Reag was smiling. As far as he was concerned, it was a good night. Only a few days ago, he had returned from the Namahage festival, and the whole experience had put him in a great mood. He twirled a dark mask around his fingers as he continued his musings and reminiscence. Over the past few days, he had grown very attached to his prize. He had even spent a considerable time reenforcing the thing to allow it to withstand the rigors of shinobi life. It was rapidly becoming a standard item in his ninja gear, despite it being unusual for Genin to wear masks. Carefully, he slipped his mask back into his inner jacket pocket.

He continued to think back to his time at the carnival. Truly, he couldn’t think of a time where things felt right. He loved the crazy Yokai that had made the festival unique and interesting. He loved meeting the foreign shinobi. But most of all, he loved the atmosphere, with it's perpetual night and blood red moon. That being said, he could have done without some of the festivals more rowdy residents. Particularly, his encounter with the Yuki-onna was still fresh in his mind, along with the impromptu ninja technique he had created. It was the first time he had truly attacked someone with the intent to kill. If he hadn't ended the technique early, there would have been a dead snow woman at his feet. Quickly, Reag drove this line of thinking out of his head. He had better things to do with his time.

Squirming around on the ground, the young Konoha Genin adjusted his seating below the tree. He moved his hands to his head and forced it to the side, popping the joints in his neck. Truely, the young ninja was relaxed. He looked around his favorite training ground for any sign of life. Nothing. Lazily, he picked himself off, and brushed down his jeans, before walking into the center of the field. Ritualistic, Reag raised one of his hands up to try and grab the crescent moon above him. Closing his fingers, he nodded to himself. Everything was in it's right place. Reag could begin his training session now.

To start off with, he felt it would be good to deal with some simple Taijutsu Katas as a warmup. He was never any good at the art, but doing a few exercises with the academy style was a great way to get the blood pumping. The style was simple, focusing on defensive fighting coupled with powerful counter attacks. The young Genin was terrible at it. Smiling to himself, he thought back to his academy days. It was less than a month ago that he was still falling asleep in class everyday and ignoring his teachers lectures. That’s not to say he wasn’t preparing himself to become a ninja, just that the academy wasn’t doing much for him. Reag had long ago formed his own training strategies. Sadly, his independence had caused him to fall to nearly the bottom spot of his graduating class.

Finally finishing his warmup exercises, the young Konoha Genin decided it was time to start his Genjutsu training. Quickly, he had a toss up on weather to continue his research into some of his original illusions, or to continue perfecting his already mastered techniques. With a mental shrug, he eventually settled on keeping up with some of his basic illusions. The next question was which skill he would practice next. While continuing his work on Enmaku no Jutsu (Smokescreen Technique) would probobly net the young Genin with some very impressive results later on, he settled on working on a more impressive looking skill. Reag smiled. This particular Jutsu was designed to fake out his enemy in such a way that they would drastically confuse his specialties.

Focusing his mind, Reag released his held breath, and began his little Jutsu ritual. First Step: Gather your chakra. Focusing his chakra all over his body, he prepared it to release it all in a subtle blast. Second Step: Mold your Chakra. Quickly, the youth burned through a short series of symbols, ending on a well known Raiton sign. Final Step: Release your Chakra. With that, he released the pent up energy, sending it out in a twenty meter sphere. Quickly, he moved his right hand down to his chest, and grabbed it with his left. Smiling, he shouted “Chidori (Thousand Birds)”. And with that, the illusion was complete.

If any on lookers where to gaze in on the young Genin, they would see a small kid holding one of the most devastating assassination Jutsus ever created. It worked wonders for intimidation, even if it was just an illusion. The Genin released his technique, letting the built up chakra dissipate. Quickly, he jumped backwards. His imaginary foe would have seen what looked like the Genin loosing control of the technique, and jumping backwards to evade any counter attacks. It was a good start to the night's training regiment...

Uchiha Oshiki

Uchiha Oshiki

D-rank
This had been a very weird few days. The last mission that he had taken part in had left him wounded in the hospital bed, struggling to recover from some rather serious stab wounds that had filled almost his entire body, it was a bloody miracle that he hadn't died. He'd been unconscious for a few days after that, but when he'd finally awoken, Mitsuo had been sitting next to him... Mitsuo, Oshi thought miserably as he walked through the city streets, trying to clear his head of exactly what had happened over the last few days since he had gotten out of the hospital. Everything had happened so fast, it was like what he'd been doing for the last few years had meant absolutely nothing now. He'd become extremely depressed and had turned into an alcoholic when he'd lost his family, and now that Mitsuo was gone he could feel the same cavernous emptiness opening up underneath his feet. If he was to fall here and now, he was going to end up in the same place that he was last time. However, this time he wouldn't have Mitsuo to pick up the pieces when he was unable to find his way to do so. If this happened this time, he'd be lost. There were no two ways around it.

His mind was reeling as he tried to think about what had happened. The Namehage festival had happened again, and he had been too ill to attend. He'd spent the last god knows how long in the hospital bed, it wasn't like the time he'd been stabbed through the chest by the plank of wood, this was something that had taken much longer to heal. If they'd done it wrong he would have bled out internally, and the wounds were all over his body so it wasn't like they could close them all at once, they had to be very careful with what they were doing since his body seemed to reject most treatments. He'd finally been released a few days ago, only to find out news that nobody had bothered to tell him since he'd been in the hospital wing. Mitsuo's boyfriend had been killed on the battlefield, and then Mitsuo himself was wiped out. He wasn't sure what the assignment he'd been on was, but since he was ANBU Oshi guessed it had been something about a missing-nin. Missing nins... he had thought that after Hao had been stopped that there would have been more peace in the world, but there wasn't. With that power group rising in the east, the Blue Rose or whatever they called themselves, it just seemed like it was becoming more and more popular with the day.

He'd even missed the funeral, apparently, since he had been in the hospital. He'd only just gotten back from paying his respects and now... well, now he was more than a little bit drunk. He probably shouldn't be touching the stuff at all since he was having to take medication to keep from having an infection, but he needed a stiff drink... or two... or five, as it had turned out. He was currently walking through the city streets, his face hidden underneath his cloak's hood, with a large bottle of some unknown liquor in his hand. He'd bought it at a stall next to the one where he'd bought the flowers he put on his best friend's grave, trying to think of what he was going to do next. He was cold, and sad, and miserable, but he knew that he shouldn't continue going down this path. He was a brave soldier of Konoha now, a jounin with respect and admiration on his shoulders. People recognized him as the heir to the Uchiha line, they recognized his position in the village as a soldier and they respected him. If he gave that up... what had any of this been for? Was he going to give up trying just because his friend was currently lying in the ground? Was that the kind of person that he was, the kind that couldn't do anything but cry over spilled blood?

It was during this walk that he passed something strange. A little kid, hair as brown as chocolate, was holding what seemed to be the chidori. The same chidori that his ancestor had become famous for wielding during the great Shinobi world war. That was a jutsu that no-one nowadays should be able to have, and even if they did have it they would have had to spend years struggling to obtain it. This kid obviously hadn't, he was too young and his body... his body was not the body of someone who trained regularly. He would guess, from the strange bulk on the boy's wrist, that he was wearing some sort of bracer, which either meant he was a taijutsuist or a swordsman. Considering his body form, a swordsman was much more likely. With all these clues added together, he knew that something was rotten in the state of Konoha, and so... closed his eyes. When they reopened, they were blood red with three spinning dots within them. The illusion fell away until he saw what the true jutsu was. His body was ejecting a small amount of chakra through it's tenketsu, but it was not raiton energy. this energy was that of a genjutsuist. Another one, and this one didn't even bother to master proper techniques.

