Uchiha Oshiki

Uchiha Oshiki

D-rank
It was a sad fact of the world that Oshi and his kind lived in: There were many natural enemies of the ninja. It was a job that required that as kind of an obvious result of the actions that they needed to do, they were fighting people and making sure things went all according to plan, even assassination was technically legal simply because it was sanctioned by the governing bodies of entire villages. However, there is something that's very important to remember. Those enemies came in many forms; the form of a ninja from a different village (whilst Oshi might not like that little fact, as it was the villages still had pent up aggression against one another that they hadn't dealt with yet) or perhaps a stray summoned beast that had lost it's master and thus was attacking anyone in sight indiscriminately without orders, and many more. The one that Oshi did not expect to have to fight within the next year was the one that he was being forced to deal with today. He was being forced to attack a group of moles that had annoyed a group of old people. Now, he didn't particularly like moles either, they tended to get in the way a lot more than they should be and they clearly had no concern for other people, but that didn't mean that he agreed that they should be attacked like this simply for being put in someone's yard. Well, that would have been the way he'd think if this was a normal home, but as he turned up outside the place that he was being hired to deal with, he was actually finding himself standing outside a farm, one that he hadn't seen before. This place was beautiful! Much more beautiful than anywhere else that he'd seen in a long time, even that time in the forest... he shuddered as he thought about that, he still hated that girl with all of his heart, there was nothing worse than a radical ecologist who lost her mind because of what she was doing. She might have once  had a point but now... now she was just a lunatic.

But, ignoring that little fact, he walked into the farm and smiled at the old lady who was already working on the farm. It was a little bit out of the village limits, just outside the forest. Honestly, he was impressed by this place, it was a mixture of nature and domestication that most people in the village didn't manage. She smiled at him as he walked forwards, before beginning to talk. If someone was to ask Oshi to describe a stereotypical old woman, he would have honestly had to say that this was his exact mental image. She was old, but she definitely was not decrepit, probably from working the fields all day every day. Other than that, she was wearing rather old and worn clothes, she clearly didn't care for the fashion. Good on her, he thought.

"Oh, you're the boy that they sent to help, right?" He was about to answer but she didn't give him the chance, interrupting before he could actually say anything. Why she bothered to ask, in that case, he wasn't sure. "Oh, I already know you are, I can feel it! Now, those pesky moles are currently infecting the field over there, and remember not to damage the crops. If you do that, there's no point in getting rid of the moles now is there?" He had to admit she had a point, but little known to her he didn't have any techniques where he could have destroyed the fields. His techniques were more akin to that of an assassin, it was perhaps something that he should have noticed by now but whatever the case might be he was just going to have to deal with this his own way. The first thing he needed to do was find a way to broadcast a sound without the people who lived here being able to hear it. Looking around, he noticed that nobody was nearby, and that was going to work to his gain. Now, he just needed a way to... oh, he had a great idea. it was rustic, but so was this entire area.

Walking over to the field with the supposed problem, he leaned down to one of the holes that the mole had come through and.. whistled. The way that sound worked was that it could travel miles through the ground, it was why old trackers were able to put their ears to the ground and hear the coming hoofbeats of horses miles away. As such, when he whistled, the genjutsu traveled through the ground. It wasn't loud enough for the people who lived here to be able to hear it and thus get affected, but moles had a naturally better sense of hearing to make up for their terrible vision. It was how they navigated through the ground. What was even better was that his technique worked off of increasing sound to the victim and thus their sensitive hearing would be their undoing, they would end up panicking and most likely collapsing their own tunnels or breaking for the surface where they would be able to be caught by the farmers. Once that was done, he stood up and began to walk away. The lady seemed shocked.

"Wait... come back! You haven't done anything yet." She complained, and he could understand why, but it was most unnecessary.
"Oh don't worry, I did just do something. Complain to the village if your problem isn't solved within the next 24 hours, and I will do it again sans gratis." She nodded, a little surprised and very perplexed, but either way she watched him walk away without any more complaints. It was the problem, Oshi thought, of being a ninja. If you were to truly do your job properly, people wouldn't know you'd done anything at all.
