Tap. Tap. Tap.

It'd be about time for Kenny to get out and do something for a change. It'd been awhile since he had even bothered to shift an get a move on. He only had one more mission to do before he ranked on up into the big leagues. Meh, that itself was only going to be a bigger pain in the arse. More work, do this, do that. Meh, maybe he could be ANBU someday? Pfft, yeah right. As if he wanted ten times more amount of work. Shaking his head, he lazily slid out of his bed and shimmied down his apartment stares, grabbing clothes as he sluggishly put them on. Off with one set of clothes, on with another.

And then the challenge came. Hitting him in the face. Literally. He had tripped down the stairs to the house's main exit. The front door. His face had been planted into it's mahogany wood before he spluttered a word of pain and anger. Mother of God. Peeling his face from the door, he move his jaw, it still in check. Yippee!

Opening the door, he wandered on out into the streets, the hustle and bustle drowning out the sound of the water just ahead.

"I think I've to wait for someone...last I heard; I'm being assisted on this mission."

He said lazily, scratching his behind as he sluggishly waddled away into the shade, hiding from the sun.

Chesuke had gotten the notice the previous night. he was to help a Chuunin with his final mission before promotion. a B-rank mission. he was excited, and had made sure to even do laundry in preparation for the mission. who knew what it might consist of.
as he made his way to the meeting area, he suddenly wished he'd trained harder. Pulling his hood down over his eyes, he rounded the final turn, and started looking for the man he was so meet.

Kenny

Kenny

D-rank
Hmm...this person was no where to be seen. If they were trying to be found instead of making themselves noticeable then...how exactly would that even work? Kenny was a Chuunin, not a damned specialist in tracking. There were ninja walking back and forth in the village, going about their daily business be it from returning from a mission or meeting a sensei or even a day off for them. Who knew what they were up to. All kenny knew was that he was to meet someone around this area but no one stood out like a sore thumb.

"This is ridiculous."

He mumbled, before turning away and heading off to the villages, monolithic sized gates before flailing his left arm in the air, his voice booming as loud as they could go.

"I'm off on a B-Rank Mission! If you're to accompany me, shift it! We don't have a lot of time to get there!"

His voice cracking up a little from the amount of effort he had to put into the whole shouting business. Not something he liked doing; effort. It was just so overrated and the whole thing about being all Pro-Ninja just seemed so fake! What was he supposed to do? Pull a Guy Sensei and be all like

'Alright then! Today is a mission of the wits and brawn! We're going to push ourselves to the limit and the best way to do that, that's right! You guessed it! A full head on sprint to the destination while carrying a rock on your back! Let's go!'

No, just no. Kenny couldn't handle too much crazy, especially in doses like that. Hell no.

He simply headed to the gates and if his partner didn't meet him by the time he finished this little song in his head, then kenny was leaving, with or without him. He had a mission to do which meant fulfilling it at all costs.

Chesuke

Chesuke

Chesuke though he'd spotted the man he was looking for. he was the only one standing still, after all, and he looked like he was waiting for someone. chesuke started to make his way towards the man through the thick crowd. a large shinobi stepped in between the two of them, and when he'd passed, the man chesuke was looking at had gone.
"i guess that wasn't him" Chesuke muttered to himself wondering if he'd gotten the day or time wrong. almost as soon as the thought passed through his head, a voice shouted across the area.
"I'm off on a B-Rank Mission! If you're to accompany me, shift it! We don't have a lot of time to get there!"
yup... that'd be him Chesuke thought. he had been heading toward the right man after all, he'd just been a few seconds late for his partner's patience to last.
breaking into a run, Chesuke had to knock a couple people aside to get there. this time, though, he was careful to keep an eye on his target.
"sorry i'm late." he apologized. "genin Chesuke assigned to aid you on your mission"

"Sorry I'm late! Genin Chesuke, assigned to aid you on your mission"

Huh? Dafaq? Another Genin to come along for the ride? Really? Kenta didn't mind working Genin, oh no. Didn't mind it one bit since he himself used to be one but it was the fact that every mission he was sent on, requiring that he have aid, always consisted of one or two Genin. Like, seriously? The fumes began to float from his nostrils as he cracked his neck.

