Uchiha Teru

Uchiha Teru

The days were rolling by, there was no denying that. It felt as though an entire year has gone along, but maybe it was not exactly that long. Regardless of how much time had passed, much of it was spent committing to village related duties. Missions, one after the other. Some good things occurred during the time. But, all of it left Teru Uchiha exhausted. The fatigue of overworking herself was beginning to hit hard. There would not be a chance that she stopped to let it overtake her. She still had much to do to fulfill her desires. And so, she brought herself back to the manor of Sero Osada, where she would work hard to complete her training. She was going to go to the library with a strong interest for what scrolls lied inside. It was supposed to be a massive room with an incredible amount of collections that would cover all of the basic needs she had. If it was there and helped the owner of the manor become such a strong man, then it would be there to help her become a strong woman.

Teru approached the main doors of the manor with her hood up. The zipper to her black jacket was puled up to the base of her neck, an inch above her collar bone. It was a drizzle outside. The light rain was accompanied by dark gray clouds in the sky. Yet another storm was rolling in, but it would likely be a while before it escalated into a thunderstorm. In her opinion, the last storm was a relaxing one. She was able to sleep well. The thunder's rumbling made her feel like she was being rocked to sleep, like a baby in a crib. Perhaps this next storm would come during the night, or even while she was undergoing her training with her mentor. Teru glanced behind her and up at the drifting clouds. Her index and middle fingers tugged at the upper part of her scarf, pulling it down to expose her nose and mouth. The air had the gentle scent of the rain's contact with earth. As if it was telling her something, she gave a nod and took hold of one of the door handles.

Entering the manor, Teru found it to be quiet. There was not a single soul to greet her, but that was to be expected. It was dark, but the windows allowed for some natural sunlight to pour in from outside. The door closed behind her, and Teru let her hood fall to her back as she shook off the cold. But, as cold as it was out in the wilderness, she was not entirely bothered. The years she lived in Kirigakure did well with preparing her for such temperatures, so wearing what she did proved to be fine. Shorts, a bikini, and a jacket.... It was a questionable choice in attire, though. But she liked it, and that was good enough. Teru tucked the ends of her scarf under her chin so that she was not masking herself the whole time she was indoors, and she walked along the halls to the staircase. She kept her steps light as she tiptoed up to the second floor. On this next level, Teru made her way through that hallway to get to her room. She dried herself off with a single towel.

Teru sighed and tossed the towel onto the bed, and she unzipped her jacket until the zipper was just below her navel. The bag that hung at her back was slipped off and set on the ground, just next to the bed's leg. She sat down and leaned back until the mattress was hugging her body. A short rest before meeting with Sero. It felt good to the body, but was certainly tired of running around a lot of the time. This was the first real rest she had ever gotten since getting back into her duties as a ninja. It was not going to last, however. Sero was surely going to work her harder than she expected him to. Well, hopefully she would have a chance to keep up to him and his expectations. "Oh," Teru's eyes opened as a thought popped into her mind. She pushed herself up into a sitting position and dug through the contents of her bag. It was requested of her that she put together a list of all the techniques she knew. All of which that revolved around the fire nature. Teru had wanted to give it to Sero some time ago, before she was sent on consecutive missions. Well, here it was now, so she would leave it for him in the library as soon as she got down to that part of the manor.

Her eyes scanned the page, giving her a mental note of all she knew. It was not a smile that plastered itself on her face, but a frown. What a pathetic list it was, she thought. Teru furrowed her eyebrows and narrowed her eyes at the paper. She was a member of the clan most famous for its skills with fire jutsu. And yet, in spite of being an Uchiha clan kunoichi, she only knew a few of the techniques. The paper wrinkled in her hand as she slapped her palm onto her forehead. "I need some serious training..." she muttered. All of her focus had been on her knowledge of Doton. It was likely that Sero would not be entirely displeased with her. She did do her training, and her own studying was done to help herself with what he could not assist her with. He did mention that Doton was not one of his specialties. That thought made her worry less. But, she was still hoping that she really did dodge a bullet. She was going to do her best to learn more about the fire nature. That way, she would truly stand as an Uchiha rather than just some kunoichi who had a little skill in something. Teru looked at the paper again and pouted. Fire Style: Misty Flame Jutsu, Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu, and Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu. So pathetic!

