The morning sun slowly peaked from behind the horizon, it's counterpart having woken it from it's night slumber – to do the duties that were granted to it by the deities – warm up the earth with it's rays. Begrudgingly the sun awaken from it's sleep, climbing the stairs that led up to Earth's horizon in order to fulfill such a duty. And this is where we find the heat given source, standing on the edge of the horizon, it's arms already stretched out – rays of heat resonating from them – heating the earth like a giant hotplate.

Of course the warmth from the shaft of lights caused the inhabitants of the world to stir from their slumber. If the sun couldn't sleep, they couldn't either! Yes, that's were the thoughts sun, it grinning wickedly at the sight of the first person stirring from their sleep. It was assuming to say the least, how some were using such a vulgar language that a sailor would be blushing from hearing it. Others tried valiantly to fight the urge of waking up, but one couldn't win against the sun. For it's an opponent that couldn't be contended with.

However! Not all were fighting against the sun's arms. No, a few were already up and moving about, going about their normal routines. The majority of these individuals were shinobis who knew very little about rest or even sleep for that matter. They having to the 'glorified' job of keeping their respective villages safe from threats both foreign and domestic. They also had the indirect job of getting and keeping clients happy, fulfilling tasks for them. Yes, besides being a killer, shinobis were also businessman in a twisted since. This was no where more prominent than in the village hidden in the rocks. Darken shadows bouncing to and from unknown destination, some even having the luxury of resting – enjoying the small reprieve from the daily grind.

And it's one of these shinobis that we founded ourselves following today. Known throughout the Elemental Nations as a former geisha, Guanyin Nanashi were just now leaving the confinements of his home. The silver haired male having woken up before the sun's rays could interfere with his sleep, a single yellow eye look out of the window adjecent from the bed – thoughts plague with trivial things. Well at least for the most part. Today would would be his first day back on active duty since the incident that had eight months ago. The head doctor at the hospital had cleared him physical fit to return to the active list. Of course this was after he was subjected to numerous of test – making him feel like a lab rat with all the poking and prodding they did. While it was an inconvenience, he understood the reasoning for such perfectly.

The man stood before the window a few more minutes, before turning and heading towards his bathroom to get ready for the day.

Roughly twenty minutes passed before Nanashi appeared outside of his house, locking it up before heading towards the mission hall. Yes, on his first day on active duty the man planned on doing a mission. And unlike what some might suspect, he wasn't going to do a D or C rank mission. . .oh no he had something else in mind. Thankfully those who were out about, going about there day didn't give the man a second glance either to occupied with other things or just really didn't care. Not like they haven't seen the one eyed man before. Seemingly lost in thought, Nanashi founded himself within the mission hall, waiting in the small line of other shinobis looking to get a mission.

“Any particular, you want?” The balded head male chuunin asked, having the 'fun' job of manning the mission desk.

Yeah, Defend the Fortress.” The chuunin didn't even raise an eyebrow at the special jounin's request, shuffling through the basket of B-rank missions to find the one that Nanashi asked before.

Thanks. . .” Nanashi said catching the scroll and turning away, heading outside to sit on the bench outside of the mission hall – waiting for his student. Nanashi had told Alessi yesterday that they would be doing a mission together, she having been there when they tested him thus knew that he was back on the active list, so she knew to meet him at the mission hall this morning. . .

Alessi’s eyes slowly opened as a ray of sunshine began to peek in through her window. She was in the perfect position to lounge around in her bed, but unfortunately, Her Sensei had mentioned doing another mission that morning. With slight arch of her back, she stretched out her back and sighed. Slowly lifting the covers up, a cold chill rushed under her covers. After taking her time to get out of bed, she headed right into her normal routine of cleaning herself up and waking up at the same time. Once all of her cleanliness issues were taken care of, Alessi moved to wardrobe and got dressed. As she slipped the shirt on, she wondered why she always seemed to stick with the same outfit. She had different choices, yet almost always picked the same thing to wear. Shaking her head to forget the thought, she made her way downstairs and grabbed something to eat. Thankfully, Nanashi didn’t come to wake her for this mission. The lack of sleep made her unaware and a bit sloppy. With a simple shoulder shrug and a bite of an apple, she snatched her bag from its resting place and headed out the door.

Knowing that Nanashi would be at the mission hall, she made no stops and headed right for it. Though it took her a few minutes to reach it, Alessi arrived right on time. Looking around, her eyes immediately locked on to Nanashi when she spotted him. Calling over to him while walking, a grin seemed to brighten her face. “Nanashi!” Stopping her walk on a bounce, she looked up at him and put her arms behind her back to wait for a response.

