D-rank
Crazy Money [C - Rank, Repeatable]:

Petty thievery can only be committed by those who have nothing constructive to do with their lives.

Once again Mari had somehow found herself taking a mission while in Kumo. This time she was searching for the their who had stolen a man's wallet while the patron was walking out o the casino. Mari had never been a fan of gambling in the first place, seeing that the risks were pointless and the odds were always rigged against those playing. But even if the victim wasn't exactly Mari's ideal of favorable, he still was the victim to a crime. And Mari still needed to find the criminal.

She decided to start in the are around the casino the man had his wallet stolen. If the thief was about as intelligent as Mari thought, he would likely stick around to go gamble away the money, which was a sum of about 5000, if Mari could remember correctly. She kept her eyes searching as she walked around the area. Bright lights lit up the strip flashily, suavely dressed gamblers and women waled around with little second glances at the girl, who dressed rather conservatively in comparison, with her black and white dress and boots. She realized that she had little no idea of who to start looking for since she hadn't even been given a description of the thief's appearance or anything helpful of the sort. Who wouldn't at least give that when reporting a crime? She couldn't very well complain about it too much, she just had to make do with what little she information she had received.

By pure coincidence, she actually didn't have to search that far.

"... Sucker was just asking for it when I snagged his cash straight from his pocket!"

Mari at first couldn't believe it would be that easy when she heard the words. Surely the criminal wouldn't be that dumb to just brag about his crime for all to hear. But... Perhaps she was overestimating her target. She turned around to see a man with greasy hair and weasel like eyes speaking to a pretty blonde. At once she knew she had found her criminal, yet it also seemed the man had seen her too. He suddenly stopped speaking to the women, catching sight of the forehead protector Mari wore on her arm, at once knowing that he found been found. He face grew panic stricken and he took off running through the street.

Mari was surprised at his sudden burst of speed, but she too quickly followed him through the crowd. The man had a hard time avoiding the people the crowd, tripping up and bumping into the various on goers, while Mari did her best to avoid them all. Eventually he would run up to a side of a building, jumping up the roofs to try and make his escape. Mari kept right on his trail, running up the same building and kept in hot pursuit. As she reached the roof top, he was already jumping to the next, proving he was fast, yet Mari knew she was faster. She already at the edge of the building he was on within a few moments.

Seeing that she was catching, the man made a hand sign and in a large poof of smoke two more of him suddenly appeared. A... Clone Technique? So, he was a ninja, yet he did not send these clones after her. At once the three of him separated, on to a higher building on the right and another to a lower building to the left. It wasn't a clone Technique, but a doppelganger Technique meant to confuse her into chasing one of him that could very well be the fake. The girl didn't have time to decipher about which could be fake or real, she simply took our her three shuriken and three each one at each of the running targets.

The man in center disappeared in a puff of smoke, while the man on the left also  dissipated. That left the one to right, who yelled out in surprise as the shuriken hit him in the back. The real thief tripped up as he ran across a rooftop, landing on his face hard. Mari reached his rooftop and walked up to the heap of the man, but then had to quickly dodge out of the way when a kunai came flying toward her. The man stood up with a yell, battle ready with two more kunai in his hand.

"Look, I gotta pay off some debt 'Kay kid?! I need this money!"

The man's insubstantial reasons for theivery were of little concern for Mari, who didn't say a word to him as she readied herself for another attack. He charged toward her, kunai swinging ahead wildly. Mari dodged as he swung towards her and then ducked down as he followed his left fist. She stepped up behind him as his momentum pulled him forward, and then kicked him hard in the back, causing him to almost fall over the edge of the rooftop, dropping both his kunai. He balanced precariously, almost about to fall over. He tried turning around to punch at the girl,  but Mari was faster. She struck her palm out to his chest, pushing him off the edge. He yelled out as he fell, but Mari heard a crashing noise. The man had fallen on top of a awning, which had broken his fall slightly, before further crashing into a dumpster below. Mari jumped down to him, and began searching his body. She easily found the wallet in his pocket.

The girl opened the wallet to inspect it and make sure all the money was still there. Sure enough it was. Fortunately the criminal hadn't gambled it away or perhaps paid off whatever debt he had been talking about. Below her she heard the man groan aloud, he was still alive. She had no reason to kill him, she had completed her task. And despite theivery being a crime, something as petty as his should not be punishable by death. She walked out to the street, where a small crowd had gathered, likely from the large noises. Her shinobi forehead protector was visible, so many of the crowd had to assume that she was conducting some official business of some type.

She waved her had toward the dumpster. "Please, call the man a doctor and then turn him to the regular authorities." She began walking back to the casino and opened her mouth to let out a small yawn. After she returned the wallet, she would likely head to bed for a good night's rest.
