himself to their assumptions. If anything he didn't give a single damn what they thought of him. Even if he wasn't loyal to a point, being dragged out of the bathhouse by an odd shinobi back in to the real world had rudely thrown him back in to reality a few moments too soon. One did not need a heightened sense of smell to catch wind of the war. The distant tang of drying blood, burning, and the stink of discharged explosives even through the heavy aroma of the average village life.

It was times like this he was glad to not live in a place as dry and hot as Suna, because he felt the mist and the liquid in the air helped to thin it out some. He supposed it was also helpful to just have average senses as well. After awhile he might get used to it again to an extent, but it would always be present in the back of his mind. Actually, no, he was hoping it would be gone before too long. That the fighting would end. Well, the major fighting at least. They had made such a terrible mess of this place, and he couldn't ignore the fact they were destroying a place that --while not directly-- had honestly been a part of his home since he was born. At least that was how he saw it. The other shinobi had left him behind, and it didn't surprise him to find out he was faster, but Rinao was making pretty good time thus far. It wasn't too hard to follow him at this short distance. He joined them just as the other male turned towards his direction, mumbling an apology as he reached up to flick his dark hair back from his face.

Oh, right. It was still loose around his face, and he could only imagine how hair down to his waist looked when he was running. With an irritated downward quirk to his mouth, he pulled a hair band and promptly tied it back from his face as he studied the other two. The girl he didn't recognize, but the boy...really? Was Yuzu really on this mission as well? His expression softened slightly as he looked away from him, turning back to the one who had seemed to have taken charge of the situation by the way he held himself and the others were looking at him. That was just fine with him, as long as he didn't get anyone killed or mess up the mission somehow. Rinao was certainly no leader himself, but he wasn't the greatest follower either to most. He just hoped that Yuzu had something up his sleeve that would prove useful. Or at least keep him from getting hurt. It still amazed him how young and...tiny he was for a genin. He had to remind himself that he probably looked like that too when he first tried to convince his guardian to train him. If not smaller with darker accents. The young man knew the stereotypes shouldn't hinder what he thought of the other.

Expectantly, he turned his midnight colored eyes and waited for instruction. Hoping that everyone, not just this guy, would know what they were doing.

He had kept his focus on the men inside the shop as he heard someone running as he glanced to the side. Although she was late, her heavy breathing showed him she atleast made a good attempt to get there. He did not smile back at her when she smiled trying to keep his eyes on the two suspects. He did blush slightly cause she was the first girl he has actually met outside of his clan or that was not the Mizukage. He never counted the people who worked in the shops though, in which case he met women quite often due to duties in his clan.

She mentioned his name questioningly as if uncertain. He nodded slightly to indicate that he is infact Ren. His hair falling forward slightly into his face. She introduced herself as Keiko and while there was a pause. When the men got up and finally paid he greeted her. "Hi, you may call me Yuzu"
As the suspects left the shop they began walking along the path. He acknowledged the indication she gave with her head for them to start trailing them again. As he walked along with her he kept close then held onto her sleave. "This will be good, to keep them from being suspicious"

He did not even ask permission as it was clear his idea for cover was for them to think she was either his girlfriend or older sister. He was slightly startled gripping Keiko's arm for a moment shivering from slight fear as a stranger appeared who greeted Keiko as if he knew her. When he began mentioning some small details related to the mission he loosened his grip.

After still walking noticing that they seemed a bit pre-occupied, he looked forward noticing the guys were actually moving faster as if they were nervous. He recognised another person arrived. It was the man he had met on the beach with his hair all long in a mess. He noticed the guy looked at him but then turned away. Ren was slightly offended but he knew the mission was more important, and that he could always get upset later if he felt like it.

Ren had increased his pace heading out in front as the others seemed to busy planning to realise they had no time to wait anymore. The suspicious men went around the corner having been alerted when they realised there was four of them, as he carefully got around the corner then stopped as the two suspicious men were waiting for him as they turned to face him. The nervousness as Ren quickly looked around for anything to defend himself with as he did not know how long it would take the other three to catch up to him.

The one man laughed "Since when do they send kids on missions hey?!". The other man laughed too then said. "This is why we must destroy this village, in order that these pathetic children stop playing ninja". Ren decided to be serious and took off his headset and tossed it aside to a nearby wall. The men got serious as the one man summoned forth a basic puppet which had claws and several hidden sections on it. He made the mistake of focusing on the puppet as the other man punched him in the gut. While the others would maybe arrive soon to help out he had to do something on his own.

