Round Two: Yoshimatsu Samuru vs. Kintsugi Yugen Mnm3Lg4

This arena takes the form of a serene lake, in the center of which is an island with a 10m radius. Contestants enter on similar banks, 1m radius islands on opposite sides of the arena. The arena is otherwise unremarkable save for necessitating the use of Supernatural Walking Practice, or the ability to swim in order to navigate.

POSTING ORDER
1 - Samuru
2 - Yugen

24 HOUR POST TIMER BEGINS FOR SAMURU 24 HOURS AFTER THIS POST

Stretching his arms and his legs, he prepared himself for the next round. His first round went smoothly and he was hoping this round would too. He arrived early as he waited on the small island. He didn’t care for having wet clothes. They would begin to smell after awhile. Wet clothes tended to weigh him down, which he did like, but he learned to deal with it. Mobility was generally the key for him. That was unless he was trying to power through people  He removed his hoodie and his turtleneck exposing his his pale scarred torso. Samuru then put on his hoodie back on and removed his boots. The didn’t want to be weighed down. If he knew that this was going to be a lake or any arena had water in it, he would have prepared more. It was too late for that now. He would have to deal with what he was given. All of his equipment seemed was in placed. The straps on his axe were now secure. His bow and arrows were in place in their appropriate parts as well. Samuru drew a Peruna arrow from it’s quiver. He looked it over as nothing seemed to be wrong with it. He hummed slightly as he put it back.

“You may begin!” he heard over the loudspeaker.

Samuru focused chakra into his bare feet as he walked off the island into the water. He started running toward the island in the middle of the arena stopping about 20 meters from the island. The ronin, that proclaimed himself in alliance with kiri, would stand on top of the water with the island separating himself and the other side of the lake. He would begin where he was more comfortable out on the water. Samuru was curious about his opponent’s abilities. The young Hatake would take them on soon enough. The young shinobi drew his axe as he flourished it before resting the weapon on his shoulder. Samuru contemplated how he would start his match off, but that would depend on a number of factors.

“Make this worth my while!” he yelled out.

Yugen, despite his outward confidence, was not looking forward to this fight. He had heard his opponent was particularly powerful, with shockingly massive amount of fire power behind their back. Ending their last match in a but a few moments. As a real battle between ninja should, but that didn’t exactly put him in a best of- smack! “Alright, let’s freaking do this.” Yugen’s resolve returned to him and he finally allowed himself to be led over to the arena.

It would turn out that this was an watery arena. Just his luck… The advantage was already in their favor.

He and his opponent were on opposite sides of the arena on small islands and it would seem that they were supposed to meet up on the center island and duke it out there. Yugen estimated the distance to the center island to be somewhere around thirty meters. He looked around and thought about how he was going to play this. If anything he definitely needed- Yugen glanced to the side and saw the overseer of this battle about wrapping things up. He got into position, coming up with a plan that should work.   “You may begin!” Instantly Yugen would project his sphere barrier one meter from his body and begin to roll towards the water, though for a bit of insurance to make sure that he would make it to the island at least. Knowing his limits, he’d accelerate for only a little bit, not all the way, lest he be sent crashing directly onto the other side of the arena. Focusing more chakra into the bubble jutsu he dashed across the water with ferocious speed, reaching the island in less that three quarters of a second, and pushing past it accidently. All he could see was the island, and then suddenly he was on it, and still moving. Calmly he reversed his jutsu, forcing it to spin in the opposite direction, accelerating just in time to prevent him from skimming like a stone on his opponent’s half of the island. Almost touching the water. A quick breathe to retain composure before he looked out to see his opponent, shirtless on the water. They called out to Yugen.

“Make this worth my while!”

He’ll give a damn good fight back if nothing else, but he didn’t waste breath on saying anything in retort. The fight had already begun and every second mattered. Instead he would simply project a second barrier around his opponent a heart beat after they finished speaking. The smallest that he could produce. The front of the barrier softly pressed up against his bare chest, the top pressed against the tufts of their red flaming hair. The back of this barrier was secured, asserting a feather of pressure against whatever equipment that they were carrying on their back, the sides of the barrier following a similar theme of being as close as possible while the bottom was just below the surface of the water that they stood upon. The finishing product would roughly be 1.85 meters in height, 0.5 meters thick from front to back, and about 1 meter in width. The, transferring the psionics jutsu from his bubble to the newly created barrier, and with barely a thought shoved the entire barrier beneath the surface of the waves, going down as far down as he could. He would allow their items and jutsu to pass through unhindered but he wasn’t going to let this man back up above the waters until this match was over.