Before it got too late in the day, Teru ended her brief time of rest and stood up from the bed. The time was ticking, and she was not going to make anyone wait any longer. And so, Teru took her list of known fire jutsu and placed it in her jacket pocket for its own safety. She was determined to improve her skills with the support of Sero. Teru exited the room, closing the door behind her. Down the stairs she went and through the halls to the library. She paid no mind to the dozens of eyes that watched her walk along. The spiders were of no major concern to her at that moment. As soon as she reached the library, Teru gently opened the door and stepped over to one of the tables. The list she had was set down on its surface, but Teru moved away from it to go over to the shelves of scrolls. There were so many. Hundreds, perhaps? Several of them looked quite interesting. Sero was not yet present, so she took a moment to read through one of the scrolls. She would put it back to its rightful place the moment he entered the library.

Sero had not entered the library in some time. It appeared to have been left abandoned by him aside from some more recent activity near a shelf labeled Suiton. Dust coated wooden shelves with a step ladder on rollers on a side wall. Desks enough to teach a class lined the floor of the library with stacks of books or scrolls on them. Most piles were also coated in dust but some were less so. It appeared that Sero had spent a great deal of his childhood here but as of late he had no reason to wander into this place beyond a few things. Nor had he ever bothered to pick up after himself. It was obvious her never had intentions of sharing this space with another. However as she sought out Katon scrolls she would find the shelf long since laid barren aside from a single Scroll sealed with something only someone capable of using S rank jutsu could open. The rest of the katon scrolls had been removed from a nearby table and recently. Perhaps Sero had pulled them in order to utilize them for this lesson. He was prepared for her as it was the lesson designed for Katon jutsu.

Still something shifted above her as she entered. If she looked up red eyes would be gazing at her. The large spider would slowly stretch its legs and shift moving down the wall. Its long strides ever so slow. Making its way to the doorway before stopping there on the wall above the door. Waiting for her to notice it before it hissed and shifted its long legs tapping on the wall repeatedly in a musical pattern. It seemed to almost grin at her before it would open its mouth and begin to speak. Its words long and slurred but it spoke English well enough. The tone set for it almost sarcastic. It was clear this was the spider that held some sort of grudge for her. "Ladyy Teru. Comeee to this place of learniiiing have you? Father isssnt here right now. He is on the west side of the Manor oooutside where he createddd the stage ...Of cooourse I will respect his wiiishes and alllow you to leave here but I ask you, do you feeel you are worthy of this place? Of us? Of Seroo? What makes you worthy of this training abandoner? You who leeeft him."

As promised the Spider would allow her passed with or without an answer regardless of what it was. However it would be clear it wasn't happy she was there. Still Sero would be waiting outside on the west side of the manor. The lawn over there was separated into a large area. Forty meters from the manor was two stages forty meters from each other. One for both the elements Sero had trained in as a child. The suiton training station was a simple concrete hole filled with water with a wooden dock moving over the water from one side halfway over it. The other was a stone platform with a lit torch on all four corners with one big bowl of fire in the center. In the center of both the stages Sero sat in a lawn chair with an umbrella blocking what dim light there was over him. Simple grey robes covering him with a Katana leaning up against the arm rest. A table was to the right of him with the scrolls set upon it. In his hands was a hard back book with mostly blank pages aside from the pen in his hand. Along with the pages he had filled out copying over the scrolls of Katon jutsu into a book.

As Teru stood at one of the many shelves, she sighed. There was the smallest of hints of frustration in her sigh. Sero was not there, and it did not look like he was about to show up. Not to mention, she had not yet seen any scrolls with information regarding fire techniques. It did look like there were some missing from their places. How unfortunate. She did take note that the place lacked attention, which was evident by the amount of dust collecting in places. An orderly person like Sero, however, could not possibly be the type to just leave his belongings laying around the manor. Teru cocked her head to the side in wonder. Then could he have been here? She wondered. In that case, then another look around the manor would do her some good. It was possible that she walked right passed him and never even noticed. So, she put the scroll she was reading away and reclaimed the sheet of paper that was on the table.