The man then proceded to hold him by the neck choking him slightly while the other guy positioned his puppet on the corner to ambush the others as spikes protruded from it slightly indicating it could possible have an all direction senbon launcher. Struggling to breathe and wondering why he left them behind, while he may fear death he trusted at the very least that they had his back.

Unable to call for life he manages to concentrate enough to grab hold of the mans arm and then performs a jutsu to escape. "Raiton Hiraishin no jutsu", as electricity flowed into the mans arm shocking him and burning him slightly as he fell down he kicked the man hard in the knee. The puppet user laughed at his ally keeping focus on his trap and puppet. The man now enraged kicked Ren who managed to block as it seemed they both lacked taijutsu skill. The man was annoyed then said. "Sorry but you got to die now so i can deal with the real threats he tossed about 4 kunai which he evaded by jumping to the side. The man then followed up with a few quick handseals.
"Fuuton Kiritateru " as a blade of air headed directly for Ren as he screamed. "Keiko!!" it appeared as if he took a fatal blow but he managed to perform kawarimi just in time, as a broken headset appeared before the guy while Ren against a nearby wall. In order to buy time he performed "Kirigakure no jutsu" with their vision somewhat obstructed and the mist giving a clear indication of their location he hid in the mist. The two men now confused as they kept up their guard.

Ren breathed heavily knowing that punch to his gut and the strangulation were still affecting him. He hoped his plan would worked. It may have looked reckless as he charged after them to keep track, but he was careful as he tossed his old useless headset to the wall for an escape. He then risked basic taijutsu in order to get close enough to see what capabilities they may have. He then used his replacement for emergencies as he planned to use the hidden mist technique to cover immediately after that, as well as calling for reinforcements after this to prevent them from escaping. It was now up to his team to handle the situation as he knew the moment the mist clears, things would become dangerous.

The puppet user had jumped back somewhat into a tree for cover while moving his puppet from there keeping an eye out for the three other shinobi. The puppet user said "Once they get here you better blow this mist away so i can kill them". His partner having prepared Fuuton Reppuushou (Gale Palm ) as he slapped his hands together in preparation.

Oookay then.

Keiko was never found of physical contact unless she was the one who initiated it … or if she welcomed it from certain specific individuals. Even if Ren was merely a ten year old child in her eyes, the fact that he was gripping on to her arm still served as a major annoyance, especially if it could potentially slow her down if she needed to quickly weave hand signs. He confirmed that he was the person she was looking for, but followed it with up with a comment that she could call him by his … last name. Not only am I older than him, I'm also of a higher rank … I'm starting to understand why older people always complain about the younger generations. She thought to herself, rolling her eyes. But before she could even react to his words or his actions, a now increasingly familiar presence made itself known. She was beginning to think that she was going to meet Dameon everywhere. Not that she minded in particular - the guy wasn't that bad, and had even earned some of her respect during their first meeting - but it appeared the village wasn't so big after all.

Parts of what he said she could agree with. After all, it was Ren who had picked the two men out as spies before she had even arrived … and unless he had been provided information that she hadn't been given, she wasn't keen on completely trusting the genin's judgement. "I agree, you're right to be suspicious. But going up to ask them a series of questions … you've seen some of the weapons they have on them. If they do turn out to be the spies and are equipped to take themselves out in the case where they are found out, we could be dealing with suicide bombers. I was thinking that we'll just tail them for now, since they appear to be headed towards the administration building. The path leading up the hill is relatively empty during this time of day, we won't have any unnecessary casualties if we confront them there." As she spoke, her gaze flickered to the newest arrival, but her silence served as an acknowledgement to his presence, not showing any opposition against having two additional helpers. It wasn't good to underestimate shinobi … but she had her doubts as to how useful Yuzu Ren would be.

The feeling of the weight on her arm suddenly vanished, alerting her that Ren had let go and was now proceeding forward ahead of them, towards the potential spies. What the hell does he think he's doing? She didn't allow him a chance to leave them behind, promptly following at his heels. But at this point, the gap was beginning to close between them and their suspects, so confronting Ren wouldn't be ideal. At least they were somewhat out of the busier area now, and the number of citizens wandering around had decreased considerably. Quickening her pace in an attempt to catch up to him, she didn't waste time in looking over her shoulder, though she knew that the other two were likely moving with her already. Temporarily losing sight of Yuzu as he rounded the corner, she didn't bother getting herself into an ambush, instead activating her Stage of Ice technique - now something that she used on a regular basis - to move into the air, stepping on the ice that formed naturally under her feet.