Samuru suddenly couldn’t move his body. The next thing he knew, he was that he was sinking. Luckily, he held his breath before he was plunged into the depths of the lake. He couldn’t tell how far his body was sinking or how fast. Though, he didn’t want to wait and find out. Samuru’s axe was still in his hand as it seemed that the barrier was keeping his hand clamped down on it. He would need to think quick. There wasn’t so much he could do with the barrier keeping him from moving as far as ninjutsu. He had to admit that it was a smart move on his opponent’s behalf. It would have made him happy to know that the opponents he faced so far aren't inherently weak. Though, he didn't know what joy was. If this barrier had been used against any other shinobi, it may have been more successful. Samuru wasn't going to sit around and wait to see what would happen next. Samuru was too cocky to give up. Due to his opponent locking him inside of a barrier, Samuru would become more invested. He knew that he wasn’t going to have enough air within a few moments to sustain him. Each moment was going to be precious.

The ronin focused chakra into his weapon hand as it started off glowing slightly yellow and then turned crimson. The barrier around him shattered as he was freely able to move. Samuru then sheathed his axe while he was underwater as he ended the technique. He began swimming to the surface as he begun forming hand seals. He released static from his body around the area around him. As he made it to the surface, he placed the chakra flowing into his hands pull himself from under the water. Samuru moved one hand after another as he started kneeling on top of the water's surface. This caused him to be very curious. Samuru knew if he had techniques like that, he would dominate any one that got in his way. Though, he preferred to wipe out his opponents completely with brute force.

“Nice try, kid.” Samuru.

Samuru then started running in an arc around the island. He would make it about 10 meters from his opponent’s side of the island. Samuru would then flow cerulean chakra in to his legs and as he would make a straight line toward his opponent causing the water beneath him to kick up like a jet ski. While he did this, crimson raiton flowed through his hands as he formed a hand seal. As he would moved closer, making it within 5m of his opponent, he would release the crimson raiton through his hands trying to send a surge of electricity through his opponent. He was attempting to end the match and any technique he was currently using. Samuru wasn’t aware of the barrier, but he wasn’t taking any chances with his opponent. He wasn’t going to toy with his opponent like he did last match.

When the barrier had reached maximum distance from Yūgen he knew to switch its focus to his bubble, at that point he'd only be keeping them from falling deeper into the waters. It wouldn't rise use for sure, with all the extra weight they were packing on them with their weapons, if anything they would be sent even deeper down now that he wasn't holding it up with his chakra. 'Someone please call this match over, at this rate they're going to drown-' "Ha take that, am I worth it yet?!" He screamed out. But it was at that moment that he felt his connection to his cubic barrier shatter. Dang it, this wasn't good. He slowly began to back up as he saw the glow of electricity. After about a second after he saw the flash a puff of red hair splashed out of the water like a head from the grave.

All they had to say was. "Nice try, kid." Before dashing off around the perimeter of the island, still staying on the water. Yugen probably should have attacked then, but he was still gauging how much fire power his opponent had. One wrong move and he could end up staining the water red with his bloodied corpse from a poorly time attack. His eyes tracked the running ninja carefully, watching for any sign of attack. Turning to face them as he hovered in his sphere, ready to dodge or start attacking.

After about seven seconds of them running they had chosen a stopping point a bit of a ways off from the island. But why, why do this? A positioning issue? Before he could contemplate the reason they dashed forward with such speed, all he could see what a flash of red. Not good! For a moment, he was taken aback, the red electricity echoing off their body. His life, a particular moment of it, was brought back to the surface. For a split second of a heart beat, he was sure that he heard the same unhuman laughter of the demon child that had abducted him all those years back.

His mind was over come with a resolve, and just as they stopped he began moving backwards. His hamster ball accelerated by his psionics jutsu, not all the way, the moment now moving at about 40m/s. However it was too late, a wave of red electricity was arcing towards him. Yugen knew that he would end up going out of the arena if he didn't adjust something, so he made the choice. Since he was still just a little bit ahead of the lightning wave, with his increased speed, he directed his psionics jutsu to force the lightning wave to angle itself at forty five degrees, aiming for the sky. Even with his reduced speed the degree of change was enough to curve it away from him and avoid hitting his barrier. As soon as that was done he shifted the psionic jutsu to his hamster ball again. Rolling in a quick one meter radius circle to keep from possibly falling. With that over that meant it was his attack now. With his psychic jutsu he quickly stripped down to near nudity. Leaving on only his spandex and pants.

