Stage 1- Event: A
Description: Participants wander the island until stumbling upon a thicket of extremely tall trees which all seem to have been slashed up on their bark. The participants will soon discover that those slashes are territorial markings for the leader of Genbu’s giant Koalas. Participants must both survive & escape the onslaught of Don Koala while also attempting to acquire the opposite scroll needed to advance to the next round.

Name: Don Koala
Age: ???
General Appearance: A giant koala that stands roughly thrice the height of a human male. Grey fur with white markings. Wears a bowler hat with a red scarf draped over his shoulders. Smokes cigars.
Personality: Extremely territorial and foolhardy. Will never back down from a challenge.
Motivations: Become alpha of the entire island.
Fears: Kong
Abilities: Monstrous strength appropriate for size, excellent climber. The most clever of the giant animals.
Other: The most intelligent and devious of the island’s giant animals. Unlike Kong, Don Koala is not solely concerned with territory and is not as aggressive. Constantly seeking the manpower to overtake Kong’s dominance on the island, Don Koala may be able to be convinced to take participants in as subordinates if they demonstrate value to him for his clashes with Kong. Also very proud. An insult or perceived disrespect will not be forgiven.

The air was dry and the heat from the sun was killing him as he walked cautiously down the small dirt path, stopping and sliding his pack off his back and taking his jacket off, for one it was too hot to wear it right now for two he didn't want to damage the present from his uncle in the first round of the exams. Ruvaak folded his jacket up putting it into his pack covering his scroll with it, as he sat there for a second Ruvaak thought back to what all had happened that brought him to this point.

Even though he didn't personally know any of the individuals in the Chuunin Exams he had seen them back at the ready area before they were all dropped off at different locations all over the island. He had been the first one to arrive at the signup and was able to sit back in the corner and watch as the other participants arrived and signed themselves in.The Proctor was very detailed about the rules and what it would take to move on to the next stage, they were all shown the images of the two different scrolls however they would not be given the scrolls until they were dropped off on the island, but they would be able to identify which one they had and which one they needed. The entire time that the Proctor was speaking Ruvaak watched the crowd of other participants, some around his age others older and few younger, there were only going to be eight moving on to the next round and as he looked around the room at all of them he wasn't sure which one he would pick if he got to choose one as an opponent. Not that it matter anyways he would fight each and every one of them if he had to, Ruvaak decided he would try to see where the others would get dropped off at and then try to track it back from where he got dropped off at, unfortunately they were blindfolded and then suddenly the blindfold was off and he was standing here and he had no idea where on this island he was or where anyone else would be.

He had a Heaven Scroll but he didn't know who would have the Earth Scroll he needed to get to the next stage of the competition, he would have to be on his toes to ensure that he didn't lose his scroll because then his short time in the Chuunin Exams would be over before it started. Pulling his pack back up onto his back Ruvaak set off again in his search from other competitors that he may take them out and get on with what he needed to get to the next stage. Ruvaak knew he needed to be on his guard because he doubted he would meet anyone nice in here, of course that was why he secluded himself in training in the days before the Chuunin Exams and why he did not go out and talk to anyone that was visiting from one of the other villages, Ruvaak did not want to meet anyone that he might have to compete against. He wasn't in this to make friends he believed friendship would be a weakness in a situation like this it might cause him to hesitate if he had to fight a friend in order to move on and that was not part of his plan, he was here from one reason and one reason only to win and become a Chuunin and that was exactly what he aimed to do.

He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even notice when he started walking into a thicket soon he was walking in the shade of unnaturally tall trees, when Ruvaak finally noticed the change in scenery he thought back to what the proctor had said about the unusual things they would see and he didn't think that the tall trees would be the only thing strange on this island that he would run into while he was here. Knowing he needed to get a good vantage point of the island Ruvaak headed up one of the nearby trees and started to ascend towards the top to try to see over this thicket of trees, he got about a quarter of the way up when he noticed something strange on one of the other trees. He had a very curious nature to him so of course he went to check it out and see what it was, when he reached it he realized what it was, Claw marks and not just any claws something huge but he couldn't tell what it was. Ruvaak looked around trying his best to see through the thicket of trees when he noticed the problem, all of them every single tree had these claw marks on them and that meant only one thing, he must of stumbled into the territory of one of the creatures the proctor was talking about that inhabits the island. Ruvaak moved up high on the tree wanting to stay as high above the creatures line of sight as possible and hopefully maneuver out of here before the creature finds him, as soon as he was up to where he hoped he would be out of sight of whatever this creature was he paused for a second listening to make sure he couldn't hear it anywhere nearby. Ruvaak hugged his body to the tree trying his best to hide himself in the shadow of the tree when he heard it, at twig snapped was it another competitor or was it the creature, Ruvaak thought to himself as he slowly reached down to his kunai pouch around his leg grabbing one before straightening back up keeping his body as close to the tree as he possibly could. Whatever it was that he heard it was close but he couldn't tell how close, whether it was the creature or another competitor Ruvaak knew that he would soon be in a fight and so he readied himself for whatever might come at him, standing as still and as silent as he could as he looked down from his vantage point in the tree to see what was coming.

Okay Tsu! You can do this… You can totally do this!!
The green haired Senju wandered around a bit in a huge thicket of trees. Since the beginning of her time on the giant turtle, she had been alone and hadn’t spotted any signs of any other shinobi. She looked at the scroll her had on hand, the Scroll of Earth. So, that meant that she needed to find someone with the scroll of Heaven so she could get to could put them together and get to the second round! It was a simple enough sounding task, though… it would be hard if she couldn’t find another person on this giant turtle period.