Teru was about to make a round through the halls of the manor in search of Sero, when something nagged at her. It was as if someone or something was watching her where she stood. Such a feeling was becoming the usual as she stayed at the manor, but it was one that was incredibly difficult to get over. "Huh?" she was prompted to tilt her head back and look up, so she did. Eyes redder than blood looked down at her from up above. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest as its legs spread. The shadows hid a portion of its body, but soon it came to light as the creature traveled down the side of the wall. One of Sero's spiders, she assumed. It stayed to the wall, but continued on until it was at the door. The exit was not blocked, but the spider was lingering over it in wait. Teru was on the verge of paling. She was not looking forward to losing her life to the sizable arachnid. Its hiss was comparable to that of a snake, and it tapped on the surface in a catchy pattern.

A smile? Had the spider actually smiled? Her eyebrows furrowed and her mouth cracked open slightly. And yet, that was not the most unusual occurrence she had ever been met with. No. The spider began to speak the words of humans. Conveniently, it spoke in a language that she was fluent in. Teru did not speak up yet. Rather, she listened to the spider's words and waited. It acknowledged that she had gone to the library for a chance to better her experience with what she learned. In spite of Sero not being where she thought he would be, Teru was still going to use the time she had to get the training she had gone there for. The west wing of the manor, the spider told her. Although, her other concerns were confirmed. The spider's words hinted that it was intent on doing "something" to her. What did spiders do best? Well, it had to have been consuming prey. And she was surely the intended prey. Teru was lucky that Sero put in a word for her, to not have her eaten... or worse. "Well..." Teru gazed up at the spider, folding her arms across her torso. She stepped forward, closer to the door that the spider secured. It was questioning her worth of staying at the manor. Not just about that, but it questioned if she was truly worthy of residing with the spiders, and of staying under Sero's wing. She was displeased upon being considered someone who abandoned another, and she frowned. But, maybe it was the truth.

Teru's eyes narrowed. It did not feel so good to go back to that topic. In addition to that, she felt it impossible to get on their good side. All of the spiders, from what she could tell, were not approving of her presence still. If it crossed their master's mind, they would probably eat her within a second's notice. For a moment, she closed her eyes out of thought. Being approached with this, she had to give her most sincere answer. If only it would be enough to prove something to them. Opening her eyes again, Teru was ready to speak. "My worth is questionable to you, I'm sure. But, I will not give up in what I came here to do. The day I came here was the day I decided to stay and do my part. Spread the word, if you want. You have a new sister now. I will train under Sero Osada as his student. Maybe afterward, you will acknowledge me as an ally rather than an ill-willed outsider. Consider me family, would you?"

With that, Teru pushed through the doors without a second glance to the spider. It was bold of her to openly speak against the arachnid. She was out of there now, but she constantly glanced behind her to make sure that she not being followed. To the western half of the manor, she hurried. She was jogging, almost, until she got to the outdoors. Just as the spider had told her, Sero was there. Strolling into the designated location of training, Teru approached the Osada man with determination to commit to the training he had in store for her. Although, he was looking comfortable, sitting in the chair with an umbrella over his head. That was not something that she was expecting. Teru took note of the stages of training. The one with fire must have been the one he would be using for her training. Oh, and there the scrolls were. The ones missing from the library. Teru stopped until there was about ten feet in between her and Sero. "I apologize for being late," she said to him, and she bowed her head in a respectful manner. "I believe I'm ready for your training... Sero-sensei."

Sero would continue to write in his own hand a copy of the knowledge the scrolls provided into a single hardback book. The pen moving in smooth motions as it curved two and fro across the paper. Little more than a tiny blade leaving its life blood behind on the page. It's only value being mercilessly taken from it bit by bit to sooth no more need than the simplicity of another copy in another form of information he already had. Of course he cared nothing for the pen, no one ever did. It had a purpose and its purpose was to be served. The only reason he had begun to think of people differently than that pen is because at times their purpose was less straight forward and clearly defined. A blade to help defend the village could be made from one who had ran away from a commitment and once branded a coward. How little could one understand the way Teru must have felt. A pen with no true understanding of herself placed in the hand of a monster. Her blood flowing freely as her use was drained from her. However she had returned with new vigor. The scars placed upon her simply making her greater. More than just a pen.

