Elements: Katon
Clan History: The Nakir Clan's first unified appearance was during the Third Shinobi World War. There had been rumors in and around Kumogakure for generations of a clan of monks that lived underground and practiced the art of the sword. This was partially true, save for the fact that this clan of monks lived amongst the lay people of Kumo and did not openly partake in the shinobi arts. They performed their ritualistic swordsmanship in dim, flame-lit caves and basements, hidden from the world, at extreme temperatures, and protected their Hidden Jutsu and their prized doujutsu, the Netsugan. To the outsider, this clan seemed like normal villagers who lived in Kumogakure and made their living by mining precious ores from the mountains around them. Though they did make a living by mining, the occupation also served as a way for the clan to carve out their ritual spaces and underground compounds.
However, when the Third Shinobi World War broke out, the younger members of the clan felt the nationalistic call of their village and wanted to fight against the evil forces of Konohagakure. Though against the wishes of the clan's elders, the younger members revealed their true identities and rushed off to join the war. They earned their name in one-on-one combat against the members of the Hidden Leaf Village and the prowess of their doujutsu was coveted by sensory shinobi world wide.
After the war, the Nakir clan resumed its unassuming presence in Kumo. They faded from the ranks of the shinobi in two short generations, as they resumed their hermit-like practice of their rituals. The Fourth Shinobi World War came and went but not one member of the Nakir clan partook in the fighting. Their hatred of Konohagakure prevented them from joining the ranks of the Allied Shinobi Force. After the war against the White Zetsu, the clan seemed to disappear back into rumor and legend. Some think it was because they felt the dishonor from not joining in the fight; others think it was something to do with their doujutsu. The truth: the clan has always been there, hidden amongst the people.

Kekkei Genkai Name: Netsugan
Kekkei Genkai Description:
The Nakir clan's hidden doujutsu is the result of generations of shinobi living underground and relying on their abilities with Katon jutsu to see. The unfortunate reality of clan-based inbreeding developed the first mutation of a child's eyes long before the spark of the Third Shinobi World War. The first Nakir to develop the Netsugan was able to perceive her surrounding by the level and intensity of heat as opposed to the visible spectrum of light. This doujutsu became revered in the clan though originally considered a curse. The eyes spread throughout the bloodlines after the first Netsugan user had activated. It revealed itself to shinobi that struggled against all odds in the oppressive heat and darkness of the caves that the clan inhabited and mined.
Eventually, the clan learned how to make the doujutsu appear in Nakir that were deemed worthy, not just through toil, but through ritualistic combat. Acts that were honorable and brought glory to the clan were recorded annually. The elders from the families would convene and select those members from each branch to receive the Netsugan. The rituals that were performed shortly after the selections were ones of intense heat, dim lighting, and rigorous combat. Such a strain awakened the Netsugan in those who did not possess it and strengthened the Netsugan in those who already did.

Attributes:
- Due to having a strong katon affinity, Nakir members receive a -25% word count requirement for learning Katon Techniques.
Drawbacks:
- Must start with Katon as a primary element.
- Regardless of specializations that are chosen, Ninjutsu is the permanent mandatory affinity.
- Due to their reliance on their visual sight, Sensory techs that are not reliant on the eyes require +10% training increase.
- Nakir members are weak against suiton. Suiton acts as if it’s a rank higher against them equal to that of the current damage value.
- When the Netsugan is active (Rain Netsugan and above), every image beyond their seeing range is blurry and unclear.
- Nakir clansmen are primarily swordsmen and must take Hesitant (Specialization) characteristic with no counter balance.
Other:
- The power of the Nakir is contained within their Doujutsu. The Netsugan has multiple stages, with each stage unlocking additional abilities. You must keep track of your Netsugan level at the top of your Jutsu List.
