A man stood before Jamie as he saw fire everywhere, the man did not say a word and he could not move a muscle as the entire village was burning in flames. As Jamie managed to turn and look away he began to see a river flowing wildly as people with strange eyes gathered around his friend Airi, he tried to move as he got his feet to take step after step as he made his dash to stop them as she looked back to him and smiled. He did not understand any of it as he finally woke up.

Jamie had a nightmare as he coughed up water and turned to his side slightly as he had ended up on the calmer shallows much further down the Naka river. He did not know what happened as he could more or less make out his face in the river. His hair was red with blood soaking into his red strands of hair giving them a more crimson appearance. His head was in pain as he tried to stay up he crawled closer to the river bank before passing out again as he fell on his side before rolling onto his back as the sun burned down upon his face as his hair covered over his eyes a bit as the wetness rolled down his cheeks.

The poor defenseless boy who had been lost in his thoughts after the death of an enemy, who trained to become stronger only to find he had hit a brick wall. He did not understand any of it as he wondered what he would have to do, he was lost at heart and lost in mind as the water crashed on his head and shoulders flowing through his arms and feet as the coolness would refresh his body while his mind was still lost at sea.

'Today had been an interesting day.‘

Hanbei was taking some time off from the tournament that she had opted to be a part of, thinking that being away from the Uchiha clan after she had defeated her intended's favorite student in such a definitive manner... The look on the mans' face was not something that Hanbei had expected and it had chilled her to the bone, the thought of that look of disgust plastered across his face like she had delivered him an insult was not exactly the way to begin a relationship with the father of your potential bride to be. However, as the sun rose in the morning, birds and spirits came out within the deep forests of konohagakure. There was a serenity in this nation that spoke to Hanbei, even Daji was beginning to look a little calmer in more recent days, though, the Guanyin girl could not help but think that she might be mistaking peace for boredom in this particular case... looking over her shoulder to see the white fox tormenting a smaller creature before drawing her claws, slitting its stomach and drawing out its innards with an almost delectable mirth...

'There's something wrong with that fox...'

Hanbei would think to herself, although, as she did so, there was a small disturbance in the area around them. The spirits of the trees, the kodama, had become uneasy. Copper and carbon blew on the wind fluttering around Hanbei as if the world were giving Hanbei a sealed envelop. Closing her eyes she could feel the kami on the wind calling her to follow. Looking back to Daji, Hanbei thought it best to leaver her here, if there was trouble on the horizon she didn't like the idea that the murderous fox would likely exacerbate the situation with her... less desirable tendencies when it came to sewing chaos and discord wherever she saw fit. So, it was with the quickest of intentions that Hanbei, with the simple act of the body flicker technique would be guided by the divine will of Konoha's living forest. The trees almost seemed to open for her as she stormed through her path, tracking and tracing her way through them before ultimately arriving at a stream. There at the lake, Kappa were standing and looking down at their river, as blood, human blood seemed to be rolling down it.

"Whats this...?"

Hanbei whispered as several of the creatures turned, angered looks on their faces as they, as well as several small tadpole like beings were also clustered in what little parts of the pure water remained, though, the blood seemed to be closing in on them bit by but. Looking at the Kappa, Hanbei simply asked them for the mean time to take the creatures into their bowls, which, begrudgingly, they did to spare the innocence of the child like water gods. However, it seemed that within the lake, a water tiger was enjoying the taste of the crimson river. Not wanting to get in its way, knowing that such a beast would be almost more than even Hanbei would be able to handle, she looked up river... something catastrophic had happened, and it was time to get to the bottom of it all.

Running up stream, it wasn't long before Hanbei would come across what looked to be an unconscious boddy at the side of the stream, grinding to a halt and panting as she did so, it seemed that in the distance a pillar of smoke rose up like a beacon. A warning signal that Hanbei was sure that the village ninja would be able to pick up on, surely. Jonin by now were on their way, so, without further adieu, kneeling before her, she would immediately activate her medical sight to determine the inguries of her patient, plucking several of her needles out from her porcupine mantle and running a small electrical current through them to disinfect them with a light puff of dust... It seemed the boy had some damage to him, but as of right now, Hanbei was not able to tell where, so, sliding in a couple of needles to key acupuncture points in the neck, she would totally paralyze the boy from the neck down to avoid him jerking around while hanbei worked. Following to place more needles across his body to slow some of his biological processes, preserving them and slowing his hear-rate to avoid shock, tachycardia and several other potential conditions.