She was about four feet in the air by the time she rounded the corner, just in time to hear the two men laugh and make comments about destroying the village. Weeell, that pretty much confirmed that they were here to sabotage Kirigakure instead of provide assistance. A puppet was brought forth, facing the corner where Dameon and their other companion would likely be coming from. "Dameon, you guys deal with the guy and his puppet, I'll go grab the kid." She called out, knowing that her skills would be much more effective against humans than puppets. By the time she looked back, the young genin had somehow gotten himself into a chokehold … in the span of a couple of seconds. How utterly useless. Letting herself drop to the ground about two meters away, landing lightly on her feet with her knees bent slightly to absorb the impact, she watched as Ren managed to escape from the man's grasp, dodging the subsequent kunai that were thrown at me.

His scream for help didn't faze her in the slightest - her attention now focused on the man in front of her, who had turned to face her the moment he realized a somewhat larger threat had appeared. The remaining kunai in his hands were thrown towards her, ones that she dodged easily, having seen the kunai the moment he threw them at Ren, and had known what to expect. But as she weaved the hand signs for a counterattack, the area began rapidly filling with mist - a technique she recognized immediately as being the signature Kirigakure mist technique. Swearing under her breath, she began to move as she called out to Ren, making sure not to break her pace and alert the enemy of her position. "Stop causing more trouble, kid! How the hell do you expect the rest of us to see in this mist?" She yelled in irritation, making a mental note to speak to their Mizukage about letting suicidal children run around as genin. This impulsive child clearly belonged back in the Academy, perhaps for even a couple more years. As she ran, moving in a wide circle to ensure that she would still be near her opponent, fuuton chakra began forming in her hand, forming a large blade which she used to slash at the air, hopefully managing to hit her target. Even if it didn't the amount of wind surging from the blade would have been enough to blow away the majority of the mist, revealing the spy, who immediately reached for another weapon, caught by surprise at both the sudden appearance of the mist, and the sudden disappearance of it right after. It appeared her fuuton slash had managed to catch him in one arm, but only just barely.

Quickly following it up with another technique as he prepared to respond with his own fuuton technique and leaving him with little time to react in any other way, four ice tendrils erupted from the ground where he stood, where two of them would wrap around his legs while the other two would snake forward to wrap around his wrists, jerking them down to his sides and rendering him unable to weave the signs necessary for a response technique. If any of the four tendrils had grabbed her target successfully - which it was almost certain they did - the barbed edges of the tendrils would dig into his skin, drawing blood that would serve as confirmation that this was indeed the real thing, and not a substation, clone, or puppet. Hyouton chakra would pulse through the barbs, channeling a coldness into his muscles and forcing them to lock up in response, rendering him immobile unless he had some way of destroying the tendrils and breaking free. At this point, if she had him bound properly, he was at her mercy until her technique was dispelled, so if this dragged out any longer, she would need to knock him out before it did. No sense in killing him if he could provide useful information when alive. Now she could only hope that the other two had dealt with the other one successfully.

Dameon nodded in agreement before he saw the look on her face as if she just realized she was missing something. In fact now he thought about it that little child had vanished. He looked around quickly before following Keiko’s gaze. The planning they were putting behind it, the safety of the people in the village, and their own safety suddenly exposed in a bad way. He just stood there wondering if the boy was truly this stupid and as the boy rounded the corner out of sight his only reaction was to face palm as he sighed.

“I hate kids,” he stated with an obvious tone of frustration. He had no idea what to do now but follow Keiko into the fight the kid had stupidly started where they could have taken them by surprise and not have risked the lives of countless people. He ran after them quickly catching up but before he had completely caught up to them saw Keiko turn around to let the boy get pummeled a bit so she didn’t expose her whereabouts. He assumed this was the part where she used her ice to gain the higher ground and he had been right. He could distinctly make out the sound of two separate ninja but he needed to try and get the drop on them as soon as possible. He activated his electrolocation technique that gave him complete analysis of the battlefield around him for the fifty meters that surrounded him. As he snuck around the side to try and flank the other ninja and his puppet he waved for the other shinobi whose name he hadn’t caught.

