Finally it was time, after a few exhibition matches, Kaito was finally entering the main event of the chunin exams, the actual matches where contestants were pitted against each other in combat. The point of the exams was threefold, though most didn't fully understand it. On the surface, it was a time honored tradition of genin showcasing their skills in the hopes of earning themselves a promotion. In truth, the chunin exams ran deeper than that, as it was also a means of the various participating villages to showcase the next generation of shinobi they had raised. This was vital for the economy of the five hidden villages of the great countries, as doing well in the exams often led to more interest amongst those looking to hire shinobi. Of course, there were always bragging rights to consider, but for the most part it was also a show of good faith between the participating villages, more so when there was no foul play involved.

As the entrance opened, and Kaito stepped out, the first thing he noticed was the sheer amount of disregarded weapons laying about. Nothing looked to his particular interest, though there were plenty of projectiles should he find the need. Popping a bubble as he chewed the gum in his mouth, Kaito began to walk forward, stepping on swords and other assorted weaponry as he made his way forward. He'd never heard of his opponent before, and knew nothing about him other than his name. Kaito noticed a giant shuriken along his walking path, he made sure to step on it as he walked over it, infusing a small amount of chakra into the metal weapon through his foot before taking his next step. It'd be a good idea to have an escape method in case he needed to get out of dodge at the last minute.

Kaito could see his opponent, even though the match had technically already begun, he was in no rush to close the distance. Standard ninja practice was to observe one's target before making a move, though that didn't mean Kaito wouldn't do anything, there was plenty of ground to cover and Kaito could easily move in closer without putting himself at risk to early. To this end, Kaito having walked about ten meters forward from where he'd entered the arena, began sending suiton chakra to the bottom of his feet to enhance his speed. The Kiri-nin would move forward at a speed of ten meters per second until he was another twenty meters closer to the center of the arena. Kaito wasn't looking to make proper introductions, and he sure as hell wouldn't let himself disgrace Kirigakure no Sato by allowing himself to be made into a fool by showing weakness. All that mattered was the he and the other Hidden Mist shinobi made a good showing.

The perfectly circular arena was littered with weapons of all shapes and sizes, many of which were far beyond anything Jukei had ever considered buying. A mildly impressed whistle escaped his lips, his feet carrying him onto the arena at his beginning location. He had thought that they'd start already in the arena, a set location across from each other. Instead it seemed as though the two would enter from complete opposite sides of the rather massive arena. The total length of the arena, from end to end at its furthest points, was one hundred meters. As the young Iwa ninja entered, he was able to see his opponent enter opposite him. His name was Kaito Osoroshi.

Jukei would remember that name.

As the ninja slowly walked forward, Jukei would instead stop shortly after entering, kneeling to the ground and picking up three shurikan which he would hold onto in his left hand. As he stood up, his right hand pressing on a windmill shurikan to infuse some of his chakra within it and having covered only four or so meters since he entered, he saw the other ninja begin gliding forward as if skating. The grounds surface meant nothing to him, and a barely audible "Wow~" was whispered underneath Jukei's breath. He watched how a large gap was closed in nearly no time at all, and made a mental note of exactly how fast the ninja was moving before he himself began moving forward again at his own pace, his own movement practically coinciding with the beginning of Kaito's glide.

The walk gave away nothing about Jukei, and due to the myriad of items that lay strewn between them and around them the other ninja likely wouldn't have even noticed Jukei's hand having pressed upon the rather large item. He had only covered another meter or so by the time that the enemy ninja had covered his full thirty meter distance, and while the other ninja was certainly eliminating the distance between them he was giving away information about himself in the process. The Iwa ninja knew that he did not excel in speed or strength at the moment, and his jutsu options were limited. He'd have to be able to outperform his opponents if he wished to climb. Having covered a total of five meters in the time it took the enemy ninja to cover thirty, it seemed obvious to all those watching who the more mobile of the two would be.

Having moved so quickly only to watch his opponent make very little effort to match him caused Kaito to slow down, though he never fully stopped. If his opponent wanted to hold off for whatever reason, Kaito would simply have to make up the distance at a reasonable pace. Walking forward about twenty meters, the suiton chakra under his feet making each movement graceful, Kaito was able to watch his opponent stup to pick up a few shuriken. With a slight smirk on his face, Kaito knew if his opponent meant to hurt him with those little things, he had just the thing to stop them.

