Mission:

It was bright and early in the morning as Sunadokei Akimichi stood in line for the Mission Assignment Desk. She felt like a small fish in a big pond, many of the shinobi ahead of her she recognized as either Chūnin or even a couple to be Jōnin. Maybe something important was happening she wasn't aware of, and the woman silently hoped she'd be given a dangerous and important mission relative to her rank. Something to prove herself, and make her parents proud. She moved with a spring in her step as the line shuffled forward, her massive bust bobbing softly within her purple kimono as she rocked on the heels of her tabi. Excitement was steadily building within Sunadokei, as she mentally psyched herself up for what important task she might be granted. An escort mission? Maybe guarding a diplomat or ambassador? Or maybe helping a squad of her peers track down bandits. She longed for battle, an itch she hadn't scratched in a while. Anything would be better than another boring round of mail courier duty... or worse. Patrol. Sunadokei dreaded the 'P word,' seeing it only as a necessary evil.

"Next." The Jōnin proctor in charge of the mission assignment committee called out. The senior member of the committee for the day, the man was an elder member of the Hyūga clan, Sunadokei could tell just as much by his stoic disposition as his telltale silver-white eyes. She had seen him at the assignment desk many times in the past, the man clearly held a great knack for administrative flare. She also knew him to be very stern and direct, bracing herself for his sharp tongue as she stepped forward. "Ah, you again." He stated simply, Sunadokei was not a difficult person to forget. "Akimichi, Sunadokei, Genin, D-Rank, Taijutsu and Ninjutsu specializations." The Hyūga Jōnin rattled off the information from Sunadokei's dossier while she waited patiently for her task. "Hmm... I believe I assigned to you last time as well. Patrol Duty." As soon as the words left his mouth her heart sank. Her good day was ruined, and Sunadokei could feel the wind getting knocked from her sails.

"Is it at least the day shift?" She asked meekly, holding out one small sliver of hope. At least the day shift the village was bustling and alive with activity. Even better, the food vendors and ramen shops were open. Sunadokei would carefully plot a route through her patrol sector, going from vendor to vendor, in a circuit of snacking throughout the day. By the end of her shift she'd be incredibly bloated, but very content. It made the mission more bearable, and she loved sampling all the different food places scattered across the village. One day she vowed to have sampled them all. Sunadokei had puppy dog eyes as she mentally pleaded for the proctor to say yes. Just this once say yes.

"Hmm... Let me see." He said, stroking at his long white beard. The Hyūga elder unraveled the mission scroll, looking it over quickly. "C-Rank, Patrol Duty... assigned a partner, all very standard. Ah, here it is. No, evening shift I am afraid. Rendezvous at the designated location at eleven in the evening sharp, eight hour patrol shift. My condolences miss Akimichi." With that the proctor rolled up the scroll, stamping his approval seal besides Sunadokei's name in his ledger, and handing her the mission scroll. Sunadokei sighed slightly, tucking it away in her valley of cleavage for safekeeping.

"Thank you for this mission, I promise to complete it to the best of my ability." Sunadokei stated simply, never one to openly argue her mission or complain to an elder. She had great respect for those ranking above her within the shinobi government, and knew every task had its purpose great or small. Even if some of them she hated. With that Sunadokei turned to depart, passing by squads of higher ranking ninja eagerly discussing their dangerous assignments with their comrades. She wanted to hear nothing of it, she wanted to just go home and sleep. That way at least she'd be well rested and ready for eight hours of soul crushing boredom, with only her designated mission partner and the alley cats to keep her busy.

When Sunadokei returned home to the Akimichi estates she made straight for her bedroom, before curling up in bed with her old black tom cat Tōzoku. While her kitty was eager to snuggle up against his mistress for a catnap, Sunadokei slept only out of spite and necessity. Night missions screwed up her sleep schedule something fierce, and she found it better just to get ahead of that early to nip the problem in the bud. When she awoke it was past dinner time, which only annoyed Sunadokei further. With her stomach rumbling she slipped into more suitable clothes for the evening. Donning a black undershirt and leggings beneath her kimono and thigh highs. Evenings were chilly, and there was no point dressing provocatively if there was no one to flaunt her voluptuous figure to anyways. She also swapped out her purple kimono for a black one, the Akimichi clan symbol proudly emblazoned across her back. Inspecting her appearance and finding it agreeable, Sunadokei headed for the kitchen.

