Sero would stare with a cold gaze. Careful to control his breathing as he lurked beneath the surface. His Sword now held in both hands at it rested at an angle. The tip towards the ground. His breath was a little more difficult now. His vision was still sharp but there were moments when the edges would begin to blur out. He could tell that even though he had slowed the progress of the bleed out it was still not stopped. He could tell his body required more time to move now if only by a little. Everything was a little heavier. They had taken him by surprise which not many had in the past. Perhaps he had been too confident in his own ability. Nozomi was still preparing closer to the mark where they would all have to meet. His weakened body would make fighting her all that much more difficult. However for now they were keeping their distance and respecting his wishes. This Hanbei was his target. He had yet to sink his fangs in so he would need to change the hunt up. If he had his bow this might have been more in his favor. Still he was aware of one thing.

If He could see them, he had to assume they could see him.

So it wasn't of surprise to him when the target collected more Senbon into their hands. Aiming for him with the first volley. Once more with precise aim and in general at four points on his form. If he moved his head to one side or the other it would still claim an eye. Instead he would shift the handle of his sword. The blade shifting to cover his legs while the guard covered his eyes. With the added support of the ground he was able to hold it one handed as he did so. The senbon clanging off the thick blade. It seemed ever heavier. However his free hand collected his Wakizashi from its sheath and cut the straps to his Halberd. Just in time to bring it back as he shifted to the side. The senbon bouncing off his great blade around his thighs again though his Wakizashi flashed out to knock the other two off course. One catching his cheek ever so slightly. Creating a small bleeding cut just beneath his right cheekbone. This individual had taken a great deal of time attacking from a distance. It was time to retaliate.

There was a stillness in the air as Hanbei landed only five meters away. Like something terrible was coming and nothing dared move. They were far from wrong but Sero knew that due to blood loss he was going to be slightly slower than the other with a heavier weapon. He needed to make contact with it once and if they tried to block with that Tanto they were going to take a hard hit. The blade designed to simply crush through light weapons. He would grit his teeth and make up his mind in the second he had. He was going to need to gamble here but with a purpose. For a moment the tree's were Sero was sat still with only a slight stir within. The smell of fresh blood from his cheek suggesting Hanbei had done considerable damage again. However from the stillness suddenly a Wakizashi flew in a straight line like a kunai. Flying through the air right for Hanbei's face. Easy enough to dodge or parry. However it was followed quickly with a sudden and larger object flying slightly lower than it. Aimed for whatever way Hanbei's muscles had tensed to move. A wakizashi was flying for their face and a halberd straight for their torso only slightly to one direction if their body began to shift. However there was a burst as the form Of Sero launched in the direction the targets body reacted to with the halberd. Herding them and directing them with their own survival instincts. With that done Sero was flying straight for them and his Sword would come crashing in an upwards arc towards Hanbei. Aiming to catch them in a full cut from Waist to opposing shoulder.

'How does one win a war?‘

A wise man would say that only a fool goes to war, hoping to win, a true warrior won and then went to war. It was a koan that implied that battles were won in the mind long before they were won in combat. Sero was ready, both in mind and in body, but in being ready for battle, whether he had intended to or not, there had been a sum of underestimation at the beginning of this battle. Not because he thought any less of the Kumogakure ninja than he should have, but to prioritize combat with a close range fighter, thinking that the threat you knew was the one that was worth focusing on. Sero had known Nozomi's tactics, they knew one another, and yet he had still anchored himself into combat with her, rather than dealing with the sniper off the bat. This had allowed a crucial impact to happen, this had set events in motion from the beginning leading to this inevitable conclusion. Whether or not Hanbei was able to execute this battle coming to its end in her favor however, was something she had yet to come to realize for herself.

