Ryo looked around the location that he was at wondering where his teammate was. Finally, the Kazekage had partnered him up with another shinobi, the only downside was that it was only the two of them, and they didn’t have a sensei to lead them or train them in any way. Still, there wasn’t much to be done about it. So he decided that he would meet his new teammate and see what he could tell him, and to judge his character. Ryo couldn’t deny that there was indeed some form of excitement building up within himself and there would be more to come he was sure. After all, he knew that he would be able to do more missions now that he was a member of a team.

He wondered just what kind of skills his teammate would have and how he would contribute to the team. Ryo had ninjutsu and his masterful art of Puppetry, but there were some serious flaws in it. He had very little close combat experience, and he was certainly in a place that would cause him to be placed in tight spots being that he couldn’t counter some kinds of attacks.  So if he could fill the gaps in Ryo’s defense he would be happy to have him along. That is if he wasn’t one of those annoyances in life who insisted on making Ryo’s list

He decided that he would have to be patient and wait until he met his teammate before he rendered any such judgement so he waited for the other Shinobi to arrive.

So finally, Kisei got placed into a team. Well depending- Nope. No question about it. Things were going to get interesting from here on out. He shivered from the thought of being a part of a team. He had always prefered working alone. No one to judge him, no one to judge himself, it was a good system. However the will of the kazekage was absolute, so long as it played in his favor that is. Though amused at the thought he squashed it down all the same. The prospect of rebellion was too tempting already, he shouldn't try and encorage the idea.

He pulled his hood up, covering his messy bedhead. Tilting his head slightly to the right so his one working eye could still see. But between his long hair poking his ong good eye and the restricting cloth over his head keeping him blind it wasn't worth the trouble to keep his hood up and ultimately ended up taking it down again, when a thought ran through his head out his hair. "Oh, right." He said. Swinging his umbrella over his shoulder, and with a small click it sprang open. The shade was adequate enough so he didn't complain. Blinking a couple of times his eyes quickly adjusted.

Now if he was correct, his new partner should be around here somewhere. Only problem was that he didn't know what they looked like! I suppose that I would have to sniff them out somehow. I could walk around asking people if they recently got appointed to a squad recently, or... "I could do this..." he shrugged. Subtlety was not his style anyway. He leapt upward, pushed toward the sky like a rocket, then all of a sudden, not. "Heyo team mate!" Kisei shouted in the air. Hopefully they would notice that. And not what would be happening next.

"Oh dear", now he was free falling from three times his height. For a ninja with no acrobatics training this was the hard part.

Ryo watched the crowd to try and spot anyone who looked like they were coming to meet him. Of course, he couldn’t really tell anything like that from the passing glances that he was getting from everyone around him. He tapped his foot as he started to get slightly impatient with this. He was ready to meet his new teammate and get some work done if nothing else. Yet, there wasn’t going to be anything like that if the jerk didn’t arrive. As he stood there tapping his foot he slowly started to wonder if he didn’t know whom he was looking for if the other knew.

This was unlikely so that did indeed save a lot of what Ryo was feeling so he decided he would be patient. Then the air was ripped apart with the sound of someone shouting out “Heyo Teammate!” This was enough to make him look around and then up at someone with an umbrella in free fall. His eyes went wide and he had to make a guess this lunatic was his teammate. He was now falling like a rock back down to earth having blasted himself up into the air by some means. Ryo’s heart dropped as he rushed forward as fast as he could standing himself under the free falling youth. It was almost like a cartoon, but Ryo was able to catch him somewhat; all he really did was create a cushion for the boy to land on. He caught him and slowed him just enough before letting himself crumple down under him.

With a grunt of pain and the feeling that he would indeed be bruised he looked at the boy who he caught and growled “You…insane…lunatic…what the hell?!” he gasped as he struggled to sit up and push the kid off of himself “A-are you really the one who I’m supposed to work with? What was that all about?!”

This is some soft ground, kinda squishy. He placed his weight on his elbows, crushing something quite bony, and rib like under him. Of course he had already an idea of what had happened but Kisei thought to take some advantage of the situation. Kisei smiled greatly, on the inside. Not wanting to elicit any further ire from his to-be-partner, assuming that this skeleton of a boy was really the one he was looking for.