Now, came triage, as the dutiful medical ninja would assess exactly what was wrong with the boy, placing one of her radiant pulse needles nearby to begin to wear off any light wounds but especially fatigue and exhaustion that could likely be his killers at this point, re-energizing his body, kicking his cell processes back into tenth gear as those neural pathways would begin to become active again, feeding the body everything it needed to begin its recovery... Though it was likely that the needle would likely give him a jolt back to the world of the living, similar to pumping him full of a slow acting adrenaline, it would be a gradual, but definite process... But at least that would allow Hanbei to begin to ask a couple of questions...

How long had Jamie been asleep for, how long had he been left on his own. Where was his mother Ashi and what had Shippo been doing now, did they even care that he was gone as his mind did not know where he was. He had not awoken as he stayed deep within the endless dream, from which he may never awake as angelic butterflies flew off into the dark foggy mists of his faded memories. Jamie began to see the old lady as his eyes began filling with tears in his dreams, he did not know what was going on as she just stood there smiling he was walking towards her in the density of the mists that began to soak with blood. He began to feel fear and terror at the sight as he began to run towards her as fast as he could, yet no matter how fast he ran or how much he tried he could not get closer to her.

Jamie felt a sharp sting and some electricity as in his dream it became a thunderstorm as the lightning struck him down as he cried out. His lips moved drowned out by the sound of heavy rains rushing like a river flowing against his ears as the words did not escape his lips. Then just as the lightning had come, the dream entered a state of calm as Jamie felt the soft feel of grass and no pain at all anymore as he began to wonder what was going on as his memories became flustered by all that was and all that would be.

This did not last too long as he saw her in the grass fields, a woman dressed in a beautiful cloudy kimono as he began to feel this strange feeling deep down. A slight pull towards the world of the living as he coughed up just a little bit more water and opened his eyes slowly as all he could see was a strange lady.

Her hair was as beautiful as the white snow he had only seen in fairy tales as her gentle appearance was calming in a soothing sense. His eyes were wet with the tears that flowed during his dream, as he looked into her strangely mysterious and beautiful eyes as he spoke softly. "You have pretty eyes" as he said that he still felt weak as his eyes began closing again as he had lost quite a bit of blood, he may need more fluids and at the very least he was stable now thanks to her needlework skills. He was breathing more easily now and his heart was now moving at a more gentle pace.

He would sit up later after resting for a while longer as his body began to feel the strange surge that was like adrenaline forcing him to awaken from his slumber. Who was this girl who saved him and what was going on is the only thoughts that were running through his broken mind right now as some memories began to rush towards him again.

'The softly spoken words tore the silence.‘

Hanbei could not help but look down and smile warmly, ushering a soft word of encouragement and running a hand through the young boys' hair as she would finally begin to well up chakra in the form of a small chakra needle, placing it to the childs' chest she would make him and his system more susceptible to the next medical technique that he was afflicted by, as well as empowering the next medical technique that she cast. The Hyper immunal dampener needle would sink into his skin, and the boy would not feel a thing, but his body and his immune system would become more open and accommodating to Hanbei's chakra, no longer viewing it as a hostile entity and in effect making him 'weak' to medical skills, at least until his body saw what it was doing wrong and corrected the issue. Meanwhile, Hanbei's body was undergoing a small transformation itself, her virulent adaptability technique had begun to flow his stem cell chakra throughout her own body, there it would lay, ready and waiting as Hanbei would finally move to recover her patient before her in a single stroke.

'Time for me to shine again...'

