Chiaki stared into the woman’s eyes, her own blank stare overcoming the one that the woman at the counter had on her face, “I am Chiaki Guanyin, and I demand to be allowed entrance into the medical corps’ ranks. I don’t care who you have to call. I demand it.” She leveled that stare until the woman, finally, threw her hands in the air and pushed herself away from the desk. Honestly, who did she think that she was.

Chiaki, for all the world, looked her part. She was the Hokage’s assistant, and she looked that part down to the T. She had worn a pencil dress, with matching blouse and jacketted top It cinched itself all the way up to her neck, where she had tied a neat bow in her blouse. She had a stack of papers, accolades from the hospital and a look of determination on her face. She would get into the medical corps if it were the last thing that she did.

She hoped.

A bit of sweat dripped down her neck to betray her nervousness as she stood there, papers in hand, trying to gain entrance into their ranks. What if she wasn’t good enough for the medical corps? What if they heard about what she had done in the hokage’s warpath on Kumo? What if she had to undergo some sort of rigorous test. She planted her feet and set her jaw. She would make it in, no matter what. She waited for what seemed like hours to her but was really minutes before the woman guided her to a sitting room where she awaited whoever was going to come and interview her.

She hoped that they would be kind.

Chiaki had put her hair up in a braided bun, but wanted to have it down, as her forehead and head started to hurt and she scrambled for what she would say, who she would meet, and what the situation meant for her. Gulping, she waited on this mysterious figure, who she didn’t even get the name of. Perhaps she waited for hours, perhaps for minutes, but she paced the room, and eventually she sat down, waiting for her interviewer, perhaps someone with more experience than her, to show her what it meant to be a true medical ninja of the medical corps.

She hoped she would be strong enough to join their ranks.

It was a relatively boring day as he didn't have anything in particular on his schedule really worth looking forward to. A couple of boring meetings and some paperwork to fill out would be the bane of his existence for the remainder of the day until he could head out on another mission. "Ahhh S'Yan, I'm so bored. Find me an excuse to get out of here today..." he would lament to his mantid companion. After what seemed like hours of tedious paperwork and dull meetings, it appeared that there would at least be a bit of respite as the administrative assistant came to fetch him from his office in the administration building. "N'Jobu, there is a girl who wishes to be made a part of the Medical Corp and will simply not take no for an answer. She's waiting for you in the interview room down the hall," the assistant would relay back to him. "Ok. Sounds good. Thank you. I'll take care of it from here..." he would say as he cracked a smirk.

"Finally, at least something somewhat interesting today..." he thought to himself as he walked toward the interview room. He figured he would make whoever the young woman was who was waiting for him earn her spot if she truly wanted to be among the ranks of the Medic Corp. He reached the door to the room and swung it open. Before him was a young woman in a pencil dress with a matching blouse and jacket adorned with a bow near the top. Atop her head was blue hair tied up into a bun and a look of nervousness betraying her emotions. "This should be fun," he thought to himself as he contemplated how we would mess with her as was traditional for anyone trying to join the medic corp.

"So Chiaki Guanyin is it? Why should you be a part of the Medic Corp? Do you really think you have what it takes?" he would belt at her his serious tone. He tried his best not to break character as he was holding laughter back which would betray his intention of messing around with the potential new recruit. He would wait for a moment for her to conjure up some kind of response before he would begin with the more..."practical" portion of the interview. He hoped she would be promising but if not, he would at least have a bit of fun to break the dullness of the day otherwise.

Chiaki sat up as a man entered into the room, she watched as the caramel skinned N’jobu walked in and wondered if he was in the right place. He had a konoha headband, like she did, but hers was tucked away and his was on his head, not hidden from plain view. He had used a black band rather than the traditional blue one, and he was dressed in typical shinobi attire. She wondered whether or not he was the person that she was supposed to interview with, but he seemed a bit lax, though tough and stern. She had the thought that perhaps he was the one who took his job seriously and also joked around the water cooler.

Clearing her throat and nodding to his question she responded with a quick shuffling of papers, getting out her file that she had on herself. She had typed it up that night, and at the head of each paper that she had typed, she had a recollection of what had happened in her own words.

“I have compiled a list of my work with the hospital in this file, ranging from open heart surgery to transplants, all the way up to reattaching limbs and the like.” She nodded, and then took out another set of papers, splaying them out, “This is what I did when I was a genin in the hokage’s warpath, not too long ago, and what I did to help with the effort. I won’t go into much detail, but I performed surgeries, a lot of otomies in the field, and also had to administer pain medication, sedation, and the like.”

Turning over her final paper, she nodded, “And here are my credentials as per the shinobi list, as to the accolades, I don’t know whether they are accurate, but I took an aptitude test before I came here. It has a ranking system, and also has some ‘specializations?’ Whatever that should mean.” She looked to the man expectantly, and waited for his verdict.

