Spoiler:

Upon his arrival into the wind village Sousetsu grew weary of the heat which soon began to frustrate him in his travels. The scorching sun beamed rays of light that kissed his skin with what felt light sandpaper as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. He walked for what seemed like hours as the sun had seemed to interfere with his perception of time. His sleeves were rolled up past his elbows and his suit of armour was wearing him down, but one could not be more careful during these times. He was in unfamiliar territory and although this was a neutral gathering many times were known as an outbreak of battle in the past. On the surface, he looked calm and steady, pushing through the new landscape with nothing but slight heavy breathing. Before long, Sousetsu had reached a rather large cactus. A purple flower was in bloom almost as if it was greeting the Leaf Jounin for an even warmer welcome.  Sousetsu's reason for being here was to see the Chuunin exams of course, as members of his team from the leaf village were partaking and he wanted to see how well they were doing. No matter what the outcome, Sousetsu would train them become great ninja one day who would make him proud to be their teacher.

After coming to a lazy halt, dragging his feet to the stopping and dust particles beginning to form a small cloud to blow by, Sousetsu sat at the side of the path to take cover in the shade of the cactus. It was cooler than being in the harsh sun after all. He gave his face another wipe with the back of his hand, the feeling of sandpaper seemed to mix with glass as his skin was beginning to form a mild sunburn. He sighed deeply and dropped his head as he brought his legs closer to him to rest. His hands fell back and supported his weight as his head returned with one eye opened to glance at his surroundings once again. There was little to observe. The land was filled with sand and cacti of average height. Small slopes of dunes in the distance and clear skies. He sat up straight and retrieved his canteen of water from his pouch and finished off the remains while taking out a red torn scarf that had been with him most of his ninja life and began wrapping it around his head to keep the sun from creeping on his skin.

He then began cross his legs and meditate, focusing on the natural energy around him with his Senjutsu. He could train in harsher conditions to further his body and adapt to the weather in case of any position he may find himself in the future. It was indeed rather spontaneous to think so but Sousetsu favoured his water style and could use that to cool off. As his eyes closed and his body remained perfectly still further inspection on Sousetsu could be seen. He wore armour emblazoned with the Senju symbol worn over a simple black jumpsuit, with a distinctive white fur collar. This armour was constructed from numerous blue metal plates, formed into multiple protective guards along the wearers body, in particular: chest, waist, shoulders and upper arms. A blade could also be seen laying diagonally across his lower back. The blade stood at three feet and three inches long, black customized handle with silver linings the outer blade. It was of course his high frequency blade, a prototype and a great asset to Sousetsu in his Kenjutsu.

Sousetsu reached into his pouch which lay across his lower back and withdrew a canteen of water and began to drink from it. The cool water ran smoothly down the Leaf ninja's throat quenching his thirst and removed the dryness that was caused by dehydration. As his lips came off little drops of water had escaped his grasp and landed on the warm sand below him, darkening the patch it occupied and leaving a moisture in the earth that caused the sand to stick together. Sousetsu watched as the chemistry between the water and sand was happening before his very eyes. An idea came into his mind. A technique known as 'Water Release: Starch Syrup Capturing Field' was at the peek of his memory. A technique would surely come in handy for future purposes. He could change the terrain and help turn for his favour if need be. Water Release: Starch Syrup Capturing Field consisted of the user spitting out high-viscosity, chakra infused water, aimed at a surface of wide scope. This is a stream of sticky liquid which can be used to form an adhesive trap that can inhibit a person's mobility, slowing them before immobilizing them if they remain in the substance. One can effectively reduce their enemy's area of activity with this technique, and has the effect of being able to take control over the battlefield. Being caught in the technique can be avoided by channelling chakra to one's feet allowing one to walk upon it uninhibited, beforehand.

Sousetsu smirked before he began mustering up the high density of chakra within him and the water was already ready to fuse with it. With a few hand seals, Sousetsu began to spit out the high density chakra with water and had filled quite a large area. He did not know if it worked but the sun did make it gleam with a syrup-like substance. A fly had passed by and landed in the technique, walking on it before gradually becoming stuck to the thick water and becoming immobilized. Its wing fluttered frantically but it was of no use. Sousetsu knelt down beside his jutsu and placed one finger on the syrup substance. It was rather gooey and was quite adhesive to his liking. It was a success. Sousetsu was surely showing the skills he had to offer but no-one was around to see that. It was a private achievement and a new technique to add to his arsenal.
