History:
The legend begins: Legends say the founder first started with a gifted young boy named Naruku, from Kumogakure. He was very skilled in the art of using Raiton based Ninjutsu and was praised for it since he seemed to have mastered it at a young age. Naruku went as far in his quest of Riaton mastery that he could extract the electricity from the lightning to leave behind nothing but light particles, or Koton charka. Koton wasn’t an advance element rather it was a sub element of Riaton, meaning anyone who could use Riaton could use Koton the only thing was, Naruku kept the secret too himself, calling it a secret technique which would someday become a clan secret technique. There were many attempts to try and steal the secret of the Koton, which was mainly genjutsu based, from Naruku but all attempts were stopped by Kumogakure forces, it wasn’t until the boy was fourteen and traveled to far into the mountain ranges that this changed.
One faithful day, Naruku was venturing in the mountains outside of the village while there he ran into a group of shinobi from Konoha who were on a covert mission. Not wanting to have their cover comprised they went to kill Naruku, who reacted with the Koton jutsu he had created. The Konoha shinobi quickly realized just who he was, and thought it would be best to capture him. Despite his skill of the shinobi art, he was out numbered and out matched. The Konoha shinobi who captured him took him to a secret prison tossing him into a cell that was void of all light. At first the boy tried to use what jutsu he knew to break down the door, but because a seal that was place upon it, they were not effective. The boy had a will of fire with in him that would not extinguish, he never gave up hope, every day, for weeks and months he tried to break down the door but each time failing.
Over time Naruku started to take on mediation to help restore his charka and calm him down when he failed at the attempts to break free. Through mediation and practice, Naruku started to learn how to harness Koton on a higher level. At first he was able to focus the charka into a more solid orb form which gave off intense light and moderate heat, but this would change. This new light symbolized hope for the boy, although it had no explosive power as his Raiton did, he felt that it could so he continued to train with it.
Days passed without food and water, something that never happened, although small portions, he got food and water at least once a day his captors were kind enough to do so. Naruku pressed his ear to the door, trying to hear outside but nothing. He waited another twenty four hours, realizing, he had been left to rot in the cell by those who captured him. Naruku could wait no longer; he needed to escape before he starved to death. He stood up from his position and stood before the door, he hoped that the seals on the door were Raiton based, no one knew of Koton outside of the Genujutsu so there should have been no need to try and protect a door from it. Naruku formed the white orb into his left hand and slammed it against the door. At first nothing happened, but as he pressed harder the door started to warp, buckle and then melt slightly. Naruku increase the charka in hopes of speeding up the process, what happened next was more than he had expected. A large explosion was released powerful enough to break down the door as if it was a sheet of paper, at the cost of the left arm. Naruku staggered from the darkness of the cave, shielding his eyes from the light, he scanned the camp and saw no one, no trace that anyone was ever here.
A new home: Although free the Naruku felt lost, at first he thought going home to his village, but it occurred to him, he was most likely figured to be dead by now, he had been missing for several months, Naruku could use this to his advantage. Naruku was always chased, always attacked, pressured for the Koton Genjutsu techniques, if he were to go back and word got out that it was now a Ninjutsu, those who sought the power before would increase. Rather than returning home he traveled deep into the mountains of the Kaminari no kunai. He knew there were small villages scattered with in the large ranges of the mountains, ones that didn't have Ninjutsu, or Genjutsu, or any shinobi arts, ones that would not use him for his discovery, he would find one of these villages, that was his new goal, his new hope.
Naruku soon found himself at the entrance of a temple of ran completely by monks. The monks greeted him at the gates with open arms, welcoming him into their home. Naruku, already practicing in the art of mediation he felt as if he belonged here among the monks, and believed it would be the safest place for him to be. The monks gave him a new purpose, one besides the one of battle; they gave him hope for a new beginning. Naruku stayed with the monks, both partaking in the art of mediation and striving for the quest of inner peace.
Naruku often had nightmares about his the day he was kept locked up, the monks expressed deep concern for Naruku fearing that the nightmares would turn into enmity toward those who wronged him and taint his soul. The monks tried to help them the best they could but in the end told him that it would lie with him to put the end to the nightmares, explain that until he forgave them they would not stop. Naruku took the monks words to heart and fell into mediation for two days straight, while in this state he realized that, those you captured him were not wrong, nor evil, but doing their job and in his days as a shinobi would have done the same. When Naruku woke from the state of mediation he had felt as if a great weight was lifted, he had forgave those who wronged him and the nightmares stopped.