Hanbei could remember training with Kanbei, learning to sew impossibly high quality silks together, repairing garments that had been thrown out from the Daimyo's because they had been ripped and torn. Repairing fabrics of that thread count with the finest silks money could buy was a feat in of itself that he had grown to have to deal with... it wasn't until he had to stitch a nerve together for the first time that she had realized she had been training... Nerves were so thick, Hanbei's hands moved deftly stitching them together. Looping down and reconnecting tendons as if they were nothing. Like a professional sharpshooter going back to shoot fruit perched up on the back fence, after he'd been to war, there was just no comparison in difficulty. In turn, Hanbei now knew what it was like to face down monsters, terrifying beasts, for two years he had been chained to a chair and tortured to unconsciousness only to relive that waking nightmare over and over again.

'Now before him stood another.'

It would be foolish to claim that Hanbei wasn't afraid, she was a child, he was a giant in comparison wielding a weapon larger than herself with the skill and ferocity of a legendary ninja. But Hanbei had also fought opponents with a higher skill gap than this... defeating Shibirin in combat before his bear rushed to his aid had happened when she was but a Genin, now she was a special Jounin, and her opponent a Sanin at least. That gap had been closed. So, shaking in his boots, adrenaline pumping thickly through the chemical channels of her frame, Hanbei had landed and risen before a monster, fire in her eyes as she would look upon him for a flickering moment as he burst into action, tanto down to one side as she would begin to strafe to the left from the thrown Wakizashi moments before it had left Sero's hand.

'It was time for action.'

As the weapon shot in Hanbei's direction Hanbei would raise her Tanto up in a diagonal angle, moving to swat the Tanto away, however, moments before the parry came, the next attack could be seen on the horizon, the Fang tian squared with Hanbei's right moving momentum and thrown. Parrying the Wakizashi Hanbei would use the static pressure and Sero's strength to riccoshet her spinning to the left instead, altering her movement off the thrown weapon while the Halberd was in flight, rolling narrowly past it as one of the spikes tore through the loose fabric of Hanbei's silk clothing, narrowly missing the girls' alabaster skin as she would lurch towards the advancing sero who, in a valiant strike with his great-sword, would bring it up for Hanbei in an upward slash. to cleave through Hanbei's mid-section, hewing her in twain.

Sero needed two hands for the strike, and he was more or less already locked into his momentum for the blow, keeping her head down, rather than attempt to avoid the blow or stand still to receive it where he had aimed for, Hanbei would lower the Tanto to block it, charging forward with everything she had, passing the apex of the swipe and catching it to aside as the Tanto would grind up the length of the weapon, sending cracks up it and violating the Tantos' structural integrity, but, none-the-less, preventing the blow... and allowing Hanbei to get in the inside of his guard, both of Sero's hands were to the left of himself, opening up his entire right hand side for attack as his two handed weapon had been pinned to a side. Normally, the thought of doing this would be impossible, but it was the nature of this place to make the two of them even...

It would be too late for Sero at this point to hope to recoil one of his arms fast enough to pull back, aim a blow and thrust it in Hanbei's direction with enough force to alter his action, and his movement had been hampered by the leg wound would make out-running or side-stepping what came next from little more than a couple feet away functionally impossible as wielding a heavy great-sword with speed was already so high strain on one's grounded legs. So, it would be with all of the force of Hanbei's charge, unimpeded that she would attempt to drop her right shoulder and charge him point blank into his liver and diaphragm, pointing her elbow as she did so across his stomach long-ways beyond and beneath that armored coat, a method that would seem to hope to knock him back, gain some distance and knock the wind out of him... Even at the cost of her wrists, as the bruises formed, she was Ready... And waiting for the moment before it looked like her impact would connect...

Nozomi

And so, the fight kicked off perfectly, the tension in the air almost recoiling as Hanbei and Sero engaged each other. The Wakizashi flew forward, and was parried, knocked away towards Nozomi herself. Hanbei slithered past the Halberd that was also thrown, narrowly avoiding any damage from it. As the fires moved ever closer, dancing around and tightening, Nozomi finally made her choice to join the fray. Hanbei and Sero had had enough time to themselves, and Nozomi was getting antsy.