Nanashi twirled a senbon effortless between his fingers, the man patiently waiting for his student to show up for this mission. His mind began to drifted out in thought about the one underneath his care for the time being – Alessi. He would deny every accusation of him ever caring for short tempered, pacifist female. And know matter how many times he deny such comments, many knows that he does care for her on some level. Excluding every perverted thing that he has caused her, Nanashi never really did anything that truly jeopardize the woman's health. Of course this could be looked at more closely. . .
And there she was. A bright smile. Or maybe grin? That were on her face seem to lighten up the entire area. Those in the vicinity didn't even bat an eyelash at the chuunin who called out to the special jounin who was sitting on the bench, senbon still twirling in his hand.
Now are you happy to see me? Or are you happy for this mission?” A rhetorical question that Nanashi didn't really care for, but nevertheless he asked it anyway. Standing up, bones creaking in protest, the eye-patched man looked at Alessi momentarily, hand fingering the scroll before tossing it to her.
It's a B-rank mission. Clearing out some bandits. “He waited to see the woman's reaction of them having to 'clear' out some bandits. Usually this meant that they had to permanently remove the threat of them from the clearing. In lame man's terms, kill them. However, Nanashi had an alternative way of dealing with these bandits, knowing full well that Alessi wouldn't kill them no matter what. But for now he would let her think they would.
So you ready?” Once getting a nod from his student, Nanashi began walking through the street of Iwagakure.

“I’d probably say both... I haven’t seen you lately, and haven’t been on a mission with you in a while too.” Shrugging her shoulders up, she kept her grin up and took a spot next to her Sensei.

When Nanashi mentioned “clearing”, she could only guess that meant death, which meant this wasn’t a mission she’d prefer. However, she would play along till it came time to deal with the bandits. Alessi could simply incapacitate the bandits if the need be. Her skills as a ninja and a medic had really come far thanks to her Sensei’s guidance and brutal training. Though most of his methods were tough, like he said they would be, she was still going through with it. She’d most likely show what kind of fighting style she developed in this upcoming mission.

With a nod, she followed next to her Sensei as they went through Iwa’s streets. “Hey Nanashi... What’s the plan with these bandits? Are we going to have to... you know...” She was main referring to the fact that they would most likely have to end of the bandit’s lives. Her gut feeling was that she wasn’t going to like the answer, but then again, she had been wrong about Nanashi’s thought process before.

Death, is as common as the air within the atmosphere, and yet so many people are afraid of it. Why be afraid of something that you have no control over? Why live a life of fear of an unstoppable force that will come for you when the time is right? So many try to prevent it from happening that they inevitably end up prematurely forfeiting their lives to the Shinigami. A death that came to soon. Yes, there were those who fear death, Nanashi having met a few in his short life. And than there were likes like her. . .
Alessi
The woman, his student, didn't have a fear of dying but rather killing. The one art that shinobi were trained to do, is the one thing she were incapable of doing. Like there were something preventing her from committing the act. Nanashi himself doesn't know why she can't kill another being. It's as easy as breathing in air – well at least easy for him. But with her there were simply something that prevents her from doing such. Did it had to do with some traumatic childhood event, mentally scarring her? Or was it simply the fact that she couldn't fathom committing an adulterous act? It probably wouldn't do him much good to think about such things, not like he was a shrink. . .
The streets of Iwagakure were a beehive of activity. The stereotypical 'morning rush', everybody were moving about the jammed packed streets, starting their day, unaware that killers walked amongst them. It's one of the greatest gift that those who call themselves shinobi have in their arsenal, the ability to perfectly blend in with the general public, with many not being none the wiser. However, those who are perceptive enough they can tell the difference between a untrained civilian to that of a trained shinobi. The grace of move. The tightly coil muscles, ready to spring at the slightly indication. Eyes that are constantly surveying there surrounding for potential threats. Yeah there are certain wired abilities that one can't help to break.
The uncertainty in her voices was crystal clear, and yet he didn't do anything to comfort her, give her soothing words that would calm her anxiety, instead veering right moments before the lackluster gates reached their eyes. There weren't any need for heading through them, for their mission dealt with bandits around the construction area of Bastion Adamantine, which were located in an isolated portion of Iwagakure. It being separated via the small dense, rocky forest that had numerous of hills and the terrain varying the deeper one goes.
The plan is simple. Stop them before they could do any more harm. Kill or incapacitate them, is up to our choices. “Jumping on a branch, eyes locking onto Alessi “If you incapacitate them, make sure they can't run away or scream.” With that Nanashi moved deeper within the foliage.