Walking towards him, pulling back his hood so that his sharingan would become obvious to the boy, he shot a glare down at him. He was clearly drunk, but that didn't stop him looking intimidating. He was almost ten whole years older than the boy, and had the body of someone who specialized in taijutsu, his body whilst not weighed down in masses of muscles, was very lean, and very defined around the arms and legs. He was a boxer by nature, even if he was also a genjutsuist.

"You call that a genjutsu, boy?" he asked, moving his bottle back to his mouth and taking another sip. The liquor inside tasted like raspberries, but also had that peculiar taste that only strong alcohol could ever really have. It had a good burn to it, making his tongue ache in the most wonderful way as it oozed down the back of his throat, filling his stomach with a bit more of it's fruity warmth. It was perhaps a bad sign that he was so casual about drinking in front of a little kid, but he honestly could not care less. If he wanted to, he could copy this kid's abilities without even straining himself, but for one thing it was weak, and for the second thing the logic behind it was just confusing. Why would someone want something like that? It would just make people want to fight you even more, to prove that they beat the kid with Chidori.

"When I was a boy your age, my illusions were able to make people cower in fear, they were able to debilitate a person within seconds, to rip through them like they were nothing but wet tissue paper. What exactly were you planning to do when people thought you had the chidori, huh? You sure as hell can't actually use it, your chakra's not developed enough to have it. All you have is a fear tactic, and do you know what people do when they realize that there's nothing to be scared of? They get mad, and an opponent who's mad at you is not something you want." he said, seemingly extremely knowledgeable for someone who was currently drunk off his head from booze. Plus, the way that he mentioned that he could do illusions too, it was clear that he was also someone who used genjutsu.

The young Konoha Genin smiled. His technique had worked. If he was facing an opponent, he would have hopefully tricked them into thinking that they where dealing with someone of the Raiton element. This would allow him to mislead his enemies into thinking that some of his Genjutsus where Ninjutsu. After all, if they are not aware of the of the illusion, they cant counter it effectively. Quickly, he prepared his follow up technique, Orokate (Stupid Hands). He would disguise the skill as a Raiton nerve attack. Carefully, he began his ritual for using his Chakra techniques. First Step: Gather your Chakra. Closing his eyes, Reag began to focus his internal energies into gathering behind his eyes, turning it into a bullet.

Yet, before he could continue his practice routine, a gruff voice interrupted him. "You call that a genjutsu, boy?" Quickly, his eyes darted towards the source of the voice, and observed the interloper. The man had black hair, a giant build, bad posture, and was drinking from a bottle of booze. The Konoha Genin mentally sweat dropped; a Shinobi should not be visiting training grounds drunk. After the catastrophe with the fifth Hokage, Reag figured that every ninja knew about this unspoken rule. Then he met the man's eyes, and everything froze. Red. Three Tomoe. Uchiha. That meant extremely skilled. That also meant his man could see through any illusion he put up. Reag hated Uchihas, as they where the hard counter to all of his illusions.

With a scowl, the figure before him continued to berate the young Genin. They get mad, and an opponent who's mad at you is not something you want." With a twitch of his eye, the young Genin fought the urge to escalate the conflict.

Sure, his Nise Raiton (Fake Lightning Release) wasn't useful as a direct offensive illusion. But its purpose had nothing to do with offensive techniques. The entire objective of his Genjutsu was to distract his foe, so they would not notice the invisible wires snaking up behind them. Reag suppressed a small chuckle at this line of thought. In hindsight, his technique had done exactly what he hoped it would do; attract attention. The only problem stemmed from the fact that the little leaf ninja was not ready for said attention, and that the older ninja he had apparently pissed off could see through any thing he threw at him. Cursed Uchiha and there cursed eyes. Reag would never admit to himself that he was more than a little jealous of the power that the Sharingan held.

Finally, the man in front of him finished his speech. Carefully, Reag reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out his mask. Quick as a flash, he had it fixed to his head. As long as he kept his mask on, he could maintain his calm demeanor. Finishing the process of ordering his mind, Reag began to speak in a diplomatic tone. “Any illusion that causes your foe to cower in fear can easily be broken, Uchiha-sama.” Carefully, he picked a suffix that would show respect. “I understand that flashy illusions can provoke my foes into attacking me head on. All of my Genjutsu's are of this subtle variety. I would be more than happy to demonstrate, assuming you would be kind enough to disable your Sharingan temporarily. After all, how can I exceed your expectations if you have an unfair advantage.”

As he spoke, he kept his hands behind his back. Looking at the man's eyes, he waiting for a response. Suddenly, the spinning red orbs faded to their original color. Reag put his plan into action immediately. Quickly, he channeled chakra into his gloves, preforming his signature Jutsu, Harigane Kanri no Jutsu (Wire Control Technique). An instant later, he began his ritual for using his chakra. First Step: Gather your Chakra. He moved his vital energies around his body, until it was almost ready to burst out. Second Step: Bold your Chakra. Behind his back, he preformed a short series of one handed seals, using only his right hand. Final Step: Release your Chakra.

Reag looked at the man's eyes, and smiled. “Thank you, Uchiha-sama.” And with that, he released his built up chakra in an area of effect blast. Everyone within twenty meters of the young Genin would be experiencing his particular illusion. It was a favorite of his, Enmaku no Jutsu (Smokescreen Technique). The area would be filled with illusionary smoke. As long as his Uchiha friend didn’t turn on his Sharingan again, there would be no way to easily see through it.

The boy seemed to freeze instantly when their gazes met, and there was that unmistakable change in his posture that highlighted the boy's opinions. It was something that he had seen many times, where they would judge him just because of the clan that he was born into. If his ancestors had been different types of people, would that have changed his personality? Where did this brat get off on judging him for being an Uchiha? Everyone seemed to look down on him because of that fact, it was why he had sworn that one day he would be able to make everyone pay attention to him. Not just because he was skilled, but because he was a good person.

He had fought many battles for the village and done anything and everything asked of him by the village. He was their line of defense in this time where the current highest ranking members of the village seemed not to know what they were doing, highlighted by the fact that Star had somehow taken over the village without fighting Takeshi. Takeshi had seemed to just stand down and move to the position of a sannin. Why he was still a ninja at all if he had time to do that but not to be the kage he didn't understand; Surely being sannin took even longer than it did to be kage? All of the diplomatic missions, the kage was the one who run everything which meant he very rarely had to leave the village. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing, and this boy sure as hell didn't. If he did, he wouldn't have made it so unbelievably obvious what he was looking at, lesser people would have attacked him for that.

It was true, wars had started for less than the way that Reag was currently looking at him. Oshi was a good person, he worked hard for the village, and he was a recovering alcoholic, this was the first drink that he had had in two months, which made it all the sweeter and would later probably make him regret it all the more, and yet this little bastard stood there staring at him like he was some unwashed hobo that had shat on his boots for the sheer pleasure of being an asshole.

