Close Call| Defend the Fortress| Complete
Rays of light tenderly caressed the cheeks and face, like a lover did to their better half, of Nanashi, egging the chuunin of Iwagakure to awake from the deep slumber. Like a child who didn't want to be waken, his hands moved to block the light from his face, a futile endeavor. The fluttering of Nanashi's eyelids and the opening of them, exposed his golden orbs to the rest of the world – as the man find it useless too sleep in, seeing how the sun didn't want him to rest anymore. Sighing, Nanashi began to shift in bed before feeling a weight upon his right arm. Wait why couldn't he feel his arm? Looking over to where the appendage were suppose too be, a smile manifested on his feature, noticing the woman who he were planning on marrying, sleeping peaceful and drooling on the arm in question. For a few moments the former geisha just laid there looking at the woman sleeping peacefully. But all good moments can't last forever. For Nanashi had plans to do a couple of missions today, taking Akio out for dinner or something afters. She deserved it.
“Akio-chan, I need my arm.” Shaking her gently, it didn't seemed like the girl wanted to let loose his arm – seeing how she tighten around and snuggle into it once he spoke those words. She looked so cute just simply there and Nanashi wouldn't like a part of him didn't won't too walk her up. But alas he really needed his arm.
“Akio-chan. The sooner I can do these missions. The quicker I can return home.” Those were the magic words that seem to get Akio to let go of his arm. Leaning over towards the drowsy woman that he loves, Nanashi capture her lips in a passionate kiss, something that she returned, sloppily, but nevertheless fulled with love that Nanashi knew she had for him. Some might find it disgusting to kiss their lover in the morning, fearing the dreaded 'morning breath' but Nanashi didn't care nor did he mind. Breaking the kiss, his hand caressing her face before kissing her forehead.
“I'll be back in a couple of hours. Your breakfast will be wrapped up on table. There's money in the drawer, if you need to do shopping or anything. Once I return we'll be heading out, seeing it been around since we actually been on a date. Or we can just stay home and I can cook.” Nanashi said, having stripped off all his clothes within the room, having taking a shower late last night – the young man really didn't need one this morning.
“I love you baby. See you soon.” Kissing her again on the forehead, Nanashi mentally chuckle seeing that Akio had long since fell back to sleep, snuggling into his pillow, mumbling incoherently. Nanashi knew the woman won't remember anything he said, seeing how she exactly wasn't a morning person like him. With that in mind, Nanashi took out a small notepad and wrote on it, basically retelling her what he did just moments ago along with a small compliment of how beautiful she is and the likes. After that was done, Nanashi grabbed his set kunai, putting them in the holster before continuing with his morning ritual.
A good twenty minutes later, Nanashi been seen walking out of his home, locking the door behind him before making his way towards the administration build. Instead of walking through the streets of Iwagakure, the chuunin decided to roof hop, like any respectable ninja could do; waving at any and all ninjas who he passed to and from various places.
“Here for a mission?” The bald haired chuunin who were manning the station asked, obviously bored with his job.
“Yeah something C or B rank if possible.” Nanashi stated, as he idly wonder what his friend who usually man the station might be. Though he were going to ask the bald haired chuunin about it, but seeing how the man looked like he was in a foul mood – Nanashi decided against it. Though he didn't do it out of the kindness of his heart.
“Here you go.” Nodding as he caught the mission, Nanashi quickly unraveled the parcel and began to read and memorize the contents of it. Apparently there has been another incident at the Bastion Adamantine, a giant wall that use to be guarded by Zenchi Kyouga, unidentified number shinobis have been attacking gigantic embankment and the guards who were patrolling the area can't handle them. Because of the lack of not knowing the exact rank of the ninjas that were attacking, this was considered a B-rank mission. And it was recommended that it should be taking with a partner or group. But Nanashi would be taken said mission by himself, and he subconsciously wonder if he would make it back from this one. No, he will make it back from this mission, for he had someone waiting for him at home.
“Thanks.” Nanashi stated, pushing the negative thoughts that desperately tried to claw it's way too the surface. Walking out of the room, Nanashi clutched the parcel in hand, sending a burst of katon chakra, turning it to blacken ashes that scattered amongst the wind, once outside.
Taking a deep breath, Nanashi began too roof top towards the general direction of Bastion Adamantine. Mentally Nanashi began to go over everything he possibly knew about the area in question. Besides being chakra reinforced, and the guards being trained by Kyouga Zenchi, a sannin caliber shinobi, there wasn't much that he knew about the general area. Which was a bad thing. For in a world of shinobi, knowledge was everything. It can mean the success or failure of any mission. But more importantly it could mean if you all come home or get an early retirement – via death. So with that in mind the man decided to find out information about the area, before going there.