Three days huh? Tsuru looked around, the green haired girl had seemed to find herself in a very thick patch of the forest. It still amazed her that all of this wasn’t actually land, but instead a giant turtle. The trees around her appeared so healthy and big, her mind wondered if the trees roots ever dug so deep that it hurt the turtle. She surely hoped it didn’t. "I’m sorry Mr. Giant Turtle. If it hurts..." The girl said  as she continued walking around.

She wondered how her teammates were doing and if she would be able to see them at all during the exams. It was a pretty big turtle by the way the proctor had explained, she hoped that both Itazura and Kaitu would be able to handle themselves okay. Maybe if she did run into the Sarutobi or the Raven Haired boy, she could help them! She would of course help them regardless of what scroll either of them had. But if it came down to it that they had opposite scrolls… No! She didn’t want to think about something like that. They were her friends, and she surely didn’t want to fight either of them.

As she was walking, she noticed the trees becoming thicker and thicker, and the canopy above nearly blocked out all the sun. As she looked around at the trees, she noticed that many of the trees had huge scratch marks on the trunks. M-Monster?! Tsu’s eyes widened in terror, she panicked silently as she remembered what the proctor had said about giant animals on this giant turtle.  Maybe it’s a nice animal… Like a koala or a deer. Or another giant turtle. Koala, deer, and turtles had nice temperaments, or at least the girl thought so. She wasn’t an expert on animals like she was plants.

What if it’s a giant spider?! Tsu panicked again. There was no way she was going to fight against a giant spider. Spiders were scary, very scary. She shook her head furiously, convincing herself there weren’t going to be any giant spiders. There really shouldn’t be any giant spiders. There aren’t any giant spiders on this giant turtle.

She tried thinking of something else. She started examining the claw marks on the trees. They were rather large, maybe it was a bear. Tsuru knew that many animals likes to scratch on tree bark to mark their territory, had she wandered into a place she shouldn’t have? She didn’t notice anyone else around.

Suddenly she heard the cracking of a twig, her head turned to the direction of the sound but she couldn’t see anyone, or anything for that matter. She sniffed around a bit, and smelled a rather unpleasant scent of smoke in the air.

Smoke..! F-fire?! The girl froze in an instant, at once wishing for giant spiders rather than flames. As a Senju she already was weak against any Katon jutsu, but even more so was that traumatizing incident that had left its scar on her skin and taken away her mother.

No! I’m different than before! Tsu steeled herself knelt down to the ground, she punched down create a small hole and from there a small plant of thorns and vines came to surface. Underneath in the ground, or in this case, the shell of the turtle, a root network spread out beneath her, allowing the girl to sense the positions of all the plants, her terrain. On the side note, she noticed that the soil on the turtles back was very healthy, a little waterlogged, but  it indeed support a very healthy environment. Suddenly she detected movement from just the edge of her range…

~804~

A… Giant something… The girl wasn’t sure what to make of the large footstep she felt make her way towards her, and close, only 20 meters away and closing in. Suddenly the footsteps disappeared, as if they were never there at all. Did it… climb a tree? Tsuru wondered, unsure of what she had just sensed.

Looking down from his hiding spot up in the tree, Ruvaak saw what he believed was a girl with green hair in long braids, standing on the ground, about 5 meters away from the base of the tree he was in. He had seen the girl before back at the starting room, she was one of the nin from the leaf village, what a great way to start the competition, he thought to himself as he readied himself for an assault, she was not directly below him like he would of hoped, but if he moved silently enough he might still be able to take her off guard. His plan was simple, he would swing down using the wire from his pack, if he was quite enough he will be able to knock her off her feet and have the advantage, it was the perfect plan and it caused a smile to cross his face. As he readied himself and was about to launch his attack when something catch his attention out of the corner of his eye, what was that? Ruvaak thought to himself as he looked in the direction of whatever it was that caught his attention in the first place. That's when he saw the most impossible thing he had ever seen in his life, it was a gigantic koala looking beast, but more off than the size of the creature was the fact that it was wearing a equally large bowler hat and a red scarf.

It did not appear as if the creature had noticed him yet, to which Ruvaak was grateful, however it did notice the girl, she was exposed in the open and the creature was on the move slowly stalking the girl waiting for a time to pounce. The girl did not appear to have noticed the creature yet and Ruvaak was not sure if she was even aware that she had stumbled into this beast territory. That was when the thought came across his mind if he could remain undetected from the creature then he could just let it take down the girl and then when its gone he could go down and get the girl's scroll of her corpse, and he just had to hope that she had the scroll that he needed and that he would not cross the path of that beast again and was able to make it to the next part of the exams.

