It was about noon, and with the sun reaching its zenith the village was bathed in typical summer heat, making everything sticky, sweaty and just unpleasant in general. It was the time of the year that Kita dreaded the most – she wasn’t much of a summer girl, and this was most likely attributed to the layers upon layers of clothes the girl always wore that caused her to break out in sweat so easily. Yet regardless of the temperature, Kita swore that she would never change her look, this was something that she was not willing to budge on. Through the good old-fashioned game of telephone, Kita had overheard the villagers discussing some strange happenings of late – something along the lines of bandits infiltrating the village and wrecking havoc, causing damage and even picking fights with the locals. Secretly, Kita was dying to get a mission to deal with this. She was growing tired of these lowly tasks – fixing up a farm was physically taxing and bored her to tears, finding a lost shoe became an almost traumatic experience involving dirt and bunnies, and finding that Corina Gown’s husband was cheating on her was an experience in itself. The short rush she got from scaring the bully was enough to satisfy Kita for the week, but she was craving action, looking for a battle. With a sigh, Kita waved goodbye to her parents before leaving the house and shuffling over to the mission board, fingers crossed, hoping for the best.