Thirty minutes later, Nanashi can been seen kneeling on a branch that overlooked the giant wall. As the morning sun continue to rise, it's rays trying and desperately tried too lick at the face of Nanashi, but was denied by the numerous of tree branches that blocked it's attempts. Earlier the chuunin had stopped and asked some of the more veteran shinobis about the Bastion Adamantine, if there was any hidden points that could be exploited along with the general lay out of the area. The shinobis told him what they knew, while advising him to always be on the highest branch possible – seeing how most shinobi always be looking downward and not upward.
The slight rustling and creaking of leaves and branch being disturbed by something or someone alerted Nanashi that he wasn't alone. Citrine eyes looking around in trying to find the exact location of where the noise might becoming from, they picked up the swift movement of four dark figures, passing underneath the branch he were on – never once looking up. He eyed them suspiciously as he watch them head towards the wall. So these must be the people who were attacking. Just when he were about to move, he noticed another figure moving in the same direction as the other four. It seemed like this one was the runt of the group, seeing how he obviously couldn't keep up with the other four.
Timing it perfect, a lightning senbon materialized within his hands and with a flick of the wrist was thrown at the shinobi, nailing them at the base of the neck – dead. Nanashi would been gone by the time the other shinobi come back to check on their comrade, having heard the sounds of tree limbs breaking, finding him decease. One down four to go.
The screams of a shinobi crying out for help, would fall on deaf ears, as their assailant had covered their mouth before drawing a line underneath their neck – crimson liquid gushing out, he was dead. Killing the second shinobi, Nanashi didn't even bother to hide the man's body, instead focus on the other three that were out there somewhere. The chuunin got incredibly lucky with this one, seeing how the man literally were caught with his pants down and thus was easy to dispatched. The medic nin was about to move when the sound of talking alerted him that someone was making their way in the general direction. Hiding behind a tree , citrine watched as another shinobi from the group stepped into the area, spotting the dead body of his comrade. A shout of help would never be heard, only a soft 'thump' as a kunai found itself embedded into the man's head, his eyes widen in surprise, only than seeing the appearance of his assailant – as he died.
“That was close. . .” Nanashi muttered before heading towards the direction where the other two where located. Nanashi didn't noticed the strip wire, as he snapped it, causing shurikens too launch at the chuunin. Though he managed to dodge a few of them, one still stuck him in the arm, causing him to wince in pain, before he pulled it out, dropping it to the ground.
“Well, well what do we have hear? A lone Iwa shinobi out here by himself.” exclaimed a deep grawlly voice, before the leader of said voice made himself known by walking into the slight clearing, followed by another individual.
“So you must be the runt who took out the other three. Hmpf, can't believe they fell to someone like you.” The man continued to speak, not even glancing at the cooling body of his body comrade.
While the man talk, Nanashi took the moment to size up his opponents. The leader, who he presumed was the one who were talking, was an incredibly burly man. A long brown goatee was the defining feature of his chiseled face. The man were wearing an all black set-up that did nothing to hiding the bulging muscles that hid underneath the clothing. By the man's stances and stature, Nanashi deducted that he was a taijutsu user. Something that Nanashi wasn't particularly didn't like to deal with.
The shinobi beside him was incredibly wiry, the only thing worthy mentioning is the rapier that hung loosely on his hip. A fencer. Something that Nanashi didn't know anything about. Only reading about them in the few scroll in the library and knowing how much of a nuisance they can be(if what the text in the scrolls hold truth).
“Anyway enough chatting, lets show this punk why he shouldn't have messed with us.” And with that the two shinobi charged at Nanashi – wanting to end the chuunin's life.
Fifteen minutes later, Nanashi made his way down towards the mission hall. His clothing having been ripped/torn and showed signs of burnt marks. There were a noticeable limp in his stride, the chuunin having caught a nasty earth spike in his leg, that had only been healed through the usage of medical ninjutsu. The fight in question didn't last long. But that was expected of chuunin level opponents. However, despite it being short the fight was intense with Nanashi came close in losing his life a couple of times before finding away to deal with both of them. Once he made it to the hall, he turned in his mission, before heading home to his lover. Wanting nothing more to be with her right now and enjoy their time together.
For on this day. Nanashi almost lost his life. . .
