Ritsu Kasen
D-rank
- The Valley of Clouds:
- Valley of Clouds:The valley of clouds is mountainous canyon high up in the greater kumogakure landscape, having built a squared off arena in one of the known wind funnels, the arena boasts two grandstands to either side with the canyon between them, allowing the crowd to stare down at the competitors. The Arena gains its name from the cloud-bursts that constantly flow in between the peaks of the mountains in the canyon, obscuring vision as the cumulus formations flow through like a misty river. Vision for anyone without a top-down view is exceedingly difficult. Those with perception of E-3 and lower are barely able to see their hand in front of their own face. While those with D-3 or lower perception have their vision limited to 5m, where everything after half that is little more than a shadow.

"How the hell am I supposed to fight in this shit?"
It was just after dawn when Ritsu stepped out in to the arena and straight away, the first thing that she noticed was: she couldn't see a damn thing! Everything around her was bathed in a sea of silvery white that seemed to flow through the area, almost like the way a river did. Except for instead of just flowing past the rocks, uneven ground and creatures that lay within; it circled and wrapped around them. Getting a taste before following the path of the wind once more.
Just for fun, Ritsu held her hand up right up against her face and slowly moved it further away until she could no longer see it, and brought it back again. It seemed that anything past half a meter in front of her face would be all but invisible. And yet, looking up, she could see the shadows of crowds of people start to fill up the grand stands on either side. She could feel their eyes tracing her movements, their expectations pouring down on her like the waterfall from before. They were here for a show. They would get one.
Taking opportunity of her moment alone, she would take note of her position in contrast to the grand stand and slowly make her way clockwise of the arena. Hands out in front and eyes on her feet, mentally counting her steps until she got back to where she started. And then she would move a couple steps forward and do it again. And again. Until she had a pretty decent idea of the arena. Then, and only then did she go back to her starting position and find the third big rock she came across and hid behind it. Tying her long hair in to a bun and wrapping her scarf around her waist to act more of a sash than something around her neck, she then checked to make sure she had her senbon with her as well as her kunai. Both of which she kept in a pouch at her hip.
Soon the other would enter the arena, and then they would begin.
Ritsu Kasen was ready.