Missing dinner was a rare tragedy for the young woman, were she able to choose, she'd rather to be stuffed to capacity and loosening the sash around her midsection. Instead, her stomach growled loudly in protest as she rummaged through her the pantry. Luckily her mother, always thinking of her daughter's best interest, had left several plates of food wrapped in foil. Sunadokei ate them cold, it was enough to quite her stomach, though it did little to truly sate her hunger. She remedied the situation by stuffing her pockets with candy and meal replacement bars. Something to tide her over during the long shift. "This'll have to do for now..." She mumbled to herself as she slipped out the door and into the night. The buxom beauty raced her way across the empty streets in the dim moonlight. It didn't take long for her to reach the rendezvous point, a large iron statue of the legendary Naruto Uzimaki standing the center of Hokage Memorial Park.  "I hope this guy shows up soon." Sunadokei muttered to herself as she arrived, it seemed she was always the first to show up during night patrols. The woman leaned against the statue, unwrapping a candy bar and taking a rich bite. "And now... I wait." She said with a scoff, chewing slowly trying to savor her treat in the meantime. It was going to be a long night.

Wake up. Eat. Train. Sleep. Repeat. This was what Blades did on a nearly daily basis. It was the only schedule he would really get himself into, neglecting anything that would rank him up, and only doing the bear necessities to get by. It wasn't out of distaste for the system, or because he thought being a Shinobi was boring; no, on the contrary, for he just figured he wasn't truly ready. While he found his work ethic acceptable, he never felt like he was physically up to the tasks he knew he'd undergo one day, as a legendary ninja. So, due to that insecurity, he trained, trained and trained, every single day, to scratch that itch he needed in order to feel like he was ready. But he never improved.

Despite tirelessly toughening himself up with rigorous training exercises, and constantly dulling out pain onto himself to increase his endurance and such, it seemed to never work. His body was scarred, right arm horribly so, showing that he indeed tried his hardest, yet it never did anything for him. Though it was hard to admit, he knew why this was the case. But he'd sworn never to talk to himself about it again. This wouldn't be a deciding factor on his change of plans. No, instead, he decided it was just time to do something new. Maybe the reason he never got stronger was because he did the same thing, over and over, expecting to get results; it was time to try something new. That's what this mission was to him. A fresh start, to dip his toes into the waters of the true life of a ninja and maybe, just maybe, grow from it. It didn't matter to him what his assignment would be, so that's why he simply sent in a letter of request to be filled into a spot where he would be needed. The result was Patrol Duty. Perfect.

Since Blades almost never really slept due to his nature as a night owl, and his insomnia, the fact it was evening shift bothered him very little. The only thing he took on his person, asides his clothing, his blade Flame Nebula, and the carefully wrapped bandages all up his arm, were small pieces of coffee candy, something his grandmother made herself. They were filled with caffeine and protein, to keep himself awake and get a small supplementary boost...it just also happened to be his favorite, too. That being said, it would be all he needed for a simple patrol; once it was around five minutes before the time he was needed, he tightened up his scarf, pulled up his boots, slid on his glove, then proceeded to the rendezvous, taking his time, but going along the routes that would get him there right on time rather than early. What he'd see next was definitely going to be something he never encountered before.

As the young man strolled his way up to the statue, under the brim of his lovely hat, his luminescent hazel eyes stared at the figure of the woman who would be his mission partner, Sunadokei. Though she didn't wear anything revealing - smart, because the night was chilly - it's extremely difficult to hide what she was packing on her torso. It was simultaneously amazing and baffling to him, as he had never seen anything like what she had on a woman before. It was less a bother, and more of a curiosity at best. Plus, the woman herself had a rather welcoming face, at least, so did it really matter all that much? With a soft smile, he lifted his hat up so she'd be able to see his face, brimming with optimism, before he extended his bandaged hand out to her for a shake and finally said...

"Well, good evening, partner. Guess we'll be at this for quite a while, so I'll get introductions out of the way for you, so we can start; I'm Blades Akarari. I'm under the Sarutobi Clan, and I came here tonight because I needed to do something other just train all day. Glad I can be of assistance. What about your name?"

As for what she could see of him, he was decently tall, standing at six feet exactly, with fair but light skin, glowing hazel eyes as mentioned before, dirty blonde hair, a long, dark red scarf that flowed a little in the wind, a dark and light violet tunic with a golden button, jet black pants, and violet boots, alongside a single violet and black glove. Though most of his clothes hid it, any normal person could at least tell that muscles were under them, though nothing to crazy.