Forming the Dog Hand Seal, Kaito could feel the chakra within his forearms and hands push to the surface, turning into water as it touched the air, as the water developed the genin's arms and hands. With this protective jutsu, Kaito could smack away simple projectiles and even catch offensive jutsu with his hands, within limitations of course. Still, as Kaito used the water chakra on his feet to burst forward another twenty meters, bringing himself within twenty five or so meters of his opponent, his hands were already ready to defend himself even as he moved to ready himself before attacking his opponent.

Jukei, that was the name of shinobi before him, where Kaito had once shown restraint fighting his adoptive brother, he wouldn't even show common mercy now. Kaito's intent was to win by any means necessary, not to test the skills of his opponent. To that end, Kaito began to focus his mind just as Haka Osada had taught him, soon his mind would be ready to use his next jutsu without the need for hand seals. Kaito had every intent of using the Water Bullet technique as soon as he was close enough to do so, just a couple more seconds, Kaito thought to himself as he reached forward with his water covered hands, as if grasping for his opponent.

As his opponent walked forward at a relatively slow pace, it gave Jukei plenty of time to analyze this man. He had an idea for how fast this man could move now, but he needed more information to understand how long he could keep that movement up. The luck was that while he was moving forward, Jukei was able to keep up with him. His reaction time made up for, if only a little bit, his lacking in other areas. As he watched this genin close the distance between the two, it made the Iwa ninja wonder what would happen next; And he had a guess.

Then it happened. Kaito began to dash forward again at incredible speeds. To respond, Jukei decided to do something of his own. As the man bent his knees, an obvious sign that the extremely fast movement was coming, Jukei did the same. As the man dashed forward, covering ten meters in a second with practically a single high-powered stride, Jukei covered a five meter dash in the same amount of time and then firmly planted his feet upon reaching it, the maximum distance he could do such movement for. Due to the two of them coming at each other simultaneously, it would have made the entire event transpire extremely quickly. As the ninja begin his second distance closure forward, aiming to cover another equal distance (Jukei assumed), he acted.

Throwing all three shurikan, one immediately after the other, they were aimed to catch the ninja as he was charging forward at his maximum speed. These three shurikan, which would travel up to twenty five meters if not stopped at almost fifteen meters per second, were all aimed separately. One of them was aimed, based off the straight-line trajectory the ninja had used thus far, at where his left leg would be, at or below the knee. The other at his face, specifically hoping for one of his eyes. The third his left thigh. Due to Jukei's own dash, the end distance between the two would be twenty meters, unless the opposing ninja had a way to quickly and efficiently stop his extreme forward momentum, or had a way to swiftly alter it without losing footing. Otherwise, he'd have to not only see the shurikan and know their path, but also come up with a way to stop all three.

Jukei had immediately resumed a fighting stance after having thrown all three shurikan, ready to react to any sort of surprise techniques that this ninja had.

Having already been prepared for his opponent to throw the shuriken, Kaito was easily able to catch two of the three thanks to the water chakra coating his hands and forearms. Managing to catch the first one with his left hand, the one aimed for his knee, while immediately catching the second projectile aimed for his face with his right hand. The third and final shuriken was deflected by the water chakra covering his left forearm, as Kaito hadn't moved it out of the way in time, much to his own benefit.

Allowing his forward movement as well as the burst granted by his suiton technique to carry him forward, Kaito used the chance to bring himself ten meters closer to his opponent while returning the shurkin to the genin that had just thrown them at him. Aiming for the other boy's throat and the second one aimed for his groin, Kaito closed five more meters between them as he kneaded chakra together, converting it into water before spitting it out in his opponent's direction. The two small spheres of water would move at twenty meters per second upwards to twenty meters, enabling Kaito to attack even if Jukei managed to avoid the shuriken. Kaito doubted the other shinobi could manage to get outside of range of the attack, and even if he could, Kaito could always chase him down and attack again.

Kaito had caught or deflected all three shurikan on his way to closing the distance between them to twenty meters, though it wasn't to Jukei's surprise. He had expected as much- Though, he'd admit, for a moment he had thought one of them would hit. Still, it simply meant that this ninja was of a caliber higher than the credit he had been given. It was a mistake that the Iwa ninja would not make again, and instead he would give him his proper respects.

