The rain was beating down hard on the leaves of the trees that seemed to tower into the sky, only letting some bit of rain in here and there as they were pushed and pulled by the winds rampant howls. Thunder was heard in the far off distance as Kenta trudged through the wet mud, his feet becoming stained in it. Why had he even bothered to be honest? He was in desperate need of new jutsu's for the up coming Chuunin Exams and with his currant ones, he stood no chance. Thankfully, his clan being somewhat advanced in the learning department, he could learn a B-Ranked jutsu while others of the same rank could only learn C-Ranked. He was bound to have an edge at least!
The wind seemed to intensify, slapping the high tops of the trees waving around up there, dropping miniature scaled waterfalls from what the leaves up top had collected. Branches began to snap and fly to the ground below, some just missing Kenta as he flinched from side to side. What made him want to come out here to the Dense Forrest where he could be attacked at any moment? Was it to challenge himself? No. He had weakened lately, letting himself go and become softer than usual. This wasn't like him and he was becoming angry at himself.
Water rolled down his cheeks and fell from the tips of his hair as he stood there, concentrating his chakra into making a clone. He had learned how to make a clone in the academy but it really wasn't worth much since it could easily be told out; with no shadow and all. Everyone else in his class all had one thing special about them while he only had the basics. With this new technique, he was going to surpass them all! or so he thought.
He closed his eyes and the world seemed to slow down around him, the rain drops almost coming to a halt and the flash of lightning lasted a bit longer than a second. Breathing in deeply, he cracked his neck and knuckles. Readying himself. Exhaling, he opened his eyes and began inputting the right hand seal for the jutsu he had been reading up on. As soon as the last hand-seal had been inputted he opened his mouth and shouted the following words;
"Lightning Release: Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
With those words spoken, a puff of smoke surrounded him. As the smoke set, in it, stood a silhouette figure of about the same height as Kenta. He had done it! He had made a perfect copy of himself! Well...so and so.
Walking over to the clone, Kenta pressed the clone on the chest, the flesh sinking in slightly. The clone began to convulse and distort in different ways before exploding, shooting out bolts of lightning in different directions, some aimed at Kenta. Before he could react he took a bolt to the shoulder and one to his waist before he somehow managed to wriggle his way free. The burns fro where the bolts had hit released a small sizzling sound. He should go and see a doctor soon before it becomes infected or inflamed.
Gripping his side and shoulder a small tear rolled down both of his cheeks as his waved gently in the wind. A moment passed before he climbed up, getting on his left knee he looked up into the sky, well, what could be seen through the treetops. The sky was grey and dull. It felt as if death itself had shadowed the skies. It was time to make some progress.
After a while of gritting his teeth to the pain from the bolts that the failed clone had cause, he staggered up to his feet, wincing as he bent over, stretching the burn mark. They were sure to leave a scar. He looked around. All he could see was about 10 feet infront of him before it faded off into the dark. It seemed as if something was watching him, staring at him intently but maybe he was just being paranoid.
Remembering his training he used to do with Aoi he let out a sigh of relief. His rainbow colored feather slowly hung from his hair as he placed both of his hands together and slowly started inputting the hand-seals. He felt a strange tingling feeling within him while he concentrated his chakra into this jutsu. It had to work! after about 5 minutes of putting the hand-seals in, Kenta summoned a clone. Unfortunately this one was also a failed attempt as it released bolts of lightning at Kenta, on guard this time, he managed to dodge them by hiding behind a tree.
Hours passed and yet all his tries were failed. He was becoming weak from pushing himself over the limit. He had used up all his chakra and was slowly killing himself as he continued to use up whatever strength he had left. It was time to head home and try again tomorrow. He somehow managed to stagger his way home before collapsing two steps into his front door. Thunder roared in the background while lightning cracked across the sky. This storm was far from over.
Waking up on the cold hard stone of his front door stairwell, Kenta rubbed his jaw. Having forgetting the pain he put himself through the day before, his body tensed as he moved. He really did over do it yesterday and the pain was just as bad aswell. The burns didn't help at all, if anything they were the worst since they were in the middle of the healing process and he went and moved his hips, tearing the thin layer of skin apart.
After about half an hour of laying on the ground, Kenta slowly pushed himself up from the floor, concentrating his chakra to his hands to help ease the pressure. He looked around, still in a daze he sluggishly walked out into the open. It seemed as if the storm hadn't eased up and was still continuing to go on. Strange. Never had weather like this before, something bizarre was happening but Kenta couldn't really care much; he had to prepare for the Chuunin Exams and he was going to do this and get a grip of it before it was too late!