"Dameon, you guys deal with the guy and his puppet, I'll go grab the kid."

‘Thanks for shouting out your battle strategy Keiko’ he thought to himself as he worked his way behind the building to the alleyway that would lead him behind his opponents. He made a hand motion to the other shinboi telling him to follow him. He entered the alleyway and peered out spotting the two shinobi and their puppets roughly twenty meters away from him. It was an easy distance to engage them from if he waited for the right opening. They both seemed preoccupied pummeling the boy and now fighting Keiko. He needed to go after the shinobi directly knowing that he could paralyze them both fairly quickly but getting past the puppets was going to be the tricky part. He looked at the other shinobi that was with him.

“I am going to go straight for the puppet master. I need you to distract the actual puppet itself so it doesn’t try to stop me from getting closer to him. Okay let’s go,” he said the moment the mist had taken over the area blinding their approach. He was be lining straight for the human he could make out in his sensory jutsu ignoring using sight and just feeling his way into the battlefield. He dodged the puppet with relative ease as the user didn’t have vision of Dameon yet not until he got close ration anyways. Dameon had already built up raiton chakra into his hands as he approached the spy from his blind side. He had been spotted a moment before Dameon could land his first attack. The opponent extended his and out with a kunai to defend himself. Dameon simply smacked the man’s hand away causing a surge of electricity into the man’s hands making his puppet start moving around erratically swinging blind punches and slashing at nothing. After the first shock Dameon smacked the other man’s arm causing the puppet to keep sporadically attacking at nothing. He landed a few more strikes the man’s arms paralyzing them causing the puppet to give one last jump before collapsing. Dameon then touched the man’s brain stem at the base of the back his neck and he collapsed experiencing temporary full body paralysis.

Now he had to finish the other man as well while the mist cleared and Keiko had trapped the other. Dameon activated his raiton katana and moved behind the man striking at all his limbs and body parts and finished it up with a slice through the back of the brains brain stem and put him into full body paralysis just like her done to the other. The effects would wear off eventually but not before he had brought them to a prison cell for future interrogation. He bent over reaching into the man’s coat and removing all the explosive tags and weaponry from the man. He also grabbed the man’s belt and undid it and used it to tie the man’s arms behind his back. He did the same for the second man as well. He felt a slight breeze as he noticed a tear in his jacket along his arm as well as a little bit of blood.

“Awwwh, Keiko. You are cursed. I always tear my lucky jacket when we work together. You have any idea how skilled I have become in sewing over the last three days?” He teased as he looked around to make sure that nobody else was coming with his sensory. He would leave it up just in case though all the way to the jail. He stopped his other Raiton jutsu however and looked around at Keiko, Rinao, and the child. The child had made things much more difficult than they had needed to be. Dameon actually didn’t know if the boy was just acting out of courage or ignorance, perhaps even both. He turned to the young kid honestly feeling like he wanted to punt him halfway across the village and into the ninja academy but he had at least one thing right.

“Child, you nearly cost us this mission. You put every single person in this area at risk not just yourself simply because you ran ahead without working as part of a team. What’s the point of being given a team if you’re not going to use it. If we were not here or simply didn’t care you would be dead right now. You had no could way of knowing how strong or fast they were. You have to use your head and the people and resources that are available to you, not simply run off on a death wish. Be smart next time or you might be the one to hut the village instead of helping it. On the plus side your mist technique rendered them unable to control their puppets properly due to poor visibility, it was very smart and gave us the opening needed to finish them off, so good work there,” he said looking down at the child before messing up his hair with his hand. He had lectured the kid enough for his taste.

“Good job everyone. You too….I’m Dameon,” he said extending his hand to offer a hand shake at Rinao.

The young man had been so focused on filtering through what the girl was saying he did not even realize that Yuzu had left them behind. Apparently, they had already started talking about some kind of plan in the few spare moments between his and the other boy's arrival to this place. It seemed he had the bright idea of just going up to the supposed spies and questioning them outright, and he had to agree silently that that was certainly not one of the brightest ideas if they were really armed to the teeth. Take themselves out? Suicide bomber spies was not the best thought to have right now for him. Yikes. Rinao made a bit of a face, but otherwise stayed silent until she was done speaking. Just tailing them for now and confronting them up on the hill was a wonderful idea; Avoiding as much unnecessary casualties as was possible and also keeping them from being limited by the proximity as well.