A dark twist; The Birth of a Doutsu: Although he wished not to be involved in battle, Naruku could not forget the very thing that saved him, and he wished to continue his study and master of Koton. Months passed until Naruku made his next break through with Koton. While sitting in his room meditating he formed a small sphere with in his hand, he quickly closed his hands with the sphere around it and the room become void of all light despite the candles burning around him, after a few seconds the light returned flooding the room once more, Naruku had created a second Ninjutsu of Koton. Naruku was in awe of this newest discovery, and with it came even more fuel and passion to discover more secrets of it all.
Naruku’s next discovery wouldn’t come until a day surrounded in darkness and bloodshed. One night on a chilly fall night, a group of rouge nin stumbled upon the temple as they were trying to escape from local officials. At first like all visitors the monks welcomed them with open arms, telling them they need not to run nor fear on their ground, unfortunately the monks warm welcome was only met with the rouge nin killing them. Naruku, who was asleep was woken one he heard the nose of blades and the yelling of both the monks and the rouge nin, he rushed out to only be hit with a fireball jutsu sending him back into a building that soon collapsed on top of him. Naruku was pinned, flames and smoked surrounding him with no chance to escape, he closed his eyes, and waited for his death.
As he laid there images started to flood his mind, his friends from before he was captured, the monks who treated him like one of their own. He opened his eyes, no longer considered normal the white of his eyes were now a blood red, the outside of his iris were a bright yellow jagged ring with his iris themselves being a less intense shade of yellow. He started to build charka with in him, this time he did not focus it to his hand, but throughout his entire body, after a few seconds the wood that pinned him down started to be eaten away by the small amount of charka leaking from his body. Once free he limped out of the burning building just before it fully collapsed, what he saw was worst then death. The monks were all dead, their bodies sliced open, some torn apart as if some beast had gone on a rampage, Naruku fell to his knees in shock.
Naruku’s body started to shake with anger, with fear, he could not forgive the bastards that did this, and he wouldn’t. Naruku looked around. Now just realizing nothing looked as if it was night, everything had a slightly hue of purple but he could see the details of the area, as well as what looked like glowing smoke that lead into the woods that surrounded the temple grounds. Naruku walked closer to this trail and waved his hand through it, as he did he saw a flicker of an image, it was in first person view of two men ahead of ‘him’ running through the woods. Naruku wasn’t sure how, but this vision was of the rouge nin who had attacked the village, and the smoke trail, he assumed, was the charka trail left behind. Naruku took off into the forest after the three men not sure how, but he would make them pay for what they did.
Naruku caught up not an hour later, the rouge nin taking cover in a dark cave as it started to storm out, as well as hoping no one would find the, Naruku stood outside of the cave looking in at the three men who have yet to see him in the darkness, but because of his eyes he saw everything, the men having a slight shine to them. The rouge nin weren’t very good at sensing things making Naruku’s job easier. He slowly walked in, all his years of training coming back to him, he slowly crouched taking a kunai from the ground and went behind one of the nin that was taking a piss. Without a second thought, he slid the cold, hard metal across his throat. The blood leaked from the man throat like a hose with a rip in it, Naruku brought his hands back dropping him to the ground. The nose of the body hitting the cold hard ground alerted the other two who stood up seeing a dark figure standing over what seemed to be a body. They called out but Naruku did not answer, but they got an answer as a flash of lightning lite up the inside of the cave. One of the remaining two men recognized him from the temple grounds, his identity was known the remaining and the other two men will enraged at the death of their friend.
Naruku put his head to the side as one of the men summoned a jutsu to encircle a flame around him, hoping to keep Naruku still. Naruku put out his hand, palm up and then quickly closing it, sucking in the light of the flames causing darkness to consume the cave once more. Confused one of the men ran forward thinking Naruku left the cave, but he was careless and stepped into the circle of flames, and then met with a kunai to the gut by the hands of Naruku, he pulled the blade from the body, dropping it onto the circle of flames to burn. Naruku stepped over the body using it as a bridge to get over the flames; he opened his hand once more this time letting out a flash which blinded the last nin. Once the nin was blinded Naruku lunged forward grabbing his face. Naruku Spoke a single word, ‘burn’ when he said this he summoned the Koton into his palm while still gripping the man’s flash, burning away a third of his body in an instant. Naruku left the cave without a second glance or thought of what he had done. Naruku made his way down the mountain, back toward the temple, his home. Once he reached the village he propped himself up against the main gate sliding down it, he had little charka left, his bones were fractured from when he had a beam trapping him in the burning building, he had burns all over his body, he closed his eyes and passed out.
Chaotic Order: When Naruku woke he found that his body had been bandaged and he was laying in a bed of a house he did not know. He slowly sat up and just as he did a women named Takahiro, walked in whom quickly explained what had happened. It seems that her father had been chasing a group of missing nin when he found Naruku passed out at the temple, not wanting to leave him behind her father had brought him back to their village to be treated. Takahiro also explained to him that they searched the temple but they could find no other survivors but him. Naruku thanked Takahiro for taking care of him, but his eyes were void of emotion, of hope, he had lost everything he knew once again. Takahiro sat next to him trying to lift his spirits, she told him that bad things do happen for a reason, even if the reason might not come for years, Naruku responded with saying the world knows only chaos, and things are done without meaning. She merely smiled reassuring him that you cannot know order without chaos, and vice versa that without one, the other cannot exists.
