Blackening the sky, and etching a giant scar; It's swift, jagged ends. A wound that never healed. Every step made Honnari ponder. He'd been there once, to Suna, if only to ingest the flavor of the wastelands. What was it that he sought there? Witness? Reverance? To chronicle?
The Kage Summit held there lead to the Nations huddling together to lay claim on Sunagakure, in which Suna refugees & Ruyjin clashed with nations at the Siege of Inabayama. Figure heads, chess pieces of high status, supposedly made their move. The enemy moved against one another, and tension was cut short by the blades of either foe. In the end, the desert sun sweltered the dunes, drying up the blood-stained earth. as if cleansing it with it's holy rays. But, what was fought for, had surely not been settled.
'Afterall, the brightest light, will cast the longest shadows.'
And everything that is prone to break promises and dance in the dark, would make this curtain call their standing ovation, yet!
"I would surmise, that these events from the mouth of many, are true. And therefore my--personal chronicle of this 'Siege of Inabayama' and what ever else lies beneath, can begin." A delicate, deft hand gripped his quiver. Begging to fall from his person. "Perhaps there are a few that will be in the dedication as I move forward. Still, so many questions... Who fought? Why did they fight? And perhaps, the circumstances surrounding this primeval proceeding?"
From what he was told by a Suna Refugee, it was a snake that transformed the Wind Country into an inhabitable, less-than-ideal, shell of it's former self. Lawlessness, paradise for the average outlaw. Perhaps Honnari was naive, but he found that scope of destruction beyond the capability of one single-handed marauder. Maybe his mind couldn't imagine beyond what it had yet to experience, but regardless. And if he needed experience, then speak not; for he wanted no part.
Honnari saw it in relation to creation myths. Stories about forces working against each other. Like most, there are three planes of being. Light, dark, and--chaos in-between. It is at this time that those who rebel against the light, claim dominion over Dankness. And so would ensue the beginning Armageddon, and the first death of all transcendental beings alike. But as is commonly known, the war in all the different heavens, never stops there.
"Out of all this nations, the Leaf have had the most of it's kind to turn ontheir own nation, and work against it's interest. What could be the reason for that? And why do they all work in adjunct to our enemies?"
His bucket list was long: Learn the tale of Hastur. Delve deeper into the alliance with the blood mist, as well as the Mizukage's cryptic battle in the Siege. Unearth the ties that bind Risu's story to the Leaf, and the man responsible for taking her down. Learn each and every motive down to every subconscious thought. And avert any other dark future. He was one man, but surely, someone, somewhere must feel the same way.
If every Nation was laying to claim to Suna, then were the Leaf's intention entirely pure of heart? Where his loyalty was concerned, everything he was doing, and planned on doing, was for the Leaf. But the line between light and dark, is thin.
"I just have to keep moving. Across this insurmountable distance, will answers appear."
