A pair of worn shinobi sandals trotted down the path towards Kumogakure. His body was fatigued, yet his spirit was energetic and vigorous. The full fledge shinobi turned into a wanderer, a nomad with the specific mission of finding one shinobi in the entire land of shinobi; his task was to find the needle in the haystack. A polished Kirigakure headband dawned upon his eyebrows, declaring his oversea origins. The young Hattori was truly in a new world. The air was much drier than in Kiri, the land much more arid and the temperature was noticeable. Seito welcomed the new change but with these changes came challenges; these challenges caused alarm for the internal persona, yet, the bravado of the boy refused to show any sign of distress or anxiety. The signs on the highway proved to be no help as the young adult navigated through the lands in hope to get Kumogakure.

The bright sun beat harshly on his neck. Clouds filled the skies but they were not a significant defense against the scorching rays. A cooling breeze accompanied the barren climate that flowed through his clothing, relaxing him. Seito managed to make his way past several small shops along the way that served local cuisine and sent drifting smells to the hungry traveler. His willpower let him walk past several without his stomach rumbling, an attempt to remind Seito how hungry he truly was. A light chuckled came out of his mouth as he realized that he lost, lost the battle against nature. His mouth watered by a new scent that caressed his nose. The little shack that borne origin to this aroma was within eyeshot, it appeared to look like a ramen shack. Bar stools covered with a canopy that connected the patron to the cook. It only took a few minutes before he lifted up the curtain, revealing the empty bar and the cook who sat patiently. “Oh hello traveler!” He said with enthusiasm and interest. “Here is our menu.” He said as the chef handed the foreigner the menu that bore no pictures.

Seito returned with a smile as he took his seat and grabbed the menu. As he sat, he could feel his feet beat; they were delighted to have earned a break. A traveler took long, harsh days that blistered toes. Nothing compared to shinobi training but it certainly was not ‘easy.’ The bar had six empty chairs and Seito took the chair that left one chair to his right and the rest to his left. His eyes examined the menu and the prices. His eyebrow rose; intrigued by the new culture that he had never been exposed to. Of course there were some things that were also served in Kirigakure but majority of the menu was new to him. Some things must be better than others, but what should be choose? He was going to have to take a shot in the dark,  “I will take the Lightning bowl.” The Lightning bowl was near the top of the menu, which Seito believed was a safe bet. The chef nodded his head and quickly begun to cook. The Hattori watched to pass the time.

Kumogakure was a tad bit hotter than Kirigakure was.

It took Toshiko around another 30 minutes to make the distance from the very outskirts of kirigakure, to the woods in front of kumogakure while running, and once he'd made it into the wilderness, he was extremely exhausted. The strain that had been put onto his body that day alone was unbelievably painful, but he knew he'd have to keep pushing through to make it back home. That being said, he couldn't keep trucking through forever. His legs were on the verge of giving out on him almost as soon as he'd hit the forest, and His body had forced him to change up his pace. He kept himself at a steady pace as he trotted through the forest, attempting to build up his energy for him to run once more as he usually did, but things weren't working that way today. His lack of intake  on air was probably due to the wound he'd taken on his chest that day which was still healing, and the extra strain he was putting on his body wasn't really helping much. He was happy he was simply sore, and that the burn wound had healed up. He brought his focus back towards the path that he was on, and increased his pace. For whatever reason, he was extremely set upon reaching the village.

It took a few minutes for him to make it near the end of the long road towards the village's gate, and upon his way, he saw something different. There was a series of shops set up, with several other people just outside the village. Toshiko inferred this was for other travelers who planned on entering the village to take a break and relax themselves. Toshiko hadn't ever seen anything like it before. At least those from kumogakure were considerate enough to think of the good health of the travelers. He headed towards one of the booth, sitting down on a stool bar next to an older guy with long black hair. He looked towards the menu, and saw something for 12 ryo and decided to order it.

"One Fire bowl Please."

within a few minutes, the chef came to Toshiko, placing a bowl of ramen in front of him with a seemingly distorted color. he was exhausted and extremely hungry, so without much thought, he started to Devour the bowl of ramen, barely paying any attention to the heat being admitted from the sauce. He didn't stop eating, and managed to devour the bowl entirely within a few dozen seconds. After doing so, he put the bowl down, and sat there, resting himself.