Naruku, no longer having a place to call his home, remained in the village staying with Takahiro and her family. The village that was just outside of Kumogakure and about four miles from the temple her once called home. Naruku didn’t want to be dead weight so he helped as much as he could mostly with small task. After a few weeks Naruku was offered the role of being the village priest since he was living with the monks, Naruku politely accepted the offer and became the head priest for the small village. Naruku, not a priest of religion but of peace and sound mind, helped people deal with problems, feeling his passed was darker than most he could help guide others to the light because he has seen the dark. The people of the village continued to go to Naruku for help and guidance and went as far as giving him power to marry people, believing since he lived with the monks he was the best suited for it.
After sometime in the village he had realized the words Takahiro first spoke to him, perhaps his life needed to know chaos as to allow him to bring peace in order to others. Since waking in the village he felt a connection to Takahiro, over the following months the two spent increasing amount of time together. Takahiro told Naruku about her family, the Sasanoi clan, and how although they weren’t a true shinobi family most of the family members had contacts with the Tengu able to summon different birds of prey to help them. Naruku had been in the village for almost a year, he was now twenty five and had become very close with Takahiro. One day in the middle of spring Naruku decided to ask Takahiro to marry him, Takahiro gladly said yes and by years end they were married, bond to one another till death. He had found order what was birthed by chaos and he found hope with Takahiro.
Kekkei Genkai: When Naruku’s two sons, Saitou and Lenn, were seven they showed signs of having the ability to use Koton just as he did, he quickly realized that when he was trapped he didn’t just harness a new charka nature but he had created new path of Raiton. When Naruku told Takahiro she was filled with mixed feelings, on one hand they boys had a gift that no one else had, on the other the gift could be used for negative things. She told Naruku that he must guide them on the right path, the same path he choice one that will use the Koton for good and not to harm others. Over the next few years Nakuku trained the boys the best he could, but the boys soon showed they had mastered it far beyond what their father could have creating several new abilities using hand signs. Over the years Nakuku learned that it wasn’t just the skill with the use of Koton they shared but the Dojutsu as well, they both obtained the power. Lenn when he was sixteen was struck by lightning, nearly dying the Dojutsu activated when chemicals with in his brain were released, and Saitou activated his when he fell into a raging river, the Dojutsu allowed him to see the natural flow of the river and was able to swim to safety.
A clan is born: Naruku passed at the age of eighty even his wife a few years later leaving his two sons as the oldest with the Dojutsu Kekkei Genkai, they both fathered four children. Saitou had three girls, and one male while Lenn has two boys and two girls. Just as Lenn and Saitou, all eight shared the same ability to use the Dojutsu. Lenn and Saitou decided that since their Dojutsu was a confirmed Kekkei Genkai they should officially form a clan. The two decided to name the clan after their father, Naruku and in honor of their mother they would create the clans main summoning contract with crows, ravens or owls. Happy with their ideas, they went to the village’s leader to ask permission to officially form the clan, but they were told since they were leaning toward a shinobi clan they must seek permission from the Kage of the land, the Raikage.
The two went seek a meeting with the Raikage in Kumogakure, once there they were denied a meeting, annoyed by this they knew they had to get the Raikage’s attention, so they decided to put on a show. Just outside the Kage’s building they started to display the Ninjutsu they created, it wasn’t long until a crowd formed, and drew the attention of the second Raikage. The Raikage was impressed indeed, and allowed the two to speak to him about the clan, after a few hours the Raikage allowed them to form their clan under the condition that they clan will send their one gennin aged and level to be trained as one of their shinobi every five years. At first the two were hesitant about this offer, mainly because it would link the clan to the village and create a possibility to use the clan as tools in war. After some time to think about this offer, two agreed to the terms as long as their clan would be protected, as well as their bloodline.
Present day: It has been almost two hundred years since Naruku first activated the Dojutsu, the clan is still intact and still honors its agreement to the Kumogakure to send a member to be trained with in the village. Not all Naruku clans retain the Dojutsu Kekkei Genkai of their founder, because of this the clan decided to have two leaders, who with the Dojutsu, and one without. This is to ensure that both halves of the clan are thought of when major decision, in most cases the one who retain the Dojutsu handles the military and policing while the other handles economics and politics. Some members of the clan still tries to keep its Dojutsu off the radar, while others believe they should fully merge with the Kumogakure and become a true Shinobi clan.
