Mission description: Attention: Teaching assistant wanted for the Iwagakure ninja academy. Requirements: Must have graduated from an academy somewhere in the world, and must be skilled in at least one of the ninja arts. Remember, kids are our future.
Mission details: Try not to yell at the kids; they tend not to like that.
Tenjin looked upon the training academy students, and thought ‘this is the place that trained little kids into becoming reserved soldiers.’ He always thought that the ideals of a shinobi were sort of strange like it was constantly preparing for war, but it isn’t far fetched that Iwagakure has many enemies after it’s neck after all the things it’s done in its past. For instance, Mu and Onoki are two of the people who were humiliated by the Uchiha and since then Iwa has had it out for Konoha. While pondering this in his mind he finally made it to to pay attention to the sparing children, following harsh instructions to continue at all costs, it was like some militaristic indoctrination. Tenjin wanted to teach these kids that the only things these kids should focus on is their studies and battle etiquette.
Tenjin watched as the students were practicing hand to hand combat on each other, kids throwing shurikens and kunai at wooden training dummies, and while observing the progress of the students Tenjin relaxed, only speaking when he saw something really wrong. It was pretty easy rather to have the kids teach themselves, but he could not wait to get out of this environment so that he can train himself. He always liked to train alone, but he also doesn't mind teaching. After scouting out the training grounds he began to order the students. “Transformation jutsu and substitution jutsu!” He said so everyone can hear. He saw students as they put their hands together trying to remember the seals, Tenjin was proud to only see the Snake, Dog, Ox, Boar, and Tiger sign but it is clear that some could not remember in what order as signs were being shown in many sequences.
Weaving each sign in many combinations he began to see the chakra buildup on some students as a cloud of smoke appeared around their bodies. After it had settled he noticed that they hadn’t moved and there was no block of wood. It was obvious that they needed to continue their practice. After a few more tries with the same results being witnessed, Tenjin came up to one of the students, bonking him on the head with the book he’s been reading. “Ouch, what did you do that for? You see I’m training here!” The student said letting a bit of his temper show. “You fools, the hand seal order is: Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog, and then Snake. Not whatever you were doing...anyway go back to your training.” He said walking away. “Well, why do you think I'm here right now?” The student said under his breath as he went back to his training looking back to see if Tenjin heard him.
The kids now were able to remember the combination of the hand seals and began to perform them, when they did Tenjin saw the surge of chakra again swelling up until a cloud of smoke appeared right beside them with logs of wood replacing them. “You’re almost there, but not close enough! Hurry up and get it already!” Tenjin said from afar. Taking the words as inspiration, the students began to continue their training. They weaved the hand seals again and Tenjin witnessed as chakra engulfed the students once more, he wondered if they had been putting too much chakra into this jutsu and he began to hope that the student remembered what Tenjin was talking about chakra control in class. At a point, Tenjin thought the kids were performing the jutsus perfect as they then began to weave the hand seals once more and then released a cloud of smoke.
He noticed as students began dashing to the other side of the training grounds where the wooden logs for practice were. Tenjin could see that most of the kids have now learned the jutsus and are aven playing with them. Some of the slower learning little kids broke their formation of training and ran to the advanced learners asking them for assistance. Tenjin smiled and said, “A shinobi who works together dominate together.” While rubbing one of the kids heads, Tenjin began to round up the children as if they were cattle and put them in their designated spots.
He then began to walk over to his spot once to begin the new jutsu he was going to teach, the transformation jutsu. He knew this jutsu would be easy for him to teach due to the fact that it required you to mentally imagine something while you controlled the emission of your chakra. He was aware that he had a creative class and planned to exploit it in the training of this jutsu. Tenjin then spoke, “Given all the missions ninja are assigned to - battle, intelligence gathering, diversions - this is a priceless ninjutsu. It is typically used to change into people other than oneself, but one also has the ability to change into animals, plants, and even inanimate objects like weapons. This gives this technique an abundance of uses. The transformation of a skilled shinobi will be exactly like the genuine article, so it will be impossible to tell the two apart. On the other hand, a transformation performed by an inexperienced person will have obvious discrepancies. It will be impossible to deceive anyone with it. This is one of the most basic ninjutsu, as such most shinobi know how to perform it.” Tenjin pauses before continuing again, the hand seals are “Dog → Boar → Ram. Now let’s see what you got.” Tenjin was able to witness as the majority of the students began the transformation technique in a nearly flawless state, with just minor tweeks needed to their methodology. Tenjin walked and saw the creative nature of the class as some student turned into birds, other into Tenjin himself, and he was most impressed with the students who were able to transform into someone they have never met i.e. creating their own character with the technique. Then a student brought to the attention of Tenjin, that the class is actually nearing its end. Although the class wasn’t able to completely finish the technique, Tenjin was comfortable with the progress made saying, “You students did great today. We will continue this session on our next class.” Tenjin then said farewell to his students one by one as none needed to stay after class for extra work. Tenjin walked to his office and left his belongings there so that he can go to train. Tenjin believes that he should now focus on training his specialities, but not before training his physical body first.