A bowl appeared in front of the genin and the scent floated into his nose. The delicate smell insisted that this bowl would be delicious. Grabbing the bowl, he lifted it to his mouth and sip it to examine the broth. It had good flavor and certainly was prepared with skill. His fingers flicked the chopsticks as he grabbed the freshly made noodles and downed them into his mouth. Before he could slurp down the noodles, another boy presented himself next to Seito. He was of relative height, looked about the same age but was noticeable younger in the face. Maybe 3 or 4 years, not much but Seito certainly noticed it. The two seemed exhausted from traveling, walking was the one way that travelers could get to this location and all the travelers showed signs of fatigue and exercise. Most notable was the eye patch that covered one of the eyes.

The genin watched as the stranger ordered a bowl. His bowl came out much quicker than Seito's due to the fryers already been warmed up to Seito's orders. The Hattori watched as the guest downed his bowl within only moments, this observation proved that the bowl in front of the genin had not even reached half way. Upon finished his bowl, the boy sat there for a moment to let his food settle. He might have eaten too quickly. From what he remembered, the fire bowl consisted of spice. Seito wondered how that was going to settle and how it was going to exit.

He broke the silence between the two with a direct and perhaps, brash question. "How did you get that eye patch?" He said as he turned his body and pointed to his respective eye with the chopstick. Seito was a naturally curious shinobi and could not help but to ask. He wanted to know everything all the time. Hopefully, the guest would not take offense and simply answer the question. And, without sarcasm. Sharing war stories was a past time for shinobi, hopefully the two could pass the time peacefully.

It wasn't until his meal reached his stomach that he felt it's true effect.

The abundance of spices built within Toshiko's stomach, causing his stomach to begin grumbling rapidly. He nearly shot up out of his seat, holding his stomach and grumbling out in pain. It was only comparable to a constant burn being applied to him, but only one that he couldn't really put out. All he could do was wait for the burning pain in his body to pass through. It seemed as though it would take forever, mainly due to how much spice was used to season each individual noodle within the ramen bowl. After a few more moments of him laying down on the shop's large bar table, head down and erupting in groans, the pain subsided.

He sat up, sighing loudly in an attempt to relax himself and his body. His eyes were closed, as he was attempting to remove his attention from the environment around him. When he'd finally opened his eyes, he noticed that he'd caught someone's attention. They were of about the same height and body build, as from Toshiko's perspectives their bodies equaled one another in length. His hair and eyes were black, His lips were bright red, and Toshiko had to admit that he didn't look half bad. He had a tanto within it's sheathe upon his left shoulder, which reminded Toshiko of his own Tanto, of which he had in sheathe on his right hip.

Toshiko simply made brief eye contact with the man, almost forgetting to speak to him due to his brief analyzation of his physical appearance. Not knowing what to say, he gave off an awkward, yet also playful short smile, and a few seconds after doing so, turned his head back towards the chef's direction, laying his head down into his folded arms. His body was beginning to feel rested again, and he knew that he was going to have to get back on the move once more. These days he hadn't found himself to have much time available to be spend laundering around and resting himself. Every second since he left konoha on the trip he'd found himself on the move, whether it was fighting, training, or just moving to the next destination. He enjoyed the moment he'd been given to rest himself. It was a much needed break that he wouldn't be able to continue on without having.

"How did you get that eye patch?"

The awkward silence between the two was abruptly broken once the words left the man's lips and were picked up by Toshiko's ears. He removed his forehead from his forearms as he sat up, and then turned to face the direction the voice had come from. It was a rather strange and also somewhat rude question to ask, but Toshiko understood. Maybe the man shared his common trait of not being capable of starting conversation as other individuals "normally" would. Toshiko certainly understood having to deal with said disadvantage, and decided to answer him because of it.

"I um....... I lost it in a fight. Got my eye slit open straight through the center. Damn near lost my life. I keep the eye patch there to spare other people's eyes the trouble of having to look at it."

He decided to answer, but that didn't mean he'd have to answer honestly. Of course, he wanted to tell the truth. Always. But he knew that he simply couldn't. he couldn't risk having to deal with the repercussions of someone knowing the truth about the eye behind the patch. His sharingan was a dangerous gift, that could put his life in danger if revealed to the wrong individuals. He'd already revealed this feat to a few people, but knew to keep the list of people who knew about his sharingan short, and only filled with people he could trust. Was this man one of these people? Only time would tell.