Hanbei moved forward, clashing with Sero, her eyes having finally left Nozomi. There had been moments that she had continued to watch Nozomi, and Sero had been doing the same. However, they both chose to dedicate to a single fight ending attack, or at least a small exchange that would end their match. And in doing so, Nozomi was left out of their attention. And that was a mistake that would be capitalized on.

Nozomi was a terrifying fighter for most to go against, and that had been before her training as a Hunter-nin. However, she wasn't just skilled in single combat, martial combat and the like. Her Hunter-nin training had given her further training in those regards, but also helped her hone more subtle forms of combat. And one of those was silent assassinations. Taking advantage of an opponent who was distracted, or who was unaware of the danger she posed.

Of course, she'd developed some techniques herself to assassinate people, however, those relied on chakra. Against chakraless beings though, even ones such as these, her assassination skills were adequate. Now utilizing the senbon that she had picked up, the same ones that Hanbei had launched at Sero previously, Nozomi launched them with practiced ease towards the two opponents.

Sero had been bleeding for long enough at this point that Nozomi knew he would be competently weakened, and that she didn't need to focus on him nearly as much. However, Hanbei had been left mostly unscathed throughout the entire tournament. It was her that Nozomi would focus on, not allowing herself to register the slight twinge of guilt she had for attacking her. This was a competition of course. It was both of their fault for lowering their guard against Nozomi, allowing her to utilize her skill set properly.

Several senbon scattered through the air, moving at high speeds towards Hanbei's form. 4 had been aimed towards Hanbei's head, one having been aimed at his temple, one at his eye, one towards the exposed ear, and one at neck level, towards her carotid artery. Hanbei had a side profile, so Nozomi couldn't space them out as she would like better. Multiple senbon had launched towards her torso, clustered towards the lower region, avoiding the ribcage. Nozomi's real aim was to hit the organs that weren't protected by ribs. The majority of her needles however, had been shot lower, with a larger spread, in order to hit a wider margin rather than targetted shots that might miss. Her hope was to pincushion Hanbei's legs.

Of course, she didn't fully ignore Sero. Sliding forward, having launched all of the senbon towards Hanbei, Nozomi grabbed the still falling Wakizashi out of the air, moving with a quick spin to gather the momentum to launch the blade back towards Sero's stomach. Beyond that, some of the senbon that had been aimed to hit Hanbei's legs had also enough spread that they may hit Sero as well. It would be nearly impossible with the way they had attacked each other for them to disengage and not have taken damage.

The end goal was to cause enough damage to the two of them that they would find moving to be quite difficult. And soon the dancing fire would overtake them afterwards, draining their chakra as they had when they had first appeared. Even should they be able to move after, it would be having sustained injuries that Nozomi hadn't. A small smirk appeared on the girl's face. A lot had happened in the span of a few moments.

Sero watched the clash as Hanbei charged into him. The Tanto coming up to block his swing as it sparked and cracks came up the length of the Tanto. He could feel his lack of power he usually had. Not in the sense that he could feel it physically but the encounter didn't work the way it should have. The tanto should have shattered like glass and his follow through would have hew the child in front of him into two beings. His grey eyes narrowed as he grit his teeth. The weapon the opponent was holding was no longer a threat. It would shatter if it attempted to cut into his cloak. Perhaps he would even need to buy Nozomi a new one but she had risked it against him. However the moment he realized he could not follow through with his slash and the individual was moving under its path his left hand released. It was true he didn't have enough time to reach back and counter. However his hand wasn't going to reach back but instead release the sword entirely and follow the momentum of the swing. The pale hand of the hunter falling upon the back of the head of his attacker.