As he stood watching the giant creature slowly stalk through the trees towards the girl he couldn't help but get a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach could he really just stand here a watch this girl be slaughter by this monster? If the situation was reversed he would hope that the girl would do something to warn or help him and yet here he stood waiting for something to happen to this girl. He could no longer take it he had to do something to get the girls attention and get her away from the beast if they worked together they might be able to take the gigantic beast down and then they could turn their attention to each other and fight it out for their scroll or something like that. Thinking as quickly as he could he developed the best plan he could considering the fact that there wasn't much time, using the kunai which he still had in his hand and threw it towards the girl after which he quickly grabbed his talisman and began focusing his chakra to form his bow. The kunai that he threw towards the girl was of no danger to her, it was merely the best way he could think of to alert the girl of the situation without giving away his position to her or the creature, the kunai was actually aimed for a tree branch that was just above her head, Ruvaak hoped that the kunai striking the wood would alert the girl and cause her to look up hopefully seeing the creature in the process. But Ruvaak did not have time to wait for the kunai to hit the creature was almost upon her and he had to act fast if he was going to help her, as he drew the bow creating his first arrow he cursed himself under his breath for waiting so long to warn the girl, for all he knew it could already be too late. He fired off his first shot at the creature hoping there was still time to catch it off guard before it got to the girl, quickly pulling back the bow string and loosing another arrow before darting around on the tree branches for a new vantage point. When he got to a spot he believe he would be safe for a little while he could not see the young girl, he only hoped she had gotten away, but he could still see the creature, his arrows would have dissipated by now so he had no way of telling if his first two hit their mark but that didn't bother him he still had three more shots before he would have to charge up some more chakra into his bow. Quickly looking to make sure the creature couldn't see him he pulled the string of his bow loosing his last three arrows in rapid succession before darting off along the tree branches again for a new vantage point, one where hopefully he will be able to get eyes on the girl, despite this monster they were still in a competition against each other and he needed to be on his guard for when she turned her attention to him.

Shhhhkk!

”Ah?!” Tsu gasped in surprised. Out of nowhere a kunai had been thrown in her direction, she saw the blade stick into a tree branch above her head. The sign of an enemy?! She got frustrated with herself for being so careless, at any other angle that kunai would’ve got her, probably straight in the head!

By her roots in the ground, she knew that there was no one on the forest floor with her. That meant they had to be above. The girl looked up, prepared to see another shinobi. Were they after her? Didn’t that mean they had to have opposite scrolls? So… they would have to fight it out?! She knew that this would happen, yet now that is was she felt so very nervous. She hoped that whoever it was wouldn’t be one to use Katon jutsu, maybe they specialized in long range attacks? She’d have to save thinking for later, for what she saw in the trees definitely was something she was not expecting.

”K-Koala!”  Indeed it was a koala, a giant koala, donning a red scarf and bowler hat. The fact that it thankfully wasn’t a giant spider only grazed her train of thought as the giant marsupial readied for an attack, it was going to pounce on her from the trees. But it never got a chance as suddenly an arrow hit it in the chest, and then another shot at his direction. Tsu took this as her chance to escape. It was no longer safe on the ground, where she was vulnerable as a target. She climbed up the nearest tree, jumping from branch to branch, keeping the giant koala in sight, but hiding herself within the branches of the trees. Her naturally green hair proved some nice camouflage in the forest canopy.

She saw that koala was attacked with a barrage of three more arrows. What was strange was that the arrows from earlier had seemingly disappeared, but… she was sure that one of them had hit the giant thing. Had is dissipated into thin air? It could possibly have been a jutsu, which meant other shinobi. Whoever it was probably had been the one to throw the kunai from earlier. That kunai hadn’t been an attack, but instead a warning. Whoever it was had decided to warn her of the giant beast, helping her escape an attack. Oh… How nice of him.  She thought about the other shinobi, the one still attack the bear. She noticed movement in the tree branches, it had to have been him. She made a mental note to thank him for helping her when they had a chance to talk. Though if they did end up having different scrolls, they would have to fight each other. But one problem needed to be faced at a time, and this time the problem was the giant koala.

She couldn’t let her fellow shinobi fight the thing all by himself. But what could she do? She decided she need to help in any way she could! She was in the forest, wood was her element, she was a Senju after all. Tsu looked around the canopy of tree, searching for something she could use. Then she saw it, one of the trees in the forest was tilted, at its base the trunk already half broken. The tree itself only being held upright by a group of branches by the surrounding foliage.  Yet she needed to get the koala at the right position for her plan to work. She made a handsign summoning a doppelganger. It was risky to come out of hiding, but it was necessary for her plan to work. The koala only seemed to be angered by the previous barrage of arrows, furiously searching for their owner. Though he was a giant creature, his movements were nimble as he made his way through the trees.

She sent her doppelganger out into the open, while she headed straight for the tilted tree. The fake herself easily caught the attention of the giant marsupial. Tsu reached the tree, but soon was encountered with another problem. How was she supposed to make it fall? Her doppelganger was easily chased by the giant koala, leading him directly in line with the tree trunk. But within a few moments he caught it to only have the fake disappear in a puff of smoke. Angered further, the beast searched around for the real Leaf Shinobi, now frantically trying to push the tilted tree and get it to finally fall. She had set herself against another stable tree trunk, she heard branches breaking from the pressure, but the tree wasn’t moving an inch.

