Kei pulled back from the kiss with a hopeful expression on her face. She hoped that Sero reciprocated her feelings. She was confident - as confident as she could ever hope to be. However, her face soon dropped as Sero spoke. Did he... not understand? Or was he just trying to spare her feelings. Either way Kei kept her gaze fixed on the ground beneath her. She could feel her eyes tearing up, but she refused to cry in front of Sero. She crouched in the ground and picked up the pen and notepad that she had dropped before. She still looked like she was about to cry. She began to write on the piece of paper to try to explain to Sero what a kiss was. If she was lucky, he was telling the truth and genuinely didn't understand. That wasn't a message, or a jutsu. That was a kiss. It means that... that I like you. She wrote. She still kept her eyes fixed on the ground. She hugged her arms to herself. She felt vulnerable.

A sinister glare was gazing at the two; Kei and Sero, from somewhere within a withered tree, standing in the cemetery area. It was Hao, who was standing on one of the branches within it, with one of his hands placed upon the tree itself, to support him. His black eyes didn’t avert his eyes; he was in need of another pawn for his plans. He was here to observe the one that Kei was interacting with, wanting to find some qualities that could be of use to Hao, but so far, he hasn’t find any beside the fact that he gets along with Kei, which he could easily tell by the kiss. It’s critical that his team can communicate with each other without any problems to make sure no one interferes with his plans, but shouldn’t he be looking for someone a little stronger? It didn’t matter. All that mattered to him, was his goal.

Sounds of leafs cracking and falling off the tree was a signal that Hao, in one swift movement, jumped down from the tree branch and landed somewhere within the wasted lands where Kei and Sero were located, not too far away from them. Birds flew away, chirping as if they were fleeing from Hao in fear. His expression does not change. The cold eyes give off the impression that they could pierce one’s very soul to the depths. He didn’t even crack a little smile, it was complete blank. With slow steps, he made his way over to the two, looking at Kei, then back at Sero. The male probably didn’t know who he was, nor what he did to Kirigakure. Before he made sure that he qualified and willing to join his cause, he wanted to keep that a secret, so that he wouldn’t alarm the villages about his evil deeds. With an uninterested tone, he spoke. “Kei.” He began by addressing her first. He wanted the male to introduce him, but instead of asking him directly, he went for an indirect way without showing any interest in him. “Who is this. An acquaintance?”. His sword; Raijin, was still strapped around his waist, but he didn’t feel the need to use it. He patiently waited for one of them to react, completely unaware of Kei’s disability to speak.

Sero paused in his thoughts of techniques when he read her words and for a moment he drew a blank. before nodding slowly. Of course! it was something that he had been unaware of before. A way to say I like you and do not wish to kill you to some one was to press your lips to they're own. And with her inability to speak it made sense that she would act it out in an acceptable way. A brilliant deduction yet again.

With all the distraction of this he was unaware of being watched. He had no heightened senses nor did his eyes detect chakra. In a way he was a plain ninja when it came to detection. He reaches out and places his hand on top of kei's head and smiles in a way that showed he didnt practice showing emotions much before he speaks. it was only appropriate to share feelings in return.

" I like you as well Kei. I had just never witnessed such an act before."

It was then that the fleeing birds caught his attention and his face goes blank. The sun was just rising but the birds where not making morning sounds and did not move as a frenzied flock on they're own. He lets his cold grey eye's observe around them a moment before spotting an approaching figure. It disturbed him that he was not able to Analyze anything about the person simply by watching him besides the basics. The sword around the waist indicated Kenjutsu was probably something the other was capable of. The way he spoke and carried himself spoke of experience and confidence. The dark eyes however seemed to hide something. Sadness? regret ? Rage? He could not tell at a glance. Most he had come across plastered emotion on they're face but this Individual had the same blank expression as Sero. Which registered in Sero's mind to be much like himself. He would be cautious for anyone with a cold gaze like his own would kill for a simple benefit in a tactical situation. It was best to assume the other would have intel on him when he had none on the man. So playing it safe he remains silent until spoken too. Though his feet spread ever so slightly for a basic defensive stance. The stance itself would provide for an escape opportunity while in worst case scenario sacrificing his left arm.

Kei kept her eyes fixed on the ground until Sero spoke once again. As he did, she looked up and smiled. It was hard for her to grasp. He actually liked her. Sure, she wasn't quite sure that they were on the same page. He seemed to think that kissing had no romantic implications. He probably thought that it was something friends did when they were unable to speak for one reason or another. The young girl also found it strange that he had never even heard of a kiss before. She tilted her head to the side and stared at him with curiosity. She was about to write once again in order to further explain what a kiss was and what it meant. However, their conversation was cut short. Kei turned around slowly as she heard the rustling of leaves and the sound of birds fleeing the sight.

She recognized the man that had appeared. She could probably recognize him anywhere; his raven hair, his cold eyes and his emotionless expression. These were all traits of Hao Uchiha, the very person who had burnt Kirigakure to the ground. Kei's had little analytic nd deductive skills, at least when her Yang personality was in use. However, her instincts were strong and usually quite reliable. She knew what Hao was capable of, she knew she couldn't outrun him even if she wanted to. It was best to be submissive than aggressive. Kei sunk into a bow, greeting Hao as he appeared. She lifted her head only when he spoke to her. She nodded at his question. She wanted to write that they were more than acquaintances, but something told her that Hao would have little to no patience with her if he had to read everything she had to say. Kei placed her hand on Sero's shoulders, as if to tell him that it was alright, that they weren't under attack.

Sero blinks as a hand is placed on his shoulder and it was as if the man was gone. but only for a moment. He felt as if he shouldn't be there and leans down. surprisingly strong arms scoop up Kei and then powerful legs carry them over the tomb stone and then running through the grave yard. He had no reasoning for it but his mind said to retreat. his instincts told him to run and so he did. but for some reason he had not left kei behind. Was she a valuable asset? why not just a distraction? Surely with him carrying her there was no way to outrun the man? His grey eyes look down at her scooped into his arms as if studying her as they run.

Kei was taken aback by Sero. He had picked her up from the ground and decided to carry her away from their location. But hadn't she told him it was safe? Hadn't she said that the man was not going to harm her? Why was Sero so scared? She let out a small yelp when he scooped her off of the ground. Maybe he hadn't understood what she meant. Kei only wished she could speak, to tell him that there was no need to run. But she couldn't. And for some reason, she decided it was best not to struggle against his grip. She looked at his face, somewhat awestruck. There was something unusual in his normally cold and inexpressive features. As she rested against his arms, with her head against her chest, Kei looked at Sero with a quizzical expression. Was he... afraid? Confused? It was strange, really. There was a very slight change in his face that Kei couldn't quite identify. Her other side might, but the young girl wasn't about to surrender control at that moment. She was feeling selfish now. As long as she was with Sero, she wouldn't give in to her other side. No, she wanted to be with him. She would follow Sero wherever he went.