"Management is going to hear about this."

He said quietly, anger filling each word as he turned round, his face now blank. Staring a the boy, Kenny couldn't say that he'd met him in his life. Fresh meat. Let's see what the kiddie has got. Kenta fixed his orange cap on tightly before his golden eyes would scan the boy. Nothing significantly outstanding from the looks. Meh.

"I'm Kenta Sarutobi, pleasure to meet you Chesuke. You understand the terms of the mission?" He asked, slipping on his orange gloves and fixing his long, slim black trench coat. Knuckles cracking as Kenta began to flex from left to right. Best to limber up cause once they finished this idle chit-chat, Kenny was going for it.

nervous about the way the chuunin in front of him was staring, Chesuke fidgeted, making sure this hood was hiding his eyes from outside view. the man in front of him looked mad about something, but Chesuke wasn't sure about what. he wasn't that late, was he?
"actually, i was only informed to meet you here and assist where i could. i assumed the details of the mission were confidential, and didn't ask any questions. it's not like i've been on too many missions before." crap. that wasnt the right thing to say to instill confidence in the man that was going to be relying on me
Kenta was now limbering up. man, is he going to expect me to run the whole way? Chesuke thought. or worse, is he going to beat the crap out of me so i don't go on this mission with him?
not wanting to be caught off guard in the latter scenario, Chesuke mentally prepared himself for the attack.

Why was this kid all fidgety and jumpy all of a sudden? Was it something he said? Surely not the way he looked...? Granted he did look like hell, the bags under the eyes and whatnot but he didn't look too bad...did he? Nah. If he did look bad, it was no reason for the kid to be..embarrassed? Right word? Nyeh, what the heck.

"...Right. Anyway, lets get a move on. Behind on schedule. Keep up now."

He said calmly as he turned around from the boy, not caring about the fact that he had completely hid most his face from meeting. Strange little child. He walked from the gates and shot out ahead and into the trees, slowing down to Genin speed as he didn't want to lose the kid on the mission.

As he ran through the forest floor, Kenta gestured for them to head on up to the tree tops and jump the way there. Nothing like working the leg muscles. And with the gesture finished, Kenta jumped into the trees above, vaulting over and swinging from branch to branch. Easiest way to avoid contact with anyone on the floor level.

"Basically we're to find a rouge ninja of the leaf. It shouldn't be too hard but he does have a unique Genjutsu so, avoid looking at his eyes as much you can." he shouted behind him, wanting the kid to hear it since he didn't want to have to repeat himself.

Chesuke, trying to prove himself to Kenta as a useful partner, started to pull ahead of the chuunin, barely exerting himself dammit, we arerunning the whole way he thought. as the chuunin signaled and lept to the trees, Chesuke faltered, and stayed on the ground.
over the rushing winds, he heard Kenta shouting that they were to catch a rogue ninja. smiling under his hood, he pulled his hood low over his eyes. awesome! this will be a chance to test my skills in a real battle

Fair enough then, seemed as though the kid preferred to stay on the ground level. Ah, what the heck. Let him. He wanted to run around, other than jump around, that was up to him. Shrugging, Kenny continued to jump ahead and scout for the kid. The kid, Chesuke, was under his protection, seeing as though Kenny was a rank higher than the genin so it landed on his head if the kid was hurt or even killed. Which was not going to happen. A benin and chuunin could easily handle this mission...surely? Yeah, he'd done it before...

"Just a little further" He said to himself, jumping from branch to branch before coming to an opening and landing not too far in front of where Chesuke would've come from. The small village where the two were to find the man was just in front of them both, the gates that lead into the small village just a couple of feet from them. Hmm...best place would be to look in a bar. Most people with information would be in a local hub. Yep. Probably best to have a look in there and see if they could find any information or even better, the target.

"Chesuke. I'm off to have a look in the pub. You can come with or wait for me outside. Hurry." He said, making sure to have himself heard before he began to walk through the gates and into the village, locating a bar just not too far from them.