What was wrong? It had looked unstable enough earlier!  She was starting to panic now, once again vulnerable to attack, and the koala was headed straight for her.  She just needed the darn thing to fall, and fall on top of the koala. She looked around desperately, what about that other shinobi? Would he help her? Would she have to depend on others so save her every time she was in trouble? Was this the end already? If only she was a little stronger, then she could break through those branches and make it fall. The koala was charging at her now, she only had a few moments left…

Ruvaak made it to his next vantage point unnoticed, judging by the fact that the beast was swinging its arm's around in a frantic rage. This wasn't a good sign, the fact that his arrow did little more than anger the monster didn't sit to well with him, it must have a thick hide which means he will need to locate its weak spot for him to manage any real damage with his arrows. Ruvaak's thoughts were cut short when he saw the green hair of the girl again, what is she doing? Ruvaak thought to himself as he saw her dart out and catch the attention of the beast, the girl was fast but she wasn't fast enough as the koala soon caught up to her Ruvaak held his breath as he watched the huge claw of the creature come down on the girl. When suddenly the creature's claw hit nothing but air and a cloud of smoke, "a clone jutsu, cleaver girl now where are you really" Ruvaak said aloud though he was talking to himself that's when he saw her, not far from where the beast caught up to her clone but what was she doing? Ruvaak wondered to himself, and then he realized what was going on. The girl was pushing against a partially fallen tree, from the look of the situation Ruvaak guessed she must of been trying to use her clone to lure the creature under it and the push it on top of it to crush it, but by the looks of it she was having trouble getting it to move.

Ruvaak was right the girl was clever she had a good idea, it just seems as though she was as strong as she thought she was when it came to moving the tree. Now the creature had spotted her and was headed straight at her, "move" Ruvaak said aloud though due to the distance between them he doubted she could actually hear him. He decided he needed to help her instead of sitting there trying to will her to move away from the beast, but the question was how? He figured the easiest way would be to draw the attention of the creature away from the girl but that would put him in a very vulnerable position, exposing himself to both the creature and the girl. Ruvaak swallowed hard pushing his doubts out of his mind, he was just going to have to hope that the girl would not take advantage of the situation and attack him right after they dealt with the creature and if she did he would just have to move fast and get away from her or counter her if he could.

Ruvaak thought as fast as he could trying to figure out another way to handle the situation, but nothing came to him and soon the girl would be out of time he had to act fast and get down there to help her. As he raced down the trees jumping down from branch to branch moving as fast as he could to try and help, he began channeling his chakra trying to find the perfect place to use, when he saw a fallen tree branch the size of a small stump not far from where he would be, "perfect"Ruvaak thought aloud as he channeled his chakra towards the branch. The tree branch was the perfect back up plan if his original plan backfired or fell to pieces, at least this way he would have a way out, which was always a good thing to have. Once he reached the ground level of the forest he pulled back the string of his bow and let loose the arrow, which flew straight to its mark hitting the beast in the lower leg and causing it to roar again, whether the roar was from pain or from anger Ruvaak couldn't tell but it had done its job and got the creature's attention drawn from the girl and onto him. Ruvaak pulled back the string of his bow again loosing the arrow just as the creature turned towards him, but it missed soaring past the creatures head and striking a nearby tree. Hearing the cracking of branches Ruvaak hoped that the girl would be able to make the tree fall on the creature before it reached him as she was the only thing between him and it.

As the creature started towards him it was moving slowly, almost as if it was judging the situation or the threat of this puny thing attacking it with needles, it stalked up towards him and the pressure got to him, the creature was directly below the partially fallen tree if the girl was going to come to his rescue it would need to be soon. As the creature continued to stalk towards him Ruvaak turned his bow towards the fallen tree pulling back the string and loosing an arrow, before turning back towards the creature and doing the same. He heard the cracking of branches again and prayed the girl would be able to get it moved soon, as the creature dodged his arrow letting out another roar as it lifted up on its hind legs and continued at him. Ruvaak did the only thing he knew to do drawing the string back on his bow once more and loosed it at the creature praying for it to find its mark.

"Move."

What?  From where she was, she barely hear the warning. Tsu looked up from her pushing, the giant koala had spotted her! Ah.. Ah!!! Still bracing herself against another tree, she tried pushing harder. She heard more rustling in the trees, her eyes caught sight of another figure, grounded on the forest floor. Dark skin and dark hair, his outfit mainly of black and dark grey. With his bow in hand, he loosed another arrow at the koala, hitting it on the lower leg.

The creature roared with pain, perhaps anger, even more agitated with such sticks beings shot at him. What was he doing...? Tsu wondered why the boy was putting himself through the trouble of helping her. He was another competitor wasn't he? Wouldn't helping her only defeat the purpose of competing? But... She couldn't think about why or who the boy was, he was trying to get the koala to get his attention away from her and that was all that mattered at the moment. He shot another arrow, though this time missing and hitting a nearby tree.

The distraction proved more than enough. The koala now moving to directly of the path of the fallen tree, stalking the lone shinobi readying an attack. The boy shot another arrow, this time in her direction. She heard the loud snapping of branches, his arrow the most likely culprit. But it was exactly what she needed for an extra boost! The trunk moved inch by inch, until it caught on with its own momentum. The boy had shot a few more arrows at the beast which still made its way toward him. The other Genin was counting on her, there was no way she was going to let him down! She gave one last big push, and with a cacophony of branches snapping and the tree trunk breaking. And much to her surprise it began to fall!

"Uh.. Oaah!" as the tree fall, the green haired girl was suddenly caught without a brace, causing herself to hold onto the tree as it crashed to the ground. The giant koala looked up to the noise, but it was too late as the trunk already was falling into it. Tsu of course, now hugging to the tree for dear life with her eyes closed shut.

The tree crashed to the ground, after a stillness was reached in the forest the girl opened her sealed shut, terrified eyes. She blinked several times, letting go of the tree and looking at the destruction around her. She caught sight of the shinobi she had encounter, bow still in hand. "Ah... Hello..." She only could force a quick, awkward greeting out. She appeared very confused at the outcome, for underneath the fallen trunk there was no body of a giant creature. There was rustling in the trees, her green eyes darted through the canopy. The beast was still out there... A simple tree falling would not hinder it so much. A menacing aura overtook the forest, the growling of an angered, injured beast overtook all other sound. The faint smell of cigar smoke took to the air once again as the two Genin stood on the ground.