So it was as she spoke the pen stopped mid stroke. Suddenly halting at the sound of her voice. Of course he had heard her approaching and yet her voice struck a cord in him. Memories of a survivor he had reclaimed only on the virtue that she returned to him of her own power. He would tilt his head at her apology followed by her request to begin training. Or rather the mention of how she was prepared. His ear would lend to her a moment more before he would close the book he was working on with a loud snapping sound. The chair and umbrella as well as the scrolls seemed to swirl in on themselves in a slow motion before fading to mist. As his chair faded Sero would seem to almost slide into a standing position from his sitting one with a mesmerizing movement like he was floating. The grace of the way he moved so unnatural. The katana standing straight up as he collected it in his pale left hand. Tucking it into his belt before looking to Teru with the same cold grey eyes as always with that deep lack of expression. One could never tell how he felt about them. Just emptiness within. Still he would speak to her in a cold tone. His pale lips parting as he did.

"Come along than my student."

With that he would turn from her. His strides almost like he was gliding across the lawn over to the fire stage. Upon reaching closer to this stage she would begin to detect the signs of use over the years. Burn marks here and there where he had mastered his own mastery of Katon over his youth. One particular spot might prove of interest to her, a single silhouette of a man burned into the side of the burning pit in the center. As if once upon a time some poor soul had happened upon Sero here and that black mark resembling his shape was all that remained of him. Still he carried that book in his right hand as he went. A red cover with no title with cream white pages. The smell of fresh ink and new paper mixing together. He would reach the fire pit and stand next to it before turning to her. Within his grey gaze the fires seemed to reflect. As if deep within him only the fires of the damned burned. Yet he would hold out his pale left hand. Thin fingers stretching out with dark red claw like nails on the end of them. He would speak again. His expression still much the same.

"Your list if you please."

In silence, she waited. The man was writing some unknown information on a document. She watched his hand motions and wondered what it could be that he was jotting down on the page. Gradually, it was filling up and the page would soon be as full of life as the scrolls in the library. There was an open scroll, so perhaps there was text being transferred to a new home. It could have also been a way of studying. Some people kept track of their own personal library through mental means. The subject of study was treated as a file, secured by the intellectual hands of the brain, and the information would be searched for later on. Although, that memorization was, at times, lost in a clutter of thoughts. That was surely the reason more and more people resorted to taking physical notes, just as Sero must have been doing. It was not what Teru tended to do during her time. She had good memory. Her mind was still young and capable of keeping track of something that happened so long ago. However, Sero was giving her a great example of what she could do. Even though it might not actually be what he was doing, dutiful studying and dedication to transcribed words in order to increase one's mental capabilities. It was something she would greatly consider in the future.

She swallowed a small lump in her throat. The man who was to be her teacher had stopped writing, but he had ceased the scribbling so suddenly. It worried her that she had come at a terrible time, or she had spoken at a time of inconvenience. Teru was certain that it was indeed a nod that he gave her. But, she flinched internally upon the closing of his book. The sound was like that of a bone being snapped. Then, without much of a warning, his lawn chair and umbrella dissipated into a misty substance. The scrolls, too, had gone away. Unneeded by his attention, nor hers for that matter. When Sero stood in a way that was just about comparable to a vampire, Teru straightened her own composure. Her eyes were had a hint of eagerness in them, but merely watched as the pale-skinned man plucked the standing sword with a simple motion of the hand. It was tucked away shortly after, but Teru had a feeling that she would be seeing it in the open again. Moments later, he urged for her to go along with him in the calmest of voices. The way he spoke was luring and on the edge of being hypnotizing. Like a sheep following after its shepherd, Teru followed after Sero through the manor's yard. She went along as a result of her own free will acting.