His eyes would watch as the stranger would attempt to get comfortable on the bar table with a fiery belly. The thunderous roars coming from his stomach proved Seito's theory correct. A light smirk appeared on the face of the genin as he slurped his delicious noodles with one eye watching the stranger. One reason for the close observations was due to his lack of trust. In the shinobi world, it is really easy to get burned. Most shinobi had a natural sense of skepticism but Seito's was a profound trait that he held to most people in most regards. His mouth watered as the delectable vegetables danced around between his ivory statutes, his sense of flavor was allowing Seito to drop his guard, only momentarily. Food was certainly his weakness and it was proving to be so as his eyes would close for moments at a time, in order to fully examine the flavors in his mouth and savor the shocking spices. Seito would also notice how the stranger performed an ocular investigation and even gave an awkward smile. An awkward smile that Seito faithfully returned.

The answer that came from the stranger did not satisfy Seito's thirst. The second pause, also lifted an eyebrow showing the distrust and skeptic nature of the genin. Then he explained why he had the eye patch. It seemed like once Seito had a bite, he could not stop and always wanted more. The shinobi lifted his bowl, draining it of all liquids then placed the empty bowl on the ground. His eyes glanced over to the other empty bowl and with a smile, he looked up towards black jumpsuit shinobi. "You want another one?" He said as he pointed to the bowl with his chopsticks. "My treat." He added in hopes that he would budge. Taking the chopstick back towards his bowl and quickly tapping it twice to get the chef's attention. The chef quickly responded by looking at Seito who gave an affirming nod for another bowl. The bowl was rich with flavor and was in a decent portion but the genin was going to need to fill up his reserve tank as well.

"They call me Hattori Seito. Genin of Kirigakure."
He said as he peered over to his friend with the rumbling tummy. The desire to know what was behind that eye was driving Seito's kindness. Spending time at the Kirigakure Intelligence Division granted him plenty of opportunities to not only learn but apply skills in intelligence gathering. He learned how the human mind worked and how it reacted. Hopefully, creating rapport with the new stranger would allow him greater access to the information given. Half of Seito did not believe the reasoning, since he was an illusionist and all, he was used to manipulation. Though, the other half would not push to hard and assume it's truth value. There was really only one way to find out and that was to probe and delve deeper into the boy; hopefully Seito's friendliness would be that very medium.

It only took a moment before Seito's empty bowl was replaced with a sizzling bowl filled to the brim. His eyes glimmered as he nodded with appreciation to the chef; then he picked up his used chopsticks and begun to work on the flavorful vegetables.

The boy responded to Toshiko's answer with a raised eyebrow, showing his skepticism and distrust towards Toshiko's response. At least he wasn't the common naive Shinobi, (A trait that Toshiko couldn't honestly say he shared), though his distrust in his answer could prove to be troublesome for The young boy in the near future. He certainly hoped no hardship would come from that. After silently responding to Toshiko's answer, the man went back towards his bowl, drinking the broth all in one gulp, and upon finishing looked up towards Toshiko's currently unfinished bowl.

"You want another one?"

The chopsticks within his hand gestured towards the bowl, to reinstate that he was referring to another bowl of ramen.

"My treat."

The words almost caught Toshiko's attention. He was running low on money at the moment, and a stranger was offering to pay off a meal for him? He certainly was never one to turn down free meals, especially a bowl of ramen, but putting a dent in the pockets of strangers wasn't of his interest.

"Thanks, that's very kind of you. But, i'll pass. I think one bowl was more than enough for my stomach to withstand."

"They call me Hattori Seito. Genin of Kirigakure."

Seito spoke the words after glancing towards Toshiko once more. Seito Hattori, Genin of Kirigakure. He'd only met two other genin from kirigakure before. The first was a rather terrifying child named Sero who he'd fought with in the chuunin exams, and the second being a simple yet kind hearted pirate boy named Dovy, who'd taught him fuuton in a training session. Seito had done him the kindness of a greeting, So toshiko decided to reply. There was no legitimate reason for him to hide his identity from the genin, so he planned to answer honestly.

"Uzumaki, Toshiko. Special Jounin Of Konohagakure. A pleasure to meet you, Seito."