Oshi, personally, wanted to slam the brat's annoying head into the mud and see how smug the bastard would act then, but he wasn't going to. This kid was just that, a kid; He wasn't old enough to know any better, and from the level of his chakra that was being sustained, he would make a fair guess that this kid was still a genin, he certainly didn't seem to have developed anything very far so far. But, he wasn't going to act without any physical provocation, and hopefully the boy wouldn't provoke him before they were finished here. He had only come past here because it was on the way back to his home, not because he had wanted to train... but if this kid wanted to train, then he was sure as hell going to give the brat what he wanted.

“Any illusion that causes your foe to cower in fear can easily be broken, Uchiha-sama.”sama? he could have laughed at that, it was something that was supposed to show respect when this boy clearly had none. Fear, most likely judging from the way that he looked like he was about to crap himself, but fear was not the same thing as respect. People had often argued that fear was better than respect, but in this case it didn't really matter which one was better, all that mattered was that this kid was trying to trick him into lowering his guard for some reason.

“I understand that flashy illusions can provoke my foes into attacking me head on. All of my Genjutsu's are of this subtle variety. I would be more than happy to demonstrate, assuming you would be kind enough to disable your Sharingan temporarily. After all, how can I exceed your expectations if you have an unfair advantage.” Of course, he was able to see the build up of chakra, but with his understanding of genjutsu he was more than confident enough that he would be able to do this fine. Shutting his eyes down, a mistake that he would probably not do if he was sober, he gave the boy what he wanted... before the chakra was released.

What happened then was a strange feeling over his eyes like there was a smokescreen everywhere. It was weird, and his eyes seemed to blur slightly as he tried to find his way around it. It was annoying, he'd been in situations like this with his brother and sister whilst he was still training them in the arts of the ninja, but that didn't mean he was able to see through the fog of smoke any clearer than another person.  However, something that the boy didn't know was what real smoke actually did. Because of the way smoke works, it inflames the eyes of those who are inside it and causes them to cough as they inhale it. Oshi, on the other hand, knew it all too well.

He was an Uchiha, their specialty (other than their Sharingan) was their fire chakra. His sister had specialized in fire ninjutsu, apparently coming from the Amaterasu side of the family, so when he had trained her he had had to deal with a lot of smoke from her techniques. Whenever he had been near that he had coughed and felt his eyes begin to water painfully. He was neither coughing nor were his eyes hurting, so it was clearly a genjutsu. Something that was this obvious... it had to be pretty weak, he thought bitterly, before doing something the boy would find weird. Moving his thumb to his mouth as if to suck it, he slipped it inside his mouth and bit down hard. It was not hard enough to bite through the finger, but it was just hard enough to cause pain and to begin a slow but steady red trickle of blood from the now clear bite wound.

Standing there with a clearly vindictive look on his face, clearly focusing on the brat rather than looking around the area. There was no way not to know that he had broken out of the genjutsu, especially since he had just wounded himself on purpose.  he spoke with absolute certainty.

"And what, pray tell, was that? You're really rather bad at this game aren't you. Now, my turn~" he said, before weaving his hands through the handsigns of the dog, the horse and the snake.... of course, they were a distraction for the silent build up of chakra. this jutsu was once rather difficult for him to pull off, but now that he was so practiced at it, it was second nature. It was also incredibly painful for someone to have to deal with, but as he pursed his lips and whistled, his genjutsu set in. The brain was the area where the sensory neurons were found, and since his genjutsus were designed to mess with his opponent's brain, he was able to affect their five senses. Their first sense, sound, was the one that he was going after with this jutsu.

Because of the way that he had framed it, he shot through his hand-signs and... when he whistled, the boy would have felt as if a hundred thousand trumpets had played that same note in his head. That noise was sometimes enough to drive some people insane from the very first sounding of those imaginary trumpets. If they weren't sense based, they would have burst his eardrums. It would have felt like a vibration jutsu, and since the boy's head was now shaking it would definitely feel like it. This jutsu was one of his weakest ones, but it was also the one that many people feared the most, simply because they were forced to go through pain that most people wouldn't experience in their lives.

Reag looked at the Uchiha before him, concerned. This would be a problem. He was sure his jutsu was successful, yet his opponent looked completely unfazed. This would be a problem. If the young Genin had actually known the caliber of the ninja he had antagonized, he would have probably had picked a considerably less hostile set of actions. Also, he would not have dared to put into action the combat plan he had worked on. After all, he had no experience fighting higher level ninjas, seeing as he was nothing more than a self taught academy graduate. This lack of experience caused him to make a fundamental mistake: Escalate further.

It was time for him to start phase two of his plan. Carefully, he began his jutsu ritual. First step: gather your chakra. Quickly, he moved his vital energies into his hands, molding them around the spools of wire attached to his gauntlets. It wasn't easy to preform, due to mild interference from his previous Harigane Kanri no Jutsu (Wire Control Technique), but hours of practice had allowed him to over come this hurdle. Second step: mold your chakra. Fortunately, this particular illusion didn’t use seals. Final step: Release your technique. With a loud chuckle, he released his pent up chakra. The sound would be the trigger to his Kamereonharigane (Chameleon Wire). At this distance, there would be no way for his opponent to not hear him, and thus have an extremely difficult time spotting his wires, once he released them. The fact that his opponent was an Uchiha who wasn’t using the Sharingan would only help him further. That clan tended to over rely on their eye techniques.

As he began to enact phase three of his plan, he hoped that his previous flashy Genjutsu's would distract his opponent from his very subtle still. With that thought, he willed his wires into action, via his Harigane Kanri no Jutsu (Wire Control Technique). From both of his hands, still hidden behind his back, his wires sped off to flank the Uchiha from behind. They stayd low to the ground, blending into the soil and the darkness, leaving a trail of chakra pulleys behind them. His previous illusion would prevent the wires from shining in the moonlight, rendering them invisible. Just as the young Genin was preparing to enact phase four of his plan, the Uchiha Jounin spoke.

"And what, pray tell, was that? You're really rather bad at this game aren't you. Now, my turn~" This would be a problem. His opponent was preparing a Genjutsu counter. He would have to work fast. His wires had finally met behind the Jounin's back. He looped two of them into a slipknot, made an anchor point on a nearby tree and sent the noose flying towards the back of the Uchiha's head. With his other eight wires, he set them up in a three dimensional circle pattern around his opponent, each with pulleys to one side, and anchors to the other. He could only pray that his opponent was drunk enough to be hyper focused on his hand seals, as they required significant motor control. That was something alcohol impaired. With any luck, hid red eyed opponent would divert his attention towards hand seals.

The older leaf ninja shot through his seals so fast, Reag wondered if his hands would catch on fire. It was now a race to see who would complete their techniques first. Obviously, he lost. The older Uchiha whistled, and with that, Reag's head exploded. The sound echoed everywhere, insanely loud and distracting. If he didn’t know better, he would swear the entire brass section of the Konoha Ninja Orchestra was playing right in his ears. Fighting the urge to claw his ears off, Reag worked to complete his technique.

But the sound was too much, as he fell to his knees, breaking eye sight with the Jounin. He would have to wait till his technique was completed before he could Kai out of the painful illusion. By this time, assuming his opponent hadn’t moved, the wire would be around his neck. With all his might, he pulled on his wires, forcing the series of pulleys and anchors to pull tight. At the same time, he released the opposing pulleys for his eight backup wires. Still overwhelmed, he said his technique name Ninpo: Keiri no Harigane (Ninja Skill: Hangman's Wire)”. The wires would shoot at his opponent from all directions, making a kawarimi nearly impossible to pull off. If the one around his neck didn’t get him, the rest of the wires would shoot down at him from all directions, as they formed a chakra infused cage. Reag hoped he would look up to see a ninja hanging by his neck from a tree, completely bound by wires. To say he was overly optimistic would be an understatement.