The dark haired shinobi nodded in agreement, catching the movement of the other young man doing it next to him. Then came that odd look on her face, and he realized a certain blonde pipsqueak was suddenly not accounted for. What the hell? Where could he possibly have run off to in the middle of a mission? Honestly, he should have been old enough to not need constant supervision. Rinao had only looked away for a few brief moments, and suddenly Yuzu was all the way at the other end of the street and turning a corner. Internally he was flailing and shouting profanities, but on the outside he face palmed almost exactly on cue with the other shinobi. Not that he was really timing it, but it might have been funny to him if he had taken the time to consider it. No, there was no time for that. The great plan they --or rather the girl and the other guy-- had thrown together was about to be thrown to the wind and dispersed like cheap paper confetti.

At the words the other had spoken, he could only make a disgruntled sound in his throat and shake his head. He decided to start trotting after the girl who was much farther ahead than they were by now, but it still didn't take them long to close a lot of the distance before she did her little ice trick. Well that was neat, and effective as it allowed her to gain height over whatever was happening around that corner. It didn not sound like it was going very well. The girl shouted something about them taking the other guy and his puppet --this guy's name was Dameon?-- but he was already following the other shinobi around the other to the other side of the building. Content to let him take the lead in this, despite the stupid idea earlier. Benefit of the doubt, and he might just be being a tad lazy about this. He knew it was a serious matter, but if the girl who seemed to know him trusted what he would do, then he supposed he could. This time, anyway.

The other shinobi --Damon? Demeon? Damn it.-- was leaning around the corner to watch what was going on. When he turned back to look at Rinao, he blinked and listened to what he was saying. Easy enough, but did he really intend to take on the one pulling the puppets strings himself? That was just fine for him, because it meant less work to do. All of a sudden, mist flared outwards around the small battle scene playing out. Wonderful. With a roll of his dark blue eyes, Rinao straightened up and casually walked out in to somewhat plain sight of the enemy. Within moments, his image split and suddenly there were two of him facing the enemy. With a defiant sneer, the original put his hands to cup his mouth so his voice carried clearly to the target; "You hit like a girl! Is that all you can do, pick on little kids? Pathetic!" That got his attention. The puppet was coming towards where he and the copy stood, and both took up a defensive stance and prepared for it's attack.

He didn't recall ever having fought a puppet before, but it wasn't all that different from fighting a person he supposed. It was easier when he pulled it's attention in center with his expert dodging, weaving and shoving it on occasion. You didn't need to be a Taijutsu master to tease a puppet and it's wielder. When it looked at his original body, the copy would throw itself at it and cause shuffling and confusion as he pulled back quickly and regrouped. Sadly, it wizened up quickly enough to anticipate the copy's attack and started to back up a bit as if to retreat to form a counter strategy. That was apparently when Dameon attacked, because when he looked up the two were engaged and the puppet made as if to return. He threw all of his weight on it, riding it in to the street old fashioned grappling style so it made a satisfying scraping, crackling sound against the ground. There was a moment in which he watched the other shinobi's fight. It certainly didn't last long.

But he was enthralled with the way he moved very quickly, with the brilliant execution of it all. All of a sudden the puppet bucked hard and sent him sprawling off to the side as his copy scrambled to regain it's grip on the thing. It turned too fast, and he hadn't expected it, and it smacked him hard enough across the fast that he swore he saw stars for a brief moment. Then it went limp. Exchanging a weary glance with the copy, he prodded the motionless puppet with his shoe and licked his lips. He tasted blood, apparently from his split lip. Great. With an irritated sound, he kicked the puppet and got to his feet. The copy made as if to help him, but he waved it off and walked towards the other with that defiant upward tilt of his face chin and that angry expression. Oh Yuzu was so going to get it. Yet, he was spared being the one to lecture the kid. Instead, he and the copy just glowered nearby and listened in on what Dameon was saying.

Then the other turned to him. The words made him blink at him curiously for a moment, as if he were surprised. All he did was tackle a puppet, after all, but even that small praise hit home. "I'm Rinao." He said, reaching out to take the hand. He had an odd moment of flashing back to the bath house, images of the fight swimming through his head. Later he would blame the excitement of the battle for the fact he suddenly got a very terrible nosebleed, but that wasn't entirely fair to anyone. With a groan, he quickly turned away to the copy who promptly rummaged through one of Rinao's pockets and produced a small, black handkerchief. Mumbling his gratitude, he nursed the bleeding nose and looked apologetically back at the others. His naturally soft voice was a little nasally. "I, ugh, guess it hit me harder than I thought."