“Great job with the landing pad, but I suggest you add some muscle, or fat, much to many bones in that body of yours.” Kisei grinned. Flipping over to the side he dusted himself off with his free hand, the opposite one still with a tight grip on his umbrella. His eyes were relaxed, scanning the surface for any sign of damage. Kisei knew that a tiny fall like that wouldn’t so much as make a scratch, however it was good to know either way. Idly he wondered whether or not to help his team-mate up but thought better on it.

Starting to attract attention, great. He thought sarcastically. A quick glance proved true. Out of the corners of his vision he could almost place the stares and pointing hands as ‘just my imagination’. Time to get the show on the road.

Looking down on his rescuer he tisked. White as paper, poor body almost looked starving, or sick at least. The white hair couldn’t be natural. Could it? Interesting indeed, but not noteworthy. Stabbing the tip of his weapon into the sand under him he fancied it a cane and leaned on it. He started, “I will respond to your objections…” stopping when he couldn’t find the right words. “....chronologically, as you might say.”(?) He finished, slightly doubtful with his choice. “Watch the language captain,” His voice slick with mock shock, but geniune delight. Just a tiny bit amused, toying with people was always so. A few seconds later Kisei’s features hardened. Seriousness taking place in the stead of politeness. “And off course I’m not insane, yet, I would’ve been booted out if that was the chase.” He shook his head. “‘Case’, sorry.”

With a flourish and twist he brought back the umbrella to his side. “As for working with you, I suppose that would depend on you. Did the Kazekage assign you a ‘partner’ recently?”

Ryo hissed in anger as he heard the comments about his body “My body is fine, you worry about your own being that you seem so quick to throw your own life away with your insane moving around. Have you lost your mind?” he demanded as he started to get back up to his feet checking himself for any injuries. He would be feeling the landing in the morning, but there wasn’t anything broken or seriously injured at all. There was no need for him to be so worried, but he was not happy with being landed upon and it was not going to be a good start to their relationship.

He sighed as he looked and listened to the youth making sure that he had a good idea of just what and who he was looking at. He tilted his head in the same manner he would use to inspect a puppet wondering just what he was going to do with this person and just what he had to offer. Hearing the bit about not being insane he chuckled shaking his head “There really is no way of making that statement for sure. Besides you never know what may make someone a ninja, and insanity is not always a negative. If it can be constructive, but you cannonballing into the sky with no clear way to save yourself doesn’t qualify as useful.” He chided before sighing softly “yes the Kazekage assigned me to a partner recently. Not a full squad yet, but it’s a start. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Ryo Knetegawa, of the Knetegawa clan. Puppetry and Ninjutsu are my talents. You are?” he asked dusting himself off clearing the dirt and sand from his clothes.

Kisei sighed, “It was only five meters, I would’ve survived.” He huffed out, like the fact was obvious. Kisei twisted his head ever so slightly to the right. Letting his one good eye properly examine the white-haired youth, his partner doing much the same to Kisei. Looking back to the first few seconds of their encounter he felt a twinge of guilt in his chest, more pity than guilt truthfully. His reaction was normal, I suppose. Most people would spend more time grumbling about being crushed by a free-falling teen but Ryo recovered quite nicely. At least on the outside.

The black haired ninja listened intently. Devising a response when Ryo had finished. The Isanity topic seemed like a good conversastion starter but honest it was beginning to tire him. Insane or not, that didn’t reall matter to Kisei. He’d still be himself, mostly, so he’d cross that bridge when he came to it. Focusing back to the matter at hand, introductions. “My name is Kisei…” Lightly boobbing his head he tried to find which words to say. “Well there isn’t much to say really, like I said, my name’s Kisei. I’m your partner. And I specialize in, exotic, items.” More like unique items. No other chakra tech as been found present in this world so that meant Kisei had a headstart in mastering these complex weaponry. Though looking back on what was said, Ryo mentioned puppetry, curious…. Now that would something interesting indeed. “So now that the introductions are over, what is next?” he asked plainly, boredom taking over. "Unless you have any other questions?"

