Mission:

Kennosuke sat in his room, silently inspecting his gear. He had another exhibition fight today and wanted to make sure his equipment was ready for the fight. After inspecting his last arrow, he replaced it into the quiver and stood up. He takes the harness that held his quiver, knives and the holster for his bow and buckles it into place over his shoulders. Grabbing his bow, he presses the recessed button that folded the bow, and slid it into the holster on his lower back. He settles his forehead protector into place on his forehead and leaves his room. Outside he was greeted by a rather large eagle perched on nearby roof top. Kennosuke had found the bird tangled in wire and set it free, but now the bird followed Kennosuke around. He didn't mind, it was a beautiful Harpy Eagle and Kennosuke took to calling him Jin. He took off down the street and the Eagle leapt into the sky, content on circling high in the sky above Kennosuke.

He was fighting a Iwagakure Nin today. One that he had taken a few missions with since the onset of the Exams. He liked Teiho and looked forward to meeting him in the arena. Today’s match would take place in an actual arena and would be Kennosuke’s first time fighting there, since his match with Ting was in an improvised roped off square in the market. It would be fun, fighting before the cheering crowds, especially against a Shinobi from Iwagakure. He moved through the Village slowly, enjoying the rather nice day. As he walked, some of the older Shinobi of the Village would nod at him in passing. As a new Chunin, it felt good to get that little bit of acknowledgment.

He arrived at the Arena as the match before his was still going on, so be leaned on a rail inside the spectator stands. Jin squawked and landed on the railing near his new friend, also observing. The match was between a Leaf Nin and a Kiri Nin and thus far the Leaf Nin had the upper hand, seemingly having the Kiri Nin on the ropes. But in a quick move The Kiri nin releases a thick mist from her mouth, engulfing the two of them in it and hiding them from sight of the crowds. If he wanted, he could of used his Aibaningu to see what was going on inside the mist, but it didn’t matter. After a few minutes the mist faded and there were numerous clones of the Kiri nin and the Leaf nin was trapped inside the Water Prison Jutsu, holding up his hand to signal his defeat. The crowd roars as the Kiri nin releases her jutsu and the pair make their way from the Arena. After a few moments an annoucer comes over the intercom introducing the next match, Kennosuke Kimura of the Hidden Leaf vs Teiho Seiker of the Hidden Stone.

Kennosuke grabs the railing he was leaning against and leapt over it, landing down in the arena floor. The crowd had began to cheer as he makes his way toward the center of the Arena. Part of him wanted to give in to the crowd and hype them up more but he decided against it. So he stood there, his thumbs hooked into the harness waiting for his opponent. Jin screeched after Kennosuke, but remained safely in the stands.

Fighting had become a daily occurrence for Taiho it seems. Ever since his bow out of the Chuunin Exams, he had either been fighting, training or resting to fight some more. It was a welcome change from the rather lackadaisical lead up to the Chuunin Exams themselves. Now that he thought about it, he probably should’ve trained a bit more before heading into said tests, but that didn’t matter anymore. He had promoted and had been entrusted with more responsibilities, even if he had gotten disqualified because of his mental instability. He understood that he would have to get it under wraps eventually. The higher ups in Iwa would not appreciate a dull or uncontrollable blade. He was practically skating on thin ice if he didn’t get his shit together.

Stepping out into the mid winter day, he grimaced at the sun that attempted to accost his face with its presence. It was still far too early in his opinion, but a fight was a fight. He couldn’t just turn one down even if he wanted to get a few more hours of sleep. It wouldn’t take him long to reach the grounds, his body limbering up as he moved. He would often slap himself in the face to knock away the crust and the sleep, his actions psyching him up into a frenzy that would only be matched by the fight he was going to undertake. By time he had reached the ring itself, he was ready to face pretty much any challenger, his mind in full focus and belief that there just wasn’t anything out there that could stop him.

He ignored the first fight that was going on upon his arrival, the details and participants were nameless mooks as far as he was concerned, their styles not even worth observing for future reference. The two would take their sweet time however, dragging out what was essentially a spar into something tantamount of a epic slugfest. It drained his patience and eagerness to fight the longer it went on, but thankfully this was only but for a few short minutes before the judge finally called the match and both fighters proceeded to exit the stage. Taiho would shoot both a rather dull look, patience worn thin with such lackluster entertainment. Stepping into the ring himself, he’d limber himself up again by bouncing on the balls of his feet. He still did not consider himself truly ready so soon after the exams, but more data was necessary to determine just how much he needed to improve.

Glancing over at his opponent, the young nin had apparently also participated in the exams, on a separate bracket all together, but he was there. Apparently a wielder of fire if the videos were any indication. It still amazed him that the elements could be wielded in such a way in these lands. Back home they were more utilized in each warriors weaponry, but here. They wielded them like gods. This knowledge excited him, he would learn their secrets, and grow stronger in the process.

A smile crossed his face as he and his opponent were introduced. His hands clenching as he spread his legs about a shoulder width apart. His eyes dulling as his mind began to race. His blood was pumping. His excitement was growing. It was time to put his training to the test.

The crowd would erupt again as his opponent enters the ring. A familiar face at this point, having gone on two missions together, Teiho bounces on the balls of his feet for a few moments before coming into the arena. He seemed plenty amped for the fight ahead which was perfect for Kennosuke. This fight would be fun no matter the outcome. It felt good to stand here, before the crowd. He always knew he enjoyed fighting, but hearing the cheers of the crowd made him feel even more excitement. He cracks his neck from side to side and grins toward Teiho. The proctor steps between them and looks at both of them.

“You both know the rules. This is my last fight for the day guys. Let’s get it over with, yeah?” The proctor says lazily before leaping backwards out of the way of the pair and leaning against the wall of the arena, seeming to only half pay attention the the two Chuunin before him. Kennosuke’s body was like a tightly wound spring. Combat was what he lived for and he could already begin to blood pump through his veins. Granted, Kennosuke hadn’t actually participated in any of his Exam matches so he didn’t actually know what rules the Tokujō proctor had spoken about so for now he would play it cool and let Teiho lead off, as he had actually fought and did well in the Exams.

“Well Teiho, We meet again it seems. Only now we get to test each other here in the arena. Should be fun, yeah?” He says to the Iwagakure Shinobi. He maintained his at ease posture, thumbs tucked into his belt. His eyes watched Teiho intently, his body ready to react, waiting for any indication on what would happen next. His mind was calm, as normal for him in the moments before combat. He would savor this experience, as fighting before a crowd was something he wasn’t used to and after the Exams closed, would be something he likely wouldn't get to do again.