Hanbei would finally begin to flow chakra into her right hand, the brilliant blue needle of the Guanyin Healing technique expanding as the stem cell chakra in hanbei's own body from virulent adaptability would course into it, filling its gaps and perfecting the skill as high as it could be within Hanbei's on skill level. Then, placing the blue needle to the skin of the child, there would be a warm sensation as a pulse of stem cell chakra would flow throughout his entire body, the chakra itself reading his DNA and restructuring itself into the things that his body was missing, flesh, blood, bone. Even his scarring would begin to fade and vanish as the power of the technique would borderline on the most powerful variants of the technique used by the Guanyin clan. Within a few moments, the child would be in almost perfect condition, with the energy afforded to him by the healing pulse needle, Hanbei would lean back panting, tired from the exertion. But removing the acupuncture needles to allow the child to move so they could sit up after the surge of healing chakra.

"Well, i think that went well, you should begin to feel stronger, though the pulse needle is still working its magic, so, try not to move too quickly or get up to much. Just take it easy, and maybe, explain what happened. I don't mean to alarm you, but the river here is literally running red, and it has the forest in a bit of a stir."

Hanbei would look to the side, as she could see the strange and misformed creatures of the forest peaking out from the trees before recoiling in case they would be seen by anything else... What really worried Hanbei was that a water tiger (Suiko) had come to konoha, that would need to be dealt with, least many ninja or innocent people be killed by it over the course of the coming months while the blood in the river would no doubt run out. Hanbei's violet and ringed eyes would look worriedly as the pulse needle was beginning to recover Her own stamina from casting the jutsu in such rapid succession, the feeling was good, warm, and soothing...

But it was time for answers.

Jamie thought he felt something sharp hit his chest as he was asleep again, it was like he was having his body invaded with this strangely calming feeling as he began to wonder what he was thinking about to end up here. He began to ask himself if he was in heaven, even though she had skill with the use of medical techniques she may have already noticed that his body was not really accommodating to it. However the medical shinobi endured and used her skills to carefully get through this challenge set before her.

How many months had it been since Jamie first arrived in this village of leaves. He had been allowed entry under minor watch as they knew little about him, as time went by he hung out with other wanderers and scavenged bread and minor foods as he learned to survive without his former guardian. He had managed to meet several individuals and eventually met Inazuka Shippo whose rather over the top mother adopted him into their family. He was weak among the clan as he was an outsider who did not even have a pet of his own. It felt strange as the one scar he had long since had was gone as he felt like something had been taken away as his mind felt different as there were memories which began to flow back to him, memories he had long since forgotten and things he had not noticed before. The fantasy of his dream like memories would soon change to memories of a dark reality he never understood before.

He felt awake as he began to blink and open his flickering eyelids as he sat up he saw the beautiful girl as his mind may be fixed it had too many things swarming around like crazy. He sat up slowly and carefully as he then stopped moving hearing her voice he behaved himself as he was rather calm right now even if his mind was in chaos. He breathed slowly as she asked him what happened as he took another deep breathe before he would start to speak.

"I was meditating and lost focus when thinking of something..." as he stopped for a slight pause as he looked up deep in thought on what happened next as he was being polite and replying to the girl who helped him. "The water got really high all of a sudden and the water took me down..." as he paused again for a much shorter time before following up with his next reply. "I hit my rock against a head" as he began to think on what he said, "I mean hit my head against a rock, and then I met you" as his mind was still a bit blurry on the rest as he was half dreaming for the rest of the time as his eyes blinked a bit more as he looked down. He felt rather defenseless, but she helped so she was probably not an enemy is what he hoped for. A part of him felt scared though as he quickly browsed her for weapons and only noticed needles, a lot of needles. He began to wonder if she did a lot of needlework and could make him a new shirt to wear as he tilted his head out of curiosity as he was waiting for her to speak.