As he could hear Keiko shouting with what sounded like an upset tone in her voice. Ren sighed slightly as he rubbed his stomach which was still sore from the punch earlier. If the man aimed a bit better then he might have broken Ren's frail ribs. He watched as she cleared most of the mist and hit the guy on the arm. He thought it was beautiful as he watched her as he smiled excitedly for half a second, before feeling a bit sad that she shouted at him.

He had looked down for only a moment before looking up to see the guy he struggled with bound by icy tendrils. He thought that was one of the coolest techniques he ever saw. "I wonder if i can learn that too?" he said softly to himself. As that man was bound he also noticed on the other end that the other guy who had interrupted his alone time with Keiko. He used brilliant Raiton techniques, disabling the puppet user before he could even fight back. Ren felt he could look up to the stranger and hoped he could be taught to use his lightning that well too. While that was all fine and having not noticed what happened to Rinao, he looked down to see Rinao kicking an unmoving puppet. Then he got confused noticing that there were two Rinao's. For a moment he was shocked, but he figured it was probably just a clone of sorts.

He then noticed as the man had disarmed the puppet user as well as when he finished off the guy trapped in Keiko's ice technique. He realised that these guys were all on a level above him. Except for Rinao who he thought was weak as he noticed the nose bleed. As he was slightly worried about Rinao the guy came over to him and began to lecture him. He heard things like cost and thought the guy lost his money, he also heard the words use your team and that he should not run in ahead. He then listened a bit more carefully hearing him mention that he should use people more and plan things better. He was about to fall asleep when he heard the guy praise him which made him slightly happen even though he gave a blank expression. The man ruffled through his hair which he liked but after a while he realised it is embarrassing and blushed slightly as he smiled. He just could not resist a good ruffle through his hair. He heard the man was named Daemon and watched as he extended a hand to Rinao.

When he saw that Rinao also got praise he began to think him and Rinao were equally weak. Seeing this older guy now as a rival rather than someone to look up to. He listened to Rinao say he thought he was hit harder. He then spoke to Rinao softly "You need to be more careful, do not go running into a puppet by yourself. You heard what Da..da..Daedamon said"

The distraction of Rinao's clone wiping Rinao's nose left him a bit confused mispronouncing Daemon's name as daedamon. He then looked to Keiko who he realised was being ignored during all of this as he glared back at Rinao and Daemon. "You guys must stop shaking hands and check if Keiko is also okay". He sounded upset as he turned to run towards Keiko slowly holding his stomach again. The pain not seeming to want to go away. He then looked Keiko up and down and then took her hand and began checking it out. "You not hurt are you Keiko?" having remembered her name after having only really met her today. As things had began to quiet down he let go of her hand, not even giving Keiko a chance to reply, before running over to punt the guy hard in his ribs for punching him in the gut earlier. "I just ate you jerk!" he said while repeatedly kicking the guy, although childish might be risky leaving him to kick the guy for much longer. He would not kill the guy but the guy already can not move and was restrained. It seemed no one had ever taught him not to kick a man when he is down. Ren's ankle was also turning slightly reddish from kicking too much, someone had to stop him and calm him down.

She couldn't express in words how relieved she was that it was over. She didn't think she would be able to stand having keep an eye on the kid any longer than she had to. Not that she had really bothered protecting him, it seemed as though he had sustained some minor injuries - likely bruising, but probably not any broken bones from what she could tell. But the thought of having to jeopardize their situation again because the young genin couldn't control himself and actually stop to listen to orders was almost terrifying.

Dameon managed to take out the other spy without much of a hitch - it appeared his skills were continuing to improve, which was quite impressive, if not even a bit intimidating. Clearly, his raiton techniques were becoming much more potent, from what she knew from their spar, he had only been limited to a few. Now he seemed able to track people even with the Hidden Mist technique in place, and shortly after the mist had cleared, his opponent was taken care of. The long haired male seemed to have some trouble with the puppet as it was spasming random due to the attacks being inflicted on it's controller by Dameon, but eventually both spies and the puppet were subdued. Once the two spies were properly bound and were no longer a threat, she cancelled her ice binding tendrils, blood still seeping from where the barbs had pierced into the man's arms and legs. It wouldn't be fatal though, so she didn't bother giving any medical aid, knowing that they would be dealt with once they handed the two over to be detained.

