Even his voice gave the signal to begin the male was in nothing but hesitation wondering what type of beast Sero was actually on the battlefield if something could be alive for this long many have died trying to fight him. It was not cocky mindset he just seen much more battles than Burittsu and it showed in this event. No fear or even a studder of a word he had been through this to many times to mess up as if it was a weekly street performance. Each week maybe new the but act was still the same everyone seen it but no one could look away due to the fact of how amazing it was so amazing they end up throwing money into the performers for the same trick that was done last time.

Who knows why they did it was it for a fact they waited till one of the performers fell straight on their face so they can finally applaud and laugh or was it they have a short attention span. This show on the other hand had been performed by Sero who knows how many times and most likely no one lived after facing such a beast if any did live the count would be between one out of ten. It was quiet between the two as they both were locked into a staredown neither interested in looking away. Was this pride or a foolish code he now wondered if Sero was right if his pride got in the way of his ambition to become the shinobi he wanted be standing high for all to remember him. Maybe some truth was hidden underneath the words of Sero and maybe not but if gaining power to avenge not only Genbu but all the others that fell to such murder.

He was willing to turn his back on the past that held him back from his full potential crossing the line to a path that none should follow unless already lost in the darkness themselves. Gazing at Sero from head to toe as his blade was in the path of the male he wanted to learn how it really works when it comes to handling a weapon specialist such as him. In time the area grew darker as a calm breeze pushed upon his back as if it was urging him to make the first move. With the wind at his back he quickly pushed forward keeping the blade in a guard like position if he was even doing it right to protect himself he would soon find out. Only mere feet away from Sero was out of his comfort zone with this type of weapon swinging up, down, left, and right aiming to do something to male but it was just him swinging at his chest not even getting close his actual skin let alone his clothing. With the smirk returning upon his face even he knew an attack that weak would get the blade knocked out of his hand.

Eyes burning with a passion to grow and get better but he needed more than to simply cut his body he needed to show him he was serious about putting his resolve behind him in one daring move. This should determine if it was even worth it jumping on the boat and taking such a trip out of his way out here with no way back until his training was completely finished without a doubt. This was the lions den and he took the wrong step now he must survive from this beast that is in isolation. Quickly charging at Sero he took it in for a second the words that were said once more he was not willing to be weak but his heart was built differently as it saw honor and respect in a duel. Sero’s obviously did not it his saw the truth of battle when friends die right beside you and can’t do nothing to save them from this sort of death. A death that allows them to see one final view of their comrade crying or looking down on them with a concern face but has none of the tools to save their life. That must have been the worse type of death to see and probably the worse to experience dying in a friend's arms leaving all your hopes and dreams to whoever cared to honor them.

It seemed that is what Burittsu was doing taking the honor and compassion of Genbu and putting it into his own code it probably messed him up but he did see the light at some point. Instead of the usual darkness if it meant going back to such a place to regain himself and confidence it would be a hard task but one that would benefit him in the end of it all. His body was already moving but his mind moved faster everything felt slow around him as he moved to his target. But he felt his feet each step pressed upon the ground and he knew the training was not meant for Sero but meant for himself to actually cross the line that has been splitting him all this time. And in two steps it was over but it felt like the hardest choice of his life reverting back to pure anger and hate he still had a brain which was a good reminder to him not to do anything completely crazy. Coming up with a swift jab with the blade using his left hand he aimed for the chest of the male actually attempting to pierce the blade into his chest. His right hand came from underneath quickly forming chakra into the hand growing claws made out of ice each about two inches long exactly.

“Mhmm!”

He aimed for the side of the male the same exact side that Sero cut him to be exact as if it was some sort of payback to his teacher not to just doubt him or his code that he followed. This was his way of his way of showing his teacher that he was willing to follow the rules but do it in his way allowing him to become the shinobi he actually wanted to be. Or so he thought he didn’t know anything about Sero but if he was ever determined to be beat this demon he would have to let go of the honor and fight like his life depended on it. At this point Burittsu didn’t feel no remorse or regret for attempting to this attack if it was to make him stronger and prove a point to Sero that can put the honor and code behind him. Very well he would plunge himself into darkness once more to gain the strength for the next day to come and so on. Looking up into Sero’s eyes he could only smile as he attempted his best.