Ryo looked the one up and down with a raised eyebrow wondering just what kind of person he was going to be partnered with. Still, if the Kazekage decided they should work together then it was what he was going to do. He crossed his arms flinching slightly from the action as he noticed the pain in his chest for the first time. Something was probably bruised or broken, but that pain would keep and he had no time for it at the moment.

Kisei was an interesting name, but there didn’t seem to be a clan name, or surname coming. He figured this was intentional as someone didn’t often forget to include the name of their clan, or where they came from. So, this Kisei didn’t want Ryo to know his clan name, well that’s fine. Ryo didn’t mind it in the slightest some people were secretive, but if this guy was going to keep secrets from him then Ryo would do well to keep some secrets of his own. For now, he bowed his head slightly looking to the Umbrella “Well, someone who specializes in exotic items, and then of course, me the Puppeteer. Looks like our squad will be quite the equipment heavy one. Still, we shall make it work I am sure. We just need a third and a sensei and we shall have everything in order.” He shrugged his shoulders as he was asked about what happened after introduction and looked around “Well, I’m not sure what is supposed to happen or what should happen in all honesty. I’m not very good with this whole meeting new people thing. However, I have no more questions, but if you have any questions for me then please ask them. I’m an open book for comrades and the members of my village.” He said simply a hand resting on his hip, the other going to the scroll harness where one scroll hung on his right thigh snuggly secured to the leather harness.

Kisei thought over Ryo’s words. “Hm….” He hadn’t considered the what this new relationship might cost him. Well as long as he wasn’t crazy on shopping he’d be fine. He thought it over in his mind, the weapons master, and the puppeteer. Should be interesting. What would this team accomplish? That would depend. On the tiny, white haired boy in front of him and Kisei himself. The sun was blazing throughout they’re interlude and like all deserts, the heat was nearly unbearable. With one swift motion he brought his umbrella above his head and made some shade for himself.

Upon Ryo’s prompt for questions Kisei was curious. In a good way. Unknown excitement built inside him like long awaited rain in the desert. A sort of ‘almost’ joy. Why? He didn’t quite know, but he had a small idea...“Well honestly if I had a but one question, I suppose I would settle on this-” Kisei paused. “-What would your response be to a little sparring match between the two of us sometime soon?”

Something interesting. Well nothing satisfied that other than combat. Sure, you get hurt, but it's fun after a while. Who didn't like a good beating? Perhaps it was just Kisei but these days he found himself with little to do but sit around, a little sparring match would be a wonderful bit of excitement to brighten his life.

Ryo wondered why this boy had an umbrella, but he decided that he wouldn’t press too much into it as of yet. He was sure that it would come out eventually, so there was no need to press the issue, or ask any questions right now. As soon as the question was asked he smiled slowly looking around where they were right at this moment “Well, sadly enough this isn’t the place for such a thing. However, I have the time to spar now if you are ready to do as much. We will need a change in local and hopefully that will eliminate any potential collateral damage.” He said as he looked around turning slowly on his heels “If you’d kindly follow me then we can engage in a bit of fun.” With that he began to walk down the road humming a tune to himself as he did so.

The walk wasn’t all that far away, and as soon as he arrived at the desired location he stopped and turned around. The location was a small sparring square, there were a few of these throughout the village that were just sandy lots, and they were used for sparring shinobi. Ryo took a position a good distance away from his new teammate; under the assumption that he had been following, slowly unrolling the scroll that was on his hip “Well, if you are ready then we are going to use this location to fight. I do hope that is alright with you.” He said simply before he placed a hand on the seal that was upon his scroll smiling as a puff of smoke covered him and left him standing there with a puppet at his feet.

With a slight bit of concentration, he attached strings to his puppet bringing it to life these strings were focused on the control of the puppet and would be his best bet if he wanted to fight with a weapon master who could indeed give him trouble. Now he was ready to do battle and he moved his puppet in front of him with a smirk his black wolf puppet looking very life like as if it was always meant to be a living animal “I would like you to meet my oldest son Kuro, we shall have to be careful I only just finished fixing him up from the last battle I was in. Please don’t break my Kuro, it’d be very terrible to have it happen.” He said in a very sympathetic voice as if he was genuinely asking for such a thing from his teammate.