Generating five spheres from his body he shot them out in front of him. All of them forming a sort of pentagon as they were all in contact with each other. Their speed much faster than normal, now boosted with the power of his signature psychic technique, however he could also maintain the speed on his hamster ball. The young white haired ninja projected the bullet spheres toward the island at max speed, directly aimed at the red head while Yūgen himself followed behind it at 40m/s, stopping at a ten meter radius from the island before rotating the sphere quickly in place like a top, keeping Yūgen afloat. Meanwhile as the other five sphere clump would shoot forward on to their target. However..

As the spheres met crossed water and above the sand they separated, scattering all away from each other for a quick second as his true goal was realized.

After stripping down he used his psionic jutsu to hide it just behind the bullet spheres, a meter out of reach from their hundreds of black confetti bullets. And when they separated it gave them an opening to shoot forward and snake around to his opponent. Yūgen's white T-shirt went over his opponent's head while his boots would slam directly into their crotch. Yūgen's jacket would wrap around their torso and clamp down on their body, squeezing down with as much force as possible. Hopefully breaking something

Of course adjusting his plan in case he was interrupted part way, to the best of his ability.

Samuru questioned what he saw through his eyes as it seemed that his technique was diverted. That was something new and somewhat intriguing. He had seen and experienced a lot of things, and this would be one of them he added to his list. The match just kept getting interesting. He thought to himself that he may actually lose. The technicalities of the exam sort of held him back, but he may not even have to at this rate. He second guessed himself on how he would react. There was a jutsu he wanted to try, but he wasn’t proficient at it yet. It would probably fail and this was not the time to test that out. There were times when you could test something out, but it wasn’t worth the risk. His mind was muddled of things he wanted to try against his opponent, but it seemed like he may have been ill prepared. The first two opponents he had to deal with were interesting. Samuru wanted to have a fight outside of the arena to see how his opponent would deal with him in the real world.

He drew his axe and flowed chakra into it as he stepped on land. This would be the first time in a long time that he would have to use this. The substitution jutsu. His axe was the biggest thing he had that he could substitute himself with. It was the largest thing on his person. Samuru would hate doing this due to how much pride he had, but he wanted to win. He didn’t want to be stupid. It was better to be safe than sorry. This was one of the first times that he may have been in a bind since starting the exams. It would have looked bad if he lost after he declaring an allegiance to a village. Though, he wouldn’t have time to sit here all day and wait for his opponent to get his stuff together.

His opponent started forming what seemed like a pentagon. Samuru decided that he would defend himself as he formed hand seals and deployed a yellow 4m x 4m square cube raiton barrier around him. He rested his axe on his shoulder. As he would move within his barrier moving a couple of meters inland as he would now be standing as his opponent attempted to his assault. Weaponized balls that he couldn’t described came speeding toward him. His opponent then tried to send in...his shirt? The technique collided with his barrier as he watched to see what his opponent would do next. Though, he quickly changed his mind and figured that he would try a different method. Samuru would then moved a few more meters moving to four meters from the island’s edge. While maintaining his barrier, he would concentrate his chakra  the lake around him. Samuru formed a half-seal as a thick mist formed around the area covering the island and a bit of the surrounding area.

Samuru would then back off as he would now stand within 3m of the edge of the island coming in the direction of where he started at the beginning of the match. It was the only way he could figure to mask himself from his opponent. His sensory technique remained active as he would wait within the mist. Thinking of what he should do next. Samuru chastised himself for not doing this earlier. He would have gotten a lot further by starting off with this technique.

Despite his speed and the incredible speed of his flurry of attacks his opponent was able to set up in-between the moments of fiery high speed action, on reaction time and preparation Yugen would say that they were somewhat equal. So catching them off guard would be quite hard, not impossible though. As the enemy barrier was erected Yugen’s own bullet hell jutsu was collided with it and bounced off before being vaporized by the barrier, his own clothes were fine however they didn’t have a chance of making it through that barrier so with a grunt he withdrew them to the safety of his barrier and redonned them with lightning speed. Being suspended in midair had some benefits. However it appeared that his opponent wasn’t quite done yet. Forming an hand seal, a half hand seal, a thick mist thickened around his red headed opponent. Is this the signature Hidden Mist technique of the Mizugakure? Seems that this opponent was learning, well, better than sweeping the match in seconds. Though he definitely would need to do something about that barrier of theirs, of course, he could always just let him waste chakra maintaining it.

