The Simple Misunderstanding

Around half past noon, Zetsume was already half way to the employer's house. From the letter he got from his Raikage, apparently she thinks her husband is cheating on her, and he is to investigate. The only reason why he took the job is because he was low on money. He never did like to get in the middle of two peoples relationship problems but for a nice bit of ryo he can always help one side.

After walking up to the steps of her house, he noticed that it was rather nice. It was much better than some houses in the lower quarters, seems she had some money. Before he could knock on the door she opened it, almost as if expecting to see him. Zetsume kindly introduced himself before taking a seat on her couch. She began to ramble on and on about her husband and why she thinks he is cheating on her. After awhile Zetsume began to tone her out as his mind started to think of a new jutsu. When the woman finally stopped to take a breath Zetsume just simply asks where he works and what time he will get off. He was the local baker, he is very frugal with his money apparently which is why they had such a nice house. After drinking the woman's lemonade, which she had offered when he was about to leave, he set off to post up near his work.

Many hours past which seemed like an eternity. Nothing out of the ordinary happened other than the fact of an unusual amount of customers buying jelly filled donuts. Zetsume had been sitting on the street. He used a Transformation Technique, to make himself appear as a homeless man begging for ryo while he was keeping tabs on the baker. Some people actually even gave him some ryo while he was begging. It made him happy that people still had a heart.

Five minutes until he closes, Zetsume thought to himself while keeping his transformation solid. A young woman walked into the store, she wore a nice black dress and was carrying a suitcase inside. After almost twenty minutes Zetsume saw her leave counting ryo in her hand. She did not have the suitcase with her. When she had left the baker calmly locked his store up and began to walk in the direction of his house.

"Spare this old man some change?" Zetsume said to him while shaking his cup at the baker. Zetsume was in torn clothes, manged hair, and looked as if he did not shower in weeks. The only thing he could not reproduce from the Transformation Technique was the ability to smell bad. He tried to keep his distance hoping that the baker would not notice. The baker showed a smile on his face while he handed the poor old homeless man his box of donuts. "My anniversary with my wife is comming up. I feel like being generous". said the baker to Zetsume in disguise. At first Zetsume was shocked that he was not cheating, in his opinion the woman the item to him was much better looking than his wife.

"You must have gotten her a nice gift then eh?"

"Yes, I did. It took me quite some time to find the perfect one for her. Would you like to see?"

Zetsume nodded as he looked at the beautiful heart shaped diamond. It was about the size of a thumb but it looked rather magnificent. Zetsume told him that she would love it and for the gods to bless him. Once the baker was out of sight, Zetsume released the Transformation Technique and began running very fast to the clients house.

Zetsume knew he could make it there before the baker but he wondered what would happen if he could not deliver the information before he got home. Panting and out of breath, Zetsume went to knock on the door but once again she opened right before his hand could make contact with the door. He told her everything about the night, and that she had nothing to worry about. He left out the gift idea only to make it that more surprising. He knew that she would just love that jewel. She thanked him but it seemed she still worried a little. Without a doubt, she will forget all of of this worrying when she sees her gift.

While walking back to his house after collecting his money from the mission, he noticed a man begging for money on the streets. He remembered the looks everyone gave him when they thought he was in his shoes earlier in the day. Kneeling down, Zetsume gave him the money he had earned while he was in his Transformation Technique. The old man thanked him. Zetsume seemed it was only right to give the money he earned while pretending to homeless to the people who are actually homeless.
