One's friends are that part of the human race with which one can be human.  ~George Santayana

If there is one thing wonderful about living in Iwagakure or Tsuchi no Kuni in general, is the numerous of natural breath taking places that are either known gems or undiscovered diamonds. Though it isn't exactly confirmed Tsuchi no Kuni holds more sights that are either are Natural wonders or have been considered so then any other place in the Elemental Nations – an amazing feat if one may say so. With all these majestic places spread throughout the countryside, one will think everyone would have at least seen some of the places – prime example being Sightseeing Cliff. While not a Natural wonder, the past decade or so have seen many people voting for it to be one. Finding it's simplistic to be breathtaking and awe-striking.

It is this place where we find Nanashi, simply standing on the edge of the cliff, those citrine orbs looking over the majority of the village, watching as everyone continued with their day without a care in the world. With the weather being very pleasant outside, the sun not being overbearingly hot nor the wind being wild; Nanashi had decided to visit Sightseeing Cliff. Having visiting in quite a few times in the past and find himself to enjoy the openness of it and the overall feel that it eludes. I wonder did she get my message? He idly wonder about Yanagi Akio, the girl who he had met over a week ago. Since the week has passed his mind had been littered with thoughts of her, him having founded himself immensely curious about the person that's Yanagi Akio. It was that reason that a day ago, he had mailed her an invitation for a small picnic with him, taking that she could bring a friend if she wanted. Yes, despite him wanting it just to be between them, he knew it would be wise for extend the invitation to any potential friend she has, for that way she have someone she is more comfortable with around her doing the picnic – though it did make Nanashi potentially meeting someone else to easier.

Stemming set of dumplings, rice balls, and dango were neatly packed within the rather large picnic basket that sat on a large spread sheet of sorts – the exact sheet being a gift from one of his sisters, that had golden intricate patterns woven within it. Having never used the sheet for anything besides decoration, Nanashi didn't see the reason for not using it this occasion.

So one might ask what Nanashi was wearing for this occasion?

Having had the urge to dress up slightly, Nanashi wore a pair of black slacks, a white short sleeve silk shirt – unbutton allowing his chest to be on display and a pair of comfortable shoes the same color as his slacks. Around his neck was a gold encrusted necklace that looks like a choker but hung slightly looser then one. Needless to say, Nanashi overall look rather handsome. The only thing missing now was Akio to show and maybe her friend as well.

“If she shows at all. . .”

Akio looked out her bedroom window admiring the weather that Iwa was offering. She was happy to have another day off from missions sometimes it was tiring being a shinobi. Now all she needed to do was figure out what to do. Her father and sister were down stairs enjoying the breakfast she had cooked as usual so that left her with at least an hour to herself.

She used the spare time to get dressed and cleaned up so that she would be ready if she wanted to leave the house later which she highly doubted. Most likely she'll be inside her room reading a book or cleaning the house. At this time she couldn't help but think about Nana-chan she hadn't seen him in a week and she was starting to miss him. She didn't know where he stayed in the village and had no way to contact him. Akio had no choice but to wait on him to come reach out to her. Till then she was going to have to stop thinking about him and start focusing on something else. Akio! her sister called up the stairs. Coming well there goes the her free time she thought. When Akio was down the stairs her sister was standing in the kitchen with a letter in her hand.

The younger girl could barely keep a grin from splitting her face.
I think it's a letter from that new ninja you were with last week. That took Akio by surprised she didn't think anyone saw her with Nanashi. I heard you two talking last week. Did dad know I was out with company? No he fell asleep early that night so don't worry. That was good she didn't want Her father and Nanashi to meet yet.
Thanks Atsuko for the help. She ran up the stairs and opened the letter. Nana had asked her on a picnic she was also allowed to bring a friend. Damn she wanted to bring Saiyuki but she was already late and she needed to change. Astuko she called down to her sister. Yes she answered back. Could you do me a favor and give this letter to Saiyuki while I get dressed. Sure she quickly answered. Her sister loved Yuki and she knew she wouldn't mind. Now she had to go get ready she had the prefect dress to wear.

"C'mon!" The woman shouted to her clock when it had displayed '6:47'. Saiyuki never liked being up so early. The alarm clock its eye blinding red flashes that formed number of the time had woken her up. Saiyuki missed her mother and father in times like these. When she was still living with them, her father would wake her up around 9 a.m. While father did that her mother was already baking delicious things that had the smell of a thousand different foods. And then you had her little brother... She really missed him. From Sai's apartment, she would already be to late to save him from the danger. Why did she had to move out? Her thoughts wandered away and she fell asleep once more.