Hanbei had gambled throwing their weight forward due to his wounded leg. However Sero was not averse to balance. Almost every weapon style required it. Hanbei's center of gravity was low and forward. Had Hanbei been already in an upward movement he might have had a difficult time. However As it was Sero simply pushed his weight down on his hand as it made contact and moved himself upwards. Forcing Hanbei face first if this succeeded towards the ground. The released sword falling from above him and behind. The weight of it the only thing driving it down but it was edge first. Like a Guillotine of gravity and position. However he had barely begun to move the head down when three senbon shot across his hand. Slicing across the top of his wrist, the top of his hand and across his middle fingers middle knuckle. Drawing his attention as his left hand was bloodied to Nozomi approaching from the side. He would use his strength to lift his feet the rest of the way off the ground and launch backwards in the direction of the center to avoid the Wakizashi. Having caught on with the Senbon in time to react to what would have been another serious wound. However that would put all of his weight on Hanbei. Before suddenly releasing and letting himself surge backwards.

With any luck his downwards force would Slam Hanbei into the ground and the blade would fall upon their back. Already the flames had overtaken his Halberd in the distance. Still his feet didn't catch right as he stumbled back and judged the position of his enemies. Nozomi's charge would have brought her on top of Hanbei hopefully in an awkward position and now mostly unarmed by all appearances. Perfect for taijutsu. It would be their turn to engage in close combat. However the flames would be on them in moments. If they continued not to engage each other and came for him they would likely overtake him in moments. However Nozomi had made a move. The now useless left hand dripping with blood was proof there had been something meant for Hanbei. Likely there were others he hadn't detected in the heat of the moment. Still he would stumble slightly to the left by two meters. Making him twelve meters In total as he finished stumbling back a little. Drawing his Katana and plunging the tip of it in the earth to remain upright. His body was weaker now. He only had the use of his right arm and one leg. His senses blurred. The flames would be on them in moments. He just needed to hold on.

Sero, judging by the contents of the thread since your injury you would be reacting slower, and with severed artery the way you "tied it off" wouldn't be able to stop the flow of blood. Using a sword of the size you are is taxing on the body, and the weight and momentum of such a thing, combined with the fact that you are about to bleed out (like at the end of your next post at the latest) and such blood loss would make it impossible to react quickly enough to completely stop Hanbei's blow.

As a quick side note, Nozomi did not imply that she would end up within range of Hanbei, and saying so in your post is positioning another player's character without their concent. In the future please keep this in mind and allow it to serve as a warning.

I will be keeping a closer eye on this thread over the next few days.

24 hours have been added onto the thread counter, and Hanbei has 24 hours before he can be skipped. Good luck friends~

'Goodbye, new friend...‘

Hanbei would ram her shoulder under the guard of her opponent as he would lash out with an arm, but too little too late, were it not up to the additional range provided by the Porcupine mantle, the last two inches made all the difference, dozens if not hundreds of fibrous needles penetrated the front of Sero's body, his liver, causing immediate full body shut-down. Though, Hanbei couldn't help but notice, microseconds before impact, his muscles relaxed, his center of gravity dropped a fraction of an inch. The fight was over before Hanbei's impact, as it seemed that the blood loss had finally caught up with him... it was a Pyrrhic victory in a sense, a win without a final blow, it could all be chalked up to a single early lucky shot that undid the fearsome warrior and captain of the seven swordsmen. To think, that no matter the monster that stood before her, he was still only human at the heart of everything... Did a person like him still have hopes? Aspirations? Dreams? Fears? Was there a person that they loved? People they cared for? There was a level of cognitive dissonance about the whole thing, like peering into the uncanny valley and seeing only a reflection of yourself.

'But then came that sweet song.'