Kisei suppressed a smile, only partly succeeded, when Ryo accepted his proposal. It was a spur of the moment idea, even Kisei didn’t quite understand his intentions behind it but was glad all the same, but the motives couldn’t be as important as the reality. Since the time of his decision to join the ninja of the Sunagakure he hadn’t had much chance for any kind of excitement. A bit disappointing. He had mostly kept to himself. He wasn’t really qualified for missions yet. So for the majority of his time had been spent in indecision on how to proceed.

So he thought to first learn about this world more closely. It was around that time he applied for a team. Imagine his hope and dreams, all “rainbows and candy”, turned to gray when he found out that his team was, barely even a team at all.

But every machine starts at the gears, just watch it evolve. Clearing his eyes from the memories he looked up to see that they had arrived at the location. Rather plain and unimpressive but that might work well. About ten paces in front of him stood his partner. Kisei grinned slightly. Admiring the contrast of the black dog to his white haired master.  “Nice to meet you Kuro, now I suggest you play nice, you’ll find that I can be interesting.” he taunted, ignoring Ryo’s warning.

It was Kisei’s move. He considered what options he had. Ryo the Puppeteer  vs. Kisei the Weapons specialist. As he looked into the creature’s eyes he did have difficulty deciding whether or not it was a puppet, odds were that it was though. He’d have to be careful, maybe he could draw this out. Neither knew much about the other, minus their specialties, and that would be Kisei’s strength. For what Ryo had in experience, Kisei made up for it, in his own, unique, fashion. The foreigner bit his lip. He’d have to hold back for now, too many unknowns, better to act on his opponent’s actions than to make the first move. “So whatcha waiting for? Shy are you?”He winked with his useless right eye.

He circled the pair counterclockwise, stopping when he was to Ryo’s left side. Still the same distance away. Opening his umbrella he cast some shadow over himself, already starting to overheat. “So, your move?”

Ryo wasn’t the kind of person to wait forever and certainly not the kind of person that would allow himself to be easily drawn out into a fight he wasn’t prepared for. However, he was extra careful because he loved Kuro as if he was a living son. He knew the quality of his work was impressive and he saw the look of confusion as Kisei tried to determine if Kuro was really a puppet or if he was a wolf. Either way it wouldn’t matter to Ryo and it certainly wouldn’t help Kisei if he knew one way or another.

With a flick of his wrists his wires began to move and he moved his fingers causing Kuro’s paws to move in the typical running fashion of a wolf. Ryo had done his homework and the movement was flawless as natural in appearance as a real wolf running. The puppet came rushing at Kisei with the full speed it could muster. When it was close to 3 meters away the pointer finger on Ryo’s left hand twitched and from the tail of the wolf slid a blade the sword added a little under a half a meter to the length of Kuro’s tail. Upon nearing Kisei even closer the ring finger on Ryo’s right hand twitched and the tail swiped through the air and aimed an attack at Kisei.

Being that he was a weapon master he would be able to see that the flat of the blade was the part that was coming to slash at him. Of course, Ryo had other tricks up his sleeves quite literally, but he wasn’t going to show them off just yet. This was a test of the defenses and Ryo was ready to either pull Kuro back should Kisei make fight, or press the attack should the weapon master hold his ground. Him putting his umbrella over his head made him a bit confused, but there was no reason to think that it wasn’t a hostile gesture because there was indeed a good chance that the umbrella was far more than it appeared to be and that would be just the right kind of thing for a weapon master to use an umbrella as more than just shelter. So Ryo kept a very close eye on it.

A direct charge? Somewhat elementary but I suppose that’s his current level. Its strange, although it was completely within reason to wind up with some gruesome injuries in a sparring match, Kisei was nearly void of all fear. Excitement and anticipation overshadowing all other feeling. The blade caught him off guard for a moment but Kisei was prepared. With a flick of the wrist and a jerk of the arm backward his extended umbrella now functioned as a makeshift shield. Adding a little fuuton chakra for extra effect, when Kuro’s tail blade impacted his umbrella it wasn’t Kisei that would be moving.

