Maikeru

Mission Details:

Maikeru sat on the side of the street, legs crossed, elbows rested on his knees. He was contemplating, his usual hobby. He looked straight forward, with his thousand yard stare, with many people giving him glances as they walk by. He simply ignored them and their whispers, them speaking of how odd he was. His stare was at nothing in particular, though his mind was seeing his ambitious future. He saw himself at a desk in a wear house, surrounded by bodyguards he didn’t need, but he was just a conspicuous consumer that way, his hands clasped as they are now. His large office filled with expensive items.

Maikeru returned to reality, still sitting in the sand on the side of a street of Sunagakure, looking like a bum. Maikeru got up off his ass and begin to look for something to do, rather than just sit on the corner of street. He looked up at the blue sky, taking a deep breath. Looked around, for something to do that can give him some commerce. He wandered around, looking for things that normal shinobi would do to help people, and maybe find some illegal work, which always pays more. He noticed it was great for him, due to the fact that Sunagakure is lacking ninja, meaning less people getting in his way of missions. He waited at the corner as he always did for Yu, his informant. He leaned up against the wall, looking casual. Maikeru was then approached by a ninja who was slightly older than Maikeru. “Right now there is a banker who needs to find his daughter. I don’t entirely know what the issue is, but you should consult him first, and you might wanna hurry, there is another ninja on her way there. Here is the address.” Yu handed Maikeru the address and waled off. He looked at the slip of the paper in his hand. It was some distance away from where he currently was, so Maikeru speed walked.

Misao

Being assigned to missions was nothing new to Misao. It happened fairly often, in fact. Albeit, these tasks could barely be considered missions. They mostly revolved around housework, bill collection, finding things or people and occasionally acting as a guard. The latter - those were rare, and for rather obvious reasons. One simple glance at Misao was all it took to know that she was no warrior. Quite the contrary, the young girl much preferred talking herself out of conflict. Not that she was much good at that either. In fact, if she were asked, she would answer that she was good at music and painting - the arts in general - neither of which were very practical skills, she knew.

In any case, this mission wasn't unusual in theory. She was only meant to retrieve a young girl who had fled the village as an act of rebellion against her family, mostly her father. Again, quite a normal task. One that she could have done on her own. For some reason, however, she was being sent with someone else. From what the young priestess understood, this girl was from one of the noble houses of Sunagakure no Sato. It must have been a very important one to send two shinobi to make sure that everything went as planned. Moreover, she was to never hurt the girl, no matter the circumstances. If there was even a broken nail on her, not only would Misao skip on a day of payment, but she would also get in trouble with the village's higher ups. She sighed at just the thought. It made her slightly nervous. Not to mention the matter of the controlling boyfriend that she was meant to keep the girl away from. She could only pray that everything would go well.

In any case, she now found herself walking towards where she was supposed to meet her partner for the occasion. She wasn't told who he or she was, only to go to a designated location and start their assigned task from there. She was surprised to see someone she recognizes waiting there. They had only met once before, but that had been enough to make an impression. A lasting impression. One that made Misao blush just at the memory. Her lips both trembled slightly and pursed together, making her look like she was trying and failing to smile. That may have just been the case. The young girl didn't quite now what to feel. At this point, it was a mixture of nervousness and intimidation with a hint of embarrassment.

"M-Maikeru-sama!" she stammered. She bowed as a greeting, letting her head sink down momentarily. "I-I wasn't expecting to meet you here!" she said. "N-not that seeing you is a bad thing! I'm just... Surprised, is all!" she added hastily, trying to make sure not to offend him. "We'll be on this mission together, right? I hope I won't be a burden to you." She bowed once again. Her nature was to be overly polite, especially towards people that she barely knew. Grandmother Hana had always taught her to be humble and treat others with the utmost respect. It was the only proper way to behave for a lady in the making like herself. Misao didn't quite consider herself that - she was more interested in being a priestess and caring for the Uzumaki Shrine that she had just reopened a few months ago. Even so, the principle still held true in both roles. "Shall we get going?" She asked, motioning towards the road that led to the inner parts of Sunagakure.