There was always some uneasy feelings whenever Alessi had to go on a mission with her Sensei. It usually involved what the contents of the mission were, but there were a few times where Nanashi’s personality is what made her nervous. For this mission in particular, she was given the freedom to act how she pleased. She wasn’t too happy with herself as she continued to think out the mission. A ninja who couldn’t bring herself around to taking one’s life. Something like that was unheard of, but unfortunately, Alessi was there to prove that wrong.

Alessi was glad to hear she could simply incapacitate her enemies. In fact, she actually preferred keeping people subdued instead of offing them right then and there. She could only hope that in the upcoming fights, she would have enough strength to find openings and halt any more activity from the enemy. Reaching her hand into the bag on her hip, she felt around to see what supplies she had. Closing her eyes as she tapped the individual items, Alessi listed off them in her mind. It probably wasn’t the best idea to close her eyes considering she was walking into a more forested area. Her right foot got caught on a loose vine on the forest floor and immediately caused her to fall over. As quick as she could, she shot up and dusted herself off. Her face was a bit red with embarrassment from being such a klutz.

((Again, I'm really sorry for the late post... I wasn't aware you posted...))

Five. That's were the number of bandits all huddle around a small opening fire, talking about how they were planning on getting conquering the Bastion Adamantine area. Out of the five that were there only two of them were above an academy or freshly minted genin, and it were they who the other three turned for leadership for. The two that was in charge of this small operation looked across the fire, crackling and roaring majestically, small flecks of embers rising into the sky, disappearing into nothingness. The burliness member couch, clearing his throat, his red mane shaking slightly from such motion, drawing the attention of those in the vicinity “All right boys. The plan is very simple, the guards are incredibly soft and easy to pick off with some distraction of course.” the other men nodded in unison, eyes all glued to their leader. While they might not be the most organized bunch of individuals, nor the most respectful, they did have common sense and knew when to listening – especially when he's speaking.
Daiko, their leader was a man who shouldn't be trifle with. While not being the strongest individuals, but his mean streak, stubbornness and attention to detail made him someone that was respected and fears by others. And it was the main reason why he was put in charge of this operation. “But this isn't the only problem we will be facing. As you know the guards have a tendency of aquiring help from Iwagakure shinobi. And I don't think this case wouldn't be any different. So we should remain alert for any type of moment or suspicious actions. Never know when they might attack.” All the men nodded at this, their hands resting against their respective weapons, eyes darting about looking for anything that might suggest them being under attack.
The sound of something slicing through the air a kunai embedded itself in the dirt, alerting them that they were alone. Standing up Daiko looked towards the direction where the kunai had came from, not taking his eyes from that location the man spoke in a loud, clear voice “My brothers! They dare attacks us, trying to stop our ambitions, we will not let this happen! Take up arms my brothers! Let the sky rain down our enemies blood, let their ground drink the life given essence and let the animal feast on the corpse of those who stand in our way. For our brothers!” Nothing else were needed to be said, as Daiko jumped into the tree where his adversary waited for him, yellow eye piercing rich brown.
The motivation speak was quite nice, a little zealous fanatic like but nevertheless it was nice, but sadly that wouldn't save them from the fate that waited for them, Nanashi mused. His single eye looking at red haired man standing over three meters away from him, it would have been incredibly easy to take them out with stealth but that wouldn't have been fun. Forgoing such a route meant that Alessi would have to fight with an intent to kill, seeing how the bandits will be trying to kill her at any chance they get.
“Hey boys look there's a girl with them. Maybe after boss take out the silver guy he would allow us to have some fun with her? I bet she has a tigh – Gahh!
Whatever that bandit was about to say was cut short with a kunai protruding out of his neck, corpse dropping like a stone, blood seeping into the earth. Following the tractory of the kunai the other members noticed Nanashi's outstretched arm, and it was easy to connect the dots.
Sorry, he threaten my student. His life was forfeit.” Kaiga's snarled at the man's worlds, his eyes radiating hate for the silver haired male but in the inside he was downright fearful – for unknowingly to the others he couldn't keep track of the silver man's movements. Who the fuck did they send this time? Before he could think about the matter for much longer, he had to block a kunai swipe from the man with his sword. Both weapons clashed in a pretty showcase of sparks, Kaiga grunting in an attempt to overpower the silver haired male, but it seem like Nanashi was stronger than what he thought. So instead of brute force, Kaiga allowed the kunai to break his guard, jumping to a nearby branch, above the one he was once standing on. Sheathing his blade and retracting it at blazing speed, a nearly invisible slash sped towards Nanashi who dodged it entirely, jumping to a lower branch, the one that he once stood on cut in half.
Looking in the direction of his student, Nanashi noticed that she was fairing very well against the other two members. Wait two!? Where was the. . . pivoting on his feet Nanashi deflected a kunai jab with his right hand, opening the opponent's guard, thrusting his kunai into the chest of the man, but before he could pull the weapon out he used the dead corpse as a body shield against another chakra slash from his previous opponent and dropping the almost bifurcated corpse to the ground below.
Deciding that he done had enough fun, Nanashi increased his speed to that of special jounin level, blurring from Kaiga's vision – not like it matter much for no sooner had the man disappeared, a cut appeared on the right side of his neck before his entire head lolled off – bloody squirting up like a geyser. With that done, Nanashi jumped down from the tree, propped himself up against a tree and waited for his student to finish with her two all the while looking for anything that could be approved.
Once Alessi was finished with her opponents the pair would return back to Iwagakure, mission completed, and before Alessi returned home Nanashi would tell her to meet him in a week time, having to discuss something important to her. His message would be vague and cryptic, and no answers wouldn't be given till their next meeting.