This was not to say that the enemy ninja had stopped at the twenty meter mark, nor to say that these thoughts all transpired through Jukei's had as such. It had been more of an instantaneous understanding, as the twenty meter mark was reached and the enemy was now holding two shurikan, that he had to act. That twenty meter mark signaled for two things to happen. One of them was that Kaito would continue his forward momentum, continuing to close the distance between him and Jukei. The other was Jukei began to make hand symbols.

As Kaito worked to close the distance, continuing his forward burst of speed, he chose to throw the two shurikan back in Jukei's direction. Jukei continued creating hand symbols. The jutsu he was activating were not ones that had any visible form, so as far as Kaito knew, he was merely still performing a single jutsu. As the two shurikan were thrown into the air, one aimed for his throat and one aimed for his groin, Jukei leaped to the side, planning to go to the side for only a meter before landing. However, Kaito continued forward, now within the ten meter range of Jukei.

The distance between them was whittled down to five meters as Jukei's feet began coming into contact with the ground, though his feet were by no means stationed solidly upon the earth. Kaito spit two small orbs of water from his mouth while closing the five extra meters he had begun. As the orbs entered the air, Jukei had finished his final hand symbol. Right as fog began to come out of Jukei's body, the two water orbs collided with the center of Jukei's left shoulder and outer right edge of his right shoulder, though both hit him directly. The last image Kaito would have had would have been Jukei began to be lifted off the ground, carried backwards.

However, as the fog expanded outwards in all directions, Jukei utilized the effect of his Flowing Water technique. Having gone back only half a meter or so, his momentum was instead shifted forward and upwards at a light angle, projecting him towards Kaito, though Kaito would be unable to see or hear any of that happening due to Jukei traveling just behind the outer rim of the fog at all times. Considering that Kaito had shot off his attack while continuing his burst of speed the other five meters, the chances of him being able to instantly shift his own momentum or stop it were low, unless he too possessed a technique to do so. Regardless, as far as he could possibly know, there was only a fog coming towards him.

As the fog reached Kaito, so too did Jukei. Coming to a landing next to wherever Kaito was, Jukei used this momentum to add to the force of his right hook at the side of Kaito's head. As the collision took place, Jukei's other active technique would allow for chakra to penetrate into Kaito's skull, damaging his brain. Jukei had the advantage here of Kaito being unable to see or hear him, and Jukei being able to know the enemies location and movement despite his own loss of senses. Regardless of if Kaito had continued forward, or had redirected to the left or right, Jukei would have projected himself at Kaito seeing as how he would have been able to know these movements through his own sensory jutsu.

This attack would have had the added benefit of being impossible to see or hear coming, and the effects of the fog would have prevented any normal sensory techniques from finding Jukei's location. Unless Kaito had the ability to stop or suddenly shift his momentum backwards, this fight would likely be over.

Even as Kaito saw his water spheres hit, the fog had already begun to form. It was a funny thing, for someone to use a technique so similar to the Hidden Mist jutsu Kaito's village was known for. Funny, and foolish. As a shinobi of Kirigakure, Kaito couldn't let such insolence go without answer. Did this Iwa-nin really expect to throw off a Hidden Mist shinobi with, well with mist, of all things? Quickly forming the Dog, Dragon, Tiger hand seals almost by second nature, Kaito began to infused the coming fog with trace amounts of his own chakra, allowing him to feel the presence of his opponent. It was safe to assume, that while his opponent thought himself hidden, Jukei meant to attack the Kiri-nin.

Despite having prepared for the attack, Kaito had been unable to perceive it through the mist. The hit landed on the left side of his head, knocking the genin back a couple of inches as he reactively moved to block her face from further assault. If he had been able to see, Kaito would have notcied his vision momentarily go fuzzy, as the pain spread through the side of his skull. It was obvious there would be some serious bruising, but Kaito was still able to fight. Immediately after reeling from the attack, Kaito surged in the direction Jukei had just attacked him from, once again moving ten meters a second, Kaito would attempt to tackle the genin, and force him out of the mist with shear strength and speed. Kaito understood the mist made it impossible for either of them to actually see each other, so even with a proper sensory technique, Jukei would have very little time to evade such a reckless tactic at such close range.

