Uchi Tako is a rather large red octopus, with its main body being nearly two and a half feet large in size. It's eight tentacles can extend to nearly 4 m (13 ft) long, many times the length of its own body. These tentacles are covered in many large suckers, allowing it to pick up, hold, and manipulate items with ease. Its size leads to it weighing nearly 15 kg (33 lbs). The intense size of this creature and its need to breathe water to survive leads to Chigetsu wearing it as a backpack of sorts, the octopus strapped to his back using its tentacles to hold onto his form, and surviving on land by breathing in Chigetsu's liquid body. The water exhaled by the octopus is able to return to Chigetsu's body, and have the oxygen replenished through Chigetsu's breathing, leading to a symbiotic relationship between him and the octopus.
Personality: Trained by the Hōzuki Clan to follow the orders and serve as combat pets, large octopus such as Uchi Tako (called Uchi for short) are often carried around by to be used in combat. Although Uchi has been trained by Chigetsu, it often refuses to follow orders and will behave mischievously with its tentacles. It quite enjoys playing tricks on people and grabbing onto them suddenly and leaving marks on other's skin with its suckers, but its mischevious nature can be calmed easily if given food. Because of how it relies on Chigetsu to breathe when out of water, it will do its best to stay as close to him as possible. Highly intelligence for an already highly intelligent species, Uchi is easily able and willing to assist and be legitimately helpful when the situation calls for it.