The battle continued to rage on... well, not exactly rage on, if anything it was going rather slowly. They were basically just returning punch after punch against each other, it wasn't really doing anything serious yet. The boy was doing pretty well for someone his age and with the little experience he must have, against a jounin most people would have been absolutely destroyed by now. That being said, he wasn't exactly going full on against this kid, he'd not actually used a jutsu higher than D rank so far. If he had even tried one of his stronger jutsus, he would have been able to wipe the floor with this kid within a second, but if he'd even considered that so far, he remembered what'd happened in the forest with that damned hippy girl who had run off and joined with Missing-nins. She had betrayed Konoha and he was not about to begin emulating someone like that. Plus, he had despised her for what she had done ever since they had first met, whether that was mainly because she insulted his family or whether it was because she had attacked him with jutsu that he had no way of blocking, or even that she had tried to steal his eyes before laughing about how underdeveloped they were... he could feel his jaw tensing and his teeth rubbing one against the other as he remembered exactly why he wasn't giving this guy a hard time.

The boy was a brat, it was obviously true. That wouldn't be that bad of a thing if he had the skills to back up his damned self importance and self confidence, but he didn't. He was, for all intents and purposes, a normal recent graduate of the academy. But still... When he had entered the forest to try and find a stray god all those weeks ago, he had expected nothing more than maybe a few wild animals or maybe someone else from the village who'd be pleasant company, though that had felt like a long shot at the time. What he had not been expecting was to get ambushed by a Senju girl, who would then go on to physically attack him, and force him to walk home with broken ankles for the severe crime of not really caring that much about trees and seeing his personal misery, of having lost his entire family, as being more damaging than being able to empathize with a non-sentient bunch of wood that grew out of mud. It was a strange thing, that it had happened so long ago, back when he was still a genin like this boy was, and yet he was still furious about it. It was what had seriously made him consider chasing the bitch down and ripping her to pieces so that he could finally have some peace, finally be rid of her and finally get some revenge. With a line of thought like that, he was not going to do what she had done, and he was going to take it easy on this kid no matter how much of a nuisance he was.

With that in mind, he was currently avoiding using any of his seriously strong jutsu, and many of those involved his sensing jutsu and his Sharingan. If he had used them, he would have known the plot that this boy was concocting, but because he didn't all he knew was that the boy had been hit with his genjutsu. That was a good sign, he thought as he moved forwards. He couldn't use any techniques against the boy, it was a very weak genjutsu that required him to not attack him with any jutsu for it to have its maximum effect on the boy. Even if he wasn't holding back, he wouldn't have been able to use anything stronger for risk of letting the boy out of the prison of sound that he was currently in. Though it was true that in his current state he was completely unaware of what was going on with the wires that were quickly encroaching across the ground towards him, it actually didn't matter at all in the end. Instead of being attacked, he had moved forwards almost immediately after his jutsu had landed, avoiding the spot that the boy was wrapping the invisible cord around. Considering his own speed compared to the boy's reaction time, he would have seemed like little more than a blur as he moved across the area, before winding up behind the boy. The one around his neck had failed... but that wasn't the only one being shot out around the area.

The wires slammed into him and yanked him backwards with their force of movement, pulling him towards a tree. What was this.. the kid didn't seem like he would be able to cast something like this, so it wasn't using jutsu alone... he had to be using some sort of weapon. Moving his hand out, he could feel a very slight wire running around his arm, and so... grabbed on and yanked it, hard. Now, normally someone pulling a wire from someone's control would not be a very smart move, it would cause it to move forwards and slice the person's hand. However, he clearly did not care about getting his hand cut, as when the slight superficial wound appeared on his hand, it actually cut through the vision block and instead revealed what had gone on to him. the wires surrounded his body, so as he continued to pull, he yanked more and more of the raveled up end of it, eventually deciding to be rather cruel, grabbing two pieces between his hands and ripping them apart through sheer blunt force. Now that he had that over and done with, and whilst he was taking a few seconds to remove the wires, he dropped down to the ground, roling as he landed, and shot the boy a death glare as he got back to his feet.

"now... that was slightly less pathetic. Though, only slightly. I can't imagine how much chakra you had to spend on doing something like that, and it didn't even cause a wound on me." he said, counting the bite wound and the cut on the center of his hand being self inflicted injuries and thus not going anywhere towards what this boy was earning through the fight. Now that it was on his turf, however, he was going to be a lot more unforgiving. He wanted to test out a jutsu, and this kid who clearly knew his way around genjutsus would be the perfect candidate to try it out on.

"If you use your little wires to try and fight people, let's see how fast you can use them. Do you have anything that can actually catch up to me? Give it a try, boy!"As previously mentioned, when he began to move at his normal speeds, he became little more than a blur to the boy, and that was what he was going to use to trick his mind. As he moved at that speed, he worked up his chakra and expelled it. A large bell seemed to chime in the boy's head, unable to tell where it was coming from in his current state of noise delirium, it would seem to just be one of the bells from the local religious monastery that could be heard at this time of night. Konoha might not have the fire temple like Iwa did, but they had their own religious temples with chiming bells, that was what he'd based this genjutsu off of.

The moment the boy heard the sound of the chiming bells. he was caught. Where the blur of Oshi had been a second before... well, it was still there, still circling him like a hungry shark circling a bleeding victim in the water. However, there was no-one actually there. This was his invisibility jutsu, other people had ones like it but this one was his. It was very unique to him, it was something that he used to make sure that nobody was able to know what was going on. As long as the boy continued to look for him, he'd be dodging around the area, and never attacking him. Now, he was going to have to wait for the boy to try and figure out an attack plan, and in that time he would be able to just observe without risk of being attacked. Everything that was related to him from now on would disappear, his footprints on the earth were now gone, the boy unable to either feel or see them, and all he'd know was that he was still at risk of being attacked by the blurring shape. Even if he aimed a jutsu at him, it would just look like he had managed to dodge it. this technique was not, he thought, sporting, but it was still better than breaking his ankles for yucks.

The sounds that filled the young Genin's head where begging to become too much. The sound of brass instruments that filled his head was only getting louder and louder. Reag knelt on the floor, clutching his head, nails digging into his ears. As the sounds continued to increase in volume, he began to tear at the side of his head, drawing blood. As soon as he had pierced his skin, the sounds dissipated. Reag made a mental note of the Genjutsu, as he felt he could incorporate parts of it into one of his newer techniques. With a smile, he endeavored to work out a combat strategy that dealt with auditory overload. It would make a good cover for his wires.

Rapidly picking himself up, the young Konoha Genin looked around for his opponent, hoping to find him pinned to a tree, choking out. He found his Uchiha 'friend' pulled several feet backwards by his wires, though he seemed to be breaking his wires to free himself. Reag frowned at this. Unfortunately, he had not worked out a way to extend his wires yet, so ever precious bit of length was important to him. Still, if he had imbued his wires with a little fuuton chakra, the Uchiha in front of him would be dead. That brought a smile to the young Genin's face. A technical death blow to an enemy always put him in a good mood. That being said, if he knew he was facing a Jounin, he probably wouldn’t have endeavored to taunt his foe.