Not longer after she had heard someone knocking on the door. Her eyes fluttered open and went to open the door. Her hand reached the doorknob and her blue colored eye looked through the little hole. Ski had recognized the familiar face of Akin her sister. Gladly Saiyuki opened the door, letting the sunlight in her small apartment. Her eyes took a while to get used to the sun its warming and welcoming yellow shine. "Who do we have here? Akio her sister." Saiyuki went back into the room as she spoke to her friend family member as a gesture to come in. The Yanagi member gladly accepted the invitation and walked in the room explaining why she was there. "Akio, is meeting with a friend and she asked if you would come along?" The Kobayashi's face got a happier look knowing Akio didn't forget her. Saiyuki turned around with a quick move. The grin on her face made it clear she wanted to go. "So, where is this meeting then?" Saiyuki asked curiously when she jumped on the couch. "At the Sightseeing Cliff." the girl responded with a smile. Saiyuki then jumped up and nodded, saying she will be there in a quarter or two. The sister of Saiyuki her friend then left the quite dirty apartment of Saiyuki. The red head went upstairs to get dressed in loose and comfortable clothing. She wore a football shirt a size to big, she likes things loose. The pants she was wearing were dark brown and very skinny to show her figure and the shirt she wore was white and hanging very casual over her long pants. She picked her brown worker shoes to fit with the look. Her style was really casual and special. Saiyuki would always wear things people wouldn't even think of. She was a outsider in fashion but she didn't care.

She led herself toward the bathroom to brush her teeth and pull her hair in a loose knot. Her legs brought her back to the door and opened it. Sai walked out with the sun blinding her eyes again. "Up to Sightseeing Cliff then!" She shouted in the streets. She went directly to the mountain since it was very close to her. She would walk very calm through the streets of Iwa, like a butterfly floating around while getting to its destination.

Sai got to the cliff and saw a male standing on the edge, next to a picnic. Would this be the one who asked Akio to come here? Well since he might be that person, Sai stayed out of his sight to wait for her buddy, Akio.

Ten minutes, that's how long Nanashi had been waiting for Akio and her friend to show up at Sightseeing Cliff. And yet she still haven't shown. Then again others could have come up unexpectedly or not between the time he had sent the letter and now, seeing how she didn't know where he lived – something he neglected to tell her, he couldn't fault her for not making it. On the other need though, she could have just received the letter late and was now only getting dressed. And seeing how some women and men takes an hour or two to get dress, she could just be running late. Another thing he can't fault her or any woman for, if they take that long to get dress then they really want to make an impression on whoever they are meeting . Said notion of Akio dressing up that amazing body of her bringing a smile across his face, that vanished as soon as it appeared. How odd would it be for someone to come walking by and seeing him staring off the distance, simply smiling? Creepy.

Moving away from the edge of the cliff, Nanashi turned and strolled his way towards a smaller picnic basket that were hidden from others views – expected his anyway. A small barely noticed smile appeared on his face as he peered at the contents in the other basket, it's aromas tickling his nostrils, teasing him, tempting him, to take a sip. But no, he will not, such things can wait for when the others to arrive when he serves it to them and with a slight hesitation he closed it back up.

Standing back up, Nanashi simply nodded at the red headed female who he had just spotted, standing further away from the location of the picnic. He didn't know who this female was. Nor if she could be the friend of Akio. And if that was the case why didn't she show up with Akio-chan? Seeing how she didn't introduce herself or anything, just lingering in the background. Nanashi simply shrugged and turned back around looking over the village once more. If she was Akio-chan friend she could be waiting for her to show up like he was. Either way she didn't bothered him, so with that he continued doing what he been doing.

Waiting.

Akio ran to the sight-seeing cliff knowing she was late. She had tried her best to get dressed faster but it was harder to so with so very little time. Doing things at the last minute wasn't something she was used to she prefered to be prepared and hated when something unexpected happened like this for example. Finally Akio could stop to catch her breath when she saw him at the edge of the cliff waiting for her and Saiyuki. Making sure she looked nice she straightened out the simple light pink sundress and she picked out and ran her fingers through her hair before she walked up to him.

Nana-chan she said while greeting him. She ran up to him giving him a tight hug before letting go. She stared up at him happily completely dazed by his handsome appearance that she didn't notice Saiyuki hiding further down. When nana-chan question her on her decision to bring a friend she told him not to worry and that Saiyuki would be here soon. Akio hoped that the girl had received the letter since they hadn't seen each other since she became a chunnin. Honestly she was also really happy to have someone else around so that he wouldn't tease her so much.

Not that she didn't enjoy it she justed wanted to get to know Nana-chan a little more. Now if only Yuki-chan would hurry up.

Saiyuki saw her buddy Akio walking up the cliff, going straight toward the grey haired male, walking past Sai. It looked like she didn't even notice her being there. "Wow, she must have something or someone on her mind." Sai said to herself grinning even if she was ignored. The Kobayashi member would put her hands in her vintage jacket and walk onward to the two. She took in the beauty of the village. The sun its light made the water down in the city look shiny and smooth. A small breeze made the grass wave down her ankles. The little drops of water on the grass made her pants stick against her legs. Her shoes were wet with the liquid. A few loose strings of her hair were floating when another breeze came by. She had closed her eyes to memorize the nice scent of the rose paddles dancing in the air. The relaxation was at its maximum, no stress could be found on the cliff.