“I regret nothing.”

Sero

S-rank
Sero would note the burning passion in the cold boys eyes across from him. His own heat was pressing across the field and yet the boy held his ground. His frozen island standing resolute against impossible odds. How many stories had he read like this growing up in seclusion? How many heroes stood when no one else would? How many of them rose against the tide and refused to drown within it? Sero had no illusions he was such a hero. He had taken on a much different role. The demon who leashed itself to a master in order to protect its territory. The demon the people hated, feared and avoided. He always provided a service to the people but from the shadows because the truth was he enjoyed his work. Killing was something most found regrettable, yet the act of hunting down his prey was endless amusement for him. In truth a part of the demon despised his winter opponent standing against him in the spring. Despised how he was capable of being the hero. Despised how he could become what Sero never had the option of being. So much of him wanted to clip those wings. Bring him down to his hell.

However that was not the purpose of Buri being there. It was to grow and train. He held his blade defensively in front of his chest. A good point for it one likely found instinctively. From the chest he could defend in any direction within the same amount of time. He didn't expose one side while defending the other constantly. Sero himself flicked his blade up so he held it with the handle at his chest and the blade pointed up. Holding it in front of his face in a duel salute. Before swishing it down so he held it extended in front of himself. The point directed at burritsu with a half bent arm. His other hand wrapped behind himself to curl into a fist in the small of his back. His form was tall and yet he waited. He could see the hero would not simply wait. He was eager to attempt something. Blood red eyes met the burning passion within the deep blue. For a moment neither side moved as sizzling hot stage met frozen ground. Mist began to form along the floor of the ring. The time was coming soon the two would clash. For his own survival he would show the student bravery was easily a word used to cover foolishness. Mostly on an obituary.

Finally his student charged and began a series of attacks. Keeping his distance this time as he kept the range of the blade in mind it seemed. However to Sero this seemed like wasted energy. He was swinging wildly in all appearances with a weak grip. Each time with a flick of Sero's wrist the blow would be parried and knocked back. Each time it came again and once more sparks flew as weapon met weapon. It was tempting to disarm him but Sero was curios as to what this young man was building towards. What these feints were lowering Sero's guard for. Red eyes kept attention on the other moving parts of the man. Arms and legs. Keeping distance between them. Something was coming and he was aware of it. Any opponent should be. No one focused pointless attacks without reason. Finally Burritsu went in for a straight jab and suddenly his other hand sprouted frozen claws. With a frown as the man went in for a two handed attack Sero lifted his own free hand. Pale fingers moving out like a striking snake to grab the wrist holding the blade and hold it fast. The rapier in his other hand shifted and pointed downward. The tip of it driving down at the incoming arm with the claws to drive into the forearm like nail and slam down. The tip piercing in as deep as it could. With that attack to counter Sero would hold him there if he landed it. Speaking to him with his wrist in Sero's left hand and Sero's blade in his other arm. Blood running down from the wound. With that Sero would open his mouth again. His dull voice echoed with some distant sound like others repeating his words Burritsu could not see. All three red eyes watching him. The center eye though was watching his hands. Looking separate from the other two.

"Where you went wrong, a simple thing to consider and yet not always apparent. Perhaps it was the constant attacks or the frontal assault? Perhaps you hoped I would underestimate your free hand and focus only on the blade. In battle tunnel vision is death. A two pronged attack was good but you started at my range. If I have the superior range, as I do with the rapier, You must get within it before you attack. You must strike from your optimal range, not your opponents. If you get within the radius my blade defends my movements become far more limited."

Sero would quietly release the boys wrist and yank the Rapier blade free as he shifted like a specter to the other side of the ring again. Burning foot steps in his wake as he walked or rather glided backwards. Blood stained rapier held up at the ready again. Held in front of him with the tip pointed at Burritsu while his arm was crooked. Once more his pale left hand slunk behind his back. Hidden from view. There he waited with blood red eyes waiting. The smell of blood in the air now. The smell he knew so well. This was home.