As he barked at her, she sat up in her chair and began to nod her head up and down to his quick barrage of questions. She began to shuffle some papers about which appeared to be files characterizing her recent actions in the field as the Hokage's assistant and some other accolades of a related nature to her abilities as a medical nin. She appeared to clearly be qualified, at least on paper at least but he knew that on paper wasn't real life. He would need to see her abilities in action with his own eyes before he would give the green light for her to join the medic corp. Given she had such a high aptitude for medical ninjutsu, he wanted to see just how good she was under pressure in a real life situation. Thinking quickly, he smirked to himself as he thought up a test for her to handle to see just how well she could handle the stress and chaos of battle.

He looked at her with the papers in hand and said, "Your credentials are nice...but I don't really care about paper. Anyone can be good on paper. Let's see how you handle serious situation. Let's head outside...this could get a bit messy." He turned around and headed back out the door, motioning for her to follow him. He would give her a moment to gather her things or whatever she needed but if she took to long he would simply just continue walking to his intended destination outside. Once outside he would wait for her should she have lagged behind him, but he figure given her eagerness she would not waste this opportunity by being slow.

Once the two were out small training area outside of the administration building, he walked over to her and asked her to put down all her papers and file and outstretch her hands, palm side up. He would wait a moment for her to comply with his request. After her compliance he would place his hand on top of hers to shield her eyes from what he was about to do. He grinned menacingly towards her as he initiated his test to see just how well she would react under pressure. Unknown to her, he had summoned his nano-insects onto her hands which would soon begin to destroy the flesh on her hands. He had instructed them to only do slight damage, nothing that he couldn't easily heal himself should she fail under the pressure. "So you should begin to feel something here in about ten seconds. The flesh on your hands will become necrotic in about 20...better hurry up and patch this up. Good luck kid..."

Chiaki gathered up the papers quickly, using her skills as a nurse to do so in an efficient manner by scooping them all into the folder. Messy? Yes. But all of the papers were there, and apparently time was of the essence.

He moved quick, but she moved quickly to catch up with him, almost overtaking him in her burst of speed that took her from the room to his location. She was surprised, thought that he was a senior officer of the medical corps, but perhaps she was wrong. Or he was hiding his true potential.

Once they reached the outside, she was instructed to toss the papers aside, which she did with abandon. She could always make more copies, and they were unofficial documents that would require research on his part anyhow to corroborate. She outstretched her hands and felt the beetles go into her hands before she could react to them, his hands on top of hers the entire time.

"Good credentials is right." She jumped back and wove hand seals, conjuring sixteen pillars just in front of her, attempting to seal him inside the barrier with one set of hand seals on one hand, as she was wont to do in a situation like this. She had no reason to do it outside of battle, but in battle, where hand seals were woven with two hands, she could literally gain the upper hand by weaving two sets of seals at the same time. Making sure that she was out of harm's way she was already weaving the hand seals for her other technique, focusing chakra into her eyes.

She stopped moving to see where the beetles were and in which directions they were moving along with how deep they were with her jutsu. "Two just below the epidermis and one in the dermis of the left hand the other ones, five of them, in my right hand, one near the bone and one heading for the artery in the thumb. two of them are burrowed into my palm inbetween the nerves, that'll hurt, and one is scurrying up to my wrist." She said aloud, then focused and made two identical chakra scalpels, one in her left hand and one in her right.

Plunging both into her hands, she worked to get the beetles out of her left hand first, stomping on them as they came out and then out of her right hand. The wounds stayed open and then she let go of the guanyin penetration jutsu and wove a couple more hand seals before sealing up her hands with one of her guanyin senbon.

She glared at him, a red chakra surrounding her, "How dare you mess with my hands?" her rage bubbled to the surface, her guanyin chakra, left unchecked started to drip from her, and each blade of grass it touched hissed and died from the necrotic chakra, "Do you know how many people I can save with these hands?" She asked, indignant, defiant, full of wrath. He had hit her short fuse trigger.

The teal chakra allows for the user to ‘peel away’ visual layers of a patient’s body. The jutsu isn’t able to actually peel away physical layers, but is more used to suss out what is wrong with the victim. In this way, the ninja can assess internal bleeding, fractures that are not visible to the naked eye, internal organ failure, ruptured or bruised organs, harm to the nervous system, harm to the circulatory system, harm to the respiratory system, any physical foreign objects lodged in the viscera of the victim, and other issues which would be not visible to the naked eye. The layer system is this: Skin depth for the first, which peels off the layer of skin, next is tissue layer, which peels off the surrounding tissues and shows muscles. Tendon layer, which shows the tendons and hidden vessels throughout the musculature of the patient. Circulatory, which outlines the cirulatory system of the victim. Skeletal: which outlines the bones, any fractures therein. organic which shows the organs of the victim. And then intraorganic: which shows the innards of the victim’s organs, such as blockages in the stomach or intestinal tracts, foreign objects in the lungs or respiratory system or whether the patient is pregnant. Note: This jutsu cannot magnify the normal user’s vision, so the user is only able to see what they would normally be able to see in terms of objects which would be visible to the naked eye outside the body. This cannot be enhanced by using this jutsu through any sort of visual aid such as a microscope. The victim/patient must be immobile for this to work (AKA in a prone position or paralyzed). This jutsu cannot see any 'hidden' jutsu, as per the above, you must be able to see it without the use of another jutsu to be able to see it with this jutsu. Chakra cost of 30.