As the mist started to creep towards him, Yugen backed off, sliding backwards with minimum effort, pushing him back to twenty meters from the island. From his new vantage point he could see as the mist stopped expanding outward, settling into its position and covering the entire island inside its cloudy dream. Try as he might Yugen’s vision could not pierce the veil of vapor and chakra. So he gave up on that. Instead he’d take a different route. Keeping a distance of twenty meters from the island yugen would circle around the entirety of the the island at just below full speed. While normally it would be impossible to keep up with such a speed, 50m/s, the large distance he had to cover allowed him to settle into a lean for the turn of his hamster ball, much like how a runner running in a tight circle would develope a lean inward. With the distance he had time to adjust his speed to deal with the speed. However he started to reverse a bit around halfway, stopping at twenty meters from his half of the island and five meters in front of his starting island. Spinning his barrier like a top once more to maintain his balance on the waters

Unless his opponent had some special kind of jutsu to keep him up to date on his whereabouts the mist also kept them blind. Either way, he prepared himself for any type of assault on him. After seeing this guy's style he was expecting a frontal attack, popping out of the mist in front of him. Though who knew what kind of tricks they could be hiding but themselves?

Samuru could no longer sense his opponent within the mist as he felt his opponent back out. He made a mental note of that. It was either his opponent couldn’t attack what he couldn’t see or his opponent didn’t have any sensory techniques. This was an interesting discovery. So, it seemed like he was safe hiding within the mist. This mist wouldn’t last forever, but it would allow him enough time to gather his thoughts on what he should next.

The barrier he put up faded as he didn’t feel like he needed it at the moment. He also ended the supernatural walking technique. He had other ways of defending himself. A good defense was to have a great offense. He would walk forward to the edge of the opposite side of the island as the mist went out a couple of meters further. There wasn’t anything he could sense within the range of his jutsu as he began walking back to the previous part of the island he resided. He stood on the edge of the island and didn’t sense anything. Samuru started to get bored. This wasn’t what he wanted in the exams. He thought that he was going to be able to keep up with him. This is probably where the line was drawn. Samuru wasn’t sure where his opponent was outside of his sensory tech. This was probably what he got for not learning something that could expand his range of sensing. He wasn’t sure what he would do next outside of waiting. The former bandit would stand four meters from the the middle of the island as he faced the direction of his opponent’s starting island.

Samuru preferred not to wait as he only joined the exams for pure entertainment. There was mental dispute he was having with himself. The urge to withdraw from this round weighed heavily on his mind. His chakra was limited and he would usually end his opponent’s by now. Not being a life or death match didn’t help at all either. Both him and his opponent weren’t going to go down easy. The situation he found himself in was complex. The ronin figured that maybe this was something that he would need to learn. His father would constantly say that patience was worth it in the end, but waiting around was just boring.

A few moments of waiting produced no effect on either participant’s part. Three seconds turned into five and nothing happened. It would seem that his opponent wanted to battle inside of the blind zone of mist, where they would hold the advantage. Since it was unlikely that his opponent could see visually inside of the barrier then that meant that they would also have an alternate means to sense objects and trace events inside, becauses summoning it without a back up plan would be folly. Besides, they still had the barrier to deal with. Yugen wasn’t sure if they can manipulate the barrier to the degree that he could, so this could likely be a trap of some kind. Well he wasn’t going to be falling for it that easily.

On the other hand waiting for both of them to run of chakra, true, it would make winning a hell of a lot easier for him, it was too passive, even more than what he usually would pull. Though going inside of there would probably lead to his defeat, a stupid mistake, since he didn’t have anything to dispell it with. So long as that cloud was hanging over this field, if this fight was to continue one would have to force the other onto their playing field. ‘Alright if only I just-

“Trying to run away again?” A gruff voice called out again. It was his grandfather’s, in a memory a few years ago. The hallways of his home blazing with the color of memory, a bit faded but perfect all the same. It was when Yugen had gotten in trouble for assaulting one of his classmater in the academy when they were talking about him. He had tried to run away but his grandfather sternly grabbed his shoulder and set him down on the ground. “Look, you want to know how to be a ninja right?” The young him nodded sadly, trying not to cry. “First off, don’t be provoked by every little insult someone tosses your way, you save that for the big ones. Like when someone calls you one of those words we don’t let you say.” They scolded, not unsympathetically. “And secondly, you can’t run away. Running will only get you so far, but standing your ground, that will take you throughout life. No matter where you go.”