In only a few moves it was over found himself being pulled in two directions as a sharp pain gathered all his attention to his right arm the blade was clean and pierced right through it. As his left wrist was merely being held like a toy by his enemy the pain shot and screamed throughout his body. He opened his mouth the sound of agony didn’t make an appearance it was all planned Sero was always a step ahead and was only toying with Burittsu. He continued to look the man his eyes in nothing but pain he asked the man not to hold back to making him grow and become stronger and he received his answer. The warmth of his blood drooled out slowly as if it was being pushed out by some force dripping on the ground it had appeared this game was being played. At his speed and Burittsu would only keep on playing till all of his pieces were off the board and he no other moves to attempt to lay down on this demon of a teacher. He had his own plan to grow stronger but if it meant blowing pass this obstacle in his way he was glad to do so whatever meant for him to gain enough power.

Feeling the ever lasting sting of the blade it set in almost feeling normal it took him to some place far but near as he watched Sero’s mouth begin to move. As the words bounced off his brain of how he was now getting taught a valuable lesson about the range of his attack and how the essence of only focusing on one key thing in battle spelled death. After such a speech about his faults and where he messed up he left hand was released as the sting of blade left leaving a large gash in his arm now he faced a new challenge make it before the lack of blood took its toll on him. Crawling towards the blade that was given the sound of droplets hitting the ground grew louder to him as each time he moved. The blood would be forced out of his arm he couldn’t focus on such trivial matters the enemy now looked down on him as if he was weak which in this case he was now the blade was a good tool.

But he never saw any interest in it grabbing the blade indeed it was his only defense against this beast but he was willing to keep on fighting till he passed out giving up was never a choice. Nothing to wrap his arm with to at least slow down the bleeding and he knew nothing about it but if this was a test to see him battle it out then so be it. With the blade in his left and his right arm unable to be useful anytime soon he had no choice but to engage in combat with the male using one arm. The passion in his eyes did not run it remained as the fire in his soul burned more to grow stronger no matter what time of damage and injuries he sustained he was willing to become the warrior. Taking a step forward he held the blade out in a defensive like form once more placing it at his chest maybe allowing to block some moves of the demon as well learn to actually fight a swordsman. Sero indeed was right out here in the world as a hand to hand fighter he needed to learn how to handle weapon specialties even the swordsmen who inhabit the village each crafted with their own skill and determination. All wanting to strive to be part of the seven who dominated as swordsmen in and out the village feared by all but also respected.

His blue eyes stared long and deep into those blood lusting devouring eyes that were Sero’s window to his soul he saw nothing but eventually something would emerge no one could ever be so dark and lonely. Standing up straight as the air went in and out of his lungs more slowly he began to inhale in and out relaxing himself and slowing down his blood flow to his heart the more he would stress and move the more blood would continue to pump. So he remained motionless this time it was Sero’s turn to come for the attack an attack that indeed had a high risk of landing. Burittsu needed to learn how to gain and lose and this match was lost from the beginning they both knew but he could only keep going thriving to push forward and become better with each passing moment. He did stumble a little bit due to the shock and feeling of the blood loss but he continued to look death in his eyes. This wasn’t a story the pain was real and the situation was only going to get worse all he was allowed to do at this moment was learn from his mistakes.

“C’mon more.. I know you got more underneath your belt give it to me don’t hold back from me.. Don’t you dare hold back..”

Was he out of his mind asking for more the answer was simple he lust for the power and skill to get him through life and allow him to reach his goal. This beating was only one of the first he would be taking in order to gain such knowledge and skill. He knew without a doubt Sero would come and deliver a series of actual blows and eventually he would almost crumble and fall to his knees. His will on the other hand burned brighter than any candle in pitch darkness it was his beacon of hope and he was willing to continue to walk into that darkness until he found what he was looking for in this case. The power to defeat Sero at the very moment he had nothing underneath his belt to even match up with such raw power but he could only hope. Standing in front of his teacher with the blade close to his chest and the blood dripping off his fingers onto the floor he only had the will to continue on with training.

“Come at me..”