His red eyed opponent had finally freed himself. Reag's eye twitched as the arrogant Sharingan user spoke. "now... that was slightly less pathetic. Though, only slightly. I can't imagine how much chakra you had to spend on doing something like that, and it didn't even cause a wound on me." He snorted, and began to compose a counter in his head. How much had this guy had to drink? Any competent shinobi would recognize that being bound to a tree, even for a split second, was a death sentence. Never mind the fact that he could have infused his chakra into his wires. Reag was confident that with another year's worth of practice his technique would be perfect. Ergo, all that would be left of the Uchiha was quivering cubes of red jelly.

With a smirk, the Uchiha Jounin before him continued to talk. "If you use your little wires to try and fight people, let's see how fast you can use them. Do you have anything that can actually catch up to me? Give it a try, boy!" Reag's eye twitched as his foe began to run to the side and then literally vanished. Always at the corner of his eye, he could see a blur, constantly weaving and winding around the field. It was far to fast for him to keep track of. This would be a problem. He needed time to come up with an effective counter strategy to fight an invisible foe. Chances are, his enemy was still observing him. Stalling tactics it was. Opening his mouth, Reag began to speak, in an attempted to keep his foe occupied long enough to launch a counter.

“I'm surprised, Uchiha-sama. Vanishing without a trace like that is a very impressive skill. Sadly, I have already won this fight. Had I been using razor wire instead of training wire, when you crashed into that tree, nothing but cubes of red jelly would have been left of you.” A bit of an exaggeration, but he hoped the point hit home. If he wasn’t concerned about potentially killing a comrade, the Jounin would have been badly injured by his attack. If a Chuunin pulled the exact same attack, the Uchiha would be dead. With any luck, this statement would stall his invisible foe for long enough for him to begin his counter attack.

His wires where badly damaged, but he hoped he had enough length left in all of them for his next trick. Carefully, he unbound the chain wrapped around the fingers on his left hand, and let it dangle below him. Reag smiled. This was a bit of a gamble, but he hoped it would pay off.

“But that's beside the point. What technique is this? It's not pure Taijutsu, thats for sure. Speed mixed with a sound masking Ninjutsu, perhaps? In any case, it's very impressive. I hope my next trick can compare...” Reag sent his wires in the eight cardinal directions, while keeping his chain at his side. With the amount of speed his foe was using, he might trip over one of the small wires. At the same time, he began to prepare to go through a set of seals. “I hope this ninjutsu impresses you, Uchiha-sama. I've spent several weeks practicing it.” He hoped his foe could see the seals. They would be the same ones as the famous summoning technique.

First Step: Gather your chakra. Reag calmed himself, and gathered his natural energies all over his body, mixing them carefully with his Fuuton chakra. Second Step: Mold your chakra. Quick as a flash, he went through the seals for the summoning technique, molding his chakra. Final Step: Release your chakra. Quickly, he slammed his hands into the ground, as he shouted “Akuma Kchiyose no Jutsu: Ko Cthulhu (Demonic Summoning Technique: Cthulhu Version).”

A subtle breeze picked up throughout the clearing. Assuming his foe was still somewhere nearby, he would be caught in his Ikite iru gazō (Living Images). The image itself was simple. He would make the elder god Cthulhu appear behind him, in it's demonic and insane glory. Hopefully, the shock would disrupt his opponents concentration enough for him to trip over one of the wires, or loose control of his skill.

Reag whispered "P͉̘͍̯̪͓͇h̝̞̝̯͢'͕̗̹̜͈̣n̞̼̘g҉̟̦̫̟̺̹l͙̻u҉͈̭͓̞̰i̻̙͝ ̤͉̖̞̪̳͡m̼̳̮̻̻̫g̱̫͈̲͖̼l̞̱̯̺̦w̵̱̫'̝͉̺͈̜̹ͅǹ̦̞̥̯̪ͅa̩̯̖f͓͕h̨͎ ͉͓̗̘̠̗̺C̡̤̹̜͍͈̙t͖̲ẖ̭u̘̙̲̙l̥̖͖h̵͍͕͇̜͙ú ͕̭̘Ŕ'̣͘l͓̱̫̼̲̹y̧͙͔͙̙̖͔̘e̼͕̹͟h͔͖ ͚̜̠̩̳w̛̗̰͕͎̙̝g̛̥̣̝͈̞̭̱a͏͚̥h̭̩̹͕͉̖̥'̪͖̺̘̭͇n̪á̤̣͓̦͔gl̢̠̻ ̩͖̘̮f̜h̫́t̝̘͖̤͙̭͜a҉̩͇̮̠͙̠g̥͙̟̲n̬͞.̣͕͇̬͘ " as the fake cthulhu behind him roared in rage.

Uchiha Oshiki

Uchiha Oshiki

D-rank
People reacted to his jutsu in different ways; Some people were driven insane by the sheer pain that it forced the victim to live through, other people pretended they were fine before collapsing in agony, and others... well, others did exactly what Reag had just done. From his close position to the young boy, he watched as he dealt with the sound as most people did. They began to rip at their ears, aiming to put out their eardrums. After all, if they can't hear the sound any more it won't cause them any more pain will it? that was clearly what the boy had thought too as he had ripped through himself like he was tissue paper. Oshi hadn't even had to attack him yet and yet he was so much more debilitated than Oshi had been by any of his attacks. This was pretty impressive, and he was even more impressed by the boy's inner strength that he was able to do that to himself. Few people had the bravery to do it, even in the midst of the blinding pain. Unfortunately for him, he had done it just before the jutsu would have cancelled anyway, so that self mutilation was really not for anything. If he had weathered a bit more pain, then he would have been free without injury. Now blood was pouring out of his ears, forming red streaks  down his face almost like some kind of ceremonial make up.

Now that his little illusion was lulling the boy into thinking one thing, he moved around to a better situation, trying to ork out when and how he was going to do his next attack. He knew very well that he could do a lot of lesser attacks without having to reveal his position, his illusion would just follow him. Now, however, he was going to have to wait and see what the boy would come up with. He was about to dig his own grave, that was for sure, but what was seriously important in this situation was seeing just how the boy did it. the pride and self importance that he had first noticed in the boy's face was still there, and he really desired to knock the boy out of his little self delusions, but for now he was just going to have to watch and see what he could do. After all, as weak as he was, this boy was interesting. He showed a lot of potential, especially since he had trapped him inside two jutsus so far, one genjutsu and the other was that annoying wire jutsu. If he had been focusing on defense, it would never have happened, but excuses were just that; excuses. They wouldn't help him win this fight, though from the point that the boy had let himself get caught within the jutsu it was always going to be his victory.... No, the sheer difference in their levels assured this as his victory. With a little bit more training, however, he was sure that the battle would have had equal footing.

“I'm surprised, Uchiha-sama. Vanishing without a trace like that is a very impressive skill. Sadly, I have already won this fight. Had I been using razor wire instead of training wire, when you crashed into that tree, nothing but cubes of red jelly would have been left of you.” the boy said... he had not crashed into the tree, Oshi thought with a bitter little snarl. He had been caught, but he dealt with it instantly. The boy claiming that he had won this... well, the fight was far from over if he wanted to be the one who won it, but unfortunately Oshi was not going to give him the chance to try and win this fight. He was going to rip him into tiny little shards with his next jutsu, something that would in equal parts horrify and sicken the boy that was about to go through it. First, however, he was going to let the boy run through his jutsu as he tried to work out how to hit that little illusion of his.