Yugen tried to imagine his grandfather and his parents watching this match. As much as he hated it, he finally understood what Mori was talking about. Even if this was to cost him the match, he would be losing something even greater if he continued the path he was on. Stupid pride. Fine then. He donned a second barrier right over his skin, specifically warding off enemy jutsu while his shrugged off all his clothes, save for his pants and boxers, however his jacket, shirt, both shoe and sock pairs and belt were floating around in his barrier. Yugen’s violet eyes narrowed down on the mist in front of him with a sense of quiet fury, with focus he quickly spun his clothes in a one meter radius in front of him and shot it forward like a sharply spinning disc of destruction, waiting a second before charging forward with his ball, dragging his clothes back to him as he did so. His ball barrier going at absolute full speed for a second before suddenly reversing, effectively stopping in place for a moment before spinning his ball like a top. While he charged through he was sure that he hit something something, hard, about four meters from center, closer on his side of the field, but he was moving too fast to see what it was precisely or if he was hallucinating.

By the time he stopped he would be just nearly out of the mist, only three meters away from the mist. Once he did that he withdrew his clothes back into his bubble barrier and rolled into the mist, at about twenty five meters a second, despite keeping his psionics jutsu active on it. Thankfully since his barrier was outside of the mist jutsu’s range he could still see a little bit, just within the confines of his barrier. It wasn’t much, but it was something. If some how he didn’t get hit until he happened to cross the whole range of the mist, then he’d accelerate forward at 30m/s, reaching the twenty meter ring from the island and asses the situation, most likely take a different course of attack. Doing the same thing twice in a row was just asking for punishment.

Though if attacked while inside of the mist he’d simply have to adjust to it.

This was truly getting boring. Samuru was ready to give up as he started to walk out of the mist. Before, he made it to about a meter and a half from the side of the island. He felt something move through his raiton sense. Whatever it was vibrated at a high velocity. It seemed almost sharp in nature. Samuru flowed crimson raiton chakra all through his chakra network. He then sensed a large mass as he  move the water right outside of the island. The mass was moving fast. It wouldn’t even take a second to process that something was moving toward him. Samuru lunged toward the mass that was moving through his mist.

“OSU!” he yelled as a crimson raiton extended a 3m x 3m square sphere pulsed from his body. This was no barrier. It was a force of pure burning raiton.

His axe would glow crimson as the weapon became almost an extension of himself. This was what he was waiting for. Though, he wasn’t sure what he was getting into to. There was no hesitation and fear didn’t exist. It may have been a trap. He would take his chances if it was. He truly didn’t care for winning or losing. As long as the opponent was able to bring something decent to the table. Samuru wanted to always be a powerful force, he hoped this would solidify himself. Regardless of the outcome, this would be a learning experience. Samuru would bring his raiton infused axe down toward the middle of the mass. His crimson orb of lightning around him would hit anything in his way first while his axe would follow. His arm being speed up by cerulean raiton enabling his arms to move at 20m/s. Samuru would attempt to power his way through the mass that entered his mist. The ronin would take this as a challenge. He may have been overthinking it, but he was hellbent on taking on whatever it was. It mattered not.

If successful, Samuru would find himself 8m away from his previous location. The ronin would be running in a straight line toward the side of the island in between their respective halves of the island. It would be worth it to put a lot of his most of his leftover power behind assault. The chakra he used would be worth it. If this ended the match faster, he would be satisfied. There would only be a few things he could do left. Samuru had enough of waiting around for his opponent. What he did may have been considered desperate by some, but when he had nothing to lose. This was nothing to what he knew he was capable of. He was willing to prove himself to be a true warrior. Perun the Oni King.