The soft yet elegant canary cry of Guanyin Senbon, as their mono molecular points cut through the air, parting between the chemical bonds of the oxygen they passed through, gliding on a wave of madness as they were Aimed for Hanbei after she had finished the blow. Letting go of the cracked Tanto, Hanbei would look over her shoulder, spying the needles in flight from each of the individual familiar sounds they made with her sharp senses, gripping Sero's arm that still held onto his blade and using the last of the forward momentum from his greatsword's strike, Hanbei would whirl Sero to the left hand side almost like a classical dancer, having him fall as Hanbei would crouch behind him, the cloak that he was wearing being more than able to deflect the B rank senbon that had come Hanbei's way as they sparked and ricocheted in almost every direction. The move also inconsequentially moving Sero to a side from the thrown Wakizashi, allowing Hanbei to call out from behind cover.

"HEY! That wasn't very nice! You said we could duel! Also! Can people please stop throwing MY OWN NEEDLES BACK AT ME!?"

From behind Sero, and with dexterous fingers, Hanbei would unclasp the hitch to the cloak underneath Sero's chin before diving to a side, using the following roll to bring Hanbei's hands to her neck and tie it around herself, wearing the flowing armoured cloak, that, due to their difference in size, came to the back of Hanbei's shins just above the ankle. Raising the hood, and with the lack of statistics or chakra, it seemed that this would be an ideal temporary protection in the mean-time. Nozomi was still beyond the trees and between the four needles for Hanbei's head, multiple more for her torso, but a majority for her legs, easily meant that Nozomi would be out of the 15 possible needles that were available to her on the battlefield of the 40 Hanbei had cast over the course of the battle. But now, it was time for a counter-attack. Reaching into the cloak, Hanbei would draw five shining needles in each hand from the porcupine mantle, shimmering in the sun. Not holding them with the intention to throw them, but, in fists, with a single needle facing down in an ice pick grip.

"Well... you wanna fight... lets fight."

Hanbei would raise her fists for Taijutsu, she knew full well that her opponent was likely far more skilled in martial arts, Nozomi had the body of a martial artist for one, but Hanbei had better eyes, she was smaller and lower to the ground which gave her a couple of small advantages, and a couple much larger ones. Also, at the angles and through the trees, she doubted that Nozomi had seen the effects of the porcupine mantle on Sero, still hidden by Hanbei's long sleeved baggy silk robes. Hopefully Nozomi would accept the challenge for a fight, and not rush in with several of her swords... however, were she to, knowing that with them she could play a game of longer reach, Hanbei knew she would win... her reach with her throwing needles far exceeded Nozomis with her blades. Although, there was the matter of the low ranking items that she had thrown at Sero before... and Hanbei doubted she would have run out of ammunition in those pouches.

The fight was almost done, if Nozomi was going to be completely honest with herself. She'd been calculating the distances of the fire's and they were going to be converging at the center within a short amount of time. With the elimination of Sero, Hanbei was dangerously close to them as they danced forward, eager to consume the chakra of Hanbei.

Nozomi had to admit, it was unnerving to see Sero go limp like that. She'd never actually seen him lose. In a way, it mirrored probably how he had felt seeing her after her fight with Enaka. Her attention never left Hanbei though, as she couldn't be bothered to think about that just now. This fight didn't matter, Sero wasn't actually dead. Once they had a winner, things would be reset anyhow, it's how all these things had gone previously. Whatever power it was that existed here, nothing mattered.

Her only response to Hanbei's outrage was to say a few simple words. "There's no time to argue, there won't be any where to run. The stage is shrinking, so let's just fight." She watched as Hanbei drew more needles and held them as spikes, and Nozomi's mouth twitched into a grin. The funny thing was, with punches that could draw blood, it would be like fighting a Himitsu. And that was something Nozomi intimately knew how to do.

Still, the fiery orbs would be on them soon enough. There was probably only time for a small exchange at most. The smart thing to do would have been to draw her swords, but there was a small sense of pride that Nozomi had, she didn't need the swords. Hanbei was going to use Sero's items to help him? And fight with weaponized hands? That was fine, she needed the handicap. Nozomi was every bit Sero's equal, and she didn't have a lucky hit off on her that drained her throughout the fight.