To the stage dominated by the flames. Teru remained a few steps behind Sero, as she was examining the current state of the stage. It was rather amazing how it looked in spite of it being worn, tattered by the effects of training. The burn marks appeared in multiple places on the stage. The material was blackened by the scorching flames. It became clear to her that Sero had not been messing around with his training. There was no doubt that these burn marks were all caused by him. It was so fascinating to see. But, then her eyes caught on to something else on the stage. It pulled at her attention with so much strength... she could not help but stare at it as she walked on. In the middle of a burn mark, there was a rough silhouette. Not from a wooden doll being burned to ash. It had something more life-like. A human being's form, she concluded. She had no way of identifying who it belonged to, but there was no way for a corpse to be retrieved. It was possible that this person who was burned alive had provoked Sero in a way that resulted in an immediate death. The man was not one to mess with so carelessly, and Teru was not going to make that same mistake. If she did, then it was possible that her own burnt mark would appear on the stage. Her flesh and bones would have been burnt away by the power of the demon's flames. And, her soul would surely be cast down to the Devil. It was not a fate that she desired, at all.

Shifting her gaze away from the dreadful sight, Teru acknowledged it as a possible warning. She exhaled a breath, but that only did well to remove a small ounce of anxiety from her body. He was not going to kill her, she thought. There was still much for her to learn, and her uses could be increased for him. He had to have known that, or else he would have killed her the first time they ever met. Perhaps, he would even find use in her Doujutsu, the ability possessed by all members of the Uchiha clan. If he helped her train it, then maybe she would not end up as a pile of ash that would one day be blown away by the wind. Teru shook her head and glanced down at the book that Sero was still in possession of. She could not see a title on it. But, that was not what she really wanted to know about the book. It was the contents inside the pages that she had an interest in. Although, she was not about to bother Sero for the information. It may have been private. So, she held her tongue and bit back the question. Now was not the time to ask.

They were atop the stage now. Teru's pace slowed slightly as Sero took a stand near the fire pit. His eyes seemed so dark despite there being enough light outside to illuminate their faces. The fire itself was in his eyes. A flame burned in his eyes as he was looking to her, she could feel the heat. It distracted her until she caught sight of something reaching out for her. At first, she thought it to be the hand of a true demon, but she realized that it was only Sero's. His human hand, as pale as snow, was extended towards her. She caught no changes in his expression and stepped closer to reduce the space between them. The list she had written for him was requested for. She nodded and pulled out the paper from her jacket pocket. It was a small square, fitting the names of only three fire nature jutsu. Nothing that would make an impression on the Osada, the supposed master of the flames. Teru held it out to Sero for him to take. She was still feeling shameful that she had not done more to master the element herself. Well, that was what he was there for, she supposed. She at least had the determination and desire to learn as much as she could now. But still... she was worried about the outcome. Teru hoped that nothing bad would come out of it.

Sero would keep his hand held out to her as he waited. Slowly she would hand over a much smaller slip of paper than he had expected. The silence of the moment was reverent as he would take the slip and look upon it. Before his eyes was evidence that she was much the same as Burittsu was. The element they had in common with him shared little in the way of practice. Three jutsu and all three violent in nature. She was capable of using the element though and that would be all he needed to raise her to a new height. To make her his horseman and allow her to ride by his side. To scorch the earth where he commanded it as he did. Slowly he would extend his hand with the paper in it and let it flutter in a sudden gust of warm wind. Settling ever so slowly as it wavered back and forth in the air in that silent moment. Slowly falling to the fire pit below and within its reaches burning. Blackening as crisping before fading away to ashes before it even touched the bottom of the bowl. Faded from reality and gone from the world.

"As with that paper, your old self will be forgotten on this day. I will train you to be stronger than you ever knew you could be Uchiha Teru. Within my guidance you will find a control of that which can preserve life against the cold of this world or can burn away the infection which inhabits so much of it. Stay with me and all of it shall be yours under my command. The very surface of the sun at your beckon. Kneel now before me Teru. For before we begin I have questions for you."

Assuming she would kneel before him Sero would approach in slow steps. His gaze never leaving her and never blinking. The air around them seemed to grow warmer as the stone beneath his feet would hiss with each step. The ground blackening and burning under him with tiny flames rising where he stood. The flames and heat not seeming to bother him in the least. The hand not holding the book would preform some rather rapid movements that Teru would not be able to follow before suddenly the grass around the stage would flatten out and waves of heat would keep it fluttering down. To Teru it would be like she knelt next to an open bon fire. As if the world responded to him and the heat within him Sero would raise his hand to his sword. As he drew the weapon from its sheath specs of flame would begin to rain down around them. A small drizzle and yet instead of water it was actually raining fire. As he drew the blade from its sheath he would raise it up into the air. The flames reflecting off the steel as the very world around them seemed to burn. The pattern remarkable to witness as she would sense very little in the way of chakra in all of this. Slowly Sero would lower the blade down watching to see if she flinched from it. "Do you swear your loyalty to both Kirigakure and myself?" If she said yes his sword would tap her right shoulder. How strange it must seem that Sero would turn to such old fashioned ritual. He usually hated wasting time. Still his sword would move to her other shoulder. "Will you wield this power and never doubt yourself with it?" If she would acknowledge him a second time her opposing shoulder from the first one would receive a tap. With that done he would take his sword and sheath it. Speaking as fire rained down around them.