Sero would watch his would be student as he moved away. His red eyes betraying nothing of his intentions. It was a strange thing keeping his blood lust in check. A battle had always been a thing to die with. Kill or be killed. And yet here and now he had been granted a chance to teach. He had been taken over the responsibility of another clan member he didn't even respect and yet he didn't feel any irritation towards it. This boy was the responsibility of his clan. He was the purpose of Sero for the day and with him came a great deal of responsibility to get through. He needed to keep him alive and at the same time force his growth. His constant smile seemed to indicate he was a bit of a masochist at least. Sero would let his three eyes drift to the blood dripping from the boys arm. He hadn't meant to dig all the way through. Perhaps he needed to slow it down just a tad. A slow breath and a steady mind. It was important for him to keep himself centered. If something pushed him into his usual state. If something shoved him over the edge...His thoughts shifted slightly to Maigo. A vision of Maigo nailed to the ground screaming in rage. That had been a mistake. Not his actions leading up to that but maiming another village nin so fully. Hopefully this wouldn't be another case like that one. He had no reason to be angry.

After all the young man had felt the sting of challenging him. Now he was sure to be able to continue the lesson. Sero had been challenged and returned the challenge with blood. He could smell it in the air as it stained the stone. Another bleach treatment was likely in store for it. He was still aware of Burritsu's movements but he could afford to be slightly distracted. Burritsu was forming up his guard again but this time letting his arm hang at his side. Not forcing movement into it and centering himself again. This was good of course. He wasn't panicking. Sero would be sure to encourage that later. However he listened as Burritsu spoke yet again. His eye brows lifting and his eyes widening. What was this? He was being challenged again? Had Burritsu not learned from the previous wound? How dare he insist on everything Sero had. To speak to him as if he couldn't dare do something such as holding back. Sero's thin lips pulled back a little bit as a growl picked up in the air. He was struggling not to do just that. To use the height of his power would wipe this man from this plain. Not an ash would be left of him. Not a single spot for fifty meters would still be standing. That was what he was suggesting and yet Sero was calm enough not to use that. Nor anything close to it. In fact he was careful enough not to use any chakra at all. His voice echoing within the growl spreading over the area.

"You demand I do not dare, as if me holding back were some sort of insult...your pride goes to far Burritsu. However I will teach you the depth of the mistake you have just made. You need to learn to deflect weapons and so, weapons will be provided for you to deflect until you can do so no longer."

With that Sero would raise his hand not holding his sword up over his head with the palm up. His red eyes narrowed as a cloud began to grow over them. Mist forming up and blocking out light as shadow spread across the area and blocked out the sun above them. Like a storm cloud coming in it growled with life. Burritsu would be able to feel it. A terrible thing was coming his way. Something beyond what the training had suggested so far. It was only by the grace of sanity that Sero opted not to kill him. That he only would use the E rank arrows. Above them in the sky arrow heads would emerge slowly from the cloud. falling two or three at a time as Sero shifted his hand back down towards Burritsu. Dozens began to fall then. Where ever Burritsu moved the arrows would fall from the sky. Slamming down and either clattering to the side if they missed him or sticking into the cracks. What appeared to be an endless wave of arrows simply rained down over him. Sero wasn't giving it his all but he was going over the top now.

Burittsu

Most likely he was being a greedy child asking for more on his plate but couldn’t finish off the first helping of food that was given to him the tone of Sero remained stern and serious. Even the feeling of something horrible was coming towards his way he could only focus on the movements of Sero not knowing what he was doing. Looking around like some sort of lost animal waiting around for an attack from his teacher he didn’t like it one bit the situation increased forcing him to rely on survival skills. It was all worth it it took time as he realized nothing was actually coming from any of his sides until he looked up seeing a black line shoot across the sky aiming towards him.

It was easy to reflect off to the side with an easy swing but it was only the first of many as the sky itself grew darker as the light slowly dimmed away he was introduced to hell itself. They came by the dozens probably even more ready to teach Burittsu a lesson his right arm was still not in good enough shape to help him out and he only had one arm. It was obvious he could only reflect some of the arrows until one slipped through and got him. So he did the obvious he ran as the arrows followed him dropping into the ground behind as the blood pushed and forced its way out of his wounded arm it was all planned. Looking at Sero he could only wonder what was going through his mind right now he didn’t see a goal to make him proud but he would at least make the male proud of the improvement.