The illusion, however, just turned as he moved through the area, making a large circle around the boy's location, making it known that he was prey to whatever little machination he had in mind. The little machination, it turned out, involved having to deal with the boy's ribbon-wires once again. As the boy spread out his ribbons once again, Oshi made sure to stay out of their way this time, making sure not to let them catch around him. He knew what they could do, and he also knew that whilst his location was hidden from sight, sound, or any other methods of detection the boy might try, if he stood on the wire and the wire stopped moving, the boy would find something dodgy with this situation. It was one of the things he needed to be most careful of, because if he worked out that there was an invisible presence in this area then he would stop caring about that little blur and would start trying to find someone who was invisible. In the boy's vision, he would see the sight nimbly dodging and weaving against the wires, never tripping over them and never actually touching them. that was the only way that the boy's subconsious would rationalize never getting a hit, and it would have seemed like he had incredible reaction times, which he did. He was an Uchiha, but he was also a jounin. Training always conquered all.

“Akuma Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Ko Cthulhu" The boy called out, summoning some sort of creature... well, no, not some sort of creature, Oshi thought with a bitter little thought, that was Cthulthu!  His eyes opened in horror for a second as his brain still believed what it was seeing, before logic had finally reasserted itself in his brain and he was able to think clearly without these damned sensations of panic running through his head. He had read enough world literature to know very well that this thing should not be possible, it should not exist... No, he thought, he knew that it didn't exist. Lovecraft was an insane man, he was a racist and a man who should not be trusted, but his mind came up with these brilliant illusions. He had said that cthulthu was based off of his fear of people from a different place, and even the words that the boy was whispering under his breath was cliche. Oshi's skill of reading muscle posture had given him the ability to lip read like nobody's business, he knew exactly what the boy was saying.

"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" or, in the language of "the old gods", "In his house in R'lyeh, dead Cthulthu waits dreaming". It was a quote from the Call of Cthulthu, a book he remembered reading to try and impress his sister with his world knowledge. He'd never actually liked the book all that much, it seemed too long and boring for his taste, but he knew all too well that Cthulthu was not real, that this was an illusion. Still, he moved to heal that annoying wound of his. Yanking his headband off his neck, he began to wrap it around the cut he'd obtained on his hand, wrapping it perhaps too tightly as he bit his lip, undoing the headband and redoing the make-shift bandage job again. He was still needing to train in the arts of medication, he thought as he looked back up, the pain having banished the boy's little false demon puppet thing. Now he was going to give the brat the time of his life for doing something like that.

Walking over to him calmly and collectedly, he walked around until he was directly behind him, carefully picking his feet up so that he didn't walk over the wires that now littered the ground. It was hardly a lattice work but still... as he approached, it would look as if his illusion had fully disappeared now, no longer even a blur, like he had gone yet faster still. When the boy stopped paying attention, he would move his hand forwards with all the speed that has caused him to blur earlier, resting the palm of his hand against the back of the boy's head. Although he knew all too well that this would let the boy know that he was now behind him, that knowledge was no longer of any use to him. Where his hand had touched him, there would now be the sign of a fuinjutsu, wrapping out from that spot and beginning to snake over his body like a giant chain tattoo, soon covering his entire flesh. The moment that he touched the boy, he would have lost all ability to move, not even able to move his lung to breathe. The only thing that was still able to move was his heart, and with his sudden inability to breathe, even the beating of his heart would begin to deteriorate, trapped in the coffin of his own body. It didn't even look or feel like he was in a genjutsu, if he could see himself, he would see his limbs, hands, fingers, face, every part of his body wrapped up in the same chakra chain that was binding him to the spot.

OOC: Not much to really write about :/

With a nod, Reag continued to look around, trying to zero his site on the blur that taunted him. It would seem his gambit had failed, as nothing had tripped the wires he littered all across the floor. The young Genin had hoped that due to his opponents insane movement speed, he would overlook the wires that littered the floor. Quickly, he caused his wires to rapidly rotate around him, hoping to crash into his opponent via blind luck. At the same time, the young Konoha ninja continued to try and get a lock on the rapidly moving blur around him. This endeavor was not going well for him, as it would appear that the blur was now moving so fast that he couldn’t see any trace of it.

This would be a problem. With no visual, auditory, or kinetic clues, Reag was flying blind. He was already burning through his chakra rapidly. If he couldn’t come up with a counter strategy, the young Genin knew the battle was over. His lovecraftian monster would be of no use preventing an attack from actually connecting. There was only one thing to do at this point: retreat and regroup. Quickly, Reag went through his escape options. He had already burned through his smoke screen illusion, so that was right out. Perhaps it was time for him to prepare a Kawarimi.

The Genin began his ritual. First step: Gather your chakra. Carefully, he began to mold his chakra in in body, and searched for a nearby log to replace himself with. Yet, as he was doing so, a hand on the back of his head interrupted his thought process. Mentally, Reag cursed like a drunken sailor. He had not been fast enough with his escape tactics. His opponent had got him. He was dead. Reag tried to move his hands up in recognition of the loss, but found that he couldn’t. With mounting terror, the young leaf shinobi began to take mental inventory of his body, and was not liking what he found.

Nothing was working. His limbs would not obey his commands, nor would his legs. Even his lungs failed to work. Panic was rapidly blooming in the young ninja's chest, though he knew if he lost his head, he wouldn’t come out of this in one piece. Fortunately, it seemed that his foes imprisonment jutsu didn’t seem to effect his chakra control. If he could, he would have smiled. The wires still worked. At the very least, he could form a counter attack of some sort. Slowly, a plan began to form in his head. It was risky, but at the very least, he would get the last laugh.

As fast as he could, he sent his wires to snake around behind him, avoiding the Uchiha behind him in a large circle. As they went, they set up a series of pulleys and anchors in preparation for this little stunt. The wires then snaked up a tree, and created a pulley to one of the stronger branches. Finally, the wires looped into a single slipknot, and rocketed towards his red eyed opponents neck. As he did this, he controlled his chain to push him over.

His plan was simple. Get the Uchiha who had paralyzed him in a hangman's knot, then pull the wire tight by falling over. Because his wires where connected to him, this movement would have been enough to kill his opponent, if he had sharpened them at all. Unfortunately, Reag couldn’t see if his plan succeed. The only thing he could see was the ground rapidly coming up to meet him. He mentally frowned. This was going to hurt.

The technique had worked, as he had known it would.  As he moved around to the front of the boy's body. he watched him fuck around with his little tricks with the wire. He wanted to have some way to destroy it, but for now he was just going to have to watch him play around with it. Fortunately for him, his illusion still worked because of the way that it was screwing around with his mind. This was the reason why he was so deadly on the battlefield, because before people could do what they wanted to do, he was able to fuck around with them, ripping them to pieces whilst they didn't know what was going on. His little illusion would make this fight his, even with him still trying to play around with his little wires. He wondered when it would be strategically useful for him to break out of this invisibility, this double act was incredibly potent, but the problem with it was that he was being drained of chakra very rapidly. He had made jokes about how shockingly inefficient the kid's battle plan was, but his own was hardly better. It was burning through his body's natural supply of chakra like a fat person at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Thankfully, however, he had a large amount of it.