The sun was at his highest and it was doing its best to get people burned. Steam came from the water on the grass, creating a blurry part above the water. Saiyuki her leg brushed against some tall roses, making her upper leg a little moist. While walking past the rose plant, she had pulled off a few rose paddles. She raised her hand and let them fly around freely. The paddles were now floating onward to their next destination. The eyes of the girl followed them flying away with the stream of wind.

Saiyuki her feet stopped when she stood next to the pair. Checking if this guy was good or bad, she got engulfed by the sight of the city in all its glory. Saiyuki inhaled air until her lungs were full of it, then she let out a relaxing sigh. The scent of the paddles were still roaming around in her nostrils, taking the smell in. The ginger loved smells, it created some sort of relaxation for her. Saiyuki looked over to the male but then returned her gaze upon the sight of the village. "I'm Saiyuki from the Kobayashi clan. Nice to meet you." The girl said with closed eyes and her chin up, having a relaxed expression attached to her face. "This is pure beauty. Seeing my hometown with the sun its light shining so proudly, that is."

Having turned around at the sound of someone running, Nanashi couldn't help but to chuckle at Akio trying to catch her breath, as if she had just ran the whole way here. ”Then again she probably have.” He thought taking noticed of the slight dishevel of her pink sundress, and her hair. Both which in approves of greatly. Who would have thought such a simple dress could look so good on someone? Nanashi shouldn't didn't. Closing the distancing between the two, Nanashi returns the hug , taken in the wonderful scent of her hair and brushing his lips across her cheek in a small kiss “Akio-chan, glad you can make it.”

Reluctantly letting go of her, Nanashi took a step back to admire the beauty that was Akio. Though unlike their first encounter his eyes didn't wander over her body, that could be because he knew someone else was there and couldn't be seen as a pervert. Give the man some credit, he knew how to make first impression counts. And were planning on being on his best behavior

“See something you like, Akio-chan?” He before making it completely obvious that his shirt was unbutton, though that quickly changed as he button up the short sleeve short, only partially though allowing his chest to still be on display for Akio-chan pleasure of course! While he won't tease her much verbal, there are other ways to tease someone – and it would be these ways that Nanashi will get the joy of flustering Akio-chan. All in good nature, of course!

Nanashi, simply nodded when Akio told him that her friend would be showing up soon. He idly wonder if the girl that was in the background was her friend, and he was proven correct when said figure made their way towards the two. “Nice to meet you Saiyuki.” He said smiling, as his brain racked through his less then stellar knowledge about the Koboyashi clan, though he was more curious about the Koboyashi name since it sound familiar to him but can't remember why. “I'm Guanyin Nanashi, and I take it you are friend of Akio?” He asked, before looking between to two, though considerably closer to Akio.

“The beauty of the place is one reason why I chose it for this picnic. When I came to Iwagakure it was one of the few places I visited a lot. Plus I don't live that far away from here.” The last statement was said in a whisper but both would surely here him. Maybe after this he will show Akio-chan where he lived at, but for now that can wait for now it was time to be on his best behavior.

“Well ladies, if you are ready we can start this little picnic and get to know each other better.” He said, moving away from the two and started unpacking the food that was in the picnic basket and setting it out on the spreed sheet. The mouth watering aromas of the dumplings, rices ball and dango filling the air. He also unpacked the other basket that had a Tea within it.

“Do forgive me if this isn't from a restaurant for I prefer to cook my own food. And since cooking was one of the many things my mother drilled into my head constantly.” He said having finished setting everything out and was now waiting for Akio-chan and Saiyuki to come over. It seemed like Nanashi was being good for once.

”Oh, Akio-chan you look amazing.”

Maybe not. . .

Akio was happy to see her friend and quickly gave her hug. She felt bad for not seeing the girl when she was in plain view but seeing Nana-chan's chest was very...distracting. Yet the girl was happy to have her two friends together. So far things were going smoothly not to mention that Nanashi was behaving himself. Well mostly he was behaving himself. He still threw in comments that were causing her face to heat up. It made her happy when he stopped and offered them the spread of food waiting for them.

It looked and smelled delicious begging her to enjoy it. It impressed her to know that Nanashi cooked it. Still akio couldn't help but notice how different they were from each other making it nice to know they both liked to cook. Maybe when she introduced Nana-chan to her dad she would mention that. Hold on did she think that. Changing her mind from that she started to focus on Saiyuki. The girl had changed seen she had last saw her no more white hair for her other than so far she was still the same old Yuki-chan.

