Clan History: The Hattori clan is a long standing part of the ninja world, known for little and renowned for less. They are not known to take pride in the work that they do or the feats that they are capable of, instead choosing to exist as a solid foundation wherever they call their home. The Hattori clan does take pride however in being one of the most well traveled clans in the ninja world, as well as easily one of the most numerous. Their stories and tales are many and far too plentiful to count as they have settled in almost every country and every village. Their experience, skill and wealth vary from family to family and area to area.
The history of the clan is shrouded in mystery however, though the family myth claims that the Hattori clan is as old as the ninja world itself, having spread far and wide, the Hattori as an accumulate are fated as a clan to master every skill known to the ninja world, live every story, and feel every experience. The origins of the clan are so far removed from history that some people do not even know that they belong to their clan. Many families that are members of the Hattori clan lose the clan name in favor of their family names instead. It is because of this family pride that much of the clan history will never be known. Many bearing the Heart of Iron never know that they hold such a unique power, and instead go through lives as farmers, fishermen, or leading other simple lives.
But those who choose to become ninja are a force to be reckoned with. Though people may not shudder in fear when they hear the Hattori name, they may know enough to be wary. It takes a person knowing a little bit of history to know that the Hattori have been at the base of the great nations of the Ninja World for generations, and for generations more they will keep that foundation strong.
Members: Hattori, Nayoko
Kekkei Genkai Name: Heart of Iron
Kekkei Genkai Description: The Hattori clan are a clan with almost limitless ties; they are spread far and wide around the ninja world and each have limitless histories and backstories. But at the center of each and every one of the clan members is a solid foundation that manifests as the Heart of Iron. This force of will that is shared throughout the Hattori clan reveals itself in a person as a proficiency in one of two foundational vocations: Elementalists or Specialists. Each of these vocations present different benefits and drawbacks. The vocation of the Hattori must be declared in their character application.
Elementalists are able to use jutsu of one rank higher than normal with their primary element. For example a Genin with Suiton as their primary element can learn and use Suiton jutsu at B-Rank or lower. Similarly, Specialists are able to use jutsu of one rank higher than normal with their primary specialization. For example, a Genin with genjutsu as their primary specialization can use genjutsu of B-Rank and below.
Additionally, the varied natures and experiences of the Hattori clan means that its members all learn from the strong foundations that have been set by their ancestors. Members of the Hattori clan gain +2 tiers to divide as they choose among their stats (eg: A Hattori clan member can have +1 speed / strength, or +2 endurance, or +1 perception / reaction time). These stat increases must also be listed in the character application and can never be changed.
Drawbacks:
- Elementalists:
- Because of their reliance on their proficiency in their primary element, Elementalist Hattori must take the "Hesitant (Element)" negative special characteristic without balancing with a positive.
- Hesitant (Element):
- Name: Hesitant (Element)
Type: Negative
Description: This person has a comfort zone that he/she doesn't like to venture out of. Learning a new field of techniques can be scary, and this ninja puts it off, ignores it, or lacks the affinity. This individual cannot have a fourth element.
Additionally, Elementalists take +1 rank of damage from attacks of the element that is strong against their primary element described in the Element Guidelines.
- Specialists:
- Similar to Elementalists, Specialists rely on their proficiency in their primary specialization, and therefore must take the "Hesitant (Specialization)" negative special characteristic without balancing it with a positive.
- Hesitant (Specialization):
- Name: Hesitant (Specialization)
Type: Negative
Description: This person has a comfort zone that he/she doesn't like to venture out of. Learning a new field of techniques can be scary, and this ninja puts it off, ignores it, or lacks the affinity. This individual cannot have a fourth specialization.
Additionally, Specialist take +1 rank of damage from attacks of the specialization that opposes their primary specialization as described below.- Weakness Chart (Spec):