As he gave the genin his name, the chef behind the counter replaced Seito's empty bowl of ramen with a new full one, and Toshiko watched as Seito grabbed his chopsticks, and started away at the vegetables within the broth. Tosihko smiled at him, and then stared towards the genin looking at him and awaiting a response

The Konoha ninja responded with genuine kindness, respectfully declining Seito’s offer. He shrugged it off, and smiled back as the Konoha shinobi explained that one fire bowl was more than enough to please his rumbling tummy. The Hattori had more belief and faith in this statement and would not fight the claim nor would he force a stranger to eat. Though, the Kiri nin would now think of this wanderer as a bit crazy. Who does not accept free food? Free food was Seito’s number one weakness! He was more than certain that this plan would work. Perceiving the smile that followed, Seito felt that it was safe to assume the two were building some sort of relationship. One that could possibly lead to revealing what lay behind that eye patch of his. Perhaps, it was nothing but it certainly could have been a doujutsu of some type. Eye transplant were rare to find in the shinobi world and Seito would not give up an opportunity to see one. Half of him wanted to give up and just believe that he lost his eye…but on the other hand, it could be some cool doujutsu.

‘Uzumaki, Toshiko.’ The words vibrated in his mind in an attempt to seal the name to the face. There have been countless instances where Seito would see somebody and forget their name, then he would continue the conversation and before he knew it, it was too late to reintroductions. His ears pointed upwards and his eyes fattened, widening to their fullest. ‘Special Jonin? But how? He is so young.’ He thought, this one was more questionable but Seito was going to believe it. ‘I wonder what makes him a special jonin.’ He thought putting emphasize on the word ‘special.’ There might have been some jealously raging around the genin’s body but he would do his best to hide it. He was certain that his shocked expression was more noticeable. IN an attempt to hide any negative expressions, he worked on his noodles and bit more before responding to the smiling shinobi.

“Well, Toshiko, I can assure you the pleasure is all mine.” He says as he shifted his focus from his emptying ramen bowl to the special jonin. “Now, being a special jonin and all, I wonder if there are a few tricks you can teach an old dog like myself.” He spoke in a joking manner while mocking himself. Seito was not old by any means, but he felt old. Well, he felt behind. There should be no excuse why the seventeen year old shinobi is not at least a chunin, his full time job at the Kirigakure Intelligence Division has certainly been the culprit in delaying his progress. His eyes peered up and down the younger boy. Maybe, Konoha standards have been dropping; there was only one way to tell. The Hattori has certainly been getting into a handful of fights within the first couple days of arriving in the Lightning Country, he wondered if the food was causing all the build up in testosterone.

“Well, Toshiko, I can assure you the pleasure is all mine.”

A smile erupted upon Toshiko's face, in response to the kind words Seito had shared with him. After speaking the words, Seito's attention left his empty bowl and went towards Toshiko. He seemed to be eyeing him down for an extended period of time. It was getting a bit awkward, but Toshiko didn't want to make it appear that way, keeping his same greeting facial expression to show Seito. Seito's eyes seemed to particularly focus on his eye patch. His curiosity was proving to not only begin to be an annoyance, but could've meant danger for Toshiko's safety in the future. He didn't like making statements about people he didn't know, but Toshiko knew that Seito wasn't stupid. he certainly wasn't buying the story that he'd given up about his eye, and that would be a problem. if he couldn't take the man's focus away from the eye, he may start to wonder off what was behind it. It wasn't like that would make a legitimate difference, even so. He was only a genin, and while Toshiko didn't want to underestimate him or anyone for that matter, He could keep him from getting at his eye patch as long as he wasn't caught by surprise. He sighed upon the realization. The sharingan he'd been given was causing way more harm than good. That being said, he knew it wasn't a bad choice. It would save his life one day. He just knew it somehow.

“Now, being a special jonin and all, I wonder if there are a few tricks you can teach an old dog like myself.”

Tricks? Toshiko wasn't entirely understanding of what he meant, but he assumed he could try. He'd taught multiple genin before, and it wasn't like he was new to teaching. Aside from that, he wasn't sure how to go about doing so. He thought that it was nothing that couldn't be done, and because of that decided to speak. He was glad though. This was another reason for him to change subject of the eye patch he wore. It was nice to have the chance of being a teacher once more. It had been a long while since he had been given the chance to take someone underneath his tutelage. The last time he'd gotten to do such a thing was with Dovy, another kirigakure ninja who he'd trained in the village's training grounds. Dovy had taught him the wind release, and Toshiko had fought with him for a bit. He was good, even for a beginning Genin. His skill surpassed that of many of the other genin that he'd seen. Hopefully Seito would be able to hold his head up against the last impression Toshiko had received of a genin. Toshiko couldn't initially tell what his jutsu specialties were, but he hoped it would be something worth his time.