All Saiyuki her attention went to the view. She hadn't even noticed them already sitting on the picnic blanket. Sai placed her hands just above her thighs and opened her eyes to look at her companions. She was shocked to see them not next to her anymore, but then she realized the male said that he had a picnic with him. The smell of all the goods hugged Sai her nose, making it almost impossible not to turn around and start munching on the deliciousness of the homemade food. Well, this time Saiyuki made an exception, so she wouldn't embarrass herself in front of Akio and, by the looks of it, her future husband maybe. Akio couldn't keep her eyes of the male companion. Saiyuki turned around with a swirl and ran towards the pair.

Saiyuki sat in front of the pair, who sat next to each other. The different colored lenses of Sai wandered from Akio to Nanashi, over and over again. Looking how Nanashi made Akio her face redder my the second. At first Sai thought this was quite funny, but it began to bore after a while. Her mind then started to wander off. A Guanyin, huh? Wasn't father a Guanyin too? Maybe we are very far related, I wonder...

Sai looked around to see a paddle of a rose coming her way. The red head quickly grabbed it between two fingers. She admired roses, they were so fragile but still they can hurt with their thorns. Saiyuki lost interest in the boy, the girl and the food. Her passion for roses got her full attention. The lay the rose down and turned her body to grab her bag that was still on her back. She would take out a pencil and a sketchbook to draw the fragile rose paddle.

Sometimes she looked up to see how they were doing. The two of them were still doing the same think over and over again, making each other awkward and pink in each others faces. Saiyuki kinda felt like the third wheel since they already knew each other pretty good. Sai scratched the back of her head and looked around awkwardly. "So how long do you know each other?" Sai asked to be back in the conversation. This was really awkward and she actually had no idea why she was invited.

Ugh, sometimes being a Geisha did have it's downsides, one of them being that everything one does, is did was such care that it seems like they had been practicing for they very moment. Case in point when Nanashi took out the expensive silver ceremonial tea cups and started filling them up with green tea – taken care not to spill not a single drop of it. After filling the cups, he popped one of the dangos in his mouth, savoring it's flavor while he idly watching the two females. Well one of them anyway, seeing how the other . . . Saiyuki was off in her own little world.

“So, Akio-chan. What have you been up to?” He asked, his eyebrow raising slightly as he noticed how Saiyuki wiping out what look like a stretch book and started to draw in it.

“You draw, Saiyuki?” A simple question that meant to try and engaged the other female into the conversation – seeing how she seemed slightly uncomfortable around the two. Understandable of course seeing how, from an outsider point of view Nanashi and Akio look like a couple on a Saiyuki – which isn't true yet. Nanashi didn't bother in asking Saiyuki, why early she had looked at him as if she knew him from somewhere. Nope, none of his concern at the moment.

Lost in thought he almost didn't catch the question Saiyuki threw at him.

“Me and Akio-chan have known each other for a little bit over a week. The circumstances that surrounds our meeting was quite funny and something neither of us will forget. Isn't that right, Akio-chan.” The latter said in teasing manner. He should really stop teasing the female, for it look like her head was about to explode. He couldn't help it though, for it was extremely fun in doing so.

“What about you and Akio-chan. How long you have known each other?”

When asked how they knew each other she started to feel bad. She was spending all her time with Nanashi while completely ignoring Saiyuki.
Me and Saiyuki are close we've known each other for a few weeks now. We met while on a sparring mission assigned to us by the kage. It was really fun and ever since then we like to spend time together. She tried her best to get the girl into the conversation but she was happy drawing in her notebook. Thats when she had an idea. Nanashi I'm sorry but this food is delicious but there is a little stand down the cliff that I would like to buy some sauce for this meal that will really spice it up. The two people looked at Akio as if she had lost her mind. They didn't understand how important them becoming friends were to her. I'll be right back I promise she gave Nana a quick kiss on the check and saiyuki and hug leaving the two alone. She hoped her plan worked.

Akio gave Sai a hug when she leaving. The red head didn't see the hug coming and was caught off guard. As Akio left for her sauce the atmosphere got a little weird between the two human beings. "You asked what I draw, right?" asked Saiyuki looking up from her sketchbook to the golden colored lenses of the boy in front of her. Sai took a sip from the tea and went on speaking. "I drew this rose paddle." She pointed toward the paddle that lay on the basket, resting until the wind picked her up again and made it fly away. She admired the passionate moves of the little piece of the rose dancing with the wind.

Sai took a dumping and placed it between her pinkish lips. She enjoyed the taste of the food. While she was eating she took a deep breath with her nose, taking in all the different smells. "It really smells great, Nanashi!" the ginger grinned with her closed eyes toward the Guanyin, nomming on another homemade dumpling. "Dumplings are my favorite! You made them perfectly like mom makes them..." She wouldn't be tasting much from mom her cooking now she moved out. Her face got a sad expression when thinking of it. Her eyes wandered down on the golden blanket, playing with it with her hands.