As his clothes crossed the threshold of the mist Yugen immedietely heard the loud cry, “OSU!” and was startled. With the relatively quiet match they’ve had so far such a far cry shook his systems somewhat. All of Yugen’s clothes would take some heavy burning and be burnt into a brittle state, however, they would all smach against his opponent’s right ribs with a moderate force to them. Boots especially, as they flew past him. However they would soon fall apart after that. Breaking down into tiny parts Yugen couldn’t control. That was his first warning, a warning that this wasn’t quite what it seemed. To be able to destroy them to such a degree that nothing remained. Yugen was glad that he waited a second before charging in, that could’ve been the end of it all. While he wasn’t going to be so passive, charging in with no plan was just as bad. Maybe if he attacked from a different angle. However if he managed to destroy all of them, then this was a problem, he had made it into a ring so that all of them would be hard to hit, managing to break all of them.. That must have been some attack they pulled off. Now he knew that his opponent did have some kind of sensory, or at the least  could see through that thick mist. Neither was really better than the other. Hm. That did leave him with one possibility though.

However before he could execute his plan his opponent burst through the mist, shirtless, and a bit wet, or sweaty for that matter. Standing at the edge of the waters, his axe bursting with volumes of crimson lightning. The same lightning that he saw earlier. This wasn’t going to be good, he’d have to get rid of that quickly. With strongly 'thoughted' thought, he thrust his will out to the axe, and with as much force as he could muster with his jutsu, thrust it high into the arena as far up as he could before letting it fly through the air. Then, he switched his psychic technique to his pants. He would strip his pants down naturally, with it slinking from his legs without much protest with the belt gone. After that happened he would summon a two meter wide, two meter long, two meter high cube centered on his red haired opponent. Blocking their jutsu but not their items. As I dashed forward at a speed of about 25m/s I threw out my pants at them, crossing the barrier without a hint of interference. The pants would attempt to strangle their neck any way they could. While he slid to the right four meters before dashing forward at thirty meters per second. Reversing as soon as he was nearing the coast. Turning his head to start his opponent done, a blue energy was gathered in a small energy orb just inside of the barrier, and it was aimed directly at the man's hips. The energy extending out as a beam before he screamed, “Die!”

Samuru powered through his opponent’s attack as the clothes his opponent used were completely destroyed. He was unfazed and didn’t even react to the clothes. Though, he find himself facing his opponent head on. He looked straight into his opponent’s face as his axe started moving on it’s own in his hand. Samuru let the axe go as he would then switch places with it using the Substitution Jutsu as he would leave an afterimage of himself behind not soon after. His axe didn't make it too far into the air as he found himself about 5m in the air before he started falling. Samuru would adjust his body weight to dive face first into the water below. As he hit the water, his axe tapped the barrier it was in, dispersing it.

He found himself under the waters surface about 3m as he would swim 5m deeper to hide himself within the darkness of the lake, but not before reaching his hands out toward his axe and attaching chakra strings to it as he would pull the axe toward him like a yo yo. Samuru would swim toward the island as his axe would still throb with crimson raiton as he would then sheathe it. He stayed below the surface until getting to the side of the island away from where he previously exited. There he use the mist that extended five meters over the water. He then moved himself to forward to the opposite bank as he would be 3m from its edge and 4m from the tip of the island toward his starting island.

Samuru would stand there and remove Necrosis from his back as he would notch a Peruna arrow to it. Samuru would then kneel down within the mist. He considered sending an arrow, but it wouldn’t do any good. That would have gave away his position, so he resisted. He would have to wait for an opportune time to attack. He would find that patience was well worth it. Samuru imagined himself on a hunt. This way he wouldn’t get easily bored. Though, his target would be shinobi. Unfortunately, there wasn't much else he could do, but wait and figure out what his opponent would do next.

Just as he started lifting the axe up in the air, and in the confusion lost sight of his opponent for a moment. Though a splash in the water gave him a bit of a hint of where they were. However he still drew the axe upward about ten meters above the waters, relieved to find that the substitution had not dispelled his jutsu’s effect on the glowing weapon. But before he could draw it towards him. There was a bit of resistance on the weapon, as if an extra weight was added onto it. ‘So they really were underwater. Well if they want their axe so badly then they could take it!’ He drew the axe up higher with his mind, before slamming it down in the waters as deep as he could allow. The electricity still present in the axe shocking all the targets in a small radius as it plummeted deep into the water. Hopefully that would be enough to draw out his opponent.

After it reached the maximum range underneath the waters Yugen brought it back up to the surface. With it keeping a fair distance of 5 meters above the water. Perhaps there would still be some resistance but their strength wouldn’t be enough to wrench the axe away from his jutsu.