"Do... You think he's coming back...?" Her question trailed off as she searched around the forest, unsure of what to do next. Would this mean thay they have to fight each other now? But... The creature was still lurking out there, and the green haired girl surely didn't want to go through making another tree fall down in this forest.

The tree the girl had been pushing on finally gave in crashing to the ground with a great force, dust cover the area causing Ruvaak to quickly cover his eyes to protect them from the debris. When the dust finally cleared he was surprised to see the girl lying on top of it holding on to it for dear life, but then a site more unsettling caught his attention, the wasn't anything under the tree it appeared as if the beast was able to avoid the crushing tree which was a very bad sign, nothing they did to it seemed to have much effect on it and it was even able to avoid the tree despite it falling so fast. Scanning the tree line for any sign of the creature however with the trees casting such large shadows it was almost impossible to see anything, as he stood there trying to think of a way to deal with the beast his thoughts were cut short by the sound of the girls voice.

This was the first time since entering the forest that he had gotten a good look at the girl that stumbled in here just as he did, of course if it wasn't for her he would probably be beast food right now wearing a violet robe and black slacks, she had eyes as green as her long braided hair. "Hello" Ruvaak replied however he quickly returned his attention back to the forest surrounding them, it could be anywhere preparing for an attack. Quickly forming the dragon seal silently activating his Onikeigan causing his eyes to turn from their normal grey to a glowing emerald, the darkness of the shadows disappeared and he soon had a clear range of sight. Scanning all around he saw nothing, no sign of the beast within the twenty five meters of his vision, "damn" he says under his breath he was hoping to see the beast so he could come up with a plan or something but ended up with nothing. The girl stuttered out a question about if it would come back, the truth of the matter was that he had no idea if the beast would return or if they managed to scare it off.

"I honestly do not know" Ruvaak said with a heavy sigh, relaxing slightly however still ready to act if the girl decided to use this opportunity to attack him and take his scroll, or if the beast did happen to return. "I do know this if that thing does come back we should have a plan" as the words came out of his mouth he realized how retarded it sounded, they were competitors in this competition and it was ever man or woman in the girls case for themselves, "I mean I know we are opponents and everything but I am not sure that thing is done with us yet". Ruvaak locked eyes with the girl staring intensely at her before adding "I am not saying to trust each other, I honestly don't trust you and for your own safety I wouldn't suggest you trusting me either, because I will take your scroll from you the first chance I can whether you have the one I need or not it would be one less opponent in the later rounds of the tournament " Ruvaak paused for a brief moment to let his words sink in with the girl before continuing "this beast is strong, smart, not to mention fast if we want to beat it and make it out of here alive then we need to work together to take it down." There was a massive roar coming from the south of where they pair currently stood, drawing his attention to the direction zooming in but  still he couldn't see the beast still beyond his sight. "Not trying to rush you but you should make up your mind pretty fast, because by the sound of it the thing will be back soon" not turning his eyes away from the south hoping to catch sight of the creature before it got too close to them.

There was another roar this time from the east, the creature must be circling them from a distance and that was making him very nervous, even with the extended vision of his Onikeigan his still couldn't see the beast or where it was at. "We are sitting ducks here we have to be ready to move..." His words were cut off by another roar this time much closer and from the west, "shit, it's fast" Ruvaak stated aloud as he saw a blur of grey and red right at the boarder or his eye sight. "It's not just circling us its closing in on us" Ruvaak said looking to the girl,"I don't know where it will come from but when it does it will be fast and if we try to escape I'm pretty sure it will catch us we need a plan." Looking to the girl to see if maybe she had a plan for the situation, doing his best to try to hide his fear of the beast not a good idea to let an opponent see him in such a weaken state, he needed to maintain the calm and cool persona that he had when the beast came at him before the tree fell.

The blurred movement of the beast was getting closer and closed and it would be on top of them in any second, he still had his substitution ready if he needed to use it but it couldn't use it on the girl, if she didn't have her own ready and he used his he would be leaving her to the mercy of the beast, could he live with himself if he did that? Answering his own question in his mind the answer was simply yes he could, if it came down to his life or the girls he would leave her to the beast, as he was sure she would do the same. Still unable to come up with a plan, he turned to the girl, "well I'm fresh out of ideas, what about you?"  The roar of the monstrous beast echoed through the forest reverberating through the trees, causing the leaves to shake just from the force of it, sending a shiver down his spin.

At her question the dark haired boy only shook his head with a sigh, saying that he didn't know. She shouldn't have expected him to know, but it was a spur of the moment thing to ask. She sat up on the tree, dusting herself off as the boy suggested and explained a lot of things.

He suggested a plan if the giant koala did come back. She nodded her head intently, knowing that was a good idea. She wasn't much of a planner herself but since the boy was taking the initiative she decided to let him keep talking. It was rude to interrupt people anyway. He seemed nice enough, after all he did see through her plan of distracting the beast and had warned her of it when it first appeared. And he was also kind enough to say hello when she had said her first greeting. In conclusion, whether he be an opponent or not, he wasn't a bad guy.