"So, what are you planning to do with Akio?" Saiyuki suddenly asked in a very serious way as if she was worried for her friend. If he would hurt her one bit, Sai would follow his every move until he goes crazy. She really doesn't want the little girl to get hurt and now that she couldn't protect her little blind brother she protected the youngest person she knew. That was Akio. "I swear, If you hurt her..." Saiyuki frowned still looking down on the blanket. "If you hurt her... I will hunt you down." When saying that the eyes of the girl looked up to the boy's pair of eyes, not breaking the lock. Sai was really serious about this topic.

The girl closed her eyes once again to take another dumpling. "Well, if you can prove you are good for her. I will thrust you." She said with her usual girl back on her face.

Nanashi simply nodded at Akio-chan's words and returned the kiss, as he watch her figure disappear from the Sightseeing Cliff, heading to get some sauce for their current meal. It were obvious to anyone who might be watching the three, that Akio were only leaving in an attempt to get him and Saiyuki to actually talk and get to know each other. Seeing how the words spoken between the pair were barely minimal at best. Heck he had spent the majority of the time teasing poor Akio-chan and hardly paid attention to the other person within this little get together. In short Nanashi had been a bad host, something that will be retrofiring now.

Looking at Saiyuki who had asked him a question, he nodded at the question and looked towards the rose petal that were laying on the basket, till the wind picked up and fluttered away. “Wow, you have a talent there. ” He stated looking at the picture she drawn and were truly impressed by it. While drawing might not be considered a ninja art, it does play a large role, for being able to draw the image of an individual can be the key to a success or failure. Nanashi himself could draw, but most of those were human based.

“How long have you been drawing?” Nanashi popped another dumpling in his mouth, savoring it's taste before he thanked Saiyuki for the compliment pertaining to the food.

“Glad you like the dumplings. They also one of my favorite foods. “ He said, not making a comment about how her facial expression change to that of sadness when she mentioned her mom. While there are some benefits of living on one's own, one does miss the comforts of home. And it seem like that what Saiyuki is experiencing now.

“Nothing at all. We are simply friends that are growing more custom to each other by the passing minute. If she wants to pursue a relationship with me, then I have no squalls with it. For the feelings are mutal.” He still keeping a cheery persona, despite how seriously Saiyuki had become.

“You are her friend correct?” He said seeing her nodded at the question. “Then I expect nothing less from you.” The way that Nanashi simply brush off the threat with a scary easy, gave the impression that he had being down this road before and could care less for the consequences.

“So you don't trust me then? I happen to trust you slightly, seeing how you are Akio-chan's friend. But nevertheless. Did you know it was I that asked her to bring a friend to this little picnic. So that she wouldn't be stuck here with me . . . by herself? Though she probably wouldn't mind spending time with me alone, I wanted to get to know others in her friend circle.” He stated, taking a sip of his tea with grace that shouldn't even be possible for a male nonetheless.

During the entire conversation, Nanashi's mind was going over something that Saiyuki had mentioned upon first meeting. Her surname Koyabashi had been bugging him for the longest time, despite himself begin able to hold a conversation with the pair. And it were just now that he remembered where he heard that name from. . . his mother. Who told him the name of his . . .

“On to other topics, I couldn't help but to ask. You are a Koyabashi correct? Would you happen to know a Koyabashi, Shin?” He asked, wondering if the man who apparently is his father is still amongst the living. Seeing how apparently he had the facial structure of said man, just slightly more feminine.

Unknown by the two, Nanashi simple question and the revelations to follow will change their lives. For good or the worse.

Unknown to the two people enjoying their meal a little Yanagi girl was calmly watching the two from a nearby tree. They seemed to be talking to each other more with her "gone". This pleased her for all she wanted was for her two friends to become close. She giggled a little when she heard how Yuki-chan threatened Nanashi the girl was sometimes overprotective of her just like she was with her younger brother. This made her smile in joy since she was the same with Sai and her family.
She was planning on staying in this tree for a while since she had already had her full of the meal. While she was here she might as well enjoy the beautiful view of all of Iwa. She must admit that it was very nice from up here in this tree. The city seemed less like a dusty village and more like a sea of vibrant reds and browns. People of all different types wandered through it's streets and it was nice to see that she played a small role in protecting them.

Saiyuki looked up when she heard the name Kobayashi. The golden eyed boy said his father was one of that clan. A little bell rang in Saiyuki her head. His father... A Kobayashi? Sai grinned she her fantasy went that far that they may be related. That of course would be ridiculous, right? Her mind just couldn't get it right. Maybe they were indeed family, but they didn't look much alike, she thought at least. They had both grey hair but Sai dyed it red. Their facial expressions were a bit different. One thing she did notice was how much he looked like her father, Shin. Wait a second... Didn't he say the name Shin as well... But how could he be a Guanyin then? How could he be a Guanyin if Sai her mother was a Kobayashi? Well, her father was a Jounin but he was still a man who could never say no to a woman. Saiyuki thought that maybe just maybe her father had cheated on her mother. No, father would never do such thing! The girl was still doubting if it wasn't true. While still having her shocked expression glued to her face she tried to answer to the Guanyin. "My f-father is a Kobayashi and h-his name is Shin... But he would never cheat on my mother!! No, he would let that happen!" Sai jumped up cause of her rage, while yelling at the boy. There could be doubt sensed in her voice even if she tried her best to not give in that her father was a liar.