“Awwwh, Keiko. You are cursed. I always tear my lucky jacket when we work together. You have any idea how skilled I have become in sewing over the last three days?” Her lips twitched in amusement at Dameon's comment but she didn't reply, instead turning to Ren, ready to continue reprimanding him and release her frustrations towards his incompetency … but it appeared as though Dameon had the same idea. So instead of listening, her gaze flickered back to their prisoners, wondering what would be done to them. It was at least a bit of relief to know that these weren't their own Kiri shinobi, but only showed how vulnerable Kirigakure was at the moment. Their Mizukage had allowed shinobi of other villages to enter freely and help with defending the village, but there was no way in telling who could be trusted and who couldn't. These two seemed like ronin, making them even harder to keep track of. At the sound of Dameon introducing himself to their other companion, she tuned back in just in time to catch the other's name - Rinao. Likely a Kiri nin, from the looks of it, which was reassuring.

Turning to face them, she nodded in greeting to Rinao, whose clone was in the process of handing him a tissue for his bleeding nose. It was interesting watching the clone - she couldn't be absolutely certain, but it appeared as though the clone was no ordinary doppelgänger. Perhaps even stronger than the shadow bunshin, and definitely more capable than her own ice clones. Keiko couldn't help but feel that if the situation had been slightly more favourable, the man would have been able to show more of his skills. "Nice to meet you, Rinao. I'm Keiko, sorry we couldn't exchange greetings earlier because of the … circumstance we were placed in." At the slight pause, she glanced over at Ren, who seemed to be on his way towards her. To her surprise and annoyance, he grabbed at her hand, lifting it up as if trying to inspect it for injuries. Throughout the short match against her opponent, she had not gotten close enough to use Taijutsu or anything … it made no sense what compelled the younger shinobi to check her hand. Either way, physical contact was not tolerated by her. Jerking her arm away from him rather rudely, she responded with a curt, "No. I'm fine. Eyes watching as the child walked over to the subdued spies and began kicking one of them repeatedly, she sighed, raising a hand to rub at her temple, as though dealing with Ren gave her a massive headache. "I'll leave you guys to deal with the kid and those two, I'm going to see if anyone else needs help." She announced rather suddenly, proceeding to begin walking toward the administration building.

Dameon stood there looking up at the sky as he heard everyone else talking. Everyone was obviously frustrated with the kid and Dameon would have been lying if he said he wasn’t either. But beating him up too harshly over mistakes seemed a lot less helpful if the kid was trying to learn, in his opinion anyways. He seriously hated how the arm of his coat was cut and even stuck his finger through it feeling the small gash as blood dripped onto his finger. He sighed some as he bent down to the unconscious man and tore a piece of his shirt off long enough to be a really poor rag.

He unstrapped his coat and slid it off and onto the ground revealing his upper body as he never wore any kind of shirts. His torso was scarred from his childhood from the bit and claw marks of wolves, bears, and various other creatures. He took the cloth and wrapped it around the cut on his arm and tied it tightly using his teeth to finish the knot. He looked back at Keiko as she gave him a small twitch of her lips. He knew what that meant, it was hardly noticeable but he had a feeling Keiko knew that Dameon picked up on such things. Perhaps that’s how they got along so well amidst the fighting.

"I'll leave you guys to deal with the kid and those two, I'm going to see if anyone else needs help."

“Good idea, Rinao and I will take these two to the jail for interrogation,” He stated as he watched her take off. He turned to the kid who was taking his anger out on the unconscious body of one of the spies. He sighed again taking another moment to face palm himself before moving forward to get the kid away from the prisoner.

“I hate kids,” he said under his breath again loud enough for Rinao to possibly hear but not the young boy. He walked forward and picked the young child up by the back of the shirt and placed him on the ground a couple feet away from the prisoner.

“Kid, you can’t beat the tar out of someone who is unconscious. It is pointless. For starters he can’t even feel it. Second what if you had woken him up and he tried to hut Keiko, or for that matter myself or Rinao. You may not care about yourself or your own actions but those very actions can put others at risk. How bad would you have felt if your kicking woke the man up with enough time to hurt Keiko or even kill her? You would have to live with that the rest of your life. Think, we don’t have years more experience than you for no reason. Learn from us and listen to your elders so you don’t end up causing more harm than good, because I don’t know about you but I want to live through this attack and I am sure everyone else in the village does to,” he stated ending another lecture had to give the boy. He looked back at Rinao and nodded his head as he grabbed the prisoner and threw him over his shoulder it was a burden for sure but he was glad at least that the spies hadn’t been binge eating.