'Really? That was it?‘

Hanbei felt a little concerned about the whole thing, some random kid bumping his head in the woods and almost drowning, but, you never knew with people these days. Hanbei was just glad that the kid was okay for the most part. So, giving him a smile that was on the softer side, Hanbei would allow the pulse needle to fade away as the colour had returned to his cheeks and his circulation seemed to have no more issues. So, her eyes using the medical sensory technique would also stop pulsing with the active chakra of that technique also. Taking in a deep breath and looking around, it seemed that the fires in the distance were little more than a small fire, likely caused from ninja for one reason or another, but they seemed to be under control. Hanbei had to remember that not all things in this world were indeed connected, but, the forest didn't necessarily know that. Looking to the Kodama along the tree-line that Hanbei knew were watching, she couldn't help but give them an exasperated look.

"well, you're fine now, so, please, next time you're meditating, do it away from a water source. Kids like you should be practicing your internal and external chakra control, not be getting into extreme body and mind conditioning. Whatever under-a-waterfall training that you were doing that could get you swept away should probably be left until you get a little more experienced. ok? Now, do you need me to help you to get back to Konoha, or are your parents nearby?"

Hanbei would more or less offer, not wanting to press too much into the issues of the kid and what he was up to, other than to give him a little more of that advice, from the look of his body, he would be no older than say 11-13. His bones still had a lot of cartilage on them, meaning they had barely formed all that much, similar to Hanbei's own though hers would only now be the uppermost layers around the middle of her bones with cartilage to either end. It was an easy tell for age, as unless you had been kicking banana palms all day causing micro-fractures like some of the more aspiring taijutsu users, it was more or less the same for everyone.

"So, what's your name?"

The girl told the young Jamie that he was fine now and that he should meditate away from a water source. As she told him to focus more on controlling his inner and external chakra then to do conditioning for his body and mind to the extreme. As she mentioned the ideals of inner and external chakra there was something strange that Jamie had felt, it was something he felt before but had long since forgotten. Her healing abilities were really good as he wondered what happened to the scar he had on his arm before and he felt like something changed deep down inside, as the truth seemed to be hitting him against his head with a pounding and shudder.

As she asked for his name he opened his mouth no sound came out. Whether Hanbei had the skills to notice it or not, the reason the animals had acted so strangely was clearly due to her awakening something that had laid dormant deep within Jamie's heart as he started struggling to breathe as his eyes began to lose focus. The wind itself began to swirl around aimlessly and then more fervently as the air pressure rose from the heat. His body seemed to be getting hurt by something from the outside going in as the chakra found within nature began to seep into his body as he began shivering a bit. She may not have understood what was going on, but she was hopefully skilled enough to tell that something else was wrong. Little did she know that a part of this was her fault, for she healed something that should not have been healed as the sage like chakra that began forcing its way into his body began to make his head pain like it had been struck with a thousand needles.

Jamie began to think back on things from the past as his mind seemed to drift to an image he never knew before.

*************************Memories before Jamie********************************

The world around Jamie seemed to look so hazy as the weather made a turn for the worst. The winds were like a gale force shower as he felt the heat of the rising storm as he pushed forward. He did not know why he was moving forward or where he was going as a woman then picked him up and whispered. "We have to hurry now, Mika" as he was being carried like a little princess towards a merchant wagon as he wondered who Mika was and what he was doing. They finally arrived as the old lady who was selling the fish could not be made out as the silhouette of her figure was familiar to Jamie. The lady took two of the fishes and thanked the old lady as a sound was heard.

A thundering explosion as the animals scattered, the lady dropped the fish and tossed Jamie to the old lady. The woman began to run and the old lady put him inside the merchant wagon and let him eat the fish there as he behaved himself. The fish was really tasty and he was not sure what was going on as the old lady pushed the wagon into the forest. However bandits appeared, far too many for her to handle as she took the child in her arms and made a run for it. He was too innocent to understand what was going on as the merchants goods were stolen by bandits, as the woman who carried him before mentioned a Mika-chan as it made no sense at all.

The weather shifted as the winds were harsh and the sun was burning hot as the winds like a burning flame etched deep inside the wounds of the old lady's heart. When they finally managed to return to the village that the old lady had come to trade in, it was turned to dust and rubble. The entire place was scorched as she looked to the child who had fallen asleep, she never even knew his name as she looked around to find no survivors, she then held up the small boy and spoke to him.