Saiyuki calmed a bit down when she convinced herself that Shin would never do such horrible thing to his family. The thought of it did leave a scar in Sai her mind. Her fingers united in a clenched fist ready to punch if Nanashi said anything wrong about anyone of her family. With tears in her eyes she was still denying the fact that her father did betray his family. How could he dare to look Unohana, Sai her mother, in the eyes and tell he loves her... Saiyuki was confused at the thought. Calm down, I am just thinking to deep. Shin is a very comman name.

Denial, is a common emotion for the human race when faced with something so ridiculous that it couldn't possibly be true. Even when the facts are laid in front of them, the emotion stills hold a strong grip over mankind. Though this grip is considerably weaken when more facts are place in front of another, along with miniscule and important facts, that at another given time wouldn't have been important. It's only then that moment, that doubt is able to weasel it's way within into their conscious. Like a seed, if given enough nutrients, doubt can take a firmer hold within one's conscious, making them question everything they ever knew about an individual. And given enough time doubt can lead one to the startling realization that what once might seemed as a ridiculous notion, is actually very true.

It was emotions and feelings that Nanashi presumed Saiyuki is currently going through. Her visual features changing from curious, denial, doubt, shock and finally frustration. All the while Nanashi sipped on the tea nonchalantly, savoring the liquid unique taste, appearing completely oblivious to Saiyuki roaring emotion. He didn't bother to act when the woman in front of him jumped up from her seated position and proclaim, rather loudly, that her father's name was indeed Koyabashi Shin and he would never cheat on his wife – her mother. To bad for her, no matter how loudly she tried to raise her voice, how much she try to deny the fact, Koyabashi Shin potential cover have cheated on her mother. Besides there are certain things that a ninja must do, that will never been known to general public. Prime example, seduction for information. Even if seduction wasn't apart of a shinobis' lifestyle, the doubt that was in Saiyuki's voice made her believe that her father was in the immortal words of the Temptations 'A rolling stone, wherever he laid his hat he called it home.' – in layman terms, a gigolo .

“Who said your father had a choice? Seduction is apart of the ninja's lifestyle, no? Sometime simply sleeping with an individual is the only way to get information. For a man or woman will tell you anything, if you can pleasure them right. Now I could be wrong. Your father could have turned down such a mission, seeing how you are adamant about him being faithful. But has he ever been the type to turn down a mission? To provide the needed income to support his family?” After saying his peace, Nanashi finished the rest of the tea, before beginning the process of packing up the cups – emptying them first.

He didn't pay no heed to her balled up fist, nor the tears that were flowing down her cheek – nope none of it effected him. Ugh, he can be a real bastard at times.

“I am seventeen years old and probably a year or two older then you. My birthday is April 15th. Can you honestly look me in the eye and tell me that, your father couldn't have cheated on your mom during that time? Or that my facial structure isn't eerie similar to his own, just more feminine? Are you just going to keep denying that there's a slim chance, that the person you just threaten and about to punch in the face is actually family?” His stated, popping a rice ball into his mouth, having neglected to eat one till now. It was a dangerous game that Nanashi was playing and he is loving every minute of it. Though that couldn't be seen on his face, of course.

Akio was already running back those her friends at full speed. She could hear Yuki-chan crying and screaming and yelling at Nanashi. Yet he calmly spoke to her ignoring her crying. she could barely hear their conversation. She would have to ask Nanashi after she scolded him for hurting Saiyuki's feelings. She grabbed a roll and shoved into his mouth shutting him up and then gave him her worst glare. Akio liked Nana-kun but how could he hurt her friend. She held Saiyuki trying her best to calm her down. Don't worry yuki-chan I'll be okay Nana didn't mean to be a jerk. Then akio gave the boy another glare to help. What was she going to do Sai was crying even harder and Nana looked pissed off. Not how she imagined this day going. It would have made her feel better if she was at home reading.

Saiyuki was breathing the fresh air of of the cliff in and out in a high pace. Nanashi just had pushed it to far. Family was a big deal to Sai. She would kill herself just to try to protect them, but this kid. Sai wouldn't even want his as family. The way he talked about her father was just heartbreaking. Sai was boiling from the inside and soon she would let all the anger out.