Starting with the tail, Kuro was thrown back toward Ryo. Somewhat violently. strange, definitely non-organic sounds emanating from Kuro as it touched back to the grounds. Luckily the puppet was unharmed, for now. Now was his time to respond. Leaving little time for Ryo to react, Kisei dashed forward his weapon slightly elevated. With but only six paces he found himself nearly staring down Kuro. Rolling his heel on the next half step his body seperated from the ground for a moment. Kisei was propelled forward, umbrella first, a light breeze left in his wake. Maybe Ryo would be surprised to have “escaped” unharmed.

Now two meters behind Ryo he was within range for proper attack. Although Kisei could’ve ended this match when he got to Kuro, it seemed unfair to do so, especially since their match had just started. No. He’d want to drag out this match a bit longer. “Huh, I missed. Lucky you.” Grounding his left foot he brought his right foot in a small semi-circle, returning to its natural position soon after. “So, is that all you got?” He questioned slyly. Though it seemed somewhat rude to taunt, and to actually try in this match, he really didn’t want to rough up his team mate too badly. Or he’d end up carrying him home.

Watching kuro be rebuffed in that way wasn’t entirely surprising, but it also was interesting. This meant that his teammate had some kind of shielding technique that Ryo would have to deal with. With this in mind he would have to be far more careful in the future. He easily maneuvered his puppet to land perfectly on his feet again. Of course, he wouldn’t stay there as both Ryo and Kuro were already on the move. It was natural to them to be moving and fighting as one so they rarely stayed still. The mark of a true puppeteer was how well one could avoid coming into direct conflict range of an opponent. Ryo’s speed and reaction time were both better than Kisei’s from what he could see and so watching his opponent rush towards Kuro was interesting.

As Kisei neared Kuro, Ryo twitched the same finger again and the blade made a lunging motion as if to impale the little weapon master. That was when he moved past Kuro using his Jutsu. Where he landed Ryo was already facing that direction and had put an extra two meters between them. He smirked as he shook his head slowly “I noticed that you weren’t actually going to aim at me. There was really no reason to worry. Not to mention i was already moving to make myself a harder target. I won’t fall for such simple ploys. Besides, I’ve only begun to play.”

Flicking his wrists Kuro took off as fast as his puppet parts were allowed and he surged forwards towards Kisei. Twitching his finger the sword began to slash in diagonal slashes left then right then left again. However with a twitch of his right pointer finger Kuro’s mouth dropped open and three Senbon shot out from his mouth flying straight at Kisei all the while Ryo moving to close the distance and keep right behind his puppet. He wouldn’t give himself to be an easy target for Kisei, thankfully his advanced training was going to work in his favor as he could last longer in a fight than Kisei from the looks of it. The heat would get to them both eventually, but that was a problem for later.

Less than a split second, Kurt was back, and Kuro was pissed. Being the talented ninja he was he was able to dodge the first blade with a quick thirst of the heel backward, but a second and third?  Both would leave thin cuts across his shirt and body. By this time Kisei had enough sense to und his umbrella to block whatever came next. Just in time too, at the last moment three precise pinpoints rang on the opposite side if his shield. His umbrella… alright... Time to stop playing around.

Swinging his weapon above him, he brought his arm out and yanked it closed. Bringing it around him to his left, and with all his might swung the umbrella. From the opposite end of the weapon hyper-compressed wind would slice everything in its path.  Strengthening his grip, Kisei whipped it back, another dose of razor wind following it’s completion. The dog and his master would have no way of escaping from point black range, also... “Puppets are only good when animated.” such a simple fact, would surely hurt after this. His last jutsu would disrupt Ryo’s puppet strings and force him to reattach them later. Positioning the end of his weapon partway between Kuro and Ryo, he pulled the trigger.  Being so close together had nearly guaranteed that Kisei would hit one of them. Ryo could try to animate Kuro then retreat but it would be futile, so would trying to dodge, but none could foretell the future. Perhaps he’ll pull off a miracle. His umbrella charged briefly before unleashing it in a destructive bolt of energy.