As the wires snaked around to try and get him, he shot backwards a fair way whilst his illusion moved to the right, getting the wires to chase him. It was a strange thought that this fight had gone as well for the kid as it had. Of course, he wasn't actively trying to kill him which was probably a factor in the boy's success rate in this fight, but even beyond the obvious there was something rather impressive about the kid's skill. Whereas most little genin brats would just run around like a headless chicken the moment something went wrong, or when they were trapped like this, the boy didn't. Hell, he didn't even bother trying to hurt himself to get free as he'd done to get out of the boy's genjutsu. that being said... it didn't look like a genjutsu, and even if it did it was too strong to break against any of his techniques that he would be able to do. So, really, continuing the fight and trying to end it was the only way that he could really get anything from this fight. As the sages had once said "If you must die, take your enemy out with you. then the armies are just smaller, there's no change in advantage".

The wires were, under Raeg's instructions, following the thing that he thought was Oshi, leading away from the actual Oshi. As the wires did, leading them away from where his actual body was, he watched the boy force himself forwards with his chain and then throw some sort of noose around the area where his clone currently was. It, unfortunately for the boy, seemed to miss as his illusion suddenly side-stepped, letting it hit into the ground. Unfortunately for the boy, all he had really managed to do was make himself fall over which, quite frankly, looked rather painful. Without anything to support him, he was now lying there and he thought he heard something break. That was not a good noise, he thought, but at least it wasn't enough pain to break out of one of his genjutsu. Especially since they required direct chakra intervention, and that required levels of techniques far beyond that of which this boy seemed capable.

Finally moving out of his cover, he walked over to the knot and... picked it up, grabbing it in his hand so that it wouldn't be able to be moved any more. He wondered which would be stronger, his brute force or the boy's chakra control over the object. It was like a snake, he was having to hold it against the metal part of his head-band, just in case he was strong enough to move it and he cut through into his flesh otherwise. This way, if he managed to move it, he'd only get the metal bit and that would be next to useless. He wasn't entirely sure just how much of this thing the boy had left, but deciding that it was time to get rid of his cloaking field, he dropped the illusion, revealing himself. Considering where the illusion had been standing compared to where he was standing now, it would have become painfully clear that that was an illusion.

"You have no idea how much invisibility makes your body ache." He teased, rolling his shoulders as if he was trying to stretch, the same way someone who had been cramped in a tight space might. It was somehow ludicrous, but still he smiled, flashing the boy some of his charismatic Uchiha charm. This level of charm made some girls swoon and some straight guys consider whether or not they were actually straight, but for the boy... well, most likely just make him feel embarrassed. He was, after all, just a little kid, he doubted whether the boy even knew what attraction was.

"Don't feel so bad about being beaten by me, kid, I'm a jounin and you're a genin, but... you are one hell of a genin, I'll give you that much." He said, smiling as he walked towards him, standing close enough away that he could dodge if the boy decided to launch some more of his wire at him, but close enough that he could be heard intimately.

"Seriously, I don't even know who you are properly but I know you're impressive. that little trick with the wire? It would have hurt... would have, but didn't. You need to work on being creative with it, when people can see it coming it's never going to work right. After all, wire is wire, it's hardly a deadly weapon without the element of surprise." he said, somehow seeming both drunk and.. well, surprisingly knowledgeable. It was something that six years of experience would do to someone, he figured.

"But, I guess you want to know what's going to happen to you. See, you're currently being sealed inside your own body... think of it like a full body paralysis seal, because that's pretty much what it is." he said, his voice strangely enough seeming a little bit sheepish. "You see the chain wrapping around you? That's chakra-enthused ink, it came onto your skin the moment I touched the back of your head. As you can probably tell by the burning in your lungs, your body is now paralyzed, the only thing still moving is your heart. Your lungs will stay like that for a while yet... don't worry, I'm not killing you, just showing you not to fuck around with someone who's clearly more trained than you are. Of course... talking about training..." he said, before trailing off.

The ground rushed up to meet his face. His earlier thoughts where correct; It did hurt. More than that, it hurt like three bitches on a bitch boat. If the young Genin could, he would have gripped his nose. It was god damn agony. Later on, he would describe the feeling as 'having a rusty saw go to town on my head'. Since Reag had landed on his mask, his nose was forced into his face, and he would be lucky if it wasn’t broken. The impact with the earth had caused the young shinobi's head to turn to the side, giving him a decent look at the battlefield. If he still could, he would frown at what he saw.

His victorious foe literally appeared out of thin air, though not where he expected him too. Suddenly, he realized why the past thirty seconds had been so confusing for him. He had assumed his foe was using Ninjutsu to cover himself, when in reality, it was all an illusion. He was beaten at his own game. The young Genin watched with growing horror, noticing the Uchiha was holding several of his wires. He prayed that the red eyed Jounin before him didn’t yank on them, as that would lead to a world of hurt for him. It also looked like he was using his forehead protector to safely grasp the wires, meaning there would be no way for him to use this to his advantage.

In short, Reag was forced to the conclusion that it was over. Nothing he could do about it now, save lose gracefully. He retracted the remainder of his damaged wires into his gloves, leaving only the three wires the Uchiha was holding. He also dropped all the anchors and pulleys connected to them, gaining considerable slack. Finally, he ended his Harigane Kanri no Jutsu (Wire Control Technique), returning his chakra controlled wires back to normal. He tried, once again, to sigh. As he could not complete the action, the young leaf shinobi settled for a mental one instead. There was no way out for him. It was at this point that his red eyed former opponent spoke.

"You have no idea how much invisibility makes your body ache." Then, the Jounin smiled. Great. As Reag perceived it, not only was he humiliated, but now the Uchiha was rubbing it in. It never occurred to the young boy that his older companion might just be trying to diffuse the situation. The red eyed Jounin continued to speak. "Don't feel so bad about being beaten by me, kid, I'm a jounin and you're a genin, but... you are one hell of a genin, I'll give you that much." If he could move any of his mussels, he would have raised an eyebrow. If he could speak, he would have said something akin to 'Praise from Caesar is praise indeed' in a tongue and cheek manor. Who could blame him? He was a sore loser.

"Seriously, I don't even know who you are properly but I know you're impressive. that little trick with the wire? It would have hurt... would have, but didn't. You need to work on being creative with it, when people can see it coming it's never going to work right. After all, wire is wire, it's hardly a deadly weapon without the element of surprise." And with that, the tone of the encounter changed. No longer did Reag feel that this was a hostile encounter. Hell, the Uchiha had helped him point out some major flaws in his techniques.

His Jounin acquaintance was right. Currently, he had only two techniques for hiding his attacks, both of them easily defeated. When it came to how dangerous the wires where though, Reag firmly disagreed with his impromptu mentor's judgment. He was using training wire, akin to a wooden sword, as to avoid damaging his razor wire. In addition, his technique for making his normal wire more dangerous was not something he would use on a fellow leaf nin, unless absolutely necessary. Despite his cool and professional demeanor when wearing his mask, Reag was not antisocial enough to be willing to inflict unnecessary harm on a stranger. The fact that his Onojutsu style revolved around instant kills also factored in. Even the Hokage would die if his neck was slashed open.

The Jounin continued his speech. "But, I guess you want to know what's going to happen to you. See, you're currently being sealed inside your own body... think of it like a full body paralysis seal, because that's pretty much what it is. You see the chain wrapping around you? That's chakra-enthused ink, it came onto your skin the moment I touched the back of your head. As you can probably tell by the burning in your lungs, your body is now paralyzed, the only thing still moving is your heart. Your lungs will stay like that for a while yet... don't worry, I'm not killing you, just showing you not to fuck around with someone who's clearly more trained than you are. Of course... talking about training..." Reag raised another metaphorical eyebrow, ignoring his burning lungs. Now things where getting interesting.