As soon as Akio came running to comfort her friend the anger calmed down. Sai her clenched fists became back to their normal state hanging next to the motionless Saiyuki. How could he talk about his own father like that? Nanashi began to give reasons why her father wouldcdo such thing and that they looked so much like him. As Nanashi was near the end of his reasoning, Sai gave him a punch in the face. "Shut up..." Those eyes of Sai could kill someone. The look felt like a knife pushing though the flesh of a person.

Sai her head hang loose, looking downward to the drawing that lay there. "Now I see father never mentioned you..." The red head had an creepy grin glued to her face and she looked straight at Nanashi, not breaking the lock their eyes were in. "He wasn't proud of having you. He didn't want you, brother." She spit out the word 'brother' as if it was the worst in the whole world. The girl her hands pushed Akio loose to say she was okay. The emotionless expression did say the opposite, though.

Sai took inhaled air to full her lungs and let it out again at a relaxing pace. She went back to sit on the golden blanket and casually placed the cup of tea to her lips. Her fingers pushed the end of the cup up to let the warm and welcoming liquid In her mouth. Saiyuki brought it back down and went to sit with her legs crossed. Her eyes were still lock onto Nanashi's. Those eyes of her could be used as daggers, her gaze could kill someone.

Even though Nanashi saw the punch coming and could possibly dodge it, abrupt barely, he chose not to. Instead taking it square on the cheek, his head snapping to the left, a metallic tastes filling his mouth though only temporary before it exit his mouth in a crimson liquid. Nanashi was quite use to the taste of blood, hell even extreme punishment, his mother were truly a sadistic, though he also those tendencies, but not extreme as her though. Shaking those thoughts away from the moment, he paid no heed towards Akio who he had noticed didn't bring back any sauce. Well isn't she a pretty little liar.

“Welcome back Akio-chan. Where's that sauce you were going to get?”

Turning his attention back to the still furious Saiyuki, not battling an eyelash as she tried to kill him by glaring. Did she really thing that her, weak glare would affect him any? He had seen worse before coming a shinobi, especially those few times when he accidentally stepped into the women side of the hot springs. Even the creepy grin didn't do nothing to phrase him. Saiyuki probably had a better chance of getting the wall to cringe, seeing how Nanashi, technically is emotionless and doesn't feel nothing. For the most part ever emotion he shows is nothing more then a facade to mend in with society. Though such knowledge about his mental state is a closely guard secret with only a hand few, none being in Iwagakure, knowing about it. And it's only these people that know, Nanashi does have a soft spot and cares deeply from a selected few. And when someone threaten those he holds precious, not even lucifer would be able to save them.

“Your father didn't know about me. Hell, he probably doesn't even know he has another son. Seeing how he left the next day after getting the information, he needed from my mother. Not once did he return nor write, which probably is the best. He had a 'happy' life at home and she had a 'happy' life as well. So it were a win – win for both. Just two people getting together to fulfilled a cardinal need for flesh, a beautiful and disgusting thing at times. “ He said munching on another rice ball. What they didn't know was Nanashi's mother were actually the killer that Kobayashi, Shin was searching for. Heh, kind of funny a respected Jounin slept with the killer that he were sent to assassinate. Speaking of assassination, Nanashi need to find the bastard who order the hit, but that can wait for now.

“You know, you could have denied all of this but alas you let your anger control you, where in fact you should control anger. Anger is nothing but a wild beast that needs to be tame. For only when it's tame can it be use to it's fullest potential. Instead of getting mad at me for bringing up what could possibly be the truth or not, you should have reign it in and act like a civilized person, and confront your father about such an accusation when you got the chance. Alas, you didn't and we can't change that can we?” Cruel, that could be one word some may say called Nanashi, but what he was doing right now, he called it testing. Like a chief tastes their soup before serving it to the public, Nanashi was testing the boundaries of Saiyuki patient, while also getting a bead on her personality. Only than will he do the right thing and help his lovely sister out. If she let him of course.

“Saiyuki, you might not want to here this after all that have been said, but if it's true that we are siblings. Then I hope after we get over this little hiccup, we can be friends and family. Though I doubt it's something you want, seeing how you spitted that title out like it was poison or something. “ He said, his eyes showing acceptance of any decision. Though mentally Nanashi was planning on visiting, dear old dad, once he finds the needed information in the library archives.

Was this really happening right now? Shock couldn't even describe the way she was feeling at the moment. There were so many things running through her mind and yet the two people in front of her didn't seem to be affected by it. At least thats how they were acting. She sat down and decided to play along too. Did this mean that Yuki-chan was related to Nana-kun and if so how was that possible. Nanashi did tell her he had never meant his father. Plus Saiyuki's father was a ninja like them. Which meant that if Nana was right he could have sleep with Nanashi's mother while out on a mission. Yeah she really wished she had stayed at home. This day was becoming more and more confusing and stressful. The young girl got up and announced her leaving. I'm leaving it's getting late and really it seems as if you two have some stuff to work out. Neither of the two paid her any mind as she left them at the cliff. Akio loved them too much to pick sides honestly this wasn't her business it was something they had to work out themselves. The only thing she could do was be there for them when they needed her.

