Doji

Doji

Dead

'I shall make you proud...'

Doji blinked once, then one more: he had just woken up from the fearsome nightmare he had just experienced the other night whilst in his sleep. Within Doji's dream, he had just lost the first battle of the chunin exams and had already been disqualified by the judges who judged the match. Out of every single genin that had attended the exams, Doji had been the only one there to fail the exams just after losing his first battle, to a Sand shinobi. Doji had no idea what the meaning behind the dream was, but one thing was for sure: he was going to attend the exams and he was going to pass with flying colours. Now that he thought about it, Doji had never thought about what his favourite colour was, though due to his strong liking for anything and everything to do with shadows, he'd have to make the colour black his favourite, though most people didn't view it as a colour at all. After waking up from his vague dream state, Doji made it his first task of the day to get himself cleaned up for the trip he had to make to Sunagakure, where the Chunin exams were said to be held. After taking a somewhat-long shower, Doji got himself dressed in his usual general-wear attire, which included: a long-sleeved, plain black hooded jumper with a short-sleeved, dark grey shirt underneath. Below the waist he wore his long black, baggy pants and on his feet he wore a single pair of the standard shinobi sandals, which he had chosen to buy a black pair off when he was asked for a specific colour to choose from at the local clothing shop. His hair as usual was kept long and somewhat untidy and stretching as far down away from the head to his upper chest section. Under his jumper's right hand sleeve, he wore his small, retractable katar, which unless needed in battle was always retracted. Once Doji was confident that he was well dressed for the day to come, he decided to wake up his counterpart Gido, who often slept under the genin's bed or inside his cupboard shelves. Allowing the serpent to slither up and into his clothing via one of the openings in his pants, and letting the snake wrap itself comfortably around the boy's torso/back and waist, Doji quickly packed his bags with a few matching pairs of clothing into a small black backpack, before leaving his apartment and making his way through the village hidden in the mist, whilst making his way towards the village gates.

Passing the gates was easy, though such an attempt shouldn't have been a difficult task for a Kirigakure ninja who remained loyal to the village and its people. After walking a few more miles away from the village gates, Doji arrived at the small landmark that marked the end and start of the Kirigakure border, before advancing on forward into the wilderness and out of the mist that surrounded the village itself. 'Hmm, the sun still hasn't risen,' Doji thought to himself, as he paid attention to the lack of sunlight as he travelled through a vast land of tree formations, occasional patches of grass and acres of unknown land. Eventually, he arrived at the borderline of Sunagakure, though by that time of day the sun had already risen and the heat that came with it had started to attack Doji on spur of moment. It was then Doji knew, he had arrived at Sunagakure no Sato, the famous village he had always wanted to visit in the past, though had never found a good enough reason to, alone at least. He had heard so much from rumors about the place, though knew nothing could beat seeing the place for himself in person. As expected, when he past through the border line that marked the village's border, he was greeted by a small sandstorm that forced him to grab on tightly to his bag with one hand and keep his hood over his head by pulling it down over his face with his other free hand. Within minutes of passing by the border, he had arrived at the village gates. He was asked a few questions by the men standing on guard at the gates, most of them asking him about his age, his business in Sunagakure and how long he was planning to stay there. "I travelled here for the Chunin exams and I plan to be out of the village once they are over..." Doji informed the three men guarding the entrance gates, with his usual monotone voice. At first, the men looked at Doji as though he was an outcast, which he couldn't say he wasn't. Confused faces could be seen on all three of the men's faces, before slowly and gradually, those confused faces turned into weak smiles and raised eye brows. After the men exchanged a few words between themselves in what they thought was secrecy, they granted the boy entrance into the village, advising him to meet where the other Chunin applicants were meeting as so as he had spotted them. After entering through the village gates, Doji decided to first find himself a cheap hotel to stay at during his time in the village. Without the guidance of a map or a tour guide, Doji managed to find a small hotel, not too far away from the village entrance, that had a cheap enough price which Doji was comfortable with paying. Before he did anything else in the village, Doji made sure he had still what he had left with when he travelled from Kirigakure. He had heard rumors of a large number of criminals taking the belongings of those who travelled to or from Sunagakure, though the genin knew better than to believe that that only happened in Sunagakure.