While he still had the axe in his possession he couldn't find any sign of his opponent. Assuming the proctors hadn't called off the match Yūgen would bring the axe within five meters from his bubble. And begin to circle around the island at twenty five meters per second, keeping twenty meters from the main island, wary of the mist that continued to plague the arena. The axe would trail behind the jutsu ball as he scouted around the island. Looking for any sign of his opponent.

As he attempted to pull his axe back. The axe started pulling his arm forward as he began swimming away. He released the chakra threads and started swimming deeper. He sensed the vibrations in his axe as his dipped into the water. It luckily was out of his range. He wasn’t bothered by his opponent taking his weapon. Samuru was about done with this match altogether. The ronin new that he already had burned too much chakra. The match wasn’t going in his favor. He had a couple of options available to him. It was either forfeit the match or ride it out to the end.

Samuru had to admit that he was careless. There was need for him to burn through all of that chakra from the beginning. Samuru would take this and learn how to better handle the situation. He would have fake a sigh, but he remembered that he was underwater. This was his own fault and he would own up to it. It had nothing to do with him being weak. There was just a list of bad decision that he made that showed no results. It was sad that he would lose this match, but there was nothing more he could do.

The ronin watched through his sensory as his opponent seemed to be moving in a circular motion. Yeah, He had enough energy to maybe pull of two more techniques. Though, in the position he was in now. It would be a lost cause. Now that he knew what his opponent was capable of. He still had to make a decision. What would he do next? He had enough chakra from a lightning dragon, but it wouldn’t spare him much else as far as reserves. His body already began reacting negatively. His swimming wasn’t as proficient. Samuru scoffed at the idea of giving up. It wasn’t in him to give up, but he had to remember that this was just a competition. There was truly no benefit of him pushing through it. He would just need to regroup and prepare for his next fight.

Samuru would swim to the surface as he pulled himself to the water. As he stood on the water’s surface. He raised his right hand into the air. Samuru’s mouth slowly opened as he truly questioned what he was doing. It was like being between a rock and a hard place. Though, a true shinobi knew when to call it quits. He had enough resolve that this wasn’t truly a loss. After the exams, he would train himself to be stronger than he already was. Plus, he needed to purchase a stronger weapon. His axe was a fine piece of work, but he needed to gain something else so that this wouldn’t happen again.

“I, Perun of the Land of Demons, resign from this match.”

It was around the time that he reached the midpoint between his opponent's starting island and the main island arena that it happened. He couldn't see him but their voice was clear, and their words like resonating crystal. He froze in place, the ball spinning in place at what would follow "I, Perun of the Land of Demons, resign from this match." Yūgen froze in place. Unsure if he heard that right. They were giving up? So this one too huh?! First it was that Senju and now this guy? Just when he made that resolution it was already near the end of the match! A strong breeze blew over the arena, scattering the mist. Then, lo and behold, his opponent, drenched, was there, standing soaked to the skin on the sand. Before he even knew what he was doing he had violent spun himself right infront of him, dispelling the ball and letting himself sink shin deep in the waters. Staring up at his red headed opponent with a scowl that almost seemed permanent on him. Even standing nearly naked before him and the rest of the audience those violet eyes projecting of his showed no shame, instead the reflected the outrage inside of him. With his mind he rotated the axe behind him with in a lethal circle before slamming it blade first into the sandy ground right on the red head’s right side.

“What do you think you’re doing? Giving up on a fight while you’re still standing-?” A hand on his left shoulder stopped him before he could say anything. Yugen gave a sideways glare to the one interrupting him, it was the proctor of this fight. “Enough.” Was all they said. “Tch.” Yugen shrugged him off, but not before looking back to his opponent on last time, “Every fight is a fight to win, who said you could give up?!” The white haired genin turned away, summoning a transparent platform barrier, squarish in dimension but paper thin. “How about you give it your all next time?” He shouted out.

Hopping on top of his barrier he applied his psionic technique to it and had it dash all the way to his own miniature island where his escort was waiting to guide him to the sidelines for the next round. They offered him some fresh clothes, predicting ahead of time that he would probably end up stripping again. He ripped it from their hands and quickly donned himself before allowing them to lead him to the next area. Though later on he would question his actions; something was definitely wrong with him. A certain red eyed demon child came to mind. He needed help.