“Were going to the jail. Take the back roads there, no rooftops, we don’t want the exposure for other spies to try and stop us,” he stated before he took off in the direction of the jail at a reasonable pace wanting to get rid of the man as soon as possible so he could continue to help out in the battle as much as possible. The jail was just on the opposite end of the administration building and they could make it roughly in about a minute or so.

He didn't think things could have gotten much worse off for him than the embarrassment of the sudden nosebleed and the part about getting back handed by an uncoordinated puppet. What a way to make a first impression on his fellow shinobi by looking like a fool. A weak fool at that. Rinao fussed quietly with his bleeding nose, dabbing hopelessly at it with a tissue, when the boy spoke to him. Seriously? Yuzu was lecturing him? Of all the little yellow haired brats he could have been paired with, he had to get the extremely rude and ignorant one. The young man frowned hard, his brows nearly knit together in his angry frustration at this development. By the time he opened his mouth however the girl was speaking to him. Oh, right. For a moment he had forgotten she was there. It was nothing against her, of course, but his own wildly off task mind made it difficult to focus with the main danger out of the way now. "A pleasure to meet you as well." Anything else he might have said was cut off by the odd child grabbing her hand and inspecting it like she had a hang nail.

It was obvious that Keiko didn't like this action by the way she jerked her arm back from him and spoke sharply. Rolling his eyes back to the other shinobi as he was tearing cloth away from the shirt of an enemy. At first he was alert, examining the wound with his dark eyes from this distance, but it didn't seem to be too bad. Rinao relaxed a bit, and that was probably the worst thing he could have done, because his eyes roamed. Oh god, not good. With a low groaning sound in his throat, he turned away as if he were going to get sick and put a hand on his Eizo's shoulder to steady himself. Luckily it wasn't paying any attention to them and keeping it's eyes on the spies while they all spoke together. Doing exactly what he expected it to do as was usual for them. From now on he was going to make it a point to only look at Dameon's face. Surely, he could at least handle that much without his mind going wild with thoughts that really shouldn't be there during any situation. Much less right after a fight while the other was injured.

He looked hesitantly over his shoulder at the mention of his name. Right, the prisoners. That was when he caught sight of what Yuzu was doing. What was wrong with that kid? Why did he have to be dishonorable, too? He had been about to go over and drag the pipsqueak to the tallest roof he could find and drop him off it when Dameon intervened. Though he would have opted for much worse than a simple lecture to be given about being responsible and 'what if Keiko was hurt'. Not that it didn't matter to him, but tough love was something he honestly believed in. The brat needed a beating. It was a tempting thought to just find a stick and start whacking him over the head with it until he knocked some sense in to that thick skull. Instead, he simply glowered from where he stood. Rinao was more than happy to get moving when the other shinobi nodded to him. His copy shouldered him off and went to grab up the other prisoner without a single word.

Not that it could really protest to being made to do the work, but surely he could be a little abusive of his power over it while his hands were occupied with the persistent nose bleed. He walked at it's side, keeping an eye on the unconscious ninja thrown over it's shoulder. Hopefully, nothing else would go wrong with the jail just around the corner. With a soft confirmation of the plan, he and the Eizo followed Dameon.

He was having some fun until the Daemon guy grabbed him and placed him one side, like an object. He was really upset and to make things worse he got another lecture. He looked down while he felt like he was being scolded. Having only lived with his grandmother while she was alive, he did not really get scolded for anything except by an academy sensei, and the Mizukage. As he looked as Rinao's clone carried the one body while Daemon carried the other body. He decided to deliver the success of the mission. As he headed towards the admin building holding his gut still in pain. He noticed that Keiko was gone and that they left him all alone.

"Keiko, Daemon, Rinao" He looked into the distance. "I think i might like them". He thinks of Keiko who looked beautiful with her weird colored hair, Daemon with his cool lightning and evil lectures. Finally the weak but caring Rinao. He decided to take note of it as he went on his way walking normally as Daemon told him to. He learnt a lot, but the main thing he learnt was that he needs to keep getting stronger. As he arrived he immediately decided to set out again.

"I will become the next Mizukage" the last words he uses as he walks away.