Then he had to lock his dark eyes directly into her green ones. Saying that the two couldn't trust each other and adding that he would definitely take her scroll when he had the chance, whether or not it was the right scroll or not. She blinked a few times, a puzzled but at the same time understanding expression on her face. He was very direct, but he did have a point. This was a competition, an examination and neither he or she should have been so easily trusting of people, no competitors, they had just met. It did slightly dishearten her though, under different circumstances she would have liked to get to know this boy better. He appeared the same age as her, though she didn't see a forehead protector on him so she couldn't tell what village he was from.

He had paused to let his words sink in, then quickly continued, of course enforcing the fact that at the moment they needed to work together to take down this giant koala. Tsu blinked again... She had never thought that giant koalas would be so angry at anyone. She always thought that koalas were kind of lazy and just climbed trees and ate eucalyptus all day. This koala definitely wasn't like every other average koala. And he was being kind of mean to be honest.

The girl's thoughts were interuppted by a giant roar that made even the trees shake. And it made Tsu nearly  jump out of her skin.

"Not trying to rush you but you should make up your mind pretty fast, because by the sound of it the thing will be back soon." The boy was looking around frantically trying to catch sight of the giant creature. Tsu nodded furiously with a "Y-yeah!" She wasn't exactly sure what to say, but she believed she had just confirmed that she wanted to work together with him. He had said a lot of things and he was talking again which made it hard for her to follow everything being said, but overall he did seem concerned for both of their safety at the moment.

Another roar, and for the first time Tsu noticed something odd about the boy's eyes. They were emerald green with slit like pupils, special eyes? A... Doujutsu? Yes, that was what special eye jutsus were called. The boy before her had some kind of doujutsu, she wondered what he could see. And by that... It probably meant that he could see the giant koala that was after them. They were vulnerable out here, both he and Tsu realized it. It was coming in fast, and by then Tsu didn't need him to tell her. There was rustling in the trees around them, the beast seemed everywhere at once! Are koalas really that good climbers? It was a thought the girl would have to save for another time.

Plan.. Plan! They needed a plan. Plans were always good in a time of crisis. Plans were something that Tsu wasn't particularly good at, she hoped the boy was. But unfortunately despite saying quite a few things, he didn't have one. "Well I'm fresh out of ideas, what about you?"

Before she could say anything more, another leaf shaking roar ripped through the air. Leaf shaking both in a literal sense and cause the Shinobi of the leaf to get a little shaky herself. Why was he asking her?! Did she look like the type to come up with plans? Well... She wasn't! "Uh... I, uh..." She stuttered some more, still very much terrified about the whole situation. The boy didn't seem to be in any better condition. This wasn't good. Two kids about to killed by a giant koala bear? That definitely would be less than an expected outcome of the chunin exams. Well, maybe that was the point, to kill off the weak and have the strong ones fight it out.

But.. Tsu wasn't weak. She had changed from when she was a helpless little girl, that much she was sure of. Her stance grew a little more steady, she was finally getting herself ready.

"I'm a Senju. I-I can use Mokuton." She said it with shaky pride, both trying to calm herself down and trying to talk seriously to the boy besides her. "If we can get him down to the ground, I can trap him in a wooden cell. He's gotta be injured from the tree already, so... H-He shouldn't be able to break free too easily..." In all honesty the girl wasn't entirely sure, but it was all she could think of at the moment. Surely the koala wouldn't fall for the same distractions twice, so it would be harder to get him back down to the ground. And if he did break free, they would just have to cross that bridge when they got to it.

"He has to be in my range though and on the ground. You should uh... Go back up in the trees, and lead him down to me. I'll support you part of the way." The greened hair Senju knelt down to the ground, digging her fingers into the dirt (technically turtle shell) beneath them both. Directly beside her two large vines sprouted from the ground, the two green stalks stretched out far moving with an animated aura. The girl's braid appeared to float around her, like snakes mirroring the movements of the vines. "My reach is only 25 meters but I think that's all we need since he's... So close. And since I've activated the vines, I can't move very far from the spot, so he needs to come to me."

Her eyes were racked with concern over her makeshift idea of a plan. Was it any good? Would the boy agree to it? And what of afterwards? "If you get hurt, I know some medical ninjutsu so I can heal you a little!" She blurted out the statement without thinking. What was she to be concerned over someone who had already stated he didn't trust her? Trust was not the issue at the moment, they did need to work together, differences or goals put aside.

"M-My name is Tsuru Shokubutsusou." She blurted out an introduction. "I know it's not a very good plan, I'm open to suggestions if you have any!" She was only able to get a few more words out before the growling ceased as an odd silence filled the forest air. Was the beast gone? No... Only worse, it turned to watching and waiting, keeping just out of sight, for the two to make their move.

Ruvaak realize he might of been to forward with his talk of a plan and working together, but the girl had a plan which was good for Ruvaak considering he didn't have any idea's that might actually keep it down, once she explained what she could do he knew exactly what to do for it to work. The fact that she can't move while it's active was a downside, but if she was confident enough in her jutsu to capture the beast then it wasn't his place to worry about her safety. Ruvaak wasn't sure if her offer of healing was genuine or a way to try to get him to lower his guard still if she was acting she was really good at it, she seemed really nice but still he couldn't let himself get caught up in it. The girl bent down and vine sprung fourth from the ground, interesting Ruvaak thought to himself as he watched the vines, "My name is Ruvaak Unmei, and if we met under different circumstances I would say it's a pleasure to meet you but we'll save that for later. As far as the plan it's perfect and I know exactly what to do I'll draw it's attention down and straight into your vines just be sure your ready cuz I'm not sure how fast this thing is but I am having trouble keeping it in view."