Once Jukei was in his grasp, Kaito would spit forth the second round of two water spheres towards the Iwa-nin's face at near point blank range, while simultaneously sending a rush of chakra to his own scalp. The excess chakra caused Kaito's hair to grow in a flash, instantly pulling from his head in three waves of now metal-like white haired senbon fifty in total. Hanging in the air between one to three meters of Kaito, they would instantly move towards the Iwa-nin's back as Kaito continued forward another ten meters.

Even if Jukei attempted to remove himself from Kaito's grasp, the Kiri-nin would use all of his strength to hold onto the other genin, refusing to let go until the Iwa-nin was down and out, or simply relented and forfeited the fight. Nothing less than complete humiliation for the crime of insulting the legacy of Kirigakure. With a smirking grimace on his face, Kaito would take the time to enjoy making the rival genin suffer, after all, Kirigakure wasn't known as a village of mercy, even with it's less bloody outlook in recent decades.

Once the two had cleared the mist, both likely falling to the ground due to the tackle, Kaito would move as fast as he could to the side, putting five meters between the two of them before readying himself to continue the match, assuming his opponent was still up for some fun. There were other forms of pain to explore, and Kaito had special plans now that they had both managed to land a hit on the other. Now it was time for the real test of not only skill, but endurance and the willingness to suffer through anything. A feat most notable amongst Shinobi of the Hidden Mist.

[OOC: So as a reminder then, your character just suffered D rank physical damage from the punch, as well as C rank damage to his brain from the active jutsu that was also put into your head.]

The enemy had taken the hit, and obviously he'd be reeling. His brain had been rattled, not only from the physical punch but the effects of Jukei's Beyond the Surface technique. The enemy would be dazzled, his vision blurry and ears ringing, though he'd never even know while in the fog. His brain was likely bleeding at this point, a sure sign that there would be issues to come. Those proctoring the exam had surely seen through the fog to understand it had begun to happen, but they had not acted to end it. And why would they? The fight was a good one, and who knew whether or not the Iwa ninja or the Kiri ninja would be able to secure this victory? After all, the enemy was likely feeling a deep sense of confusion. He had only just seen Jukei flying backwards- How had he practically appeared next to Kaito? It was a mystery in itself.

Kaito had begun to fall back, and as that happened Jukei withdrew his fist. His sensory jutsu allowed him to understand that the enemy had stopped falling, but even the Iwa genin couldn't have expected the sudden and reckless move that came next. Kaito began charging forward at Jukei, skating across the ground and gaining speed to close the half meter gap incredibly quick. He had, by no means, accelerated to maximum speed. He had, however, more strength than Jukei. Even while Jukei knew what was going on, he felt the enemies arms wrap around his body, around his ribs, and he felt his weight be lifted off the ground. He reacted instinctively, having wrestled plenty in the past.

His legs wrapped around the opponents waist, locking themselves at the ankle, as his left hand instantly went to the opponents shoulder, half of his hand on the opponents neck, to allow himself to control his own upper body. It was due to his, along with his sensory jutsu, that he felt the user bring his head back away from Jukei's side from the picture-perfect tackle, and aim his head upwards at Jukei's face. Jukei instantly turned his face away from the enemy and pulled his neck and upper body back, which held his head behind his back. He knew from experience that Kaito had a dangerous mouth, and while his sensory jutsu screamed that Kaito had begun moving his head, and while Jukei felt Kaito's head pull away from his side, and while his hand felt the bend and twisting of Kaito's neck as his head reached upwards, Jukei could guess what was coming next.

It was not simply the sensory jutsu, nor his physical contact being well placed, that gave him that knowledge. Without any vision or hearing, it took both the sensory technqiue and the feeling of the enemies neck movement to piece together the puzzle in Jukei's head. Both of those puzzle pieces were enough to tip the Iwa ninja off to what was happening.

And sure enough, it did. Two water blasts shot themselves from Kaito's lips. One of them ripped upwards, catching the very edge of Jukei's collar. It tore lightly into the flesh, though only a mild flesh wound, while the other shot into the air, missing everything. If Jukei had not known to readjust his face so that would have potentially caused intense damage- Not enough to end this fight, but enough to make him feel uglier for sure.