Still, Nozomi wasn't dumb. She wasn't heading towards Hanbei, as she was the one who was closest to the center. If Hanbei wanted to win, she would have to come to Nozomi and force her to leave. Ripping the pouch off of her armor again, Nozomi scattered the Makibishi she had collected once more. Either Hanbei would have to go through them, and risk injury, or she would have to go around them, wasting precious time. Her hands slid into her own pouches, drawing 4 senbon for each hand, each properly primed for either punches or being thrown as well.

Hanbei~

'It was the blue glow that gave it all away.‘

With little more than a glance to a side, panic would ensue as Hanbei, with barely a moment to spare would leap forward, charging in the direction of Nozomi as fast as her legs were able to carry her, outrunning the slow but steady closing wall of the hitodama that would threaten to draw the chakra out of anyone who touched them. Though, locking eyes on Her opponent, Hanbei would watch as a bag of Makibishi, the same that had been thrown before would be grabbed and move to be thrown out in the arena before them. Hanbei couldn't allow this, as Nozomi's hand went to the bag to draw them, Hanbei would let out one of her handfulls of five needles, all aiming for that arm from the shoulder down to the wrist, each hoping to hit either the elbow or meridian or nerve clusters that existed in that arm, penetrating them like the hair-thin acupuncture needles that they were. With little more than a tug at the mantle, Hanbei would feel needles around her knuckles flex up under the baggy silk clothing, coiling her fingers around the next set and prying them free as she would reach the wooden barrier she'd dueled Sero in.

'Need to get closer!'

Crossing her hands across her face, Hanbei would jump, landing on one of the larger branches and allowing momentum to carry her forward, her legs coiled like springs before in a single motion she would angle herself to one of the standing trees next to Nozomi that had been off the path of Sero's handy-work. In case of another ground trap, in an instant Hanbei would spring, leaping meters in that direction, spinning like a corkscrew to surround herself in the protective cloak in case of a ranged attack, landing in the tree a half dozen meters from nozomi as the fragile tree would let out a crack as its feeble branch began to give way. Not tempting fate, Hanbei would Jump from the tree to the ground, touching the soft earth for no longer than a microsecond before hoping to bridge the gap between herself and Nozomi for the opening strike...

Hanbei could remember in the chuunin exams how she would never have thought to attack in close range combat... but this was new, she was different now, far more capable, and the person she was fighting wasn't too far away from her own size, more skilled though they may be. Hanbei's first attack would show an almost complete lack of skill or style, throwing a single punch for the center of Nozomi's chest, his weight moving to his front foot as he put her bodies' force behind the blow. Each of the four, forward facing needles threatening to puncture Nozomi head on... Though, to a trained fighter, it wouldn't be hard to tell that this attack was more or less a feint of some description, even though it would be hard to tell what came next, Hanbei's arm would hook moments before impact giving her momentum as she would drop and aim a kick for the outside of Nozomi's ankle, hard enough against a person of her weight class to, with relative ease, hook his foot around the back of hers and sweep the leg out, or cause some damage to the joint with the blow if it dug in and stayed stalwart.

'It was simple, but could be effective.'

Hanbei knew of course the easy answer to the attack was simply to jump or step backwards, but, she was ready, her intended follow up would be swift, her arm grounded beside her, her momentum intending to follow through, there was much recourse to be had.~

Nozomi

Nozomi

Mistakes were made, and this fight was now close to its end. As Nozomi went to scatter the Makibishi, she was attacked, 5 senbon launching towards her arm. It wasn't hard for her to dodge it, she jumped to the left and twisted her body to the right, the needles slamming into the ground a few feet away from her.