Sunadokei could hear the stranger approaching, not that it was particularly hard. The night air was dead still and there wasn't a soul around except for the two of them. From footsteps alone she could tell the approaching stranger was taller than her, but not heavier. Likely a man, with a slim build and not wearing any armor or a flak jacket. Her keen senses mostly proved her right when the stranger made themselves known. Sunadokei turned to face him as he drew near, turning on her heels and downing the last bite of her latest candy bar barely pausing to chew. The man had... interesting taste in attire. That was the least she could say. It certainly was atypical attire for a shinobi, what with the brimmed hat and tunic, both of which matched his purple boots and single purple glove. Sunadokei couldn't help but raise an eyebrow questioning to the stranger. "Well..." She thought to herself. "At least it won't be as boring an evening as I thought."

She caught the stranger staring at her chest as he approached, this was neither an uncommon or unwelcomed occurrence. Sunadokei was more than well aware of her exceedingly buxom chest, and silently relished the looked of amazement on the man's face as she sized it up. She placed on hand on a prominent hip and extended the other out to shake his gloved hand. "Enjoying the view I see?" The curvaceous woman teased jokingly, her handshake was firm and betrayed her considerable strength despite her womanly figure. "I guess you could say it's a good evening. It's not raining at least, so I shouldn't complain." Things could always be worse, she should be thankful if the worst thing that happened tonight was boredom.

The stranger was very straightforward, and introduced himself as Blades Akarari. She couldn't help but think that was a very peculiar first name, and wondered if the man used a nickname to hide his real identity. Still, she said nothing of it, though the man's introduction left her with more questions than it answered. Under the Sarutobi clan? What exactly did he mean by that? Had they taken him in as an adoption or was he simply in their tutelage. Well, there was only one way to find out. "A pleasure to meet you Blades Akarari." Sunadokei replied cheerfully, withdrawing her hand and crossing her arms folded beneath her enormous bust. "I am Sunadokei Akimichi, eldest daughter of Makaro Akimichi, the twenty third head of the Akimichi Clan and his heiress to the title of head of our clan."

Now that introductions were out of the way, Sunadokei could get to her many, many questions for this Blades individual. "Alright then, we should probably get to our patrol as soon as possible. I've got my mission scroll right here if you need to read it..." Sunadokei reached into her cleavage, sliding out her mission scroll slightly for her partner to see, before tucking it back in. "It's pretty standard stuff though. Eight hour shift, regular sweeps. I think we should have our first pass of the area done within the hour. But..." She paused, gesturing with her finger assertively. "I didn't get a very big dinner, so I feel like doing as little physical exercise as I can tonight. So I'd prefer we not get behind and need to run." With that Sunadokei turned away from the statue she had been leaning against, beginning to walk casually towards the north end of the part.

"Don't lag behind Blades." She teased playfully, hips swaying in a pendulous motion with each of her steps. "I say we hit the north edge of our patrol sector then rotate clockwise." Ever assertive, her comments were less suggestions and more statements what the duo was going to do. Sunadokei had done more than enough patrols to figure out what was the most optimum way to go about them. The least amount of work, for the necessary criteria for payment without anyone higher up the shinobi ranks getting mad at her for laziness. She tried much harder on other missions, ones that did not amount to just patrolling the streets at night.

Sunadokei waited until they'd at least left the Hokage Memorial Park before she began asking questions. Her verdant green eyes turned to face her partner as she began to speak. "So, Blades... Your last name is Akarari, but you said you Sarutobi Clan, right? What exactly did you mean by that. Do you serve them, or are you actually part of their clan? Also you said you said you only came on this mission because you 'needed something to do.' What's the story there? I don't often request specific missions, and when I do it's usually because I know the person who requested it. Night patrol is about the last mission I'd take up willingly, I'd honestly rather do a quick D-Rank Mission." She paused, letting out a soft sigh. "At least D-Ranks don't take eight hours to complete..." It was quite clear Sunadokei was less than enthused with the fact she'd been saddled with this mission. "But, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do." She said with a nonchalant shrug. "Father always said, every mission is important to the well being of the village, no matter how great or small. It's up to all of us do our part in our own special way." Her voice got lower, as she more mumbled her last line to herself. "Doesn't mean I like it sometimes though..."