And yet Jukei could tell two things. The first one only he knew- They were nearing the edge of his fog. There would soon be no benefit left afforded to him. The second, the one that Kaito was also aware of, was that they were getting ready to fall. Kaito was moving at a solid speed, and they were now already heading towards the earth together. But Jukei had already started acting, and Kaito wouldn't see until it was too late.

Kaito was still blind and deaf within the fog on their way down. He would feel Jukei's legs tighten around his waist, enough to restrict breathing slightly and make him uncomfortable. He would feel Jukei's left hand tighten its grip around his neck and shoulder, though not enough to cause major discomfort. And both of these reactions made sense. Jukei would obviously know they were falling, and he would brace himself as such.

The difference was that Jukei knew exactly where Kaito's face was, as well as what his own body was doing. As they fell, Jukei was moving to slam his elbow into Kaito's face. There would be a moment as they fell from the fog, less than a half a second- Depending on how fast they were falling, less than a quarter of a second. Kaito's vision would be just adjusting to the sudden addition of light, assuming his eyes were open at all, and would be momentarily blinded for all intents and purposes. His ears, having been devoid of sound, would hear the clank and clatter of weapons that had been kicked and sent flying by his charge forward (likely the cause of him tripping within the mist). And even if he had somehow regained vision and adjusted to the light in less than a quarter of a second, he'd see only one thing. And even with Jukei being temporarily blinded as well- His sensory jutsu, as well as having continuous understanding of precisely where Kaito's face was during the reckless charge, was more than enough for him to aim his elbow on their drop. As Jukei's back, further off Kaito's front, hit the ground, it would have the added benefit of his left arm keeping Kaito's neck relatively stationary, and for that split second where he had vision, he'd be falling at full speed towards this elbow that was also coming up towards him.

An elbow, coming upwards and angling itself from around the bottom of Kaito's nose, into the bridge of his nose between his eyes. Kaito would be falling, unable to use his hands as they were wrapped around Jukei, and given mere fractions of a second to respond to what he may have not even seen. The elbow, if it hit, would cause massive damage to Kaito's nose. It would perhaps break his opponents nose, and the use of Flowing Water would imbue another C rank of damage- This one directly damaging the optical nerves, as well as his brain. It was likely he was blinded at this point, and had suffered over B rank of internal damage directly to his head at this point. If this all hit and he was still coherent enough to move, he'd likely be unable to gather the strength to tear away from Jukei and move. Even if he went to unwrap his arms from Jukei's side and tried to pry Jukei's legs off, Jukei would use this opportunity to take free hooks at Kaito's face, maybe even more elbows. Kaito's hands would be too slow to let go and reach up to protect his face before catching a few free punches, and even if he turned his head, Jukei would merely stop his momentum and use his other fist.

This was not to say that Jukei was unscathed. The fall had made Jukei's back sore. If the fall had been a slam instead of Kaito losing balance and falling, it would have certainly done serious damage. That was not what happened though- And what happened benefit Jukei immensely.

Description: Jukei concentrates chakra throughout his body, allowing this chakra to vibrate at a specific frequency and utilizing his affinity with water. Upon contact with an opponent, or a surface, the chakra he has focused within his body ripples out within whatever he came into contact with. This causes immediate internal harm via any sort of liquid present, which can cause damage to soft tissues equivalent to major external bruising. This also amplifies the damage dealt to bones, possibly fracturing them, as the damage caused by this jutsu on contact is completely separate from the physical damage caused upon impact of the strike that potentially carries it. It can also disrupt muscle tendrils, causing numbness and muscle failure even if bones do not break. The damage is relatively contained, spreading only a few inches from whatever the point of contact on the opponent is. This jutsu can also be fine tuned immediately to avoid damage being done to an ally through some sort of accident. It should be emphasized that these attacks do not specifically target the muscles, tendons, nerves, or bones; Rather, the fact that these attacks ripple beyond the surface of contact means that they, of course, damage these internal structures. The ripples travel up to 1.5 inches deep at point of contact.