"Then rise my first knight. Horseman of the immortal blaze, and learn what your lord can teach you."

A quiet anxiety filled Teru's bosom. The silence was growing as she watched him examine the paper. She watched him for a moment, waiting to see what his reaction would be. Her eyes innocently studied his hand that held onto the paper she gave him. The edges of it that were not trapped in between his fingers were dancing briskly. Not lost, but firmly held in position. It was then that Teru watched it fall gently. Not to the ground, but into the flames of the fire pit. Taken by the flames and turned over to oblivion. The purpose for doing so was a mystery as of yet, but there surely had to be one. Teru did not think to question it, so she simply watched until he gave her permission to speak. Eventually, he did open his mouth to present her ears with thoughtful words. There were butterflies in her stomach, for she was eager to learn of what he had in store for her.

For before we begin I have questions for you," was what Sero had to say to Teru. Open ears welcomed it, and an open heart allowed for what was said to enter. No longer was she to be the Teru of a pathetic past. She admitted it to herself multiple times that she was incapable of many things. The progress she made on her own was slow... unbearably. Power would be hers if she stayed under Sero and did as he commanded. That would mean overcoming any obstacle that stood in her way. Promptly, Teru knelt down and bowed her head in understanding. No words spoken, for her ears were all that needed to be until his questions were asked.

Teru did not yet lift her head, and she continued to gaze down at the feet of Sero. He moved closer to her, but she did not mind. The closer each step came, Teru could feel an increase in the temperature. It was chilly before due to the weather. The warmth soothed her, strangely. Welcoming as though she had returned home from a considerable journey. Soon, the warmth turned up to a greater heat. Teru was mostly undisturbed by it, but a thin line of sweat rolled down her left temple and dripped from her jaw to the ground where it sizzled into nonexistence. With Sero standing closer now, it became apparent that the heat was nearing its peak degree.

Embers raining down caught her attention, but Teru kept her head bowed. Although, she was still able to see them fall to the ground around her and Sero. Her ears listened for the sound of his sword being unsheathed. Although, even though there seemed to be fire taking over, Teru was feeling more at ease than before. The tension left her shoulder, and they soon relaxed as the blade of Sero's sword neared. In spite of it being so close, she made no effort to jump away or push back against Sero. She did not block the blade away with her own weapons. There was simply no need for such actions. And so, Teru allowed for a sense of calm to overtake her nerves. It was not the time to be scared and run away. Surely, if she had run, then the depths of the flames would banish her to a realm of cowards. The fire would sentence her to a dreadful fate that would haunt her for the rest of her life. No, Teru was not ever going to run away. This was an excellent opportunity for her to show just how faithful she was toward the village and its power.

Teru breathed in quietness and closed her eyelids to take in the moment. Again, she remained silent as Sero went on to speak his mind. The first question that he had been wanting to ask of her. "Do you swear your loyalty to both Kirigakure and myself?" As soon as he asked her, Teru waited a moment before speaking. For all of her life, she believed herself to be an extremely loyal inhabitant and kunoichi of Kirigakure. She believed that she lived and breathed for the village. Could she share such a powerful loyalty for the man who acquainted her with the darker road of the shinobi world? Well, putting it that way, it was hard to say. There was something else, however, that made her think that it was the just thing to do. To become a loyal accomplice of Sero Osada's. To her now, it did not sound bad at all. He too was loyal to Kirigakure. So, staying with him would allow her to witness what true loyalty was. Keeping her eyes closed, Teru spoke up in response to Sero. "I swear on my life... to remain a loyal kunoichi of Kirigakure. I swear to strengthen my loyalty to you, as well." And so, with her first answer, Teru declared to her superior that she would remain steadfast in her life as his student and soldier of Kirigakure. It would be an undying fire, comparable to the light of the sun that shined down on their world. "Will you wield this power and never doubt yourself with it?" Again, she took in the words for thought. The power that he would be granting to her, she would be wielding it as her own sword during the coming days. That power was to be used for the good of Kirigakure. She was never going to look down on herself and see that she was a weakling. Not at all, for she was going to be as strong as the hand that brought creation to the world. "I shall use this power... for the good of my village. I vow to see myself as who I am fated to become."