Kuro performed his function perfectly and the moment that Kisei raised his umbrella like a shield Ryo made his next move. Holding up one hand he focused his chakra and used his jutsu. This was his true power he was a puppet master who never neglected his Ninjutsu and had learned the skill of forming seals with only one hand. So, he focused his chakra into his mouth before he began to breath out a thick cloud of Mist swinging his head back and forth as he started to run around in a circle around Kisei gave him the ability to quickly help the fog disperse and give him a great smoke screen. Just before the fog clouded his own vision however he noticed the youth getting ready to swing his umbrella. With a snap of his hand he shot Kuro forward to slam the heavy wooden puppet into the other shinobi.

Thanks to the focused strings Kuro moved with the same speed and reaction that Ryo himself possessed which from the brief combat seemed to Ryo to be faster. Kuro was fast, but if the youth kept with his swing he would be caught full force by the tackle by Kuro. Even so he would get the first slash of razor wind off without a hitch and it would indeed slash through the strings that were attached to Kuro. If he decided to dodge the attack his swing would most likely go wide and miss the intended target. His charged attack could be saved in either event. In any case, Ryo was no longer right behind his puppet and already moving around behind Kisei with the mist jutsu he was using causing the two foes to no longer be able to see each other. Yet he would also willingly let the chakra strings fall away to free up his movement and make it harder to find him.

This didn’t bother Ryo as he had a jutsu that would home in on Kisei, but instead he had seen what he wanted and there wasn’t any reason for either to go on any longer. He inhaled slowly calming himself down before he moved about talking weaving himself backwards towards the outskirts of the fog which reached an impressive 15 meters around the two “Kisei, I think we have determined what we wanted. This has been a good spar, but we should stop before either of us gets seriously hurt. After all, we’re teammates we shouldn’t try to hurt each other. This was a simple test of each other, and I feel confident that you’re a very skilled teammate. What do you say?” Ryo asked as he already weaved the seals for his next Jutsu just in case Kisei wasn’t feeling cooperative.

Things, didn’t quite go along to the plan… It seemed that Ryo had some secrets he’d been holding out on. Mist began to spew from his mouth, like vomit, but, airy….? Running circles and spreading the mist/ ninjutsu!? Just before he released his jutsu the mist had already enveloped the Ryo. While one would expect the wind to amplify the mist, these were jutsu colliding, the first gust would disperse the mist, cancelling its effects. But as he geared up for his second gale Kuro slammed into him. Instead of taking the impact head-on he twisted his entire body counter-clockwise as Kuro made impact , slightly lessening the blow but still bruising. The black dog landed not to far back from his left side, now inanimate. But the weapon-master was still coiled to strike. With a single stroke of the bladed utility he blasted Kuro away.

Now the mist had started clearing up. Before him he could see Kuro, no major damage but noticeably scratched, laying lifeless on the ground. Behind him, fifteen meters from the two of them, was Ryo. Kneading hand-signs. Although he could hear Ryo speaking, the voice was warped, his meaning distorted by distance and the thunderous beating of his own heart. It seemed he wouldn’t be getting a break anytime soon.

“Bring it!” Raising his umbrella to his opponent once more, he was prepared for anything Ryo had coming. Without looking down Kisei could tell he was at a complete disadvantage. Not only in jutsu but also in physical capability. While Ryo had barely lifted a finger and probably still had a steady supply of chakra left Kisei was injured and by this point had expended more than half his chakra. Sneaking his free hand under his jacket he could feel blood. He forced himself not to wince when he accidentally pulled on one of his lacerations with his nails. He stuffed the bloody hand back in his pocket. A blue light would emit from his umbrella, warning everyone, before firing a bolt from the opposite end.

The fact that Kisei could disperse his mist with such for was impressive and Ryo had to admit that would be extremely problematic now. Still, he didn’t have the desire to continue on with this fight and it seemed that his desire to be ready was actually hurting him now. He swore loudly to himself, but decided that the best and only thing to do was to make it clear he didn’t want to fight anymore, and the way to do that was a simple one. He held up the single hand seal that he needed and his body flickered out of existence as the blast from the umbrella was sent his way. It was less than the blink of an eye and Ryo was now clear on the other side of the cleared-out space and actually sitting atop one of the buildings.