"From this day forward, your name shall be Jamie" as a cat looked towards Jamie as he finally escaped the dream.

******************************Nature's Wrath************************************

He collapsed onto all fours breathing heavily as he coughed up a bit of blood and said, "My name is Jamie" as he tilted slightly barely hanging onto his consciousness as he was caught between reality and a dream. His heart was racing as his body was changing, for a moment it seemed like Jamie's hair grew a little bit longer, but in truth for a moment it appeared like he had two small cat ears on his head. "Please, help me" as he felt the pain was worse then before as the chakra was forcing its way in like he was being stabbed by hundreds of shinobi.

'What came next, Hanbei didn't expect.‘

Hanbei had seen the cat ears from the medical sight, there had been stranger things for sure that she had come across in the years she had been a ninja, and, considering she had become friends with the Inuzuka clan, if there could be ninja dog people, what's so strange about ninja cat people? However, something within seemed to change, without the medical sight available now Hanbei wasn't able to diagnose him on the spot, though, looking at him it seemed to be painful. Crouching down beside him Hanbei would immediately have needles in hand and come down to Jamie's level, pressing a needle to the side of his neck which would suddenly and drastically lower the amount of pain within an instant, having pinched one of his nerves to the point the impulses would refract through the needles instead of his body, but not cutting off the feed entirely. Though, any pain that Jamie was suffering from that point up would still be present.

'Why did hanbei always have the hard days?'

Observing the boy, it looked as though something had genetically catalyzed, as there was nothing structurally wrong with him before, or Hanbei would have seen it with his medical sight, but hanbei was beginning to see a couple of contusions here and there, like his body was rejecting or fighting against something, or perhaps, fighting for something to happen. Then, almost on cue, Daji would appear to the cry of suffering at the boys' metamorphosis. "Oh my, that looks painful, what do we have here? Some form of transmorphism it seems... You may just have to let it wait its course, your needles often work with things on the genetic level and it seems your stem cell chakra has regenerated something that may have been suppressed in his code... well done hanbei, you've created a monster. hmhmhm~"

Hanbei would scowl "Is now really the time for that Daji? But, if what you're saying is true, then, the only thing we can do is wait for the chakra to finish doing what it's doing. Any extremities should be finished forming soon, though I've never seen something like this before... However, if it's my chakra that's doing this, there is an easy solution, cut it off... but with making him so prone to the technique, i don't know if i can cut it off directly without doing them some real physical harm with the electromagnetic technique. But..."

Hanbei would channel some chakra for the moment, before concentrating and letting out a pulse of chakra interception that would flicker Jamie's system negating all the chakra within his system and everything around hanbei before moving to comfort him as the effects of his chakra would wear off, likely ending much of the pain, but with the growths of the ears and what appeared to be a tail. There had been some changes.

Jamie began to feel a sharp pain as something began rushing into him, was it just nature itself or was it emotions long since forgotten. This was when it would begin, the day that Jamie would not longer be Jamie anymore.

******************************Memories*************************

"Miku, where are you Miku?" as a small little kitty opened their eyes and began running towards a familiar woman. She embraced her little kitten in her arms as the cat found something to be strange, as a much larger cat stood next to her and nuzzled with the woman and said. "Isn't our child the cutest?" as the woman sighed before bonking the large cat on the head. "You know he is going to end up like me right?" as the woman looked to the side something was different. Something the child saw as being natural, something that the child did not have yet that made him different from all the others. The boy reached out pulling on her cat like ears as she swayed her tail from side to side before telling him nicely. "Stop pulling Miku", as the boy looked a bit confused as he tilted his head for a moment before pulling hard on her ear. Tempted to simply berate her own child she punched the cat next to her so hard that it startled the young kitten who was still a boy. He let go of her ear as he looked down bashfully and shamefully as she petted him on the head he smiled for her oh so gently.

