Kui

Kui

D-rank
In this big, rocky, bone dry village were hundreds and hundreds of people, skittering all about. Some looked appetizing, some looked sweaty and dirty from the beams of the sun falling directly upon them. Sweat was composed of not only internal liquids escaping through the pours, but also toxins. An individual who worked out heavily, then showered and cleaned up was an ideal meal. One still covered in the soils of bad life decisions, they tasted terrible. So in short, most people in this place were not going to taste very nice, and it was not within Kui's mind to eat any of them, at least not in broad daylight when the sun was like this.

As droves of people skittered passed him, he seemingly danced through the crowd enthusiastically. It was just in his nature to have pep in his step. Doom and gloom wasn't within him. At the same time though, the more people that passed him and happened to nudge him in some way, glare at him somehow, or otherwise irritate him.. Those people slowly ticked him toward an enraged outburst and the thoughts that floated around in his head toward each of those people were cruel and unusual.

An old man accidentally pressed his walking stick into the top of Kui's foot and he imagined taking the cane out of the man's hand and mashing up his skull and brains with it, smearing it onto a piece of toast and eating it like jelly.

A young child grabbed his robes as he passed by, and Kui thought of how much he could break in one swift knee to the face on such a bite-sized little creature like that.

Kui shook his head rapidly to dispel his desire for violence and made his way to a poster that caught his eye. The poster illustrated a long, ferocious looking snake and held the word "Man-Eater" at the top. This made Kui smile and laugh. Kui was a man-eater also. This snake had eaten a small child. This made Kui wonder about the flavor. The poster had a reward and stated that the beast must be removed by any means necessary. Someone was going to hurt it if Kui didn't get there soon.

He did a 360 and rushed through the crowd, the poster clutched in his hand, speeding off as quickly as possible toward the coordinates on the poster. He passed the child who touched his robes earlier and slammed him face down into the dirt, in what appeared to be an accident, and immediately kicked the old mans stick, causing him to face plant before he burst through the gates of Iwagakure and maintained a fast, steady sprint toward the coordinates. A poor animal was going to be killed for doing nothing wrong at all. For being just like Kui. Such a thing was wrong in more ways than one, and Kui would not stand for it.

As he dashed rapidly across the stony ground, he arrived at a clearing. The area sang out desperado. Tumbleweed rolled across the plains and in a thick bramble patch Kui heard shouting and faint hissing. The sprung forward and before him was a man laying out, his body was partially consumed by a large snake. His arms were stuck at his side due to also being constrained within the reptile's mouth.

The man wore an Iwagakure headband and blood was leading from his mouth. His eyes were strained with blood vessels expressed and super visible. He was grasped tightly between the lines of life or death, but he was able to speak. His hair was a dark brown. His face was fat and presumably so was the rest of his body which was expanding the snakes body in order to fit within. To anyone else who had stumbled upon this, it would have been more than just a grizzly sight. It would have been horrifying.

"Oh my god, you must be an angel sent from above. It's nothing less than a miracle that you've arrived. Please. Cut his open, save me from this horrible beast!"

Kui stared in awe and wonderment at the sight before him, this beast hadn't even chewed it's meal. It was going to completely consume him and then wait while he digested. Clothing and all. How magnificent a sight this was to behold. Kui stepped forth and stroked the snake gently and looked down at the man it was consuming. With a tear streaming down his cheek he smiled brightly.

"What an honorable sacrifice you have become. What is your name, mister?"

The man seemed slightly confused as he whispered his response, through choking and coughing.

"Gato."

"Thank you for this, Mr. Gato, but I can't have you disturbing his meal any further. I need you to shut up."

Kui reached forward and violently ripped and tore at the helplessly subdued shinobi's throat, rending flesh and tendons and red gore all about until he destroyed the voice box. At that point, he sat in front of the snake as it took down more and more of its meal, and made some choice pickings from the upper half, careful not to take anything the snake deserved. After around an hour and a half, the snake had taken down the man entirely, and Kui picked up the whole thing. Like carrying a man inside a body bag, and carried it very far from this site. After finding a deep cavern within the wilderness, Kui laid down the beast and darted back off to the village, his belly now full and ready to make his wallet the same with the rewards of a job well done.

Already becoming known as a Good Samaritan in this place, having displaced a legendary beast from it's perch, the people of Iwagakure had no idea that now there was a new "man-eater" about. And they'd be singing his praises.