Sai turned around as she saw Akio leaving in the distance. It was already too late to shout at her to come back. 'Akio... Sorry that I made such a fuzz... ' Sai said in her mind. The red head returned around toward Nanashi. Her forefinger pointed to the male almost touching his face. Saiyuki showed her teeth like a dog would do and opened her mouth. "It's all your fault you idiot! Why did you had to make a fight, huh!" Sai shouted as if he was the reason why Akio left. "Shouldn't you comfort your lady when she feels bad, ay! You are as useless as a dead object. Why did you had to bring it up anyway! This whole thing was fun until you had to ask the so important question. Now go apologi-" Suddenly Sai didn't finish her sentence and a pleasant grin appeared on her face. "Hehe... Haha. Haha!" Tears rolled down her cheek once more but this time it were tears of pleasure. After Nanashi ate a dumpling a bit of food sticked to his face. This was apparently really funny to Sai and it kinda broke the tense atmosphere in the air. "You have crumbs on your face! You look so stupid!" The girl almost fell over cause of laughing too hard. She lowered her body to the ground and lay on her back. Hands on her tummy, bent knees and laughing sounds came out of her vocal chords. Grass got rolled flat when she was going from left to right. Breathing short breaths between the laughing didn't do her belly good. "Sorry, I just cannot take you seriously with that on you serious face!" The laughing didn't stop and virteous was dripping from her cheeks onto the ground.

When her laughing and grinning began to slow down she took a deep breath while wiping off the trace the tears left behind. "Ahhh... That was funny..." The girl still had a grin upon her face. The girl pushed herself up using her biceps. Her arm stretched out to grab another dumpling and noticed Nanashi ate the last one. Sai looked up with the creepy look in her eyes. "You ate the last dumpling... You... You monster!" While she said those words she stood up jumping on top of Nana, shaking his head with the collar of his shirt. "You ate the last dumpling!!" Sai shouted in his face. It looked like she totally forgot the conversation they had before about their father. "Gimme back the dumpling!" She yelled while shaking the person's head up and down.

“I will try to visit you later, Akio-chan if time permits.” He said before the female could leave. Nanashi understood perfectly why she was leaving, the picnic had been ruin, partially was his fault. Who knew people can get so touchy about family? At least he wasn't the one who resorted into physically hurting someone, like his dear ole sister did. Almost morbidly Nanashi thought how her angry could end up getting her killed on the field. And the thought of her dying didn't phrase him at all. Why would he care? Not like he wanted to be apart of her family, if all of them acted like her. He just wanted to know if Koyabashi, Shin was still amongst the living and wanted to talk to said man. Alas, maybe he will be more civilized then his daughter.

Shaking those thought away the stoic expression of Nanashi did not change when the girl in front of him pointed her finger, deadly closed to his face. Now Nanashi prized himself in keeping his composure in all circumstances but when someone invades his personal space things can get dicey. The last person who did that ended up with being beaten to death, then again they did some other things to warrant such a gruesome killing. Though that when he was just getting acquainted with those tendencies at the tender age of six. Luckily or unluckily for Saiyuki, Nanashi has more control over such tendencies and instead of acting on them right then, will plan to repay the favor later. Something what he was thinking about at the moment, while listening to her ramble on.

“Pitiful. Are you still in a state of denial? I didn't ruin this picnic. I simply asked questions. You were the one who got upset, not I. You was the one who threw a punch, not I. So if anyone ruined this small get together it's you. For I acted civilized unlike you.” He said, ignoring said comment about the cookie crumbs on his face, seeing how he knew that there weren't any there. Having made sure right after ending the dumpling, no a Geisha must know how to present themselves at all times. When doing those occasion where one must eat with a patrons. The sky had a better chance of bleeding blood then Nanashi did in having crumbs on his face.

“You can't take me serious? The feelings mutual. Never took you serious from the beginning.” He said, smiling so sweet that it was almost sickly. Nanashi's body simply shimmered out of existence as a poof of smoke obscured Saiyuki's vision as he now appears where she was once sitting, having body flickered mere seconds before she landed on top of him.

“Now that's funny.” He said standing up with baskets in hands, chuckling slightly, seeing her kissed the dirt with her face. If he was a nice person, he would check on her to see if she had any injuries and heal them. But alas he wasn't exactly nice to those who punch him in the face.

“You can give that spread to dear ole dad, it should jar his memory. Oh and tell him that a Geisha by the name of Mayuko send her regards.” He said, the wind carrying his words as he disappeared from the cliff.

Truly today was interesting and full of surprises. While the friendship between Nanashi and Akio didn't bloom as well as it should – there was some there. No only that Nanashi had been given some answers and founded his step-sister. Only time will tell if the relationship between the two will amend or will they forever be nothing more then perfect strangers.