Then Hanbei launched himself into the tree line, with Nozomi watching. Her eye kept on Hanbei, waiting for the inevitable ranged attack from the treeline. Interestingly enough, Hanbei didn't do that, and instead continued to move through the trees to get closer to Nozomi. She wasn't exactly sure why, but perhaps it was to avoid any traps Nozomi may have placed. It made sense, Hanbei didn't really want her to even scatter the Makibishi.

However, as Hanbei did a spin twist in order to avoid any senbon Nozomi might launch, Nozomi didn't bother. Instead, she twisted and went for the 5 senbon that Hanbei had thrown at her, grabbing them in a single swoop with her right hand. Hanbei had already expressed dissatisfaction that he's been attacked by Sero and Nozomi launching her own needles back at her.

She righted herself, and it was at that time that Hanbei landed at the final branch, which let out a loud crack, leaping down to the ground to attack her head on. Launching towards Nozomi, Hanbei let out a punch towards her chest, and Nozomi did perhaps the most unexpected move she would ever do.

Meeting the punch head on, she burst forward herself, braced against Hanbei's own full bodied force with her own. The needles in Hanbei's hand slammed into Nozomi's chest, and she gave off a sound of 'Ooph', and her own right hand had already moved forward, Hanbei's needles in hand, towards Hanbei's throat. They should have collided their punches at around the same time, but Nozomi was attacking to end the match, not for a follow up.

Even still, the needles in her chest actually appeared to have been ineffective, which was sure to throw off Hanbei, who might have expected at least some sort of damage. What Hanbei couldn't possibly know though, was that Nozomi happened to be wearing three layers of armor. Her flak jacket absorbed plenty of damage on it's own, reducing the needle's piercing damage to B rank rather than A rank. The ANBU armor underneath reduced the needles to a mere C rank, and the Camelio Suit under that was sturdy enough to negate almost the rest of it. Nozomi's own endurance allowed her to truck through anything past that. Hanbei wouldn't be able to dodge with such short notice though, and she didn't have quite the level of protection that Nozomi did.

Her left hand moved up to grab Hanbei's wrist and keep her stuck there as it was still stuck into Nozomi's flak jacket, and Nozomi's right leg would come up for a liver shot delivered by her knee to Hanbei, who's entire stomach was exposed. Sero's cloak was massive on her, but her own strike and lunge forward had opened it wide for Nozomi, and the protection it gave was useless as it wasn't even there.

Assuming Hanbei still tried to kick Nozomi's ankle, it wouldn't even work, Nozomi having killed off a lot of Hanbei's momentum by meeting the strike to the chest head on, and her subsequent actions, as well as lifting her own knee for a strong strike to end Hanbei's fight. Any of her strikes were probably fight ending ones should they land, and should they not, Nozomi would attempt to twist and throw Hanbei into the orbs of fire that had moved very close by now.

Hanbei had made a mistake putting on Sero's cloak. It was massive on her, and in fact would probably prove to get in the way, creating massive drag and air resistance against such a small girl, slowing her down, and perhaps even serving as something to trip her up. Not only that, but it also prevented her from using the Porcupine Mantle as tackling gear, as it's own function as armor would be negating towards the weapon itself. Besides, if all these things failed, Nozomi had so many options that she could utilize because the cloak was on. It was something easy to grab and direct into Hanbei's way. Cloaks were not smart to use in close combat, and Nozomi would capitalize on it if she needed to.

'And she fell for it!‘

Without the fraction of a second required for Hanbei's face to turn into the childlike and mischievous smile as Hanbei's intended course of action went totally uninterrupted. As His punch to the chest flew, just as he had intended to do his arm hooked moments before punching Nozomi, needing to act a little faster due to her approach, missing Nozomi and generating momentum with the skillful feint he had set up before. Ducking and rotating in time with her blow as Hanbei veered underneath her high punch... a perfect course of events leading him to have all the momentum she needed, letting out a cry as Hanbei dropped low enough, banking to one side, having used his twisting downward around it as her knee rose up, though his spinning from the kick also curved her out of the direct path of the knee as the Guanyin would land a DEVASTATING hit onto the inside of Nozomi's only standing ankle which, as of right now, held her entire body-weight. There would be a horrifying crack as the tensile force of the  wet ground would momentarily hold Nozomi in place, forcing her leg to take possibly the worst impact Nozomi could have possibly allowed her opponent to make.