Chesuke heard Kenta's statement about the bar, and decided to go along with him. he was supposed to be Kenta's backup, after all. no since in separating so as to let down the chuunin when he needed Chesuke to back him up.
as they entered the small pub, Chesuke stayed close enough to be of assistance if needed, but far enough so as to not be in the way. he was well-aware that he stood out in the place as a 12-year-old kid in a pub. especially a kid who insisted on keeping his hood over his eyes. it was dark enough in the pub that Chesuke was glad he would have access to his byakuugan to overcome the limitations on his sight. he'd gotten pretty good at looking between the threads of his hood, but in the atmosphere of the pub, even that wasn't helping much. keeping an awareness of his surroundings, Chesuke began to search the faces for the man they were searching for.

Oh joy...all eyes on us? Kenta shook his head and turned to the side, looking at his hooded ally. Strange little boy. He was going to need all the visibility that he could get while being in this dimly lit room, filled with grotesque creatures of the beer. Urgh. The very smell was enough to force Kenta to quit the mission alone. He couldn't handle the smell of beer and grimy belly buttons...urgh. Yep. If smell could kill, Kenta would and could easily die right here and now but he had to be more realistic of the situation at hand: They had to apprehend a rouge ninja. And what better way to find the person than ask the barkeep?
Kenta began to walk towards the bar, leaving Chesuke behind, signalling him to look around. These were normal men, no chakra presences from any of them and none nearby. A genin could easily ass hand these bitches.

"Have you seen this man?" Kenta asked, placing a wanted poster on the table, allowing the barkeep to see the picture clearly while Kenta kept his attention on his surroundings. Last thing he wanted was a scene with a drunk. Or even worse, for a scene to break out between a drunk and Chesuke. Meanwhile, the barkeep just simply rubbed his chin as he seemed to go into a questioning state of mind. It seemed obvious that he might have seen the man...if so, then the mission was going to be easier than previously thought, however, the man shook his head and quickly walked away from Kenta, attending to another patron. Bastard. Lies don't go well for a shinobi but no scenes today. A simple nod and Kenta had turned round and made his way out the door.

"Chesuke, let's go. He's not here..."

He simply said, walking out the door and out into the open...no one around though. Still air and and uneasy atmosphere...maybe he was here...? Kenta kept a keen eye open, watching for any abnormal movements in his peripheral field of vision, entrusting his back to the Genin. This way there was no form of surprise. Flicking out a Kunai in each hand, he threw one back at the pub, the kunai embedding itself into the wall of he shack. Chesuke could use this as he pleased. Better to have some form of protection.

Chesuke noted Kenta's immediate unease as they exited the pub. *thuck* a Kunai hit the wall next to Chesuke. it was flicked by the Chuunin, and Chesuke understood the hint that his senior was hinting at; he may very well need it. it was obvious that Kenta hadn't yet guessed what was hidden beneath the hood. best to keep it that way as long as possible. picking up the kunai, Chesuke stepped out to Kenta's right, readying for a sudden attack, Chesuke focused his chakra into his eyes, activating the Byakuugan silently, and watching their surroundings carefully with its all-encompassing visual range. he wasn't skilled enough with it to see through the walls of the buildings, but he knew he could pick out anything aimed to hit them easily, and his hood was designed to let his enhanced sight to pass through with no reluctance whatsoever. Chesuke realized that he'd been holding his breath in tension. slowly, he released it, reading his leader's stance so as to see what they're to do next.

Waiting till Chesuke was next to him, Kenta continued to examine his surroundings before noticing a strange figure, trying to evade the eyesight of the two ninja on the search...for him. Gotcha! Clicking his tongue, Kenta shot off in the direction of the man, the man running from the two had jumped over ledge, dropping down into a small collection of houses, hiding away from Kenta. Not like this! Leaping over the edge, Kenta had marked each and every move he made with a slash on the walls he had passed with his kunai, allowing Chesuke to know where he had ran off if he hadn't been able to keep up.