"I dunno. I can teach you, but only if you can keep up. I'll try. You'll have to follow me from here though, and we'll have to find an area where we can train properly!"

Toshiko felt nourished enough, and his energy had replenished Nearly in full. He could stretch himself out a bit by taking someone underneath his tutelage, at least for the time being. He stared towards the chef once more with a smile upon his face, reaching in his pocket to pull out the last 20 ryo that he had on him at the moment.

"Thank you for the meal sir."

He placed the ryo in the chef's hand, and then hopped off of his stool, facing towards the direction he came from.

"Alright Seito, Follow me."

Toshiko started down the road at a jogging pace, moving down the straight pathway back into the deep forest around kumogakure in which he'd come from. It was nearly identical to that of konoha's and would have been were it not for the extreme difference in overall climate. The sky was always cloudy, and somewhat damp as Kirigakure was. He still didn't mind it, as he'd gotten used to it during his time in kirigakure. It was nostalgic, actually. He almost felt as if he was back in the outskirts of konoha, going towards the rolling hills for his first squad one meeting. It had been such a long time since then, it almost felt like it was decades ago. Hideki, Kaneda, Sousetsu sensei. All of them were enjoying the day in one simple spot, but they had never gotten another. Even so, it seemed to simple, so bittersweet for him to be able to experience that for even just a moment. Like people always said, sometimes forever only lasts a second. He missed those days dearly, but was always looking forward to where his future would take him. The fun part about it was that he never really knew, and thus the amount of possible outcomes was inevitable. After a few minutes down the path, he stopped, finding a large open space, free of trees. He turned around, waiting for Seito to show up so he could continue on with the teaching of the tricks he oh so desired. What would he choose to teach Seito? he wasn't even sure. He'd have to see a showcase of what the young shinobi was capable of first, and only then would he know what he could teach him. He'd test him in a spar, see his abilities, and then, he would start the teaching. he'd have to start off with something simple and sweet though. Maybe a shadow clone or two to test out what seito was capable of. he was sure that the old genin would at least be capable of handling that. Only time would tell.

The Hattori got a reasonable response. Toshiko agreed to train him if he could keep up. The genin himself would have the same policy; this policy makes sense because Seito would only accept students that were already at a high caliber. He had little interest in teaching routine technique and shinobi theory. Seito was certainly pushing boundaries with his own skill and only entertained those who were above his caliber. This way, Seito's benefit of training with the higher end shinobi would be abundant, much more than if he were training with other genin. In fact, his individual genjutsu skill was much too high for genin anyways. He assumed that he would be able to put up a good fight but he understood a higher ranked shinobi when he saw one. Their rank came from merit and ability, something that Seito can honestly respect and admire. The young genin had a lack of respect for authority when it came to politics however, when it came to shinobi he knew that most of them worked hard and were honest people. Even if when he is on the battlefield he respects the other opponents capabilities, even if it does not appear so.

There was a breeze that crept up through the ramen stand that set a calming chill down his spine as he exhaled with happiness due to the food. This place never seemed to disappoint Seito, in fact most places in Kirigakure never seemed to disappoint Seito. He had a particular fondness of food and loved the food in Kirigakure but was very excited to try new foods around other places. Seito has been criticized as unable to savor the current moment because he thinks too far in the future too much.

The student nodded his head with a rush of eager veins pumping through his body. The genin followed the Special Jonin's act by reaching into his own pocket and dropping ryo coins besides his bowl. There was a little extra tip; he would have given more but the genin was on a tight budget. Being a student and all seems to be draining the bank. However, Seito had been receiving special assignments that usually came with special pay. If it were not for this then Seito might not be able to go out as often as he does. He simply was excited to become a jonin to increase his income earning potential ten fold. If only there was a universe that had free tuition. The call for Seito to follow came quick and early and Seito responded with the same attitude. He quickly jumped off his stool and followed Toshi until the two got into a nice clearing with ample space for a spar. The two would know that they would be putting their shinobi skills to the test and representing their home villages. The headband that glowed over his eyebrows was something that prevented him from failure or embarrassment. Seito knew that Kiri would be able to guide him to success and power over the years, he just had to wait and continue to do what he has been doing. Seito was on a path to success.