'It was over.'

Following through, the force, which would have been enough to knock a person of her size's weight out from under her, would finally pull through, moving through to the intended trap of the combo, the needles in Hanbei's free Hand as Nozomi would rotate to be horizontal for a moment, would let out a flurry of five needles for the exposed collar area of nozomi's as the impact would likely route her arms with an intent to land if not have them splay outwards from the force of Hanbei now more or less being inside her guard from her missed punch to his chest. Should the needles hit their intended points, though at this point, functionally being impossible to evade without a means to alter her course midair, would penetrate either side of Nozomi's brachial plexus, which would not only immobilize her arms to the point that they would not be able to move until the damage could be healed, the pain from having that major nerve penetrated would wrack Nozomi with incredible pain. The third needle would be launched for her aesophogus just under her voice box, a shot that would likely throw her mind into dissarray. Finally, the last two nerves that they would aim for in the collar area would be sternocleidomastoid nerves.

The beauty of the shot was, aside from the shot to the neck, in which if her head were to suddenly twitch to either side would likely miss, the other four were targeted at fixed locations on the torso, making them more or less impossible to route or move unlike shots to the arms or legs. They were also just above the collar line of the kiri flack jackets and other chest protections, though Hanbei could not speak for any other protection she would be wearing as the A rank needles would hopefully find their mark.

Using Hanbei's planted hand on the ground she would vault through, moving into a roll as Nozomi would likely hit the ground, using the roll and free hands to grap fistfuls of needles from the fore-arms of the porcupine mantle, hurling the maximum volume of needles he could, without much care for aiming at specific locations, launching a point blank volley of 30 needles for Nozomi's upper body. The plethora of needles would likely land if not avoided, striking between her knees and the area above her head...

The barrier was moving close, but, it wasn't quite on top of Hanbei yet, so, she would continue to rotate around at the same speed, strafing around Nozomi... Whether or not all of Hanbei's blows landed. Nozomi would not be walking for the rest of this fight... Simply put, a blow capable of knocking your weight out, to the inside of an exposed ankle holding all of ones weight set in the grip of a wet marsh... was sure to snap it in half...

Hanbei, carrying around Sero on your back would be exhausting. Combining that with the fact that it would take Nozomi a fraction of a second to get to the position where you were in order to avoid your feint, I do not believe you would have had the chance to land your hit. This match is over and the result is a draw...

The orbs of eerie blue flame mere seconds away from colliding with the two fighters would stop just as suddenly as they had started their hovering trek. The flames flicker and dance, waiting it seemed in anticipation of some important happening. The same familiar sensation of something crawling in the dark and across their skin would return to the contestants, both locked in combat and trying desperately to fell the other. The stars seemed to disappear from the sky, and a loud echoing voice shattered the solemnity of the moment.

“I see you have both passed my test, how very fortunate for you. I am impressed by your bravery. . . and willingness to participate. Not many would be willing to murder their friends for a prize.”
The same ghostly pale blue woman floats a few meters away looming over the still body of Sero and laughing as though at some secret joke. As her cackle fills the air, the blue flamed orbs pulse and shiver, burning brightly and then slowly fading from view seemingly sucked back into the aether. Her eyes snap up to the two bloodied and bruised women, piercing eyes seeking to match the gaze of each warrior.

“This will give me many good stories to tell. I expect to see you again, this battle will scare the souls out of many, and I want to see more. Until I find you again dear ones. . . sleep well.”

With her final words spoken the terrifying visage of the woman fades from view, her laughter still echoing softly on the night breeze.