The blades touch on her shoulders were hot and comforting. It was almost done now, the vows of her becoming a blossoming bud on a great tree. "Then rise my first knight. Horseman of the immortal blaze, and learn what your lord can teach you." Teru was prompted to do as he said, and she rose to her feet with a powerful flame that burned inside her heart. As of now, Teru Uchiha was the Osada's knight of fire. She would soon be a master of the flames as he was. She opened her eyes in acceptance, taking on this new title. Horseman of the Immortal Blaze. It was pleasing to the ears and gave her a new confidence. Medieval perhaps, but that was fine in her book. Teru opened her eyes and revealed the hopeful reflection in them. The fire that burned in them was as strong as, or perhaps even stronger than, the embers that descended. Accompanying her new strength, a smile of passion and dedication. "Thank you, Sensei."

Sero would watch her rise. She was his first knight now. He had thought his second would be Yasuo but with them gone and the investigation ongoing on their whereabouts he was to turn to the next child under his care. Recently returned as she was she was to be his ward. He was responsible for her life now and as such she needed to be involved in his actions. He would need to train her in live combat and in order to do so he would need to arm her. Burittsu was likely strong enough as he was but Teru was another matter. In order to face what was coming she would need to be trained in long range techniques and ways to move about without facing direct harm. Luckily her three jutsu she knew brought her up to that level easily. His grey eyes would study her for a moment as she rose to her feet. A new sense of will burning in her eyes. He knew other eyes from other species had witnessed this and with luck it would hasten her relationship with them. Now it was time to move onto training. So he spoke calmly with his blade forgotten. Turning to current events as history was just that even if it was mere seconds ago.

"Tonight we will be having dinner with a guest. At sunset. I intend for you to be there and discuss the next challenge I have in mind for you. He will be your team mate for this occurrence so learn what you can. For now we will start with three techniques at the level you have already trained to. First, focus a tenth of your Katon chakra, Forge it outside of yourself and give it your form in your mind. As I do now."

He would shift his eyes half closed and rotate his neck. Thin flames would emerge from his left side as if a wind were blowing flames out of him only to form into another of him standing as he was looking exactly as he did. A fire clone brought to life like a reflex. Of course this was but one of the three clone types he could produce but for the moment it pertained to the lesson. Both Sero's held out their left hands as a wheel of wire was then attached to both of them. Seeming to slighter from up the Original Sero's sleeve over the other one like it was alive. Once it was tightened the other Sero moved at a speed that made the wheel of fire cast of sparks until they were the full length apart. A good fifty feet. They stood there bound to each other before Sero would speak again. Calm in demeanor as always. Unflinching from what he was about to do. Nor was his clone. A heavy loss of chakra but he did so by choice. Since he could release the clone if he wished it.

"As you can see we are attached by a length of wire. Some jutsu utilize other objects as needed to grant increased abilities. However it is still best to distract them as needed in order to land a hit. Both of these jutsu are very similar to your Great fireball jutsu but add a great deal to it. Precision or speed or perhaps just the fact that the first one can stick to an opponent and continue burning like oil. Observe."

Sero would turn his head and face his clone. He would inhale and exhale. On the exhale the breath would light aflame but this flame would grow massively on the exhale. A huge bonfire four meters long, three meters wide and three meters tall. A massive bullet shaped jutsu that launched forward and scorched the earth along its path leaving it burning like some sort of liquid burned where it touched even after it was gone. The jutsu moving at twenty meters per second. Even as it left his mouth it blocked the view between his clone and him. Concealing him behind it as he formed. As soon as he could no longer be seen Sero formed a tiger hand seal and breathed again on the wires.Flames shooting out to the wire and then rapidly traveling along it. He felt the wire shift but it was too late. Clone Sero moved to dodge the bullet the moment it formed and the flames shot passed him scorching the yard for forty meters. Leaving a burning path. However the other flames traveled along the wire and on contact with Sero clone it burst him into first and faded him away. Allowing the wire to go limp and sizzled everywhere but where Sero held it. With that done he held out the wire and looked to Teru. His grey eyes studying her as flames burned in front of them for some distance.

