Rin

D-rank
Once her daily training was over, Rin went to her favorite spot. Here she felt free. She made herself comfortable and watched the clouds above. Being here helped her escape from memories of the day her parents were killed.

The wind was blowing in her face and it relaxed her even more. Reaching for the bag she had with her, she took out an onigiri she brought with her and took a small bite.

She put the memory into the back of her mind and focused on the future instead. Today was the day she will be assigned a squad and an instructor and she was looking forward to it.

It was a free day for Takeshi, he didn't have any missions, and he was putting off training until a later date. For now, he only wanted to chill out somewhere that was nice and quiet. So he decided to go up to the Hokage Mountain for the second time. The first time he went up there, it didn't really work out, so he thought he would give it another try. He decided to wear something more laid back, so all he had on was some sweat pants, tank top, and some slippers. His forehead protector was worn loosely on his neck. His long red hair moved slightly in the cooling breeze. As he drew near the top of the mountain, he opened the book in his right hand and began to search for the page he left off of. He flipped through the pages aimlessly because he never used a book mark. He finally found the page he was on when he got to the top of the mountain. When he reached the top, he saw a young lady eating. Takeshi was surprised at first, but he decided to go ahead and sit next to her. He didn't sit too close, but close enough to start up a conversation. Avoiding eye contact, he looked into his book as he spoke.

The weather is nice today isn't. He said in a calm tone, he hoped he didn't sound too awkward.

"The weather is nice." Rin said "Can I ask your name?"

She shifted her position so that she now looked at her companion. She smiled

"Today is the squad selection day for us newly made Genin. I am looking forward to it." she murmured, speaking more to herself.

She beamed at the prospect. Today was the day she makes the first step towards her dream.

Takeshi turned away from his book to see the girl. The girl had light brown hair that reached her shoulder. She had blue eyes that seemed lighter in the light. Her hair was short and it reached her shoulders. Her forehead protector was worn on her forehead.

My name is Takeshi Uzumaki. Mind telling me your name?

Then Takeshi heard the girl say something about squad selections. Takeshi didn't know they had that, but then again, he never really kept track of that type of stuff.

"My name is Rin Hyuga. My ancestor was Hinata Hyuga. Pleased to meet you." Rin explained, bowing slightly. "Want some onigiri?" she asked, offering him a riceball

Rin then felt a slight movement around her legs and looked down to see her dog looking at her expectantly. Smiling, she picked him up. He must have followed her up here.

The dog licked her palm and she giggled.

"It is pretty nice up here, don't you think?"

Takeshi listened as Rin gave her family background. She wasn't the first Hyuuga he had met, but she was the first one to have blue eyes in his book. Takeshi watched as she held her hand out and offered up some of her onigiri. It had been a long time since he had that, so he happily accepted. As he started to bite into the onigiri, he noticed something crawling around under Rin. At first he thought it was some kind of huge bug, so his heart began to race, but then it just turned out to be a little dog. Then Takeshi focused his attention back on Rin who was about to speak.

It is pretty nice up here, don't you think?

Yeah, I haven't been up here in awhile. It feels like were disconnected from the world. Or at least, that's how it feels to me.

"I think here is pretty peaceful." Rin said "I gives me some sense of solace to be here."

She patted her dog and sighed in contentment. She then took another bite of onigiri and gave some to her dog. She looked up at peaceful blue sky. Peace. She hoped in will stay like this, but from the experience her ancestor had, she knew it was unlikely.

From what her deceased parents told her, her ancestor fought in fourth great war and survived it. She sighed.

Takeshi listened to what Rin had to say. It was indeed peaceful here on the mountain. Takeshi didn't have much else to say about the mountain itself. Stuff like this had only so much of an affect on him, sure it was cool. It had a nice view and such, but after a while, it looses it luster. Either way, Rin seemed to like it, obviously she liked the mountain for than Takeshi. Takeshi began to feel more and more awkward as the silence between the two went on. He didn't know the girl, so he didn't want to offend her by asking her about her past. He knew that most people didn't like strangers to know about their personal life too much. Takeshi scratched his head and began to read his book, flipping the pages every once in a while in a steady pace.

So your ancestor Hyuuga Hinata, eh? Bet the Hyuuga clan treats you like royalty?” Exclaimed a voice behind the pair of Konohagakure shinobi that were conversing. If the figures turned around, they would be treated to the sight of Kichirou walking out of the woods that lay behind the Hokage Mountain. The gambler in question was currently flipping a golden coin up in the air, the rays of the sun hitting it every time it went into the air.

The man in question had just returned from an underground poker game that took place in a disclosed location within the forest. Only a select few knew about the location or even the password that was needed to get in it. Luckily Kichirou was one of the few. Though the man suspected the shinobi populous to knew about the location but didn't bother dissolving it, for the people who play there wasn't a harm for society. And any money they made was spent back within the village, so it was a win – win. . .

I hope I wasn't intruding into something personal?” The chartreuse green eyed male asked, wearing dark neutral colors. It would be noted the man didn't have on a headband, so unless he was recognizable from his short stint at the academy none of the people would know he's a shinobi of Konohagakure. Something that he preferred.

Green eyes took noticed of both male and female along with a dog that seemed to belong to the female. Mentally shrugging the man decided to introduce himself to the pair.

Name's Taigen Kichirou. How is you all on this wonderful day?” He asked, flashing a bright smile. Time to meet new people!

"Hello." Rin said "As for your question, my ancestor was a bit of a dark horse, so she wasn't exactly respected. From what I know, she fought in the fourth great war and survived it."

After she said the sentence, she turned towards one particular head carved into the side of the mountain

"That over there was her husband." she said, pointing towards the head she was looking at.

She patted her dog onto the head gently.

Takeshi watched as the man came out of nowhere. He didn't know what to expect, and wasn't sure of exactly what was going on. The man was wearing neutral colors, and he had green eyes. He was walking up slowly with a coin, flipping it which seemed to be in rhythm with each of his steps. Takeshi didn't see a forehead protector on his head, or anywhere that could be easily seen, and this made Takeshi worry a little bit. This man was basically a stranger, and was getting closer to him and Rin. Then Takeshi heard Rin answer the man's question, which confused Takeshi even more. Do you know this man?

Acceptance. And caution. That's was one of the first thing Kichirou noted between the pair. The girl was acceptance of his presence, with not the slightest of apprehensiveness about a man who had just walked out of the woods from kami only knows. The male of the group, who was obviously a ninja, was cautious about Kichirou – which was good. One couldn't trust anyone nowadays. And seeing how the gambler didn't wear a headband, there wasn't anyway to tell where his allegiance lay.

Oh? I read about those two, quite the interesting pair.” He stated, greens eyes eying the Hokage monument . The position of the Kage was a fools job. And one that Kichirou never plans on wanting. “So do they treat you, like they treated Hinata back than?” He asked, having read enough about the Hyuuga clan to know that some of their ethics were questionable to say the least.

Sorry, where is my manners? I'm Taigen Kichirou.” The gambler introduced himself, looking at the male of the group, while the coin still being flipped in the air. Even as he introduced himself, Kichirou didn't bothered in mention his status in the village. Was he a ninja or a civilian? Maybe he was spy posing as a civilian? Who knows?