(OOC - Having ignored my attack with my White Haired Senbon jutsu, I'm calling the hit in this post. You also clearly ignored my use of the Riverdance jutsu to move us out of the mist, despite approving the edits I made to my previous post, so I'm writing this post as though we are no longer in the mist since that's what you agreed to when I asked you to look over the edits.

Also to be clear, you made no attempt to escape Kaito's tackle, and even attempted to maintain your grasp on him, for that reason I didn't have Kaito move away from Jukei.

I also want to note that the use of Talons of Bloodrot make Kaito's Reaction Time C-0, and his Perception D-1.)

Having cleared Jukei's mist by well over half a dozen meters at least, Kaito's vision and hearing returned to him, disoriented as he was. Still, the fifty white haired senbon he'd created with his medical jutsu had all managed to find their target, imbedding themselves in the Iwa-nin's back and nape for the most part, though others would have found their home in the Stone genin's shoulders or other parts of his body. The pain he must have felt as those fifty senbon sank into his flesh would have been immense, so Kaito was rather impressed when Jukei managed to counterattack in spite of it all.

Their reflexes being equal as they were, meant going hand to hand like this wasn't as effective as either of the two shinobi might have assumed. Still, Jukei had managed to strike out at the Kiri-nin right as they fell to the ground, the senbon in Jukei's back and nape likely taking a beating as he connected with the ground, Kaito on the other hand suffered a broken nose as he fell. Pain was nothing new to him however, most of his life he had been made to suffer for the sake of growing stronger. The blood dripping from his face would only serve to awaken the beast Kaito had always been deep down.

Kaito felt Jukei's hand on his throat, felt his legs and thighs around his waist, but none of that mattered to Kaito as his eyes went pitch black and tears of blood streamed from them, matching the blood coming from his nose. As the Kusatta Chi within him threatened to boil over, Kaito's skin began to become drenched in blood before it congealed and formed a protective barrier on nearly every surface of the Osoroshi's body. With Jukei's next attack, Kaito's reflexes would be sharper this time around, as he moved his fists to catch the arms of his prey. The water covering his hands and forearms would burst, disappointing even as the defensive jutsu interacted with Jukei's attack.

Yet still, Kaito would attempt to pin the young shinobi to the ground under him, while originally intending to move away from his fellow genin, Jukei had refused to let go of his grip around Kaito's waist. Acting more on instinct now that the rotten blood of the Osoroshi had taken over, Kaito's fingernails transformed into black talons as he let go of the opposing genin's hands to grasp around the boy's neck. Straddling the genin's waist as Jukei clung to him, Kaito would tighten his grasp while scraping his talons across the Iwa-nin's neck, causing slight tears in the skin but major first degree tissue damage in the form of necrosis, which would only make it easier to strangle the shinobi of the Hidden Stone Village.

Kaito would continue his assault on the genin's neck, occasionally lifting the boy's head only to slam it back down on the ground unti la proctor forced him to stop. Having been hit with fifty senbon, hit with three rounds of the gunshot technique, Kaito's assault would far more than likely lead to one or multiple proctors forcing him to stop. If they didn't, Kaito might just kill the shinobi underneath him.

"The hit landed on the left side of his head, knocking the genin back a couple of inches as he reactively moved to block her face from further assault."

Damage dealt to Kaito from the technique "Beyond the Surface" lands somewhere on the left side of the head. The exact location here is vague, so the likelihood of it hitting the weakest part of this section of the skull (the pterion) is unlikely, therefore it can be assumed that the damage is focused on the temporal lobe, which is the largest portion of the skull in that area.

"This causes immediate internal damage via any sort of liquid present, which can severely harm internal organs and also amplifies the damage dealt to bones, possibly fracturing them, as the damage caused by this jutsu on contact is completely separate from the physical damage caused upon impact of the strike that potentially carries it."

The damage from the technique is capable of dealing fractures to the temporal lobe, which is prone to fracturing with relatively small amounts of force when struck laterally. Regardless, this technique also deals internal damage via present liquid, which is certainly present in the brain (cerebrospinal fluid).

The ruling is that Kaito would have been struck with enough force to fracture his temporal lobe, and the damage dealt would have been enough to inflict a grade-3 (severe) concussion which would result in him losing consciousness, if even for a few seconds, which would have prompted proctors to step in. The match goes to Jukei.