"You may now attempt all three."

It felt different. The atmosphere, her sense of self, and everything else. She was a knight in a sense that did not make her any less of a ninja than anyone else. What an honor it was to be bestowed with such power. Other than expressing more of her gratitude, Teru had no real idea of what she should be saying. Thank you once, and thank you twice. She could repeat the phrase over and over again. Not that she would outside of her head. She would not want to aggravate her teacher so much before she had even received her training. With her attention still on him, too, Teru heard of what he had planned next. As I do now." A small gathering over dinner, he mentioned to her. Who could this guest be? Teru could only wonder, for he had not given her the name of the mysterious person. It was unlikely that she would know who it was, but there was a small chance. Well, she would certainly be there to meet him, whoever he was. He, the unnamed man, would be her teammate. Now that was unexpected. If it was a cooperator he was giving her, however, then a cooperator she would be given and work with.

At last, it was time for her to be trained by the hunter. She was ready to devote her hearing to his explanations regarding these intended techniques to be taught. This first technique was witnessed by her eyes, and she watched with focus as a few streams of fire flowed from his body. The focus he had with his chakra was bringing forth another being. A fire clone was what it was, and it served its name well. From head to toe, the clone looked exactly like Sero. It even moved in such a way that made her believe it was a nearly perfect clone. Well, not letting the valuable information go to waste. Teru attempted it herself. Focus a small portion of her Katon chakra, and forge it outside her body. She closed her eyes a moment and exhaled a hot breath. It took her a moment, but the streams of fire did flow out and begin to give shape to something. The first attempt was rather rough, but it did shape into a human's body. Teru's body, to be exact. "Heh, so that's it," Teru grinned at her reflection. She did not yet disperse the clone. No, she was going to follow along with the rest of the lesson.

Teru paid close attention to what he had to say next. It was likely going to be the most important part, so open ears were given. Observe." And so, she did examine his movements and ways of performing the technique out of observation. He pointed out the wire-like trail connecting them to their clones, an interesting study. It was rather splitting to the mind, but she did her best to understand what he was meaning. Watch and learn, she thought to herself. Teru expected it to be something like the Great Fireball Jutsu, but she was a bit taken back when it turned out differently.

The fire moved swiftly toward the clone. Great heat spread across the stage even if the flames did not cover the entirety. She felt it on her face and front. It was shortly after the execution of the technique when the clone had been disrupted, leaving only one Sero left. So, now it was her turn. Teru took on the task of applying the wire to good use and separated herself from the clone. Following every step and arm movement, Teru inhaled a deep breath and followed in suit with an exhale of that same breath. Just as Sero's flames did, hers traveled along the wires and made contact with the flame clone. A scorching burst that was indeed short of perfection, but it was close to how her teacher's example was. The flames were reflecting in her eyes still, dancing a victorious rhythm. "That's... going to be quite useful." Teru performed the jutsu as he had instructed, but she was somewhat drained from it. A little rest was what she would need before they continued on with the lessons. But, by then she would be in good enough shape to keep it going. In addition to these jutsu that he taught her, there were far more ways in which she could apply them. Trapping a target by luring them into a particular position, and blasting them with a surprise fireball. The options were vast, indeed. Teru was looking forward to these next examples and teachings. There was so much she was going to learn, and in such a small amount of time. Ah, well, she hoped it would all be in a small amount of time. The more she learned, and the faster, then the sooner it would be that she became that fine kunoichi she always dreamed of being. "Alright, when do we begin again?"

Now that she thought about it, she began to wonder if she too could make it rain embers like he did shortly before the lesson. What all it could be used for, she did not quite know yet. But, there could be quite a few applicable methods. Teru was becoming excited with how great her arsenal of jutsu was getting to be.