With that Ruvaak took off into the trees bow at the ready once he was at a decent height he stopped and looked around for any sign of the beast. It wasn't that far away now and it seemed to slow down maybe it was coming up with it's own plan or something the good news was that it didn't seem to have noticed him up in the trees yet, maybe it was distracted by the girls vines. Ruvaak had to drive it towards the girl drawing his bow, from this distance it wouldn't be a problem for him to easily hit his mark considering he also had his Onikeigan. He let the arrow loose heading directly for the beast's head, it was flying perfectly when suddenly it was struck down by a quick claw swipe from the beast locked eyes with Ruvaak, "Shit!" was all he could say, so much for the element of surprise. The beast came straight at him swinging and jumping through the branches with ease and speed Ruvaak knew he couldn't out run the beast but he had to try.

He took off as fast as he could in the opposite direction of the beast, it didn't take long for it to catch up to him but just before the claw of the beast came down he managed to slip down to a lower set of branches, looking up to see the beast continue to charge for a few seconds before it came to a stop looking around for where he went. Ruvaak didn't stick around to wait for it to see him, taking off in another direction listening for the beast because now he had a new plan. It wasn't long before he heard the beast coming up behind him and it was getting closer and closer until he was almost within its grasp before he slipped down to another branch, this time he didn't watch the beast though, as soon as his foot hit the lower branch he sprung off it and headed down another direction through the trees. It was miraculous how large this forest was he just hoped that he would be able to find the girl again, he didn't dare chance looking all around for her he had to concentrate on staying ahead of the beast or else he would be dead meat. The beast let out a powerful roar, it seemed that it wasn't too happy about being tricked the same way twice.

He could hear the sound of branches being torn through from behind him, the beast was gaining faster than before and Ruvaak knew he needed to pull out all the stops to stay ahead of the beast. Before it was able to get to close Ruvaak dropped down to the next layer of branches but it didn't work on the beast this time managing to stay right on top of him, Ruvaak quickly adjusted his direction barely dropping below the claw coming across his face making it to the next branch before the creature caught him and taking off again putting as much distance between him and the creature and himself before briefly turning around and firing off two of his arrows at the beast before turning back around and running as fast as he could. He had no idea if the beast swatted the arrows away like it did the last one or if they hit, either way it didn't matter because he heard the beast getting closer quickly dropping to the next branch ready to try to draw the creature to the girl hit was met by the power claw of the beast.

As Ruvaak began falling he looked to see the beast smile as it lit a cigar, it managed to out smart him and now he was paying the price for it. Lucky for him was that it was a far fall and he only hit two branches before hitting the ground. The force of the impact with the ground forced the wind from him, and his grip on his talisman slipped "No!" Ruvaak cries out as his bow slowly fades away, now he was in trouble, he was sure the fall probably injured him in someway he didn't care at this moment, it wasn't like he felt pain anyways, what concerned him was the fact that he lost his bow before his fight with the girl and he wouldn't have enough time to recharge to use it again. The snapping of a nearby twig broke Ruvaak's train of thoughts, oh yeah almost forgot about you he thought to himself as he stood up slowly, it didn't appear anything major was broken considering that he didn't have any trouble standing as he scanned the forest floor he saw the girl barely as she was right on the edge of his vision. He continued looking until he spotted the beast closer than the girl was but on the opposite side of him which was perfect.

"catch me if you can" he called out to the beast letting a smile form on his face before taking off at full speed towards the girl. The beast wasn't far behind and was gaining on him faster than he was getting to the girl he knew he had no choice, once he had gotten the creature as close as he could he called out to the girl, "Now!" before activating his substitution just as the claw came down on where he use to be.

The boy watched with interest as she made the vines grow around her. Perhaps he had never seen a Senju before, that was a possibility considering there were many other shinobi from all over the world here on this giant turtle.

"My name is Ruvaak Unmei..." He gave his name as well, and confirmed the plan with her, adding under different circumstances they probably would have gotten a chance to know each other better. So, he had a similar line of thinking to her. Tsu was grateful to have run into someone who was nice enough to think that way. And he was thoughtful enough to give his name and agree with hers. She would've like just a little criticism since she wasn't sure about the quality of it, but he seemed to trust it all the same.  Just as he jumped away to go about distracting the koala, she blurted out another set of words.

"G-Good luck, Ruvaak-san!" By that time, he was already in the trees. Uh... Did I do the plan thing right? She thought as she stood there, now alone on the ground. She hoped her plan was a good one. She never really was the one people turned to for plans. It worried her to think that it would not turn out so well. And what about this Ruvaak? What if he got hurt... Or worse. It would be practically all her fault if something like that happened. This was why she didn't like to be the one people turned to for plans in the first place! What if she couldn't trap the koala in a wooden cell? The four pillars prison Technique was made so it could keep prisoners in... Not giant koalas.

There was cracking in the tree canopy and the sound of roars echoed through the forest. Was he going to be okay? In her muddling thoughts Tsu couldn't keep track of where he was. She looked around frantically, trying to see him or sign of the beast. "Ah... Uh... Ruvakk-san?! G-Giant Koala?!" She tried calling either of their names. Well, the boy's name she did know, she just had to refer to the Giant Koala as to what it was, a giant Koala. There was more sounds of  roaring and thundering of trees branches, until she finally caught sight of them both!

