Scouting Assignment D-Rank Mission:

Makoto came here to find out if there was more then just sand in the hidden village of sand, though he was a bit shocked that the village seemed to be missing when he got there. He received a mission to scout around to find refugees as he went about through the sand. It was a tough journey as he barely had the strength of a genin, as he struggled through the sand that he kept sinking his feet into.

Makoto had brought shoes with, but the shoes made him sink so deep he could not move, so he had to just deal with sinking up until his ankles as he realized the sand felt really hot beneath his feet as he felt like he would start sweating. He had with him a map with some noted locations and the original location he was sent from. The wind was blowing sand into his hair and he just barely managed to avoid it going into his eyes as he used the arm shield technique. It was not an actual technique, but thinking of it as one just made Makoto feel a bit better.

The sand began to hurt a bit as he kept making his way through he noticed the large ruins of rubble and a few signs of life. He approached slowly and found roughly fifteen people sleeping beneath the shade on this hot day. He did not want to startle them, if they were sleeping bandits it would just be dangerous. They also did not seem to have anything of value so he decided to take note of the location and compared it to where he came from on the map.

Makoto sighed and began to continue his tough journey through the harsh sands of what is left of the once renowned Sunagakure

Makoto had finally reached rather far having found another set of refugees that seemed to be hiding beneath a ruined building with half a roof as they took shelter. He carefully marked the location and then took a sheltered breathe before using his water clone technique to fan out the area on his way back.

The desert was a harsh and horrible place, hardly any village, hardly any people and there was nearly no sign of life in this deserted desert. He felt it was a shame that there was no water around even though he had learned to use suiton techniques, he only knew the water clone and the hidden mist technique. Neither one of these two could be of any help here inside the desert, as he began to wonder if water created with ninjutsu was even drinkable to begin with.

On the way back Makoto thought to himself that not even the bandits were roaming around in this desert, when you think about it there were barely any people left. Not even really anything worth stealing and walking through this desert was tiring as he was being carried by his clones who each had this expression on their faces like this was annoying. Though his clones had this excitement about actually being a jutsu which made the original jealous to some degree.

Makoto took his time to think on this mission and how those poor people would never know the greatness of a beautiful jutsu, though he felt a bit relieved that he would be able to learn more simply from being in a new and unusual place. The sandy ruins reminded him of his parents and of the home that once was, not that his parents were dead. They had simply gone on an adventure without him once more, as he decided he would have to rise up and reach for his own goals without wasting time on making a family. His parents had him by accident, though he was more like a discovery to them. However once they lost interest in him they went on with their own things and being their child he did the same.

Makoto was so tired as he dispersed the clones as they all gathered back to him. He had finally returned to the outpost that he had left from and began with his report. He pointed towards the direction he came from and then gave them the map as he began to explain that the first group was closer and larger while the further group seemed to be close to death, but were only a small number bunched together. It was not up to Makoto decide which evacuation took greater importance, he was only meant to scout them and report back then leave.