He turned running towards the male in hopes the arrows would indeed follow him and lead them towards Sero. The rest would unfold themselves he wanted to fight but it was obvious that his arm needed a look at and time to recover it was incredible that this was the man that could push him. Making him smarter in a way on and off the battlefield he would be one surely missed too bad Burittsu didn’t have much time left to get to know him more. As the sound of feet clapping against the ground at what he thought was good enough speed he wanted to see an end to this before things grew worse for him.

Sprinting towards Sero he held a large grin upon his face growing closer to Sero before revealing the blade that was given to him earlier. It was already too late to turn back so if he was going to go out he might as well do it in a fashion of respect knowing he would go down swinging. Revealing the blade that was given to him before the match actually began he aimed for this right kneecap releasing it from his grip throwing it in hopes it would be enough to draw his attention. As he grew closer the pain from his arm shot the pain couldn’t be ignored so he considered this his final move either Sero was gonna take him down or the arrows would it didn’t matter now. He was pleased with what he accomplished today he learned something with this guy it was bothersome that the two wouldn’t be able to become true partners and comrades. He was weak just like the time the sannin came and attacked him and Wolfgang but this time he was holding his own instead of running away he was willing to face death as many times as needed.

As for his arm it was his number one priority something that needed to be taken care of and by the looks of it Sero proved his point hard and valid to Burittsu even if defeat was a hard blow. What he learned from here it was better to use your head and plan things out instead of being rash and uncaring and so he did that his final move as his vision began to blur was all but simple. It crushed his soul to very bottom hurt his pride more than ever but he learned a valuable lesson the world had nothing but death around every corner it was best to think with his head instead of a code or honor. Respecting Sero for his time Burittsu came to a slow stop in front of him looking him in the eyes with the grin on his face before bowing all the way. The pain and hole would heal on his arm but the scar would never vanish it would be a reminder of this day that he met a great person in general but learned more valuable lessons. Some didn’t deserve honor or respect on the battlefield it was simple killed or be killed and so he let out his left hand as he refrained from moving his right arm. His left hand was open as he got down on one knee leaving his head bowed and hand out in front of Sero.

“I accept defeat Lord Sero.. I failed but I thank you for the honor of learning from you this very day..I’ll grow stronger from the lessons of today but for now may we end this so I can go get my arm looked at?”

The grin upon his face remained probably his way of coping with the loss of this battle but the pain of his arm only grew worse as he held down the grin. Another battle seemed to fall straight through his fingers he felt like a failure in the overall statement but once more he was reminded by looking at his arm. That the outcome of the scar that would form on his arm would one day be worse he could very well lose his arm or maybe another limb due to the fact he failed to realize his honor was what blinded him. Feeling the tears attempting to push out from his eyes he only held his left hand up higher in hopes Sero would accept his defeat by this time his vision began to jump in and out of focus. He had no emotion on his face the grin seemed to fade away it was not a laughing matter anymore he needed to grow stronger.

“Please accept my surrender or defeat doesn’t matter you won this one Lord Sero..”

Sero would watch as the young man would await his movement. Seeking to lure Sero into an attack. Defense was not yet supposed to be a lesson. Today's lesson was to get within range to attack safely. Defense was for another time. Perhaps live weapons had been a poor choice and yet Sero cared little. This young man had challenged him. So he was answering in full. Or rather not in full but to a sufficient level. The boy looked up just in time to deflect the first of the arrows. Lengthened kunai met arrow and easily knocked it to the side. Clattering away. As the arrow hit the ground and clattered a second later it faded into mist as the trail of mist joined the cloud above. It was then they began to pour down. Blades as small as they were falling from above were dangerous. One or two barely sticking into the skin here and there were of little danger. A small bleeding wound and of little consequence. However the more that fell the more the target would bleed out and the higher chance of something vital being damaged. Such as the eyes or neck. Burittsu had asked the lesson be moved to another level and so he had it. A slow death raining down over him.