No sooner had he appeared there than he held up his arms in a giant ‘T’ shape hoping that his teammate would get the message of what he wanted to have happen. Calling out loudly he said “Kisei! Time out! Stop!” Ryo didn’t want to fight anymore. Not only because they were friends, but also because he was starting to run low on his bag of tricks and while he trusted Kisei as a teammate it was never a good idea to show all of what you could do unless you were planning to kill the witnesses who had seen your whole bag of tricks. In the village, there were too many eyes that could’ve seen everything and that probably saw a lot of it, and Ryo hated this idea so he’d rather not have to worry about it. Only once he was sure that Kisei got the message would he come down from the building. If he thought that Kisei would make fight at him still he would roll over and back further onto the roof and out of sight.

“Huh…” Were the last words Kisei said, before collapsing to the ground. Rather unceremoniously. The various cuts covering his front were starting to bleed through his clothes. Never before had he been in a real fight before. Or at least one where he actually had to try. Slow breaths escaped his lips, groaning as he tried to get back up. I should’ve ended this when I had the chance. Kisei thought bitterly. It was humiliating to have been so easily dominated, was this the extent of his abilities? Well then, there would be a lot of work to be done, but for another time. Right now he had a very important task. Forcing himself to kneel he reached into his coat’s inner left pocket. From it he produced a long white cloth, technically his spare pillowcase, yes it was a pillow case. He carries weird stuff in his pocket get over it. It took a bit longer than expected to impale the cloth on his umbrella but it was done. With his slipshod surrender flag he hoped to signal his intentions. “Surrender huh?” When he looked up to greet his opponent it was the first time he realized that Ryo had ditched him! “Oh come on!-” He started, before being plagued by a racket of coughs. “Freaking desert, sandy winds and all.” He coughed dryly.

Ryo smiled as he came down from the top of the building. He saw what his partner was doing and quickly rushed over towards Kuro. Quickly he sealed up his beloved Kuro back into the scroll with as much speed as he possibly could. Now that Kuro was back in his home Ryo rushed up to Kisei helping him to his feet “I’m glad you caught my signal. I didn’t want to keep fighting after all we both need to be ship shape for our missions together.” He said with a smile as he helped moved Kisei to the hospital “Well, I am very impressed. You are quite the skilled weapon master. If not for the few tricks I had I would’ve been a goner. I have a feeling that you and I will make a fine team together.” He said as he continued to haul his teammate to the hospital “What did you think of Kuro? I haven’t tested him against a weapon master before so I wasn’t sure how it would fair against you.” Of course, if Kisei wouldn’t accept his help he would still be around to guide Kisei towards the hospital as he needed to get his wounds looked at.

Ryo also needed to get looked over as he felt he had dislocated at least one of his shoulders and hurt himself in other ways.

“Yea yea, congratulations to you and all that.” He let his teammate pull him to his feet, though refused to do much to help him stay up. Although he was cut up, beaten, and exhausted, he had to say, Ryo had a very nice smile. Nothing in particular, just, interesting. “Yea, I wasn’t expecting you to use ninjutsu… and as for Kuro.” He paused for a moment, pondering the puppet’s performance. Kisei pouted somewhat, “You have a really mean dog you do. But really, I think you might want to do something about that tail sword. It isn’t long enough to extend past Kuro’s head so you’d have to tail swipe it. But then that leaves you without access to, what I believe were senbon launchers...” He said sadly, not looking down to his weapon. “But that’s about it. Your welcome.”
For a while he would walk silently, wherever to Ryo was leading him. “Hey, by the way, if you even think of letting anyone else see my injuries, I, am going to leave.” He growled coldly. “If you really want to help me, take me to the back of the village, the wall opposite of the entrance.” He nodded. Kisei’s injuries would be a waste of time at the hospital, Alfa could fix him up easily at their place, although when he thought of it Kisei probably shouldn’t show his new team-mate the home of one of the most dangerous weapon smiths on the planet. Nah, what harm could it do. After all, Ryo didn’t even know anything about Kisei having an older brother. It’d be fine. But knowing his brother he’d be pissed. Yea, Ryo + Alfa = Disaster. Guess there’s no other way around it.

“Actually never mind, I’ve always wanted to visit your prim- wonderful, medical facilities.”

