- Natural Disaster. A natural disaster threatens to destroy the tracks or derail the train. Likely a landslide, flash flooding, or even an avalanche. Multiple A Rank Jutsu or a single S Rank Jutsu are needed to avert the disaster, saving the train.
- Safe Travels. The journey is long, and the time passes slowly, but all’s well that ends well. The railway’s fears prove unfounded, and the greatest danger to their trains is a herd of cattle blocking the tracks. That, and several days of poor weather. Nonetheless, see the train safely to its destination and report back your good fortunes.

- Investigate Shipwreck:
- Mission name: Investigate Shipwreck
Mission rank: B.
Objective: Investigate the shipwreck and look for evidence.
Location: Hi no Kuni (Bay of Fire)
Reward: 500 Ryo
Repeatable: ✓
Mission Description: A large merchant vessel was sunk recently in the Bay of Fire. There were no storms reported, and the crew failed to send a distress signal. Despite this the wreckage was found quickly by local port authorities, who request a full shinobi investigation.
Mission Details: The shipwreck is an approximately 35m from stem to stern, and located 22m underwater, approximately 2 hours sail from the coast with good winds. The wreck is still largely in one piece, save for a large hole in the starboard side roughly 3m side. The area is infested with sharks, eels, octopus, and other dangerous marine predators with D-3 to C-3 Rank stats. One of the following scenarios will occur during the mission, it is up to the taker(s) to decide which occurs. If repeating the mission, choose a different scenario than the previous attempt.- Mechanical Failure. The ship appears to have suffered a severe mechanical failure, cause a large hull leak. When water hit the main boiler it caused a pressurized steam explosion, killing most of the crew. The survivors are likely to have drowned, or been eating by marine predators given the treacherous waters.
- Incompetent Crew. The crew was inexperienced, drunken, or otherwise reckless and failed to navigate around a large coastal reef. Their ship struck aground, tearing a large gash in its hull and causing it to rapidly sink. Missing lifeboats leads to the conclusion most crew survived and likely made it to shore.
- Insurance Fraud. There is clear evidence of tampering with the vessel, such as power lines cut, pipes intentionally opened or closed, and other mechanical abnormalities intended to look like an accident. The crew is trying to claim insurance on the ship, which has been a money sink for the Captain for years. Report these findings, with evidence, back to the harbormaster.
- (:crossed_swords:) Giant Beast. A giant marine predator, likely octopus, sea snake, or shark is responsible for sinking the ship and devouring its crew. It is treated as an A-Rank Giant Summon for purposes of stats and specialization, and has S-Rank Suiton Release. Slay the creature so it cannot harm more ships.
- (:crossed_swords:) Pirates. There is clear sign of an attack on the shipwreck, including burn marks, explosive blasts, and damage from melee weaponry. The crew was likely killed by pirates and the cargo taken as plunder. When you return to your ship the pirates will emerge, captaining a 30m long pirate ship crewed by 40 men. The pirates have D-Rank stats, weapons, and armor with their exception of their Captain who has stats comparable to a B-Rank Shinobi.

- Genin Exam Proctor:
- Mission name: Genin Exam Proctor
Mission rank: B.
Objective: Administer the Genin Exams without issue.
Location: Konohagakure
Reward: 500 Ryo
Repeatable: ✓
Mission Description: It’s time for the yearly Genin Exams, and shinobi have been chosen as Exam Proctors. Even shinobi not normally attached to the Academy are recruited, due to the large nature of the classes and the need for many sets of vigilant eyes. Simply see that the exams are concluded smoothly and without issue, and administer disciplinary action as needed.
Mission Details: The Genin Exams are designed to demonstrate reasonable aptitude in the basic skills needed to be successful Shinobi. The first part of the test is a 1 hour long, 200 question multiple choice test with 5 essay questions designed to cover math, history, science, and language skills. The second part is a physical exam, where the students must individually display basic mastery of Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Taijutsu by performing several E-Rank Jutsu of each type. In addition they must demonstrate basic mastery of the kunai and shuriken, scoring adequately at the practice range. Two of the following scenarios will occur during the mission, it is up to the taker(s) to decide which occurs. If repeating the mission, choose a different combination of scenarios from the previous attempt.- Plagiarism. Using keen senses or some monitoring technique you are able to discover a student is plagiarizing their essay questions off a fellow student. Apply a full two letter grade reduction to their score, and give them a new set of essay questions. If caught again, expel them from the exam.
- Mix Up. The exam copy handed out is in fact identical to the pre-test students could study earlier in the week. Discover, hopefully not through a tattletale, that the students were given the incorrect exam. Gather up the unfinished tests and dispose of them, and find the correct paperwork to hand out and begin the test anew.
- Exams Leaked. Class tricksters managed to find copies of the real exam, and they and a number of their friends have found a way to memorize or otherwise leave the answers somewhere visible to them (such as on the nutrition label of a soda can). Discover the cheating ring, and expel them from the exam. Escort them to the Academy Administrator’s office before returning to the exams.
- Injury. A student is seriously hurt during some part of the physical examination, either by an ill performed jutsu or a blunder with their throwing weapons. The wound requires either a D-Rank Medical Ninjutsu technique, or failing that perform basic first aid and escort them to the nursing office for more serious care.
- Boring. Nothing noteworthy happens, the exam is just cripplingly boring. Reminisce about your own Genin Exam back in ‘the day’ to pass the time, find some game of distraction to kill time, or maybe even take a nap. The students may heckle you for falling asleep, and make sure no cheating occurs while you take a snooze.