He was wise to quickly begin to run from the spot he had been in as it became coated in arrows before they too faded to mist and returned to the cloud above only to emerge again. Dozens rained down after him in his wake as Sero opted to shift his hand. Arrows rained down behind Burittsu and to his left and right. Forcing him down the narrow path straight at Sero waiting with sword aimed at him. Elbow bent slightly. All around him a slow death fell and in front of him a quick death waited. Sero watched the young man reach forth and release his weapon ahead of himself by some distance. Too far to take advantage of it. Calmly Sero watched the blade fly at his knee as he kept his free hand directed to the unsealing and resealing of the arrows. With his sword however he swished the blade down into a well aimed stab to catch the kunai by the loop at the back of it and with a ringing sound it swished around his rapier as he flicked it back up. It too faded to mist.

Still as he would redirect his blade ready to slice into Burittsu once more he would calmly note the boy sliding forward on his knee's and stopping short. His good hand raised with the palm up in surrender. He spoke of accepting his defeat and Sero agreed. He had given up his weapon at an inopportune time and as a result no longer had much hope of completing the assignment of the day. He was correct though about his arm needing attention. That was a difficulty but not one he wasn't familiar with. Yasuo not being available though meant he needed to make it to the mainland. With a frown Sero flicked the blood off his own weapon before sheathing it. Always keeping one weapon on himself. In silence he moved over as the cloud above broke and the arrows faded away into mist and then nothing. Without reverence Sero grabbed the boys injured arm with his left hand and held it straight. Speaking without remorse.

"This will hurt but you will be able to return to the mainlands hospital where they can undo what I have done."

With that he aimed the index finger of his right hand at the wound. A small flame forming and floating in front of the finger. A warning of what Burritsu was about to experience. No sooner had the revelation come though did Sero fire off the first fireball. The fire hitting the top of the wound and burning out there singing the top of the skin closed. Without waiting Sero fired a second one at it to ensure it would remain seared shut before flipping the arm and repeating both shots to the underside. It was like being branded four times. No matter how much Burittsu struggled any attacks would be knocked away or dodged and he could not remove himself from Sero's grasp until it was done and Sero released him. Rising to his feet and speaking.

"You will learn to grasp how to approach an armed opponent in time. Remember to use your weapon as a shield to get within their range. Attack only when you are within yours. It is far more difficult to swing a sword at someone within a foot of you. Much more difficult to defend against them in hand to hand. Go to the hospital now. While you recover compile a list of your Suiton jutsu. When you return Suiton Ninjutsu shall be the next lesson."

It was a brief warning before feeling the tight squeeze of Sero’s hand on his enjoyed arm he clenched down in pain but even that was bother he didn’t even need to fight he was out classed in many ways. He just hung there as if he was a prize not knowing what would be done to him but he did feel the sensation of heat looking up at Sero he couldn’t even fight back. The heat itself was enough to sting let alone the injury he took it was obvious the male only wanted to help so Burittsu let him do his job. Closing his eyes in readying himself for the pain and it came to him hot and fast but the burns and sting lasted. Each time the fire touched his skin it felt like a pain of hell but one he endured clenching his fist and pounding on the ground as he wound was sealed up for now.

And his arm was released from the incredible grip of this shinobi the whole time this was going on a tear did release itself slipping through the crack of his eyelid falling straight to the ground. He forced himself up using his left hand pushing off the ground as he leaned back for a mere second the loss of blood was too take. His head began to spin as he fell back once more on the ground he was badly damaged not physically but mentally he threw his life countless of times at Sero.

Like it was his only choice to die even he didn’t know his own problem it was a bad way to go committing suicide head on just so when they wrote his name on the stone wall. No one could ever say he ran from a battle and respect would live on with his name but if respect meaning his life would end short without him even living long enough to see his dream come true. He needed a new plan and a new way to go about living instead of always living on the edge of the sword ready to take fall and get split in half by the sword. The lessons would always be remembered but what did catch his attention when Sero himself told him to get ready for the next session.

