Verdandi picked up the mission scroll from her trusty Iwagakure friend. Joy, as they call her, had been working at the admin tent since the war had started. Considering the sheer amount of missions that Verdandi had already picked up and returned here she had grown fond of the cute young Iwa-nin. The contents of the mission scroll however were less amusing. One of the spies were missing. Verdandi had an ill feel in her stomach. She scratched her neck and threw back her green hair. Fixed her eye-patch and straightened her Kimono. The large Yuki Clan symbol on the back of her clothing reminding any peasant around her that the ice princess was back on duty today. But as much as she liked it to show off and show those little cunts who's boss. She also had to keep her arrogance in check. Once again, she'd get an 'intern' assigned for this mission. As usual for educations sake. Since Verdandi already had spent days of training with Mizuki, she had grown fond of the little Kumo newbies. Despite the many missions she had been assigned towards to mess with the place. To be fair, she had nothing against Kumo as people. She just thought that the way they tolerated their kage being such an intense, self-loving prick was kinda odd. I mean whom seriously claims for himself to be an actual god in human form? Verd shook her head. She always did when the name Hastur came to mind.

Nevertheless, Verd usually was seen as a very skilled sensei. Her intense empathy often helped and the fact that she generally showed equal respect to lower ranked ones as she did for higher ranked ones made her a somewhat bearable companion when it came to her lessons. However, she sometimes couldn't help but feel a bit cool about what she was doing. To be fair, she was the ice princess, being cool is genetically written into her DNA's job description. Speaking of which. Verdandi's pet bear was moaning once again as the heat was getting annoying. Verd petted her beloved Avalanche and closed her eyes. Letting the Hyouton chakra slowly roam back over his fur. Cooling him down. Doing the same for herself before she slowly jumped on his back and used her furry friend as a mount to get to the promised meeting point. It was a bit chakra taxing, but certainly useful to be a Yuki-Nin in the desert. As a walking refrigerator one could easily manipulate the temperatures of one's own body. Verd arrived not much later at the oasis nearby the Iwa camp. She was supposed to meet her student here for the day. Avalanche growled and slowly made his way to the nearby pond. Dropping his massive size into the water and closing his eyes. The kid would arrive sooner or later. But then again. Verdandi stopped her train of thought. The last Genin she had seen had been older than her. Assuming that her student would be a kid was something she had yet to figure out in person if it was true or not.

Waiting Waiting Waiting

Unfortunately, the Genin never arrived at the meeting point. Verdandi would sigh to herself as she guessed he had too fallen on the battlefield. Verd lifted her body and hailed for Avalanche to move. Heading towards the supposed position where the spy should have come for report. Verd could easily see that it was a set up. Not necessarily because of the way the sand dunes were shaped to hide the people but also because one of those clumsy idiots thought he could hide inside the sand dune and just breathe air through a straw. He must have been cooked in there considering that Verdandi was here late by all means. She stepped forth playing all the unsuspecting victim. But once she was there she tossed the chakra into the sand to let the certain-kill ice spikes raise from the ground impaling the first three. Then made sure to welcome the remaining seven with her vacuum wave cutter. Basically, cutting their throats to pieces in an instant. Avalanche jumped in to tear the dying bodies apart that still showed any glint of resistance. Than all was over. Verdandi moved in to seal the corpse of the spy displayed. Leaving the ambush-criminals to rot in the sun. Verd sighed. It could have been a fun play but this was just boring. Time to head back home.