As he expected of a medical nin with her credentials and promise, she quickly took a step back and began to form seals before him. Within a moment pillars of light sprung from the ground forming a dome like barrier around him. She seemed to be forming two separate sets of hand seals, one per hand, an unusually advanced trait for a shinobi which was indeed impressive. Not feeling like expending too much energy on this test, he laid down on the ground, putting his head in his right hand to prop it up as he watched the girl work before him to stop his insects from causing necrosis to set in on her hands. As he watched he noted that her eyes began to glow with a teal hue as she looked down upon her hands, looking to be examining the extent of the damage being caused by his insects within her. "Interesting...this has turned out to be quite a bit more exciting than paperwork," he thought to himself as he watched with interest

She stopped moving around for a few moments, seemingly to figure out just what his insects were doing inside her, before beginning to detail out loud what she was seeing. "So...those eyes let her see into the body. That's quite useful. I'll have to keep that one in mind," he contemplated. Without further hesitation, she created what appeared to be chakra scalpels and plunged them into her left hand, working diligently to excavate the insects burrowing inside her. After removing his insects from her left hand, she quickly switched over to the perform the same excavation upon her right hand. The wounds left behind were visible to him, although they weren't too bad compared to what he could have tasked her with. "Hmmmm maybe I should have given her something a bit more difficult. Maybe next time... Most candidates fail this part anyways so maybe she really is just that good," he pondered to himself.

"How dare you mess with my hands? Do you know how many people I can save with these hands?" she exclaimed in anger as looked down upon him with a red aura emanating from her body. The aura dripped from her presence, killing the blades of grass beneath her with some form of necrosis."O Calm down...you are fine. Not like I destroyed your hands. You seemed to have fixed yourself up just fine," he said back to her in a quite nonchalant manner. He slowly stood up from his spot on the ground and turned to his companion upon his shoulder for a bit of input. "What do you think S'Yan, is she good enough?" His mantid companion would raise his raptorial front legs and sway back and forth, his own little version of a nod of approval. "Well it seems that S'Yan likes you. You're in. Good job. I'm feeling a bit lazy today so  can you take your barrier down now please. Nice touch to try and hinder your opponent by the way. Although next time you should probably make sure they are down for the count otherwise it could be a bad day," he would say to her as he chuckled a bit while waiting for her to bring down the barrier around him. However if she choose not to, he would be forced to break his way out the hard way which he really didn't feel like expending the energy to do and would only aggravate him should he have to do so.

The man just stood there, under her pillars for some time, and even laid down. When she got angry, he Just put his hands up. That's all he did and then calmly explained that she had passed the test. Well, of course she had passed the test.

Still glaring at him, she didn't want to waste the chakra to keep up the barrier anyhow, the pillars remained, but the lightning between them stopped and the deep scowl never left her face, "If this is how you test your new recruits, shame on you." She glowered at him, "What if your bugs-" She dug her heel into the ground, crushing one with enough force to put a crack in the earth beneath her heel, "destroy their hands before you can break through their barriers? What happens if you get paralyzed and they struggle with them? They would be useless to you if they lost their hands."

Her rage wasn't abated, not one bit, she grit her teeth and glared, full force at the man, and his mantid that he had on his shoulder, "I could give two craps what your bug likes or dislikes. I thought that I would join an organization that would test my skills, help me get better, and perhaps one day reach my goal of opening up my own hospital, perhaps even staff it and learn medical ninjutsu from some of the best of the hidden leaf."

Digging her heel in more, "But what do I find? I find a bug, and a bug master who can't help but play a prank on someone who has a prospect to learn from them."

She stood before him, glaring at him as if he were the devil incarnate. He could feel the seething anger emanating from her, which made him snicker a bit but it was a good sign she was truly someone who wishes to help. She then went on a rant about what would happen to other contestants should they fail and blah blah blah. He tuned her out while she continued to drone on about testing her skills and him being a prankster as she dug her heels into the ground after stomping about. He stood their nonchalantly until she was done and replied, "Are you done? Did you really think I would seriously harm you? Clearly I'm quite a medical ninja to hold this position and my insects obey my every command. If I wanted them to truly injure you, you wouldn't have hands anymore. Obviously if you failed this task, I'd heal you but considering you are good enough to handle it yourself there was no need. There is a bit of method to my madness. If you stopped to think for a moment, what is one of the most difficult situations for a medical ninja to be in? Under siege from the enemy, wounded, with minimal use of your hands.  The difference between life and death can be one mistake. You did well today but don't get cocky. I appreciate your dedication to helping others but next time I test you...I won't be so nice. But for now, you're in. I'll be contacting you soon for assignments. Until next time," he said with a smirk. In an instant he performed the tiger seal and  summoned forth a swarm of insects to encircle him before body flickering himself back up to his office. "She's going to be a pain in my ass I already can tell. I like her though," he said as he reclined back into his chair chuckling to himself.