He felt as if the male did care somewhat about the boy and it was felt deep down he probably didn’t show emotion on the outside but Sero in his body somewhere had a soft spot. Was it because he came from another clan member who took care of him well whatever it was to make him like this. It was simple that he would or would not leave he did have things to get done with and his own personal agenda but it didn’t matter to him anymore. Finding himself back on this island could be a possibility he was helping him grow and mature into a better fighting machine. That is when it clicked in his mind anyone could be a fighting machine those who fought on the battlefield as if they were imprisoned. Killing and maiming all who stood in their way until their former selfs was forever lost imprisoned in a fake shell of them. Lusting for blood and battle until one day their own friends are the ones who have to cross the line to put down this beast even though they do not want too they did it to protect themselves.

The message was loud and clear as he got himself to stand up once more on his feet this time smiling face to face with his teacher before bowing his head once more and turning back starting this long journey back to the mainland. But it did click in his mind the journey would be long journey through his life and probably wondering to himself if the world was like how it was years back. When he left the village for a little bit with Wolfgang but things were different now he remained quiet and turned around once more looking back at Sero before raising his left hand once more giving him a thumbs up. Just like before the grin on his face was generic he was pleased in fact with the teaching as he continued to walk off back deep inside the of dark forest he once used to fear. But as he looked closer the large spiders didn’t his or follow like they did once before. Waiting on the dock for an hour it seemed the ferry would never return but it did looking down at the driver checking if it was the same from before only gave him hope that the outside world didn’t deserve such a cruel fate.

“Missed all the fun old man we had a fire, and camping trip..”

Taking a step onto the ferry he sat down in a quick rush making sure he had enough time to go back to the mainland and make it the hospital. The ferry itself was quickly dragged back into the mist swallowed and surrounded by the mist he was once more alone in the world but now he knew whenever he need it he could take a short trip to the island. It was a nice journey indeed he felt like he found himself more and more each second on that island and when meeting Sero didn’t just excite him he found the male interesting. From the way he carried himself around to the amazing power he had underneath a flick of a finger some of the things that he did reminded him of a magic show it but it was real. The pain itself was real enough every second and moment nothing was fake and that was the male who he wanted to surpass. As his day dreaming turned the hour ride into something of a matter of minutes a enjoyable ride as the ferry stopped on the dock. Having Burittsu get off and begin his walk back into the forest and towards the village with nothing but his head held up high, a grin on his face, and hope in his heart.

“One day..Sero one day..”

Sero would watch quietly as the young man would falter in his pride finally. Pain had a way of doing that to people. Still Sero didn't seem to hold it against him. Pain was a foreign feeling to him but he had observed it all his life. Born from a world burning to ashes. A father dead and a mother gone was his first memories. Even if his nerve endings were dead he remembered shattering inside time and time again. He had lost that feeling so long ago. Replaced it with dedication and wrath. Seasons passed and Sero trained. Breaking his body in order to reform it time and time again. Only by breaking down the old could the new be brought forth. He would watch as Burittsu would rise again. Blood staining him and the ground where he had laid. Grey eyes watched him smile and bow before limping away. What an odd creature was all Sero could think. The boy who wished to be the monster....wishing to grow in strength even by losing himself. Sero had met few who would sacrifice as much. How odd it was that a student of his enemy would rise to such an occasion. Even as the boy limped away he would gaze after him. His red eye returning to normal in his head and fading away into a mere crescent moon shape. The world less muffled and cruel.

Sero would stand as still as a statue watching until Burittsu was gone. Down the road and into the mist. He wasn't at a level to be released on his own yet. However that would be up to the boy. Sero held to duty as others held to their loved ones. It was all he ever had and all he could comprehend. For so long the world had been just this island and how empty that world had been. He recalled the sadness and rage as a distant memory but now felt none of it within him. That was a part of him elsewhere. A part of him thought Burittsu would return. No other man looked at duty the way Sero did but pride was at stake. If Burittsu quit now it would mean he had released the Osada clan from their responsibility over him. It would mean his pride had finally faltered. Sero would smirk ever so slightly at the concept. Pride enough to charge at him time and time again would not be broken so easily. He had seen that fire in his eyes. Had witnessed it burning and even as he tried to smother it somehow it survived him. Sero turned then and moved to the manor. Retiring from the blood soaked stage for the day. He would return, Sero was sure of it.