As time passed he was teased by the others who had gained their ears and tails before him as he felt all alone as he then met another kitten just like him. The voice said a name that he could not hear as they smiled and went on happily as they played, however a month passed before that day came as a wild beast ran wild in the forest. "Miku!!" as the woman cried out as the giant cat she rode on ran out frantically and also called out. "Miku!!!" as the storm winds blew and the lightning struck as they were at the fore front of a storm as the wild beast attacked. The truth was not as clear as they thought it would be as the one who brought forth their destruction was a one eyed beast with a scar on its chest. "Mitsuo-sama, please save us!" as some of the elderly began praying while some of the other Elder Cats and Cat Ladies prepared to defend the land as the others began to retreat.

"Miku!! Get away from there!" as they found their child standing before the beast waving nicely as the beast prepared to attack the giant cat dropped the woman who did not care as she shouted out again. "Miku....!!!!" as the beast devoured her husband, she felt that cat was the best husband as she managed to grab her child and ran, it was for this reason she would seek out the old lady who had always been a good merchant to them. This was why they had to leave, this was not the first time and would not be the last time as she hoped one day things would change as the child did not understand any of it, until he realized something as he cried out for the Giant Cat before crying out loud and the number of days that passed was unclear.

*****************************Evolution*****************************

Tears were flowing down Jamie's cheeks as his chakra flow was not able to stabilize properly as it continued to enter into chaos. After sometime another chakra entered as the two clashed, the nature that had been flowing in was being forcefully cut off by another chakra, with three chakra's clashing and diffusing the sudden shock sent a sharp pain to Jamie as he began to scream out as his teeth looked sharper even though they weren't.

"AaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhH!!!!!!!!!!!!" as the raging torret of a swirling storm of chakra had reacted as his eyes opened wide, however there was no focus to them since he was not sure what was going on as for a moment he could hear animals in the distance, he could hear wild animals and people and heart beats as he began to wonder what was going on as he had a sensory over load. His heart beat became loud, his feelings were intensified to the max that he could even perceive as his mind was lost in the pain that was the beginning of his new form. He felt like his ears were in the wrong place and he felt something pushing out awkwardly as it thrust beneath him popping out to the side flailing in pain as he felt a new sensation he never knew before. However soon his body would calm down and that was when she would comfort him as the changes had come something had stayed with Jamie before the ears seemed to tuck back into his tuft of hair and his tail pulled itself back in. She had started something that could not be undone as whatever happened would potentially happen again once he recovers his chakra if she did not figure out the reasons why.

'Things didn't appear to be working as well as Hanbei would have hoped...‘

Hanbei could not help the child deal with the pain, the acupuncture wasn't working, what was happening seemed to be an internal function. Jamies body was making drastic anatomical changes and it was putting the boy through hell. There was only one thing left for Hanbei to do at this point, though it was far from glamorous from the perspective of a medic, reaching down and pinching on a pressure point on the side of the boy's neck he would cut bloodflow to his brain for a moment, the longer he would press the pain would drain from his body, more powerful and muting than any antipain medication as Hanbei's entire aim was to knock him unconscious allowing the transformation to take its course. Once Jamie was out, Hanbei would pick him up and begin to carry him on her back, using the body flicker technique to race back to konohagakure. Ducking and weaving past all the trees that were in the way as the world would pass by, literally nothing more than a blurred canvas sprawled out around her eyes as she loaded her precious cargo.

'Hopefully nothing worse would happen.'

It wouldn't take a long time for Hanbei to have dropped Jamie off at the konoha hospital, apparently this kind of transformation was exceedingly rare, though not unheard of, putting the boy on a drip and getting him a bed, Jamie would be well looked after in the mean time allowing Hanbei to return to the uchiha compound, depending on his recovery, Hanbei thought that he might come back at a later time to see how he had come along with his treatment, but, depending on how this tournament went, she couldn't see herself staying in konoha for much longer, there were places that she needed to go and people that she needed to see. Asira amongst them... Looking back at the hospital, Daji would jump out of a nearby bush, having finally caught up with hanbei herself. Looking up to her and asking what the plan was now.

"Well, I guess we go back to the compound and see if we can win the next round right?" Hanbei would say with some confidence. Daji licked her lips with the idea of more blood spilled in the arena.

And so the next day would come.