"Geez that guy talks a lot..." Alessi shook her head slightly as the man rambled on about his plans and what they would do to Nanashi and her. Some of the details being rather gruesome. It made Alessi a little sick just to listen to it. Reaching into her side pouch and pulling out her metal assault gloves, and put them on. Tightening her fist, she examined the bandits and ruffians she would be fighting. Although each and every one of them had a reason to die, she still felt like dispatching of them HER way.

Noticing one of the men begin to take note of her presence, she couldn't help but get red faced with anger. Alessi opened her mouth to give some words of retaliation, but Nanashi quickly disposed of him with a kunai in his throat. Upon seeing his death, Alessi took a deep breath and exhaled heavily. Still not used to seeing death, she shivered slightly before taking a step closer to Nanashi. It seemed that when Nanashi threw the first strike, the bandits started to get riled up.

Alessi found that she only had two opponents. Given that Nanashi had already offed one of them, they would've been equally busy with their fights. The two men she was fighting seemed a little less skilled than her with fist fighting, but more familiar with the use of knives and swords. The man on the left holding a small switchblade, and the man on the right holding a short kanata. Both items were most likely stolen due to their fine condition and lack of wear. Putting both of her fists up, Alessi set herself into a defensive position. Both men came at her at once and swung their blades towards her upper torso. Getting low, Alessi stuck her right leg out and spun to take them of their feet and land them on the ground. Once they were there, she struck both of their wrists, causing them to drop their weapons. With one swift move, her foot caught the blades and kicked them off to the side. It would be much easier to fight them now that they lost their weapons. Both men looked at each other and nodded. Alessi saw this and could only guess what collaborative plan they would put in place.

One bandit strafed left and attempted to get behind Alessi and grab her, while the other rushed forward to distract her. Unfortunately, Alessi fell for the trick. Throwing her fist at the one in front of her, she made direct contact with the man's face and ultimately knocked him out. This didn't stop the man behind her from wrapping his arms around her and trying to squeeze the life out of her. Alessi felt the pressure from his bear-hug and reacted by leaning back. Once she was far enough back, she flung her upper torso forward and loosened the man's grip. Once loose, Alessi brought her hands up and grabbed the man's arms. With one fluid motion, she flipped him over and slammed him into the ground. He was down, but certainly not out. It was only when Alessi followed through with a swift roundhouse kick to the face did she truly finish the two off.

Looking at the two men, she diagnosed that the man who was punched most likely suffered a concussion, and the she kicked with a broken jaw. It might have been the habit of working as a combat medic, but she was surprised to see how far she had come medical wise. Of course, her admiration would have to wait. Turning towards Nanashi, she looked to see that all was taken care of. She tried to keep her eyes on Nanashi and avoid staring at the people he had killed. She only needed a quick glance to know that they were dead and the mission had been a success. Slowly walking towards Nanashi, she attempted a small smile, but ended up with an awkward grin. Her mind was still focused on the dead they left, but there was nothing they could really do to assist them. Even though they were criminals, Alessi still had too much heart to not care.

After leaving the mission area, the two headed back to Iwa. There, Nanashi told her that he would like to see her in a weeks time and that it was for something important they had to discuss. "Great... something to rack my brain on..." With a friendly laugh, she waved goodbye to her Sensei and headed home.