He was jumped through a lower layer of branches, wood being thrown at him from a very angry marsupial. He shot a few arrows at it as he tried to run away. "R-Ravaak-san!"  Tsu could only yell out his name as the koala beast closed the gap between them and slammed his claw against the boy.

His fall was dampened by two branches as he hurdled toward the ground, not far from the girl at all. The koala lit a cigarette, believing history was in his reach. The boy hit the ground hard, Tsuru noticed his bow and arrow suddenly disappeared. He was slow to get up, the girl frantically was trying to yell at him to move.

"Catch me if you can." He yelled out to the to koala as be ran toward her. Quickly, the beast got down on top of him as he ran straight to Tsu. He got to her quick, and the beast just as fast. Once he was within her range, he yelled out. "Now!"

The boy disappeared just as the Koala's claw came down to smash at the empty ground.

"H-Huh?!" She gasped in surprise as the boy suddenly vanished and then she was left to face the koala alone. The koala stood tall in front of her, roughly three times the size of a fully grown male and had the strength to prove it. The cigar in his mouth filled the air with a small cloud of smoke. For a moment Tsu just stared at the bear, wondering what she was supposed to do. Her vines simply hanging about in the air. The stand off remained for a few seconds, before the girl suddenly remembered what she was supposed to do. The two green stalks shot toward the koala, Striking him at both sides. He dodged one by stepping back, but as his weight shifted to his back leg he winced and lost his balance. His right leg... Was injured! Remembering back to the falling tree, Tsu came to the quick conclusion. In the trees, he was able to make up for such an injury but on the ground, he now was vulnerable!  She used her right vine to hit up on the side, making him fall to the ground.

"Hah!" She knelt down to the ground once more. Placing her fingers on the ground she began the chakra conversion of Suiton and Doton. Around the ground surrounding the koala, pillars of wood shot out from the dirt, encasing the giant in a wooden cell. I... I did it! The girl was surprised at her ability. So, it was successful after all! After such a tense situation, she fell backwards to sit on the ground. But... Suddenly the wooden cell began to shake. The koala was going to break out?!  The girl surrounded her vines around the wooden cell, ready to attack the creature if it did. Yet, the escape never happened, instead, much to the girl's puzzlement she heard a raspy voice come from the cell.

"Eheh? So... You kids are pretty crafty him?"

It.. It can talk? She stood up carefully, glancing around for the boy. Hoping that he had escaped, she didn't see him anywhere. But what was this koala saying again? She looked carefully to the slots in-between the wood, a smoke trail exited crack.

"You know I've been lookin' for strong opponents like you. Maybe, we could strike a deal? I need a few crafty kids like you to go up against Kong."

"W-Well I, uh... " Was he really trying to recruit her... And Ruvaak? Was that even allowed? She stuttered with her words, what could she even say? She stopped before she said anything else. The koala went silent as well, waiting for an answer.

"I... I guess so...? Um, yes I-I will! I mean, I think we can be friends!"

The silence was unnerving, and the Tsu hadn't really known what to say, but she figured that being on the koala's good side would be better than being on its bad. So she ended up stuttering a response of agreement to whatever the koala was offering. It was a giant koala that nearly killed her (and she nearly killed it), but perhaps they really could form some kind of friendship.

With the green haired girl still trembling, the giant marsupial smiled with his cigarret still puffing out smoke between the slots of the wooden cage. "Alright, it's a deal!" With a ground trembling shake, the wooden cell around him broke into pieces. He stool tall, nearly four times her size, offering his hand, well paw, to the girl. "Don Koala is the name."

Eh.. So my idea wasn't that good. The thought crossed her mind as she shook the beast's paw with her hand. "Tsuru  Shokubutsusou is my name!" She gave her name with a smile. Though her gaze held a distant look as she smiled up at the beast. She wondered about the other boy, Ruvaak, it was. She didn't see him around the in the trees. She needed his scroll, she was sure they had opposite scrolls anyway and well... It was the only way to get past this round! Now that the koala threat was taken care of, she needed to focus back on her real goal, the exams.

Don Koala immediately noticed the girl's distant gaze. "Lookin' for that boy eh? He's up in the trees." His claw pointed upwards, a little to the left. Tsu's eyes followed to see a figure in the green canopy. He was open, and unmoving, so this was her perfect chance to take the scroll. She had the earth scroll... So he had to have the heaven scroll. She nodded back to the koala and then summoned her vines to go up into the trees. Winding their way through the branches, she got the vines to the boy and then quickly grabbed his scroll as he wasn't looking. Tsu breathed a huge sigh of relief as the vines came back to her, the scroll was hers!

"Thank y-you, Mr. Don Koala! I promise I-I will help you whenever you need me!" Tsu bowed in appreciation to the koala, who puffed a cloud of smoke with a grunt and a nod back. The girl still wasn't sure what kind of help the Koala had in mind, but since he had helped her out it was only nice of her to do so in return.

She took the scroll from her vine and already had the other scroll in her other hand, she looked at the two cylinders in her hands, slightly unable to comprehend that she actually had done it. "I did it, I got both scrolls!" She jumped up in the air, just then realizing the Koala had left and she was alone. Um... Do these fit together or something...? Her vines fell wilted to the ground beside her.

She looked from her left to her right hand, now absentmindedly walking around, hopefully finding an exit to the forest and trying to figure out how the two scroll fit together.