Your lungs will stay like that for a while yet... don't worry, I'm not killing you, just showing you not to fuck around with someone who's clearly more trained than you are. Of course... talking about training..." he said, as he positioned himself around the kid's body, noticing the retraction of the wires. He was sure that the boy was finished with the fight, and if he stopped this now he'd be able to prevent him from going unconscious.. of course, this could all just be one big trick; The ninjas of this village were famed for their ability to trick people, and he was one of the best at doing that. So, he was going to let the boy pass out, and then he was going to take him somewhere safe. That seemed like the best thing to do in this position now, besides that way the kid would know not to f**k around with him any more.

"Well, your training's pretty damned impressive." he said, moving so he sat in front of the boy, in a position where he could still be seen. It was true, someone able to do this much as a genin? that was nearly unheard of. This was the first kid who'd ever managed to get even a single strike done on his body, even if they were all self administered. The boy had managed to do stuff other people would feel envious of, and those people were chunins and special jounin. He'd only seen two people of Reag's level when they were genin, and one of those was himself. the other was Mitsuo, the last ANBU captain. If the boy was that good at this age... he wanted to see how far he'd come in 11 years. Maybe he'd even be one of his Sannin one day, when he finally ascended to the throne. He'd be a fine little addition, though he still wasn't entirely sure he could trust the boy. But, what he was going to do now was give an offer.

"I mean it, your training is one of the best I've ever seen for someone of your rank. So, I'm presenting you with an opportunity that some people would kill for. You're probably already in a team, judging how I was just presented with my new team, which implies everyone has been sent their own taskforce by now. I don't know who's leading you now, but what I do know is that I'd be interested in being your mentor."

The position of mentor and mentee was a strange one to be sure. Everyone knew what the position of student and teacher was, they were the ones that were tasked with keeping their student safe and teaching them not just how to be a ninja but how to be a soldier for the village. Mentor and mentee wasn't quite as official as that, however. Sometimes, people had their own little strength that wasn't being helped by their teacher. Whether that was because their teacher was inept in that area or simply because the boy didn't respect their teacher in that regard, they sometimes needed a bit of outside help.

That outside help frequently came from higher ranked members of the village, even if they're considered weaker than the child's full teacher. They were specialists in the area that the student felt like they needed to learn, and because of their skill in those situations they became incredibly useful, teaching things that the child would never be able to learn through normal means. Whilst it seemed like it would be very useful, it wasn't actually that common. In fact, it was especially rare that Oshi would be one of the people helping out, this was his first time having such a relationship with anyone. He was a teacher, but a mentor? That was something someone became through choice, not through bureaucratic force. The village seemed sometimes to thrive off of bureaucrats, but the point remained that this relationship was supposed to be one of choice, where a student would choose a master or a master would choose a student, it wasn't made by some machine in a building somewhere telling people who needed their help the most.

"I'm not asking you to trust me, considering what we just fought about I don't think it would be humanly possible for you to trust me right now. Neither am I asking you to like me, I don't know you enough for that and I can only think that the feeling is mutual. What I am offering, however, is a chance to become stronger, to become more than you currently are. Let's face it, your genjutsu is powerful, but it's also very rare. Few people in this village have the slightest bit of mastery of the arts, and I think I might be the only person you've ever come across that has it perfected this far. If you train under me, I'm sure you'll be able to go much further than if you were just there on your own. remember where being self-important and individualistic left you? On the floor, struggling to breathe through your paralysis. It's not a good position to never have someone to cover your back, especially when people like me have techniques like this. Ya understand?" He asked, raising an eyebrow, before clarifying something

"I know you dislike Uchiha, I can see it through the way you look at me, I can see it through the way you respond to me, I can tell it through the way you asked me to turn my sharingan off to fight you properly. But, remember this; Not every clan member is the same. Do you think all Hyuga are nerdy swots with little more than books to live for in their lives? Do you think all Uzumaki are compassionate fools who don't realize they're being used by people for their own gain? People aren't all the same, not every member of a clan is going to have the same opinions. Don't judge someone for the color of their skin, nor for the fact that their eyes spin."

His body was shutting down. Struggling against the technique that bound him, Reag was growing very uncomfortable. The Genin needed to breath. He was stuck in some kind of seal that kept him from moving. It would also seem that breathing counted as moving. At the rate things where going, Reag new he wouldn’t be conscious much longer. Fortunately, his Uchiha 'friend' had assured him that the technique affecting him wouldn’t actually kill him. Small mercies. The Genin figured he had about another thirty seconds or so of lucidity till his body simply knocked him out. The entire time would probably be torture. Ow joy.

The Jounin before him continued his one sided conversation. "Well, your training's pretty damned impressive." Finally, the Sharingan user moved into his field of view. Reag noted that the Jounin looked impressed, and mentally smiled. Well, at least he had managed that much with his pointless fight. With a smile, the older shinobi continued to talk. "I mean it, your training is one of the best I've ever seen for someone of your rank. So, I'm presenting you with an opportunity that some people would kill for.” Reag raised a mental eyebrow at that statement. The man before him was about to propose something life changing.

You're probably already in a team, judging how I was just presented with my new team, which implies everyone has been sent their own taskforce by now. I don't know who's leading you now, but what I do know is that I'd be interested in being your mentor." That surprised Reag. Mentors where a very rare occurrence in the general shinobi ranks. Having one almost always meant that the pupil was destined for higher things. This was his ticket into ANBU. Briefly, thoughts of joining a prestigious hunter-nin squad flew through his head. Also, the huge bounties would be very nice.

"I'm not asking you to trust me, considering what we just fought about I don't think it would be humanly possible for you to trust me right now. Neither am I asking you to like me, I don't know you enough for that and I can only think that the feeling is mutual.” Reag internally nodded at that. The Genin never liked the Uchiha clan, though for different reasons than most. His dislike stemmed from the fact that, with their red eyes, the clan could see through any illusion he could cast. Reag hated all the Doujutsu users.

The Uchiha before him continued to speak. “What I am offering, however, is a chance to become stronger, to become more than you currently are. Let's face it, your genjutsu is powerful, but it's also very rare. Few people in this village have the slightest bit of mastery of the arts, and I think I might be the only person you've ever come across that has it perfected this far. On the floor, struggling to breathe through your paralysis. It's not a good position to never have someone to cover your back, especially when people like me have techniques like this. Ya understand?" He understood. Perfectly.

It was not his brightest moment, antagonizing a drunk Jounin in the middle of the night. It was, perhaps, the dumbest thing he had done in his short life. Yet, at the same time, it had given him an opportunity that few others would have. If he could, Reag would have laughed at the absurdity of it all. His eyes darted back towards the older Jounin. The young ninja noted that his vision was loosing color, and his field of view was turning into a tunnel. He could also feel his thoughts slowly muddling up.

People aren't all the same, not every member of a clan is going to have the same opinions. Don't judge someone for the color of their skin, nor for the fact that their eyes spin."

He couldn't focus on the end of the Jounins rant. He was out of air for too long. His body was fighting to do anything it could to get some air, and failing miserably. At long last, the Genin closed his eyes, and was out like a light. Sleep finally took him, and the illusion restraining him broke.