Entering the Dense Forrest once again, determination burned fiercely in Kenta's eyes. He was going to do this and he was going to win this! Chuunin Exams will be his next step.
The rain seemed to be more lenient today than it was yesterday but the wind and lightning was just as worse! The wind seemed to feel like punches on Kenta and the lightning was striking not too far away from him. He was going to have to do this fast and without fail, otherwise it wont be a burn that he'll get. It'll be next stop morgue!
Shifting his legs apart and slapping his hands together, he rubbed them hard and fast, keeping them warm with the friction he swung his left hand into the air and the other to his side.
"I will win this today and I will not fail you Aoi!" He shouted,, looking up into the skies. The wind seemed to die down slightly.
Looking back ahead of him, he could look further now since the night had gone and it was now morning. There was nothing there but more wildlife like squirrels and owls but it still seemed slightly off. Shaking his head at the thought of it being something else he narrowed his eyes and grinned. Just as Kenta was to begin inputting his hand-seals for the jutsu, a kunai knife came flying out from the bushes. Just before it hit him, Kenta quickly moved out of the way, the blade of the knife cutting him slightly on the stomach as it rushed by. as he twirled around after dodging the knife, Kenta pulled out two of his knives and held them in reverse, ready for combat with whatever had thrown it at him. A foot emerged from one of the bushes infront of him. Stepping out from the bush, the leaves and branches rustling as the woman pushed herself out from the bush, she flicked her pink fringe. The woman was about 5 foot 9inc. Smaller than Kenta which ment she was bound to be more nimble than him, her golden eyes pierced his like an arrow to the head. She looked somewhat familiar to him but he had no idea who she was. He hair was a nice cherry blossom pink which was tied up into a bunch at the back of her head with just her small fringe. She looked around 19. Older. Typical.
"You there! Young genin! Hand over all of your money and weapons you have on you right now and maybe I'll make your death painless. Well. It'll still be painful but slightly quicker." The woman chuckled, her husky voice echoing throughout the forest.
Kenta glared at her. he wasn't about to let this woman go or hand over his weapons and money. He gripped his kunai knives tightly, readying them for combat before he let a slightly evil-ish smile creep across his face.
"You think I'm going to go out without a fight? Hand over my money and weapons? You're one deluded cow aren't you?" He grinned, his eyes examining her every motion. The woman didn't seem to take kindly to his words, her brow arched down and her eyes seemed to burn brightly with an undying rage.
"Who do you think you're talking to you little shit!" She howled as he ran towards him at full speed. She was fast but Kenta had a plan in mind.
Lifting his kunai knives, Kenta threw one at full speed just at her feet and almost instantly, he threw his second one in an diagonal line in the air. The first one made her smirk as she jumped over it but just as she jumped she noticed the kunai knife and deflected it with her arm-guards, little did she know that Kenta was directly beneath her, waiting to grab her feet and flail her about. The woman kicked her feet up, smacking Kenta right in the face as she did. Bingo! Right in his trap! Just as she had kicked him in the face, he had activated one of his ninjutsu; Kanashibari no Jutsu. Since she was close to him his chances were good at catching her if she was around Genin level. As she landed she stood there still, unable to move. It worked!
"What did you do you little idiot! let me go!" She growled, her body shaking slightly. The jutsu wasn't going to hold on for much longer so Kenta decided to try out his new Jutsu. Though he had not mastered it just yet it was better than nothing!
Slapping his hands together her began making handseals as fast as he could, short bursts of lightning began to crackle from his hands.
"Lightning Release: Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
A puff of white smoke appeared next to Kenta, as it cleared, another Kenta appeared. It seemed perfect but only one way to find out. Grabbing the clone's arm, Kenta swung him around and threw the clone at the girl. Don't fail me now! he thought to himself. The clone latched onto her just before Kenta's jutsu wore off. In a panic, she pulled out one of her knives and slashed at the clone.
"The end." Kenta smirked, jumping behind a tree.
The clone discharged a large burst of lightning bolts, piercing the woman as she howled in pain. When it was over she crumpled to the ground and lay there still. Thankfully she was still alive and breathing. Kenta stared at her before deciding to take back his two knives and make his way to the village. He had done it! He learned a B-Ranked jutsu on his own!
