Lycanthropes and vampires lived among us - co-workers, family members, and even next door neighbors. There were laws that protected the preternatural, given them equal rights. They were able to own their own businesses, work in school systems, hospitals, and even had the right to vote. Everything was going great for the preternatural community until a law was passed that banned the supernatural from adopting children as they were was as unfit parents. The community was outraged and protested against the law, taking it all the way to the white house where Human’s First and Human Against Vampires got involved as they agreed with the new law.

The media stirred up a frenzy as it increased to the point that there was twenty-four hour protecting going on around the white house. Clans and Kisses in Wisconsin moved into maximum secured facilities -- banks, courthouses, jails, etc. fearing for their lives. The government had enough of that as they found the brightest scientists in the country to make a cure for lycanthropy and vampirism. The research was going well until one of the scientist started doing his own research to create super mutants.