Ryo smiled as he nodded his head listening to the critique. It was on his mind as well, but there wasn’t all that much to be done, however, he would commit these things to memories and would indeed improve upon Kuro’s design as he got more skilled at puppetry. Still, it was good to know that his surprise with the Ninjutsu worked to his advantage and that really was going to be his ace in the hole as he got to be a much better shinobi with more experience.

Hearing the growl in Ryo’s voice made a look of steely ice pass over his face. He was doing his partner a favor and this was the kind of thanks he got. Slowly however, he shook his head his injuries much more serious than he was going to admit and the idea of making it to the back of the village was just too much for him to handle. So instead, he shook his head panting slightly the look of steel passing in favor of a smile “W-Well, I would do that, but sadly I am not strong enough to get that done. The Hospital is closer and I am heading there so if you want whatever injuries you have to be treated you’ll have to deal. I know how it feels, but ninja are supposed to get injured, and the doctors for the most part keep their mouths shut.” He said this with a smile, but there was a definite edge to his voice.

With a soft shudder and they neared the hospital doors he smiled wider and looked to his partner “Besides it looks like we are holding each other up, so I look just as injured as you. Besides.” His nose suddenly started to bleed as he began to speak “The nurses are really pretty.” One such nurse came out looking the two boys over and Ryo smiled widely “Hellooo nurse!” he called happily.

Soon the hospital was in sight. ‘Well, too late to back down now.’ They walked through the doors Kisei was quite in awe of the condition of the place, he expected something much more, primitive. Though when Ryo mentioned the nurses Kisei’s foul mood returned along with a noticeable shadow on his face. Oh dear kage why did you pair him up with this fool? Already Kisei could begin to see the team dynamics.

“Hello there miss, or Mrs.(?)...” He leaned towards Ryo, “So how does this work?” Then he thought better on the person he was asking, after all his teammate seemed rather incapacitated by whoever this nurse was. Turning back to the nurse, first clearing his throat, he was rather new at this. Kisei sighed. In all of his short period of time in this world, never had he found himself caught up in any sort of situation such as this. Shifting his grip on Ryo into something less, tingly, he would ask the nurse.
“Do we need to sign in or something?” Nudging his teammate for some support.

Ryo’s smile slowly as he watched the nurse come closer to him. However, his nose started to bleed rather fiercely as he watched the nurse get closer. He heard the question that Kisei asked and he only smiled shaking his head slowly “No, there is nothing quite so hard as all of that. So, instead all you need to do is find a nurse like this one.”

The nurse approached them smiling widely as she heard Ryo’s call. Kisei asked his question and she giggled softly “Nothing quite so serious as that.” She said softly before she gestured to a wheel chair “You should sit there. I will be able to help you get to the back where I can properly treat you.” She said as she moved to help Ryo into another chair sitting him down in it. As soon as he was in the chair another nurse this time a male one came and moved him through the hospital towards a room.

As for the female nurse she moved the chair over to Kisei smiling and nodding her head “Would you please sit in the chair for me? I will be happy to take you back and treat you. You and Ryo are both Shinobi of the hidden sand so it would be best to keep you both healthy. Which of course, is our job here.” She said with a warm smile showing how caring she really was.

Not wanting to somehow offend the nurse he did as she asked. The chair itself was comfortable and Kisei found it hard not fall asleep. While on their way to his room he caught glimpses into the other rooms and the patients there. A lump of guilt formed in his throat. "I'm sorry, about my partner and I, it was irresponsible of us." He confessed. Though the nurse was kind and reassuring he couldn't shake his thoughts from the other patients, particularly the ones with more serious conditions to tend to.

His thoughts crossed to Ryo and Kisei found himself frowning at the thought of his teammate. It was humiliating. How he came in all cocky and confident and got it handed back to him. Ridiculous. It seemed that he would have to start  training more seriously. Not that he wasn't, but he was vastly inexperienced in the ways of this world. Universal techniques used by all ninja were still unknown to him. He honestly wasn't much of a ninja, at least for the moment. A smug look crossed his amethyst eyes. One day, he'd be the best there'd ever been. He just knew it. But... for the moment he had somethings that needed to be taken care of. And with that last thought the door to his room closed with a thump.