Bracing himself, he landed on the ground before rolling to cushion the fall, before chasing after the man who was now looking around in panic. He had no where to go. Strange, since it was an open space. Not giving him one minute to plead his case, Kenta formed a single hand seal, air chakra building up in his chest before releasing several fairly sized balls of intense winds, travelling at about 50mph, two of the balls soon hitting him at the sides while the rest bombarded him in the chest area, pieces of clothing and small burst of blood shooting off into the air. The man was soon embedded into the wall behind him, groaning in pain as he grew limp. Smirking, Kenta walked forward, reading him his rights...

"I don't think so..."

The man groaned, his head shooting up before releasing his Genjutsu off, catching Kenta completely off guard. Gasping, Kenta shook his head and looked around him...no...the Genjutsu was beginning to take place...

"Kenny! C'mon, we'll be late for class!"

A kind and familiar voice said from afar, echoing in the distance. No, it wasn't real, it was all lie! Beginning to panic, Kenta screamed off for Chesuke to either snap Kenta out of the Genjutsu by either smacking him or something or for him to run ahead and ass hand the man. It was up to Chesuke to get into gear and do something!

"Chesuke! GO!"

great, alleyways,Chesuke thought to himself as Kenta ran after the man who had been lucky enough to be just outside the Byakugan's range. Charging after the two men, Chesuke released his Byakugan, as it wouldn't serve him well in a chase. he'd have to bring it back up once they cornered the man they were tracking.
Chesuke heard the sound of the impact as he rounded the corner, having fallen behind because of his refusal to use the rooftops. "Chesuke, GO!" Kenta yelled out. was this a plea for me to take his place, or run away? Chesuke wondered to himself. either way, he could tell there was something not right about Kenta. reactivating his Byakugan, he couldn't help but notice that Kenta's chakra network was not behaving properly, which could only mean Genjutsu.
Chesuke kept running forward, doing a flip over Kenta, and using the opportunity to strike at a couple of the Tenketsu in his head and shoulders. "that should be enough to remove the genjutsu" he said aloud, hoping Kenta was back behind him. with his continued momentum, Chesuke saw their target trying to flee. "oh, no you don't!" he yelled at the man. envisioning the trigram seal he required on the ground, it was easy to tell the man was well within range for his planned attack. "Eight Trigrams, 32 Palms!" he called out, making first two strikes, then four, followed by eight, and ending with the final 16.
as the man was blown back from the attack, Chesuke smiled. he could see the man's chakra network was overloaded. it looked like he wouldn't be able to use jutsu properly for a while. finaly being able to see the effects of the 32 palms on a person, Chesuke was pleased with its effects. "damage to the organs, AND Chakra network. that's pretty cool he thought.

One, two and thump...The fuck? And just like that, Kenta was out of the Genjutsu but he felt his chakra close up around the points where Chesuke had struck him, suspicions beginning to arise which was only further confirmed when Chesuke exclaimed the Hyuga trait jutsu; the Eight Trigrams. So he was a Hyuga then? So why had he been hiding his Kekkei Genkai from Kenta this whole time? That didn't matter, he had to tie up the criminal. Walking over to the man, Kenta still rubbing his head from the closed up points.

"I'll talk to you later, let's get this home so we can get some rest and money."

He smiled, the thought about the mission reward was just...HMMM! Especially, since after he finished this mission, he was going to become a Sp.Jounin! Oh yay! Thank god for ranking up, his face now lightened with happiness which was before, scribbled with annoyance. Tying the man up, Kenta threw the man over his shoulder, turning away before exiting the scene and village. Finally...

"Chesuke, race me!"

He shouted back before jumping up into the trees, their prisoner unconsious from having been propelled into a wall. Not bad for a Genin... With that said, Kenta raced off ahead of Chesuke, expecting him to keep up.

Chesuke didn't like the way Kenta had said "i'll talk to you later" perhaps the genjutsu had faded faster than Chesuke thought it would, and his eight Trigrams 32 palms had been seen... shit chesuke didn't like that idea, but it was too late now. "race me." Kenta said, talking off with the unconscious man over his shoulders. Chiba smiled to himsef, pulling his hood back over his eyes before taking off at his max speed, which he knew could rival a chunin's.
